Guest Reviews
- Susan (10/5): A perfect countryside getaway for families, grandparents, and dogs. - We loved our stay in the chalet. It was perfect for someone with a disability — very accessible and comfortable throughout. The location was ideal: close enough to the shops for convenience, yet far enough away to truly enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Waking up each morning to see the cows and sheep, and hearing the birds singing, was such a lovely experience. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed and honestly exceeded our expectations. The whole chalet was even better than we imagined, and we would happily stay again. We had nothing negative to say about our stay — everything was wonderful.
- Leonard W (10/5): Marvelous 10 stars - It’s unique and very special Nothing
- Ronald (10/5): - The cows Not much
- claudia (9/5): Great house, great location, great company (pets allowed) - Location is great
Allowing pets is fantastic
- SIMON (10/5): Love it! - The setting - beautiful
- Dannie (10/5): -
- Angela (9/5): Lovely stay, thank you 🙏🏽 - Clean. Beautiful. Fully equipped. A good coffee machine would’ve upped it to 10/10 ☺️
- Lucy (8/5): - The home was in a great location and our boardercollie loved every minute! Place was clean and tidy. That you couldn't lock the front door from inside, it was a little hard with a toddler opening/ closing the front door.
- Karen (9/5): A very comfortable stay in the midst of nature - Very comfortable stay with our family of four and a dog. Everything was provided for and it felt like a home away from home. It's lovely living alongside cattle in such close proximity to the house. We had beautiful blue wrens visit and even chanced upon a giant lizard in our backyard. Sheila was great to deal with and very accommodating. Would have been good if cloth bath mats were provided. The rubber ones in the bathroom didn't prevent the floor from getting wet after showering.
- Cassandra (10/5): A hidden gem. - The property is located rurally but well located for exploring the beautiful region. It was very clean and the amenities are great. For the avid cook, the best stocked kitchen utensils to cook up all the local goodies you pick up on your travels. The space is large and you don’t feel crowded. The outdoor area is undercover as is the BBQ. It is fenced all around for the doggies/little ones to be safe whilst exploring. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others or rebook. Sheila is very responsive to messages/calls. Thanks for a great stay!
- David (10/5): Definitely planning to bring more family to stay there in December will return definitely - The property is good great location and well equipped. Beds were so comfortable clean bedding and slept well. No complaints at all there were just here and there cobwebs but that’s minor issues
- Sean (10/5): -
- Nicolina (10/5): A awesome spot for a family vacation, central location to explore Margaret River. - The house was very comfortable, and great for a large family. The farm was serene and it was great having the farm animals around. There was a trampoline and cubby house for the kids, and they had a great time playing on the lawn - it's a good idea to bring a cricket kit and soccer ball! The property is very central, and a great spot from which to explore Maragret River and surrounds. There is a great beach and several wine farms very close.
- Me (9/5): -
- Jamali (10/5): Best experience - Very homely and comfortable
- Sachit (8/5): - Wonderful location and nicely secluded. It would have been good if we had more than 1 knife in the kitchen.
- Wade (9/5): - Beautiful property and great accommodation. Very peaceful.
- Graeme (10/5): - Lovely place. So relaxing in the beautiful surroundings with 360 farms views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Stewart (10/5): -
- andrew (6/5): Was disappointed not a luxury retreat bath tub is different to hot tub. Bed was comfortable but overpriced - Sauna was okay but no hot tub? Trees, shrubs over grown around the outdoor bath tub and on the way to the sauna area and driveway. Spiders and webs in the unit.
- Claire (10/5): -
- Linda (10/5): -
- Lloyd (10/5): Excellent stay . Luxurious home plenty of room and a wonderful farm.everything provided for a memorable stay in Margaret - Amazing property on a beautiful farm. That we couldn’t stay longer
- Seanroyde (10/5): Beautiful property, very well maintained, and excellent surroundings - The home is located in a beautiful and remote area that is very well maintained by the owners. The owners are very friendly and communicate promptly. The house is very clean and beautifully maintained with excellent decor, furniture, and modern appliances. The surroundings have picturesque views of green pastures, cows , sheep, and the blue wren birds. We enjoyed our daily walks, and our dogs had a wonderful time, too. Nothing, everything was excellent
- Swati (10/5): - Beautiful property ,, forget all our stress … love watching cows and my dog was so happy staring at cows .. kids had fun at trampoline ..
- Diane (10/5): Great short stay at Redgate. - We enjoyed the location and privacy of each home within its own garden, fenced so the dogs can run freely.
The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed.
The walking areas were easily accessible and maintained.
- Sharon (10/5): Fabulous place for a group or large family stay. - Beautiful farm views, great location, very comfortable facilities .
- Moana (10/5): Peaceful getaway from the city, highly recommended accommodation, we will definitely be back in the future - Beautiful, spacious, clean, well equipped, peaceful, everything you need for a few days away
- Karen (10/5): Great Rural Getaway! - Great location to get away from it all, but close enough to easily get into Margaret River. Lovely forest walk at the edge of the property.
- Alvin (8/5): We love the chalets and its location. Surrounded by nature & glad to have a herd of cattles grazing at our backyard. - Tranquil & Quiet environment. Love the sounds of trees when the wind is sweeping through them. Everything is great, except for the bathroom. Good to have a separate shower head with a flexible hose.
- Stephy (10/5): Exceptional - The property is spacious, located in a farm, the scene is superb!
- Jemina (10/5): Modern and spacious farmhouse. - The view is stunning, a lot of land in the property so you don’t hear or see the neighbours, it’s not far from the town but so peaceful.
Very spacious and no steps inside the house, perfect for travelling with elderly or people with mobility difficulties.
Lovely decorated, hairdryer, laundry, quality kitchen appliances, crockery, pots, dishwasher, also has some very practical extras like aluminium foil, sugar, tea, etc, basically all you need.
Big rooms as well, perfect for big families or groups. The property has a farm close enough to enjoy seeing the animals but far enough to not get the smell.
The big smart tv with that comfy couch made it feel just like home.
Thank you so much for having us, for letting us watch you feed the cows and for your advice on must see spots. We will be back! One bathroom shower was completely open, didn’t have a shower curtain so was a bit messy but mop was available so wasn’t a big problem.
- Jason (10/5): Great stay overall, great value for money, definitely coming again. - Location is very conveniently close to Witchcliffe town (5 mins), Margaret River town (14 mins), and Redgate Beach (13 mins). Plenty of wineries and other attractions around. It's a great place for families with kids as they have plenty of cows and sheep on the farm. The owner kindly offered us the opportunity to feed the cows and sheep.
There is plenty of space in each house and room, tidy, and functional. Kitchen's are quite well kitted out to make many dishes. For those with young toddlers, each house has a high chair available. Only one thing, was that some beds did sag quite a bit when laying down. Personal preference here in the end, but for someone who needs some support around the lower back, was a bit sore after a few days.
- Molly (10/5): Fabulous holiday for two families (and a dog!) - Thank you Sheila for the best holiday we have ever had with our two little families. Four adults, four children (all under 5), and one dog stayed at Maya and had a beautiful, relaxing and fun stay. We loved the serenity of Maya and the whole property is stunning. Our boys especially loved exploring the forest and getting to feed the cows. We will definitely be back! Thank you Sheila.
- Luo (9/5): Superb -
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Would be good to have some overhead lighting over large outdoor table for evening meals.
- Miller (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property, peaceful farm location. Loved waking up to cows and sheep on either side. Super pet friendly property, lots of space for all the family. Great location between Margaret River and all attractions. Only a minor issue but the beds were quite hard. Personal preference though as I'm used to a super soft bed.
- Sarah (10/5): A house amongst the pastures! Divine! - The location was beautiful, and the house was super clean.
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neala (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gill.marsden (9/5): Definitely come again!! Awesome holiday home! - The fence around each of the properties was perfect for the dogs. The beds were comfy and the house came with lots of appliances and amenities. We wanted to stay for a bit longer and were able to do that. Such awesome people. Honestly nothing. It was such a nice stay.

- Jessica (9/5): Superb - I enjoyed the property size and the outdoor facilities for pets. The BBQ area and garden with a view of the paddock and cows was wonderful! We arrived later than check in time and the cleaners were still cleaning the property. We were told to wait outside until they were done. Other than this everything was great.

- Kate (10/5): A relaxing family holiday stay in the country! - It was homely and very comfortable. The kids felt so safe and enjoyed playing outside - there was no asking for screen time during the day! The adults could genuinely relax with the kids so happy. A fire pit and better lighting outside would be fabulous to spend extra time on the patio in the winter.
Extra towels for a week long stay would be great for those mums hoping to avoid using the washing machine 😂

You have the best of both worlds, stunning sunsets when on the front porch with cattle roaming around, and they're friendly too! And lovely trees at the back when enjoying a BBQ in the great area created for relaxing! The hostess is very friendly and a lovely caring person! Thank you for having us, we'll definitely be back!

We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of Perth city life and enjoy the wonders of Margaret River with our fur baby Doberman Daisy, and this place did not disappoint. The accommodation is stunning, the location is stunning, the wildlife and farm animals are stunning, everything about this place is just stunning. Waking up to the mini cows out the patio and settling down in the evening with the Kookaburras going wild at Dusk. It was all such an experience.
