Guest Reviews
- Tara (7/5): Fantastic location, walking distance to main street. Stunning lake views & a lovely period cottage. - Great location just a short walk to the main street in Beechworth. Stunning views over the lake with lots of options for walking trails. It was lovely sitting out on the verandah enjoying the view. The neighbourhood where the property is located was also very quiet. The property is great for dogs. The backyard is fully fenced and secure. Also loved the character features of the property. A special mention to the property manager, Simmone, who was readily available when there was a problem with the tv. Simmone went out of her way to try and rectify the problem. We enjoyed out stay at Cherry Blossom Cottage. There were a few maintenance issues with the property, but nothing we couldn't live without. The television didn't work. The dishwasher needed a good clean. I assume the filter was blocked. There was a pool of water in the bottom and it stunk. The kitchen sink was leaking into the cupboard underneath. I reported all these issues and they will no doubt be taken care of before the next booking.

- Jacinta (8/5): Excellent location, great view of lake. - Excellent location and Per Friendly The dishwasher and TV didn’t work and we had no hot water.
- Erling (9/5): -
- Felicity (7/5): A lovely place to stay if you are keen to explore the history and scenic areas of Beechworth.wineries are a big surprise - The views and location. Check in time was inflexible. Wasn’t very clean. Lots of cobwebs around. Dishwasher didn’t work (hadn’t told us so we loaded it up) soap dispensers very low or empty. Outside furniture was full of spiders and cobwebs so couldn’t use it. Property manager couldn’t care less. I tried to contact her 3 times then she picked up on the 4th attempt. Tried through the app, text, and called and left message. Told her about the dishwasher and she wasn’t that interested.

- Handa (5/5): Average stay , not safe , owner needs to do repairs on the house . - Location was central, near to township Very old house , cracks in wall , toilet roof damaged , bugs and cockroaches in house , spider webs , broken windows & lock on the front door was broken .
- Anne (8/5): Peaceful, leafy, cottage, with beautiful bird life. - Nice lake view, clean, spacious, carport parking We could not find pots only pans for cooking and only two teabags were available.
- Peter (2/5): Defiantly not reccommended! - The beds were comfortable. Appalling lack of basics such as condiments, tea (one EMPTY packet of ten tea bags),sugar(one sachet), milk.
For the price I paid, I would expect better.
The cottage desperately needs repair work to be undertaken.
The cornice in the bathroom, reported 2 months ago, still hasn't been repaired. The awning above the front bedroom window is in danger of collapsing at any time.
The rotting window also reported previously hasn't been repaired.
A layer of dead insects sits atop all the light fittings in the kitchen.
The cherry tree in the front garden has obviously been dead for ages.
The outdoor furniture at the rear of the house was covered in cobwebs.
The outdoor furniture on the front verandah desperately needs replacing. one chair was so rusty it collapsed as soon as my son sat on it.
There were no instructions for any of the appliances.
- Nola (6/5): Pleasant -
- Joel (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (9/5): Cute and cosy old style cottage, centrally located. - Cute old style cottage, comfy and clean. Good location for exploring Beechworth and surrounds. Close to start of rail and lovely view over Lake Sambell. It would be helpful to have a few basic supplies in the kitchen like salt and pepper and cooking oil.
- Darlene (5/5): Don’t choose This property. Go to Yackandandah Instead! - Good location. 10mins walk to town. Old, although the bathroom has been redone, the cornice was falling off around the manhole in the bathroom, didn’t bother to paint the door, stains on the floor. House smelt musty, quite dusty on side tables in bedroom, the window in the bedroom is rotten and about to fall out… (I’m assuming) the owners have put toilet paper along the top of the window to soak up moisture instead of just putting silicone or no more gaps (or properly fixing it), looked disgusting!
Cushions in the lounge were stained, carpet in the bedroom has stains. Only one chair out front to sit on for potentially 4 people. Front door doesn’t stay open and the screen door has a dicky lock which can lock you out. Charged $60 more than booking.com invoice and was told by the contact that its booking.com hidden fees? Absolutely not worth the exorbitant amount we paid! Feeling ripped off!
- Lily (7/5): It was a lovely place to stay overall - Great location, easy walk into town & lovely views of the lake. No full length mirror and very little coat hangers to hang up clothes.
- Karlinmelbourne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shana (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (7/5): Good - Loved the house ,well appointed ,lovely and warm Close to town ,beautiful view Would have been nice to have tea and coffee
- Pauline (9/5): Superb -
- Hamish (7/5): Good -
- Guy (8/5): Very good -
- Kerrie (10/5): A cute cottage with a short walk to town - It was a super cute cottage that was so close to the town centre but also felt like you were away from everyone. The view from the front verandah was beautiful!
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (7/5): House and position good, booking process and communication with the staff very, very poor - Spacious and great location we had complications with the booking process and when talking to a staff member felt she was quite rude with the communication to their customers , this spoilt our stay quite a lot.
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Vicky (4/5): Fairly nice, but there is better value for money elsewhere in Beechworth - The location was wonderful and the cottage was very pretty and bigger than expected There was no cooling option in the bedroom other than a standing fan in the main room. The owner had consistently ignored messages from me since we booked and I had to call her to ask for a code which meant we stood for 10 minutes on the veranda whilst we waited for it to be sent through. The cleaner had also not been however in the defence of the manager she organised for them to come the next day and empty bins etc as she had been in hospital.
- Maillard (8/5): Very good -
- Jeanie (5/5): Overpriced for what was presented. - The central location.
The staff’s communication and they were helpful with alternative to accessing the property when key was missing. It was obviously under some renovations and the back yard was messy, unswept & outdoor furniture in disarray.
No provision of a small carton of milk & some condiments (basics for any motel/hotel accommodation).
- Bianca (8/5): Comfortable accommodation overlooking Lake Sambell - Sitting on the porch watching the lake was beautiful Only one mirror.
Hot water connected to the washing machine ruined my clothes.
A door stop that can wedge the front door open would be handy
- Brett (9/5): Nice spacious cottage with nice views of lake - Nice clean older style cottage. Good outlook over lake and nice to have the fireplace to use.
- Pedersen (8/5): We had a great time. - Cosy cottage - lovely and warm and welcoming. Great yard for pets. No foxtel or streaming platform on TV. Shower door hard to open and hits toilet.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (9/5): Superb - Great cosy house close to town with a great view of the lake
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - The property was spacious, fairly modern and comfortable. The kitchen was large and had everything I required, and the heater worked well to warm up the property. The house was a 10 minute walk from town and very easy to get to. The cleaning in the bathroom wasn’t very thorough, and the wifi didn’t work at all - that made the stay quite challenging as I didn’t have telephone reception or internet in the town either.
- Robbie (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location, and easy 10 min walk to the bakery and township. Warm and cosy inside...especially the wood heater. Sunny spot on the hill overlooking the lake.
- Mckendry (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (7/5): excellent stay. bring your own staples -
- Natalie (5/5): Nice cottage close to town but could be cleaner - Cute cottage. A clean and well-equipped bathroom. Had a nice view of the lake and walking distance to town Wasn't to the standard of cleanliness that I would've expected - e.g. noticed a thick layer of dust on the bedhead. Could do with some TLC. We have a holiday rental ourselves and know it's not easy to upkeep but the back rooms could do with a clean-up. Also, the kitchen wasn't very well equipped and all the drawers didn't close properly.
- Sharratt (8/5): Very good -
- Liana (7/5): Good -
- Kathy (7/5): warm and cosy. great location. - great beds. good bathroom. warm fire. generally good. square heavy awkward plates. incomplete sets. not 4 of many plate sets. couldn’t use frying pans. gas lighter empty for fire. only 4 matches.
- Aline (3/5): Poor - No TV , bed bugs in room, uncomfortable beds , blown lights, toilet blockage, leaking roof. Also quoted price on website was increased by more than $250 on final payment
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (8/5): Very good - Location and layout of house. Second toilet. Kitchen needed a saucepan and basics
- Sebastien (5/5): Overall it was not up to the standard you would expect for the money we paid. - The property has a lot of charm and is well located. It is spacious and has a nice outdoor area. Beds were comfortable. There was a major roof leak with water dripping constantly in the kitchen during the rainy day we had.
This seems to have been going for a while as there was many mould marks on the kitchen floor and a strong mould smell.
With a bit of bit of work and repairs, the property could look fantastic again.
We also had no wi-fi connection and no access to cable TV.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb - Great house in an excellent location. Lovely lounge room, dining room and kitchen. No mirrors in the bedrooms. Only one mirror in the house (a vanity mirror in the bathroom). This made it hard to get ready in the morning.
- Paul (8/5): Great location & view, comfy beds, secure backyard for dog - Great view, comfy supportive bed! Nice & warm Could do with some more bowls & basic needs, like salt, pepper etc
