Guest Reviews

- Anna (10/5): - Extremely beautiful location, perfect to calm down and enjoy the surrounding
- Melany (10/5): The best time I have spent in South America. - I loved waking up with the howler monkeys, the delicious breakfast and the lovely couple who took care of us. The location was secluded and the views and the breezes were the most beautiful i have ever seen. This was the highlight of my trip to South America. I only wish that I had come here first.

- Katherine (10/5): Definitely would recommend - A unique location, stylish accommodation and friendly service. All the rooms are lovely but it’s worth paying extra for one of the bigger rooms if available - the views are incredible.
- Alejandra (10/5): Perfect place to stay — peaceful, breathtaking, and full of care - This is a perfect place to disconnect and rest, surrounded by nature.
The cabin has a spectacular view that you’ll never get tired of. The service is excellent from the moment you make the reservation, they provide all the information you need and are attentive throughout your stay. At night, you can see the stars and realize you’re staying in the thousand-star cabin.
Thank you to Mia and Juli for making the experience unforgettable. Everyone should have the chance to visit this place
- Jeremy (8/5): Beautiful locations. Good breakfast. No hot shower. - The staff was super kind and offered delicious coffee and breakfast every morning. Actually it is one of the best breakfasts we have gotten on our trip, and it seemed local and traditional. The staff were attentive to our needs. The mosquito net was really good and kept bugs out. The room is beautiful and so is the house. Very unique location. No hot water in the shower. Room was not cleaned all of the days we were there which we were a bit disappointed about, especially because of the humidity, bugs and the result it had on the restroom. That would have been nice the next time to allow for a super comfortable stay.
- Angie (10/5): Amazing experience! - Overall, this accommodation met all our expectations from the room to the food. What stood out the most was the exceptional service provided by Juliana during our stay. She was very kind, and the breakfast she prepared was exquisite. Highly recommend this stay!!
- Rachel (10/5): Gorgeous - Absolutely stunning experience.
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olivia (7/5): Beautifully remote, totally surrounded by nature however no amenities, expect bugs and power outages - It is a gorgeous scenery. The cabin was beautifully designed. Breakfast was delicious. To be completely surrounded by nature, with a view of the sea was truly special. The shower only had a trickle of water. When the power went out, the reception did not check in and did not offer support, such as candles. The candles in our room were finished. There was barely any staff on property which was a challenge during the heavy storm, without internet or cell service.
This accommodation is not well suited for the elderly, those with physical impediments or those with a lot of baggage as you have to walk a 30 minutes up a hilly path, not paved through the jungle. The 4x4 could take us about 75% of the way. When you reach the property you still have to walk about 5 minutes up hill to the cabin.
- Amparo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cristina (8/5): Very good -
- Todd (10/5): Incredible nature-centric property although it lacks some conveniences of less remote hotels. - INCREDIBLE views, kind staff, and delicious breakfasts. Quite remote, so no easy way to get dinner, and you’ll probably want to call a taxi or motorbike to get in and out from the property. There is a bus stop down on the highway (~12 min walk). No wifi in some of the cabins.
- Silke (9/5): Great place to stay - I stayed 3 nights there. The view is abolutley brilliant. The room was nice and clean. It had even an AC. Yuli was preparing the best breakfasts. You can watch hummingbirds.
They are all over the place. If you dont want to walk up there you can ask for a motortaxi. Giovanni is the best driver. He can take you on the bike there. All good
- Mara (10/5): Become one with nature - You’ll live in an accommodation, which is in the middle if the nature, with a view to the ocean. You can enjoy silent moments and observe the hummingbirds.
The owner of La Casita del Bosque was available all the time and supported us with all our needs immediately. Also the lady, who was at the location was supportive and warm-hearted.
We can absolutely recommend this beautiful place.
- Rita (10/5): An unique experience - So special, such amazing cabin and bed!! The staff is sooooooi nice, the garden, the pets, the animals and nature around. It’s hard to get to if you just need to sleep or at night!! But perfect if you want to immerse yourself in nature. Super nice for couples!
- Menzies (10/5): Exceptional - This was our favourite accomodation in Colombia. It had the most amazing view over the rainforest and ocean, especially at sunrise when the sky lit up bright pink and you could hear the call of the howler moneys and animals in the rainforest. It was cleaned everyday, the staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious and walking through Tyrona national park was wonderful too.
- Denis (10/5): Exceptional - The owner is exceptionally nice and helped with figuring out many things regarding the stay in the area. The hut was beautiful and peaceful, a highlight of my Colombia trip. Be aware of the fact that it is in a forest, so you will get to see insects and potentially even small animals. If you have a problem with that, then it might not be the most suitable place - but I actually loved being in a quiet place in the middle of nature.
- Alejandra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything looks exactly like the pictures. Full nature mode; it was amazing. Its a bit far from the road, but at the same time thats the beauty of the place
- Ever (10/5): Feel like Heaven on Earth - The place was wonderful, we stayed in the El Hobo room, and, it was just amazing. You can see the whole sunrise and it seems like every part of the sky is yours to enjoy.
There is a lot of nature, you're literally in a jungle. You wake up with all of the bugs and bird sounds and a view full of butterflies.
Johanna, our host was very attentive to details and the breakfast was perfect, well balanced and tasty.
The kitchen is yours and it was fully equipped.
If you wanna escape and find a place for you and your special person, that's your place. Everything was perfect
- Harley (10/5): An incredible experience! - The perfect escape to the jungle, we spent 2 nights at La Casita del Bosque, located just outside of Tayrona National Park.
We absolutely loved it here, a perfect place to relax in the jungle and great location to explore the surrounding area on the coastal bus. The owner and workers were so kind and welcoming!
Great facilities to cook and you can even get a takeaway delivered from local restaurants to your cabin! They also do a banging breakfast, local dishes and Colombian coffee A steep and hot hike to the accom, but they do offer a motorbike service, we lived to regret not taking that! Don’t let that put you off but worth knowing
- Norah (10/5): Peaceful stay in the jungle - Quite naturally placed in middle of the jungle between a lot of trees that produce, great atmosphere and food It’s a bit far from the street if you don’t have motorcycles or car it would be hard to walk it’s long a bit for daily commute
- Liz (9/5): Incredible experience at Casita Del Bosque! We loved being fully immersed in jungle life. - Such a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. The view was incredible and accommodations were comfortable. Host Angie was friendly and able to meet all our requests. Very remote but expected. Great place to just relax and enjoy nature.
- Jasmine (10/5): Perfect jungle paradise! - An amazingly peaceful, tranquil, jungle escape that was exactly what I was looking for. This property is absolutely gorgeous! I liked that it was off the beaten track but still nice and close to the main road to walk to beaches or catch a bus to various sites. Incredible value, lovely breakfast, and only 3 or 4 rooms so it has a nice intimate guesthouse feel. The kitchen was fantastic for cooking and I loved the balcony to watch the sunset and hummingbirds. I stayed in the queen room close to the main dwelling and it was comfortable, but definitely try to reserve one of the standalone king room bungalows, they are absolutely magic! I didn’t want to leave and kept extending my stay. Johanna the host is very friendly too. The actual walk from the main road to the property was more like 12-15mins so really not that far (but yes steep and uneven in parts) and totally worth it for the peace and beauty.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erik (10/5): Loved our stay here. Angie was an awesome host and very helpful. - Beautiful property. Felt like we were right in the middle of the jungle. Lots of pretty plants and cool insects.
- Martin (10/5): Peace and quiet - Peace and quiet, views
- Rich_358 (10/5): 3 nights at La Casita Del Bosque - Probably the best place I've stayed in South America, amazing value for money. As soon as we arrived we immediately booked an extra night. A completely private cabin in the jungle with unbelievable views, massive comfy bed with a good mosquito net so you have no insects when sleeping. Fridge/ freezer, fan, huge balcony with 2 hammocks, a net over the jungle too. Johanna the owner was so nice, welcoming and helpful, she had created a little map to show all the nearby things to do, including local tips like how to get to Los naranjos beach without staying in one of the hotels there, also shops / restaurants, etc.. you could contact her anytime via WhatsApp and she would get straight back to you.
She helped us order food from a local restaurant and organised the delivery, paid in cash (as we stupidly didn't bring enough) and hand delivered the food to our cabin. We then paid her along with the room with card.
She has the nicest dogs & cats too.
Breakfast was delicious and different every morning, when we arrived we could request a time for breakfast which was really nice.
The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, all insects where removed, because of this and the mosquito net, the insect situation really wasn't too bad for being in the middle of the jungle.
I would 100% come back here. Obviously it's a bit remote so bare that in mind, it's not too bad but you're talking 15-20 minute walk into the jungle from the main road, some steep bits that can be slippy if it's rained, this can be a struggle in mid day heat with 30kg worth of backpacks. It also means going back and forth is maybe a 40 minute round trip so once your out for the day you should stay out and come back before sunset. For us, this made the dinner situation tricky, because it is in the jungle you don't want to walk back at night, we did this once in the rain and it wasn't easy using a phone torch trying to avoid snakes, so it means you ideally want to be back at the cabin before sunset, but, for us atleast, this was too early to eat, and with food supplies in the stores being very limted, it was hard to cook. What you can do though is order food from a nearby restaurant and they will deliver it to the main house, this was really handy but it's not the cheapest and it feels like a bit of an inconvenience on Johanna the host and she arranges it all, you just WhatsApp her your order. It would be good in the future if they offered a basic dinner service like they do with breakfast.
With the room, there's not much to criticise really, especially for the price. A few suggestions:
We stayed in the top cabin and the water pressure wasn't great.
tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be a nice touch.
Citronella or bug repellent candles or scent in the room.
- Annie (10/5): Charming jungle getaway - The hospitality, kindness, and attention of the staff really made our stay memorable. The cabins are new, clean, spacious and each have beautiful views of the jungle and sea. We loved waking up to jungle sounds and he sunrise. We were also able to use the well-equipped kitchen. It was well worth the 1km jungle trek up and down a steep road!!
- Magdalena (10/5): Perfect place to relax with special welcoming vibe. - The place is located in the forest. It’s a 10 minute walk from the main road. Which makes it an advantage cause the walk is beautiful. What makes the place extra special is how nice Joanna and Claudia are. When you arrive they give you a ton of suggestions and advise what to do and where to go. It’s the perfect place to spend some quiet time and relax in nature in beautiful accommodation.
- Harriet (9/5): Stunning view and gorgeous hotel - The view from the house over the mountains and jungle is incredible. The room was gorgeous with an outside bathroom. The host was accomodating of an issue we made in the booking, and also careful with our food allergies. It is a steep and dark hike to the house which felt a little unsafe. Wouldn't recommend it alone, but you can take a taxi.
- Arjan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mihail (10/5): memorable - Amazing sea views, super comfortable bed, yummy food, helpful host, all around amazing rest
variety of animal kingdom surrounds the forest and the house (: Its a bit off road (15 mins) so going out/returning twice a day is a but difficult with the extreme heat and no vehicle - but all this is mentioned in the booking
- Ada (9/5): Superb - The view from our room was just unbeatable. So mesmerizing!
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Unforgettable experience at the Casita del Bosque. The most incredible location surrounded by nature (featuring monkeys and colibrís!!). The kindest hosts who will go out of their way to solve any problems you have. Thoughtful and generous. The cabins are super nice too. Don't worry about the walk to the place, it's part of the experience (and you can always grab a lift if you've got big bags etc). 10/10.
- Alexander (10/5): Beautiful jungle retreat - It’s a wonderful quiet place just like you can see on the pictures. We loved every second of our stay. Yes, the path to get there can be a bit challenging especially if you carry luggage, but it honestly makes the place even more beautiful. You can reach the entrance of Tayrona, beautiful beaches and restaurants in just a few minutes from main street (walking or bus). We’d definitely come back!
- Lauren (9/5): The perfect treehouse experience. - Absolutely stunning location, quiet, peaceful, and romantic. I woke up every morning to birds chirping and a beautiful sunrise. We stayed in the king room which was very private and comfortable. A delicious breakfast was served every morning and Jose was so friendly and helpful with getting us takeout food to our room and info about Tayrona. The dogs and cats on site are a treat as well. The property is a bit far from Tayrona National Park and public beaches, but there is a bus to Tayrona and Jose provided maps, info, and taxi numbers for getting around.
- Alessandro (10/5): We’d like to thank all the team including Kaiser and Dante. They helped us having our best stay in our Colombian trip - Everything. The location is super nice, with fantastic view and you have any comfort in the room even if you are in the middle of the jungle: long size bed with fab mattress, huge bathroom, hammocks in the balcony etc.
Breakfast is also very good and complete (special mention for the superb cayeye!).
They are in a remote location but there are valid food delivery and eating in the jungle is a superb experience that will liase you with nature.
Finally, staff were great in providing hint and tips on what to visit and how that helped us avoid the Easter crowd in Tayrona park (where possible) Nothing at all. It is true that the location is a bit remote (20 min walk in a secondary unpaved road in the jungle) but it is well communicated by them and they offer services to avoid the walk.
- Veerle (10/5): Breathtaking views - Wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful peace and nature of the region. The property is very remote so ideal to fully relax. Birds, butterflies and wonderful plants full of flowers enchant your stay. The views are breathtaking. The very kind owners help you to arrive to the place by jeep if needed. You need to climb some stairs to get to the breakfast area and the place itself. Not an issue for me but people with reduced mobility should be aware. Delicious breakfast. /
- Christian (10/5): Awesome nature vibe. The host Jose is a really chill dude! -
- Marwan (10/5): Heaven on earth. A journey to remember. - I liked everything. Its clean, comfortable, in a breathtaking location. Jose was a great friend and super helpful in everything. Words cant describe how serrne and beautiful and powerful this place. I will come back again and again when the opportunity comes. Gracias 🫶🏼
- Valeria (10/5): Incredible stay! - Exceptional stay at Casita del Bosque! José was incredibly accommodating and helpful, the views were insane, the bed extremely comfortable, and overall the room we stayed in was perfectly isolated and calm (couldn't even hear the road, but you could definitely hear the waves of the sea at night!). The breakfast was freshly prepared every morning and we were treated to local specialities such as cayeye! We would come back in a heartbeat!
About the "trek" to get there, we'd say it was more along the lines of 10minutes, and we did it in flip-flops multiple times without a problem, so don't be intimidated by the description! The shower pressure wasn't perfect but is probably expected given how hard it must be to bring water to the location - just something to keep in mind for future visitors so there aren't any surprises!
- Brando (10/5): If you want to recharge and disconnect from the city, this is your place. The hike to arrive is 15 minutes from the stre - Beautiful property in the middle of nature. Sublime breakfast and the view from the room was unparalleled.
- Evthoxia (10/5): Stunning cabana accomodation - The cabana we stayed in was one of the most beautiful forest accommodations we have ever stayed at. The view was stunning from our room, simply spectacular. The room itself was very spacious and cosy. The breakfast was the best we have had in Colombia, super fresh and each day something different. Our hosts were very helpful in giving us advise, organising our dinner and helping us by driving our bags from the entrance of the property (it’s a long uphill hike)
- Manuel (10/5): Connection with Nature - This place looks like a heaven on Earth if you're looking for a place in deep connection with Nature! The room was absolutely great and clean. The private bathroom is outdoor (but you can access directly from the room) with the shower literally in the forest is simply amazing. The bed is super comfortable and it has a mosquito net to protect you from any insects while sleeping. Johanna and her partner are lovely people and ready to help you with anything! Definitely recommended. Gracias Johanna, hasta pronto :)
- Tereraim (10/5): Our stay was perfect. Nature around is stunning, the atmosphere super nice and chill. - The contact with nature, delicious breakfast, super nice and helpful staff
- Niccolo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ermir (10/5): A beautiful, tranquil spot in the forest with welcoming and engaged hosts. - We felt very welcomed by the hosts Johanna and her partner, they were super attentive and supported us with any questions we had. Furthermore, the place is stunning, it truly lives up to its name, since you feel like you are in the middle of the forest, we even saw monkeys from our balcony. Also the breakfast is very rich and typically colombian. There's really nothing to criticize :) Having the possibility to make coffee or tea in the rooms would be an amazing addition as well as having an alternative to ordering in food from other restaurants in the evenings (such as maybe being able to have a simple dinner at the main house).
- Jasmine (10/5): Jungle oasis - Jungle setting away from the crowds and loud parties. Beautiful gardens and beds were comfy. I loved having an outdoor shower. Breakfasts are authentic and delicious. You are meant to feel at home, which I completely felt. All other beaches, hikes and parks are just a short bus ride down the road. Johanna spoke fairly good English so was able to help me out with any directions. If you wanted to just chill and take breathtaking surroundings, watch the hummingbirds play and recharge this is the perfect place. I will stay again next time I'm here without hesitation. This place is magic! Bring snacks and other beverages with you or back with you from your outings because there's no food offered outside of breakfast. In the evening for dinner you can order from a few of the restaurants around and they'll deliver to you at the house.
Just like much of the beautiful settings in Colombia, you have to work for it. To get to the main road and back to the house you need to trek along an up and down challenging path with many stairs. You can arrange to have help bring your luggage up with 4x4. Johanna also arranged taxi service to pick up for transport to airport.
- Stephen (10/5): An oasis of calm & beauty - one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! - La Casita is heaven! An oasis of calm in a sea of tourism - the property is located in and above the tree tops of the Sierra Nevada jungle, with bird song and flowers all around, yet within 20min access by foot to the coastal road and lots of lovely Caribbean beaches & good restaurants. Breakfasts were delicious - we stayed 6 nights, and every day the breakfast were different. Our bed was huge and the best we’ve had in Colombia. Johanna and Jose couldn’t do enough to help us and the welcome was wonderful. We like everything about the place & didn’t want to leave! As others have commented, the walk from the road isn’t easy - though we’re in our 60s and managed ok. Also Jose & Johana we’re there to help with luggage for arrival & departure (& sometimes in between). Water pressure in the top cabin is also a bit low.
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - Waking up from the sunrise, seeing nothing and no one but the beautiful forest and the sea has been a dream. This amazing house among the trees has been my most beautiful and serene accomodation in my months of travel in South America. I truly felt blessed. And as a cherry in top, Johanna was extremely nice and helpful and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I wish I could return one day... -
- Mesut (10/5): Great! - Great people running the place with a beautiful view. Also, the breakfast was amazing. Nothing negative to say.
- Tally (10/5): A lovely place! Highly reccomended. Beautiful view from the room, lovely nature and really quit. Also a great breakfast - The room, the bed and ofcourse the nature and the view! -
- Suzanne (9/5): A gem of a place hidden away in the trees immersed in nature in a beautiful setting - The location was peaceful and tranquil with amazing views and bird sounds It was a trek up a steep track to get to the property but we didn't mind that and the hosts offered a lift if needed We had our own bungalow with all the amenities we needed Breakfast was fabulous on the terrace listening to the birds and looking out through the trees No evening meal provided and no restaurants nearby although we were told food could be ordered in if required
- Charlotte (10/5): Beautiful stay and exceeded all our expectations - The breakfast was delicious and at such a lovely spot on the terrace of Joanna's house! The casita we stayed in was beautiful - a massive comfy bed and incredible views out to the sea. The garden on your approach to the house is full of butterflies. We saw birds, stick insects, huge butterflies. Joanna was really helpful with maps of park Tayrona and walks / trips nearby. We ordered food to the casita and Juancho's had an excellent menu and all really tasty too! The shower could be a little hotter and more powerful - but only a tiny criticism - this place was really wonderful!
- Suzanne (10/5): LOVED this! The setting is just amazing. The cabins clean and comfortable. -
- Alina (10/5): Exceptional - It's my second time in La Casita del Bosque and I'll definitely be back again - so beautiful, immersed in nature, amazing views, wonderful people. 100% recommend!
- Solene (10/5): Incredible!! Will come back asap - What a wonderful stay we had!
The room was incredibly spacious and had a wonderful view. The terrace had two hammocks so we could both enjoy the relaxing views and sounds of the forest. It is a secluded area and you will need to walk a good 15min to get to the hotel, but the peace and beauty are well worth it.
Breakfast was included and we feasted! It had a homemade vibe to it, and we ate something different everyday. For other meals, the hosts offer a delivery service from restaurants in the area. Drinking water is available at all times.
The hosts are incredibly kind, hardworking, and love the area. They have a lot of great tips for you to enjoy your stay and explore the surroundings! They are by far the best hosts we have ever encountered and will come back the moment we can!
This place respects the nature around it, and it feels wonderful to be able to reconnect with nature in such a comfortable manner. The only thing I would recommend working on is the shower, as the water comes very slowly/thinly. This is a veryyyyy minor thing, though!!
- Pavel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Johannes (10/5): Exceptional - The Casita en el Bosque in the tropical forest of north Colombia is such a gem. José picked us up from the airport and we even could stop for some groceries and to have lunch. He had great recommondations regarding lunch and activities.
The view from the casita was unbelievable with beautiful sunrises over the Sierra Nevada. The surrounding forest is full of birds and butterflies.
Parque Tayrona is close by and other beautiful sides such as Quebrada Valencia.
The breakfast is super „rico“ with local foods such as arepa (corn pancake) and cayeye (green banana puree).
A total 10/10 for all who love nature.
- Marianne (10/5): 4 days of pure bliss in the middle of the jungle. we would have stayed longer if we have had more time. very sad to leav - Everything! It's a paradise in the jungle!! Beautiful jungle houses with very comfy beds, the best views over the trees, very helpful and friendly owners. Close to the beaches and national park. The nature is just amazing! You can use the kitchen and cook your own food, order from restaurants or get breakfast from the owners. Its all very clean and comfy and still you are in the middle of the jungle. Perfect to relax or have an adventure in the jungle or both 😀 Nothing, everything was perfect!
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - It is a wonderful location, better than staying by the sea. The access through steps is more than compensated by the absence of car or street noise. You are going to be in contact with nature. Breakfast is one of the best I had in Colombia and the kindness of Jose and the other people attending the property has a better value than the money you pay.
I highly recommended it.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - The views were incredible. On a clear day you can see the Caribbean and the snow capped mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - pretty amazing contrast. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is amazing. Our host Jose was fantastic and was very patient when it came to communicating through our very poor Spanish. Jose drove us to the El Zaino gate and Playa Los Angeles shortening some big days in the park and surrounding area. The two dogs Kaiser and Dante were an added bonus!
- Theo (7/5): Good - Great views and friendly staff Very hot even at night with fans, lots of mosquitoes (only a net over the bed for protection, everything else is open air), very hard to get anywhere and there is nothing around (no restaurants, no shops).
- Ivan (9/5): Wonderful host, wonderful breakfast, wonderful views. If you’re afraid of dogs, can be problematic, as there are two lar - Wonderful host, wonderful breakfast, wonderful views If you’re afraid of dogs, can be problematic, as there are two large dogs in the common house
- Abby (10/5): Jungle paradise - Incredible scenery, with nothing but jungle surrounding you and the most spectacular sunrise right outside your bedroom doors.
Best breakfast we have had in Colombia so far - we arrived to reception area to be greeted with a nice coffee within 20 seconds, followed by a cold juice, then a traditional and delicious breakfast (Cayeye) then fruit and granola too!
Lovely staff, always available to help. Johanna even drove us to a nearby local walk (with no tourists) to some cold pools to cool down in the heat when we arrived - lovely and refreshing! It is quite a walk up the hill to the property. It’s long, very uphill and very rural (rocky, muddy). So with big bags in the heat it was pretty tough.
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place, rooms and host. We really enjoyed!
- Anna (10/5): Exceeded all of our expectations - Johanna is amazing, so is the place and so are her staff. - The breakfast was exceptional, the location was one of a kind with breath taking views. Nothing
- Chelsea (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing host and wonderful location. The views were outstanding and the breakfast was perfect. Wifi was down in the room and there is no cell signal. This wasnt an issue for this particular weekend but as I work remote, if I had a project I would have needed to leave. Its something I would have prefered to have been told before I arrived becuase of this.
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- María (10/5): Finding magic peace in nature! - It's a magical place. Day and night the sounds of nature were a reminder to relax and enjoy every minute of my short visit. Love the paths going to the forest or to the beach. Delicious breakfast and beautiful view of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Thank you guys!
- Mauricio (10/5): You wouldn’t like to leave this fantastic place - Literally the best house I ever rented. Amazing view, amazing landscape, amazing sunset, amazing bed, amazing bathroom, amazing balcony, amazing breakfast and amazing hosts. I’ll be back for sure! 100% recommend. To leave
- Sanne (10/5): It was an AMAZING couple stay in nature with the cutest host - The place was sooooo beautiful! We felt like we were all by ourselves in the beautiful nature of Colombia! with a view at the sea! nothing :)
- Fabian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional - the views, the cabaña, the dog it was quite a hustle to get into the property, maybe 30 minutes walk which with a luggage wasnt really fun so just be aware of that and arrange a transportation
- Emily (10/5): Absolutely breathtaking views, lovely staff and delicious breakfast - Stunning views, very private & remote, the best breakfast we had in Colombia This was NOT a downside for us, but there is a lot of stairs to the reception / cabanas (even from the end of the dirt road). Make sure you are willing and able
- Mathias.rehmund (10/5): Paradise in the jungle next to the ocean - There is not enough space to write about everything we liked.
Just come and see for yourself. A quiet space in the middle of the jungle with everything that comes with it.
Amazing host and really comfortable cabin - no air conditioning needed!
Just keep in mind that you will be entering the jungle, make sure to come with backpacks like mentioned.
- Geert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francesca (9/5): Lovely wooden houses in a tropical garden with wonderful views. - The place is really stunning. The wooden house is located in a beautiful tropical garden with lots of plants, flowers and colourful birds. The staff were brilliant with us. The room is simple but spacious. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Very close to Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona (5 minutes bus). It is not easy to get there without a 4x4 (it is a 15/20-minute walk/hiking from the main road - entrance to the private road is opposite Playa Los Angeles) and there are no restaurants nearby. However, the staff helped us with the transfer and organised food delivery. Perhaps the cleaning of the room could be improved (dust, etc.). There are no cash machines nearby.
- Charlene (10/5): We had an amazing experience in a very quiet and pristine location. It was overwhelming. - Its situated in the beautiful Colombian tropical woods but not too far from the main road and Coast. The location has a fantastic view to the sea and in the back to the hills with only 2 huts/rooms. We were the only guests on the property. its the perfect tranquil getaway to switch off!!! It has a lot of steep steps to climb to get to the rooms. Don’t bring suitcases! instead only a backpack.
- Gonçalo (8/5): Get yourself involved in the nature with no wifi. it really feels good. - Location is amazing.
Very friendly staff The access is simple from the main road but it’s not easy to do it with the luggages. It’s something that should be included to do it with the pick up, and not charge us more for that.
- Tobias (9/5): Superb -
- Ieva (10/5): Exceptional - If I could I would give this place 11/10. We went to Tayrona and other places around the area, but nothing beats this one. We liked it so much that we extended our stay.
It is located in the jungle, remotely from any other houses/hotels, the only noise you get is the jungle sounds.
Terraces overview the jungle and the sea. The house we lived in "El Hobo" was super clean and tidy. Bed&pillows really comfortable.
Hosts Jose and Johanna were wonderful. Easy to communicate, very warm and polite. All the tips that Jose gave us about things to do&see were the ones we liked the most (calm, out of the crowds).
Breakfast was delicious everyday.
Honestly, it's the best.
If we are ever back to Colombia, no doubt we will book this place again.
Thanks for having us. Kisses to Kaiser!

- Winnie (9/5): Perfect way to relax your body and soul. - It’s a paradise! Take the cabaña on the top of the hill which is named El Hobo. It offers you the view of both sunrise on the Caribbean Sea horizon and sunset down the Tayrona. It comes with a king sized 4 poster bed with mosquito net, which looks so beautiful and majestic. The mattress is amazingly comfortable, I slept so so so well like a baby.
Since the property is tucked away from the main road ‘Troncal’, there’s absolutely no noise pollution, just the sound of nature - birds, insects and sea waves from afar. It’s so calming at night after long days of activities in Colombia. The rooms are in rustic style, and it’s constructed from scratch in 3 whole years by the owner and team.
La jefa Johanna was not there during my stay, but she was great in communications via WhatsApp, making sure everything was comfortable for me. And she speaks English too! Jose and Yohani, thank you so much, you two are amazing, made me feel home when I was there.
There were 3 options for me to spend my last 3 days in Colombia - stay on the beach (expensive if you want comfort and rooms run out fast), stay in Tayrona National Park (it’s either hostels or over priced hotels, and you need to hike for some while with your baggages both in and out of the park, and be prepared to be bitten by gnats and mosquitoes) or, choose somewhere that’s close enough for both the park and beaches, that is beautifully located in a forest for some tranquility. I chose the last with La Casita del Bosque, and it was the best decision I’ve made in my 3 weeks trip in Colombia. I’m happy with what I have got. This is a real value-for-money deal in this touristy area where people might over charge you for some comfort and space that you need.
- Joyce (10/5): Perfection - Everything was phenomenal, José and Joana were great hosts. José was the person to go to for everything! He helped me with a monstrous insect that was in the bathroom and also gave me rides up and down the road for a cost. He always ensured I was happy and content with everything, which I appreciated. The actual room was perfect, bug nets are a lifesaver and the washroom is just great. You have everything you need, plus more. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, cayeye is my favourite and everything else of course. Laundry service is also available. I would definitely stay here again, for the views, the facilities and the peaceful life. Only negative about this place was the extreme up hill and downhill hike for about 20 mins from the road to get to your room. It’s doable, it just takes some effort and determination. Otherwise everything was perfect.
