- Scott (9/5): Beautiful spot for those who want to get off the beaten path and relax and hike. - Magnificent land with amazing views wonderful people and good food. Be prepared for the unpaved walk up the hill 10 min to property. They generally help with baggage. It's more rustic than fancy.
- jerry (10/5): Great place to spend a few days, Great people, great food - Great view - great people The trail up the hill was a little rough for an old man
- Uitzicht is magisch!
- Cristian (9/5): Highly recommended - We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Monte Mágico. Jyoti, Rodrigo, and Michel were incredibly attentive and kind. We stayed in the Galaxy room, which was cozy, well-equipped, and had an amazingly comfortable bed. The views were stunning, and every meal was delicious, generous and full of flavor. We also booked a romantic dinner and a couples' massage, and it was very special. Highly recommended!
As mentioned in other reviews, access to the ecohotel is through a short hike on a prehispanic trail. The rocks can get very slippery in the morning, so good shoes with grip are a must. It might not be ideal for people with knee issues, but going up was totally worth it.
- Aaron (10/5): Quiet and peaceful place surrounded by nature - Beautiful natural setting a stones throw from town. The massage experience was fantastic and food was great. The cabin had some cute details and it was a very quiet and beautful place surrounded by nature. The access to and around the property can be slippery and difficult, especially if it has recently rained. Would recomend bringing hiking poles in the wet season.
- Harriet (3/5): Nice views but extremely overpriced for the room quality - Views are pretty. Outside communal area is nice. The bedroom and bathroom were extremely dirty. The sheets weren’t clean. The room was FULL of bugs and spiders as there are lots of gaps exposing it to outside. This also means that the room is extremely cold at night. It was really expensive considering the quality of the room. Unfortunately it was the only place available in the town for the date we booked, otherwise we would have moved to a different hotel that night.

- Nick (9/5): Excellent spa facilities and superb service from Rodrigo and his team, especially Joyty and Margara - We absolutely loved our stay at Monte Magico! The spa facilities were exceptional, providing a truly relaxing experience. Rodrigo and his team offered excellent service throughout our visit. A special mention to Joyty and Margarita, who were particularly outstanding and attentive. The superb location offers stunning views and easy access to local attractions. However, the location on Google Maps and Booking.com is incorrect, showing a spot 15-20 minutes away at the Truchera. This can be challenging for quick trips to town or for those with mobility issues. Despite this, we highly recommend Monte Magico for anyone looking for a memorable family stay.
- Miriam (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing view from Hotel, outside bathroom was a great experience, very flexible and great service and very friendly people as Hosts Way up With too much lugguae Takes a little longer
- Harold (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (5/5): Rooms are too basic for the cost. Worst value for money of any hotel I have stayed in Colombia - The staff were super nice and the views are amazing, it’s peaceful once you do the 20 min walk up hill from the town. We were so disappointed with this hotel! I booked it for my partners birthday and it was far too expensive for what is provided. The rooms were so basic- no curtains (!!), no bedside tables or lamps, the bed was small, the towels were old and hard, our shower was outside which was fine but didn’t have a light or provide nice shampoo/conditioner. Lighting in the rooms was not nice, too bright and clinical.
The breakfast was terrible and exactly the same every day. Stale arepa with over cooked eggs. We live in Colombia and I know this breakfast costs less than $1. You had to pay $50,000 COP extra to use the hot tub when you’re already paying $78 a night. They also didn’t tell us this until check out.
You have to walk 20 mins from the town, which is fine for us but if you are not fit, you’d struggle. The food is not good enough to want to stay there the whole time. We’ve stayed in so many hotels in Colombia and this was by far the worst for what we paid. Basically, if the hotel cost $30-40 we would be happy but if you’re charging almost $80 a night you really need provide much nicer facilities and food. It’s a shame because they two women working there were so lovely.
- Alejandro (8/5): Very good -
- David (10/5): Beautiful beautiful beautiful... - everything at the property is excellent. the views are amazing, there is hot water in the showers, my dog was more than welcomed, and the food they serve is delicious too. The hike up and down the hill got tiring.
