Guest Reviews
Niente
- Catherine (5/5): Passer votre chemin…….
- Anton (7/5): - It's an interesting place to stay, almost historical, with a very nice view. The place is old and needs a bit of maintenance
O lugar parecia ano somado, piso quebrado, sujo.
- Claus Donau (10/5): -
- Petr (10/5): - Excellent breakfast with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains
- Wolfgang (9/5): -
- Walter (10/5): - Amazing place. Old farm transferred to a hotel and restaurant. Very authentic place with great view and quiet and peaceful. Owner absolutely friendly and speaks English very well. Great suggestions for dinner in the restaurant. Best food we had in 2 months south America. Incredible breakfast.
- Jacques (9/5): - Le paysage et le déjeuner Rien
- Shalom (6/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): Amazing place with great staff and beautiful views - What a dreamy place! Already the setting and the courtyard are amazing. The location is peaceful, quiet and looking very beautiful. The room was lovely too. Rustic and clean. The best thing I’ve the room was this big window looking into the mountains. Staid hours looking at the landscape. The same happens on the dining (and breakfast) area: big windows looking into the mountains. A spectacular view. The staff is lovely and helpful. There is also a very nice restaurant opposite if you don’t want to drive to town (as it’s about 5 minutes drive to Payogasta. Nothing
- Simon (10/5): Excellent - Once we arrived in our room all doubts disappeared. Owner gave a warm welcome and showed us around.
Excellent breakfast accompanied by some excellent art.
Meal at restaurant across the road excellent
Very convenient for our trip
- Julien (8/5): -
- Michel (10/5): Une magnifique surprise. A découvrir.
No había agua caliente.
- charles (8/5): -
- MARK PETER RYAN (9/5): EXCELLENT - Specially ALEJANDRO & ELVIRA NOTHING
- NATALIA (5/5): Decepcionante. Potencial desaprovechado.
- Johan (10/5): Unieke ervaring - Heel vriendelijke ontvangst. Kamer met fantastisch zicht. Heel uitgebreid en lekker ontbijtbuffet in knappe ontbijtzaal. Lekkerste yoghurt ooit! Niks
Me gusto mucho!
- KEVIN (10/5): - view breakfast people room bath all pura vida.
- Valéria (9/5): Acorde olhando as montanhas! O ponto alto é acordar olhando as montanhas, simplesmente incrível .
- Braeden (9/5): What a great place in a remote part of Argentina, we loved our short stay - We loved the old world feel of this place. With the old wooden doors and window shutters and large centre court yard, we loved it. The restaurant was also very rustic but the food was amazingly delicious and the wine was very good too The bed could have been softer, but not a major issue
- Nuria (9/5): Beautiful stay in Payogasta/Cachi - This place is an absolute gem. The location is beautiful and the breakfast deck has one of the best views you can get in the area. The staff were incredibly pleasant. It can get very cold at night! Ask for an extra blanket or crank the heating.
- laura (10/5): Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura e ne siamo rimasti entusiasti.
- Silvia (10/5): Breathtaking view, magical place - The view from the room and from the breakfast area is breathtaking ! The location in itself is very charming, clean and well kept, and breakfast was delicious. We felt very sorry for staying only one night.
- John (10/5): Fantastic experience! - Staying at this real functioning estancia was one of the highlights of our trip through South America. Alejandro and Elvira were amazing hosts, who made us feel extremely welcome and treated us like family. The property is amazing, and the views from the dining room are incredible. Comfortable beds, a great shower, and a delicious breakfast in the morning!
- Michael (8/5): Another World. Another Time. - We were sent back in time. Very interesting environment in many aspects. Good food and wine. A veranda outside the room facing the incredible mountain view would have been just perfect.
- Laura (10/5): WONDERFUL !! I hope I have the opportunity to go back. it was fantastic! - The view was phenomenal. Breakfast in front of the mountains. Staff extremely friendly. We had a power cut the whole night we stayed but it didn't bother us as everything was made to make us feel confortable.
Wished you could have stayed longer.
Very recommendable location
- Anne-sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Very scenic place, helpful personnel, nice restaurant. /
- Claus (10/5): Being in heaven - At the suggestion of an Argentinian artist friend, we spent three full days here, which were some of the happiest days of our two-month trip to Argentina. La Sala da Payogasta is a rare find in the northern regions of Argentina. The owners prefer to take care of the building’s origins, and the former adobe finca has a central square with a covered walkway around. The whole complex breathes history. Elvira and Alejandro, the directors, not only gave us a very warm welcome and read our every wish from our lips, they also run an excellent restaurant with first-class wines on offer, and they provided a guide for trekking in the Nevado da Cachi region. The varied breakfast buffet in the large panoramic room offers local produce, the view is breathtaking. Waking up in the morning with a view of the Nevado da Cachi mountain massif is downright intoxicating (some of the spacious rooms, equipped with tiled floors, heating and private bathrooms, offer this unique view, simply ask for avaibility. Those expecting a metropolitan ambience, luxurious hotel furniture and marble floors may be disappointed - those who love character, first-class service and an enchanting atmosphere will not want to leave.
- Isabelle (10/5): Exceptional - A gorgeous boutique hotel surrounded by the mountains. Perfect for a few days of relaxation. The breakfast was amazing, full of local produce and the restaurant next door also is worth checking out. If you like stargazing this is the place to stay. We spent the evening watching the most beautiful nights sky.
- Belisario (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Quite with comfortable room and bed. - It’s beautiful, quite, comfortable bed, the room was so cute with original features, the staff were amazingly helpful . The restaurant across the way had lovely food. Are best stay in Argentina.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dias (10/5): Colonial style hotel with outstanding view to Andes! - This hotel was the best surprise to our trip to Argentina! A colonial style hotel with a nice patio, and a room with amazing view to the Andes! Waking up the morning listening to nature, birds, the river and having view to the Cordillera!
On top there was a really tasty breakfast with local products and with light jazz music playing on the background!
So, if you are planning a trip to Cachi or the area, I totally recommend Sala de Payogasta!!
- Livio (9/5): Superb - Thr Finca (property) is very nice, the courtyard and especially the breakfast room are great. Breakfast was really super , with all products of the Finca. The honey was amazing and the the place manager gave us a bit to take away (they do not sell it) For whatever reason there was not hot water in the shower , towels could have been cleaner
- Victoria (7/5): Good - Nice old Hotel, with an beautiful view. Especially from the breakfast room. Took 5-10 min to get hot water. Communication without spanish was kinda difficult. Also we had to pay 10% extra for credit card payment.
- Samuel (6/5): Beautiful views but not the best value for money. - Beautiful view of the mountains. The property is beautiful but requires an update. It wasn’t particularly clean. Our room had lots of spiders. We had to wait at least half an hour for reception to bring a card reader for us to pay, after they asked us drive 15 minutes to pay at a local restaurant.
- Valeriaih (9/5): Quick road trip around Salta - The property is lovely, an old farm house, but very well kept and renovated. It's surrounded by vineyards and farm land, and you have wonderful views of a stunning mountain range.
Super tranquil environment and friendly staff. Good breakfast. There was an issue with the availability of hot water in the room, but it got resolved.
- Sandra (9/5): Nice but basic building, good food with view on the road. - The building is nice. The dining room is really enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the good dinner and breakfast in front of the fantastic view. The restaurant was not yet opened and the hotel was not fully functional. Rooms are heterogeneous. They are all rather basic (no TV, no desk) but some feel like a bit creepy. Heaters are very weak so it is cold during winter. Very little English spoken.
- Kora (10/5): Exceptional - Very understated, cosy. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
The location fantastic and overall a wonderful stay It was a little shabby in places and needs a bit of love, but personally this added to the character
- Flavio (9/5): Superb - It's a very nice rustic house with a central patio and very spacious rooms. The rooms are simple and nicely decorated. There is a cool restaurant where you can have a bottle of wine or grab a quick bite. There was no wifi or even service
- Steven (5/5): Expensive for what they offer. - Great view from the room. Uniek building but could use some repairs (badthub). Breakfast is good. Expensive for what they offer. The meal in the evening in the restaurant was bad and the price was not in line with the quality. The staff was not really making much effort to bring quality an hospitality despite having the necessary infrastructure they need to do that.
- Diana (1/5): Stay somewhere else - The room was clean. The sheets were clean. From the outset of a surly reception this was not a good stay. The room needs a complete remake, a lick of paint would be a start. The heater was so antiquated (and took so long to light) we were concerned about carbon monoxide and turned it off. The property seems very run down and nothing like the photos on the website. It felt more like a cow shed than a hotel room. There's rustic and there's not well maintained. Yes there was a jacuzzi bath but it looked totally out of place and the water took so long to come hot it would never have filled the bath. The fireplace might have been nice in winter but was just a large dirty pit. We asked about dinner but when we went into the restaurant room the last diinner hadn't been cleared away - dirty plates, glasses, leftover food. We declined. The staff don't seem to care. I hardly ever leave a bad review but this was not a good experience. Avoid.
