Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely cozy cottage that is great for families to relax and enjoy time together in front of the fire - The cottage was so cute, cosy and warm with the fireplace and all the other heating devices to keep us warm on a cold evening! It's a great space. The photos didn't do it justice in our opinion - better than expected! The only issue was that there wasn't soap in the dispenser in the shower. An easy oversight - otherwise all was great, nil issues or complaints.

- Mark (10/5): - Stunning old property with excellent features The toilet door didn't lock and we were 3 couples
- Olivia (9/5): wonderful stay very helpful communication, will come again! - atmosphere
beds were comfortable
clean extra fan
- Devu (10/5): -
- Bronnie (3/5): Disappointing - There was a Christmas tree set up which was lovely. The location is good. The king bed was comfy, although it squealed a bit. It was not clean, there was mould and dirt.
It is very hot and the fans are inadequate.
The garage is not for guest use which is not listed in the ad
- Christina (9/5): It was a great central place to stay & would be really lovely & cosy in winter - Very central. Very cute. Loved the decor which was in keeping with the age of the cottage. Fenced so safe for children It was very hot in Stanthorpe & there were only 3 fans
- Leanne (10/5): What a wonderful little place to stay in Stanthorpe. I loved this little cottage.š - Dillons Cottage was quaint, quiet, and cosy. Very close to the main street and close to lovely parks for walks. The owner was very accommodating and very easy to correspond with. I would highly recommend this property. It was a really hot, humid day and the cottage didnāt have air conditioning when we first walked in, but once the doors and windows were opened there was a lovely breeze throughout the cottage. It cooled down quickly.
- Bill (8/5): Our stay was comfortable & quaint. May need minor fix ups but history/location beautiful nontheless. - Location was great. History of the place was amazing, beautiful interior and comforting atmosphere. The only thing I would improve is the bathroom door wasn't able to lock or shut quite properly. May need some fixing up but otherwise beautiful.
- Nicki (10/5): Best cottage stay ever. Highly recommend. - Gorgeously furnished and decorated. Super comfortable beds and pillows. The whole cottage has such a good feel to it. Very impressed. Absolutely nothing.
- Tim (8/5): Lovely heritage cottage true to photos. Sitting out on the front verandah was wonderful. - wonderful comfortable bed. Very still in the home . More fans would have been useful.
- Lily (8/5): Cute Cottage - Comfortable beds, well equiped kitchen.
Good size rooms, good location.
- Loretta (3/5): Disappointed - The location
- Patricia Mary (7/5): Enjoyable despite the few shortcomings described. - Quaint & in keeping with its era. Nice verandah & rear deck. Good location, near creek & town. Bath towels very thin & need replacing. Tea towels not absorbent which made drying up difficult. (Could be linen or heavier cotton). Back burners on stove didnāt heat. Toilet door came off its hinge in breeze - latch inside would help to ensure privacy. Single bed lumpy & flannelette sheets unsuitable for warmer weather. Brands of toiletry products in shower werenāt identified
- Susan (8/5): - Location & quirkiness
- Terece (10/5): Amazing house and location with full facilities - Amazing old house so full of character. Beautifully restored and furnished. All cooking utensils and tea/coffee etc provided. Everything was perfect.
- Tony (9/5): -
- Brie (9/5): Cosy little cottage, with plenty of facilities to warm up on a winters night. - Such a beautiful little cottage. Nothing

- Lindy (8/5): Charming Heritage Cottage with Open Fire - It's a lovely heritage cottage with a good open fire and heaters in the kitchen and bedrooms. It feels like a family home. It's within walking distance of Anna's restaurant and the tourist office. It's also very close to Griffith Universities campus. A heater in the bathroom would be good. The single beds were a bit dippy but they were very warm and toasty with the electric blanket.
- Jacinta (9/5): Highly rec - It was a absolutely beautiful in this place it had everything u need and the staging/design was Charming central roomy and warm Minor thing but Water pressure in shower
- Russ (10/5): Exceptional - The Dillions Cottage felt like home! It was cozy and warm and just was so comfortable, super local to town. A huge thank you to Maree for being such a great host.
- Stacey (10/5): Lovely overnight getaway with the kids to a cute little cottage that was very homely. - Good location, nice host, had electric blankets and gas heater to keep us warm Would have been helpful to have instructions on how to use the gas heater. Us ācity folkā had to google how to operate it.
- Carlie (9/5): Beautiful quirky cottage with a lovely warm fireplace - Beautiful homely cottage I thought we had booked a three bedroom but it was two as they close the third room. The listing isnāt clear with that
- M (9/5): Superb -
- Mylissa (10/5): Cozy, comfortable stay in a nice quiet location. - Lovely accommodation, very close to town, lots of cafes, shops. Nice quiet location and easy walk for a morning coffee.
- Kim (7/5): we enjoyed our stay overall, but attention to these few minor details would enhance the stay:) - location was excellent. The main bed needs replacing, squeaky bed and not a good mattress.
The main TV needs to be larger.
NO WIFI- this is a pretty basic expectation today. A lot of Travellers are also in business.
It may be an old house (which is nice) but it needs up to date modern facilities.
- Margaret (9/5): A delightful & welcoming cottage! - A very cute, cosy & comfortable cottage. The beds were very comfortable & the kitchen was well equipped, Not being able to use the wood burner on a cold night.
A smart TV would have been a bonus.
Would have preferred that the extra charge of $50 for use of two bedrooms was incorporated in the initial price quoted for the cottage. Two single travellers are disadvantaged as they pay more than a couple. Have stayed at many similar accommodations nationwide & internationally & have rarely encountered a separate bedroom charge before.
- Katja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful family cottage, reminded us of āgrandmas homeā - Lovely homely feel that made us feel safe and comfortable. We lovely every corner of the home and all the details. All essential provided and plenty of towels. The bedding was lovely as well as the electric blanket. Beds were a bit soft for all of us, and the king bed had a really loud squeak, comfortable nonetheless.
- Alicia (10/5): Beautifully presented, cosy home - The cottage was beautiful, it was like stepping back in time and brought back memories of staying with my Great-Grandmother (who is no longer with us).
The property had everything we needed, electric blanket included, which was fantastic as it was much colder than we expected at night.
Bit disappointed we didn't get to meet the friendly spirit mentioned in the guest book by prior guests though...maybe next time!
I'm a ridiculously light sleeper so the only thing that didn't work for me was the King size bed, as it was a bit on the creaky side so every time myself or partner rolled over I woke up, but other than that, the bed was so comfortable and warm.
And the complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch also.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home, the pleasure was definitely all ours.
- Glenda (6/5): Pleasant - Great location & the owner gave us an early checkin and a late check out Very hot and no screens on windows so couldnāt keep them open at night.

- Barb (10/5): Happy 60th birthday weekend. - Lovely old house. We enjoyed the character. Beds were a bit too soft.
- Kirsty (10/5): The cottage felt happy - The cottage and the era of the things inside. Needs ceiling fans
- Angie (10/5): Great stay, we will be backāŗļø - Location, cleanliness and facilities A bbq would be awesome, the back deck was the entertainment area, but sad the chef had to cook inside.
- Melinda (7/5): Good - Location was good and old world charm Bed's and needs a little cleaning.

- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Quaint It was fine
- Joyce (8/5): We enjoyed staying at the cottage. Quaint building. - Supplied own food.
Location. Wood fire. Gas heater More towels available, instead of 1 each supplied for 2 nights stay. As it happened, washing machine, dryer and washing powder meant we could wash our own clothes and launder towels for our use.
- Kerrie-ann (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (9/5): My grandchildren loved living in a house like the olden days. felt like a home - The authentic period furniture it just felt like my nanas house the back steps lead onto uneven paving blocks
- Paul (10/5): Gorgeous cottage, I'll be back. - What an absolutely beautiful cottage. It was extremely comfortable and some fire wood was supplied for the fire place. Loved our stay here, it just wasn't long enough. I'll be coming back for a longer stay for sure. The fact I could only stay for a day.
- Jolyon (8/5): Nice place to stay in Stanthorpe - Nice little cottage, very central All ok
- Leanne (8/5): Very good -
- Kathleen (5/5): OK for one night - Central location. Authentic old cottage Shower in bath. Toilet door did not close. Kept coming of rails. Hot water system not enough for 6 guests. No set up kindling for fire. Would have been better to know this prior to arrival as we arrived after shops closed .
- Tania (9/5): Superb -
- Jodie (9/5): Very enjoyable, may stay again! - The location was only minutes from town however very quiet and peaceful location. We really liked the decor and the furnishings in the property made it feel very homey. Would have preferred proper towels as the ones provided were very poor.

- Kim (10/5): Fun , exploring the surrounding areas - Perfect location. ,clean , quirky .comfortable stay
- O (10/5): Top accommodation - A beautiful cottage a lot of nostalgia from years gone by. Very comfortable Door handle to main bedroom needs some attention and back door lock tricky to shut unless you use the deadlock.
- Angus (7/5): Good -
- Mango (9/5): Its a lovely old house that has everything you need for a comfortable stay. - It has a nice fire in the living room and a gas heater in the dinner room. Needs a bigger toaster
- Julie (6/5): Quaint cottage, nicely appointed - Very nostalgic, good location, value for money Shower not suitable for elderly.
- Wendy (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay - The wooden step treads on the rear stairs require attention as they are not flat/level
- Belinda (10/5): We had a very enjoyable stay at Dillion cottage. The host was wonderful to deal with. - The location was perfect especially as we were dinning at Anna's restaurant. The welcome bottle of wine was a lovely surprise and the cottage was gorgeous.
- Sonya (10/5): Very enjoyable stay with great accommodation - Location and facilities are great. Price was very good. Easy to access and staff were very helpful. Nothing
- Kl13579 (10/5): Fantastic cozy cottage, short walk to town. - Dillons Cottage was a fantastic place to stay. The photos do not do this charming cottage justice, it absolutely exceeded our expectations! We were very impressed with how cozy and homely the cottage felt. The communication with the owner was always prompt and friendly. We were a short 10 minute walk from town and it was a very peaceful location. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed available to us, plenty of glasses, towels, etc. There was nothing else we could have needed. The fairy lights at night time on the front veranda and back deck were a lovely touch. Highly recommend Dillons Cottage to anyone travelling to Stanthorpe! Wish we stayed longer!
