The smell of fresh cooked bread, a cosy fire of a morning, local wine tasting, the bush outlook, and the native animals were wonderful. Nothing really, it was just what we expected.

Warm and toasty with a wood fireplace. Well stocked kitchenette with everything we needed. Included continental breakfast very nice, especially the crusty fresh baked bread each day. Lots of kangaroos and wallabies around. Perfect for a short getaway. We were pleased with everything.

Lovely surroundings
Nice breakfast
Good location close to Girraween National park Lights in lounge too bright, needs a table lamp for the evenings.
- Kathleen (10/5): Cozy Family Escape: Exceptional Hospitality - Our two‑night stay was exceptional. We sipped complimentary wine by the wood‑burning fireplace, setting the perfect tone for relaxation. The kids loved the bubble bath and balcony BBQ. The highlight was Lara’s freshly baked bread—simply irresistible—paired with a breakfast featuring coffee, tea, yoghurt, fruits, jams, and butter. Our only disappointment was that the fall season kept the grapes out of view, but overall, the experience was truly unforgettable.
- Enming (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christelle (10/5): It was an gorgeous place, with everything you need to relax. The fresh homemade bread was jus delicious - Quiet clean comfortable and just AMAZING!! Nothing
- Darren (8/5): Very good - Location was perfect. There was no prior notification of the planned power outage for the property. We were only notified on arrival. It was explained to us, that the power company had notified a week prior.
- Darko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Luv it and would return - The setting ! The location ! The staff were all excellent
- Judy (10/5): Great place to stay - I loved the location . Combining peace and tranquillity with wine and great views. Comfy bed and spa was great.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Romantic get away. Convenient location to vineyards. Laura and her husband are very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is a bit sparse, but we will bring our own next time we stay.
- Niel (9/5): Really liked it. Sitting on the deck for sunrise or sunset was excellent. - What is better than fresh bread? It was fine. Perhaps add vegemite to items for breakfast? There was cereals, coffee and teas. All good.
Wonderfully quiet. We couldn't hear the New England highway. Conveniently close to eating places in Ballandean and Stanthorpe us usefully close as well. It wasn't made clear that the bottle of Granite Ridge wine in the fridge was complimentary, and we neither drank it nor took it. Maybe make that explicit on the bottle?
I do think that the $50 per night surcharge for use of the second bedroom should be included first up and rather discounted if that bedroom is not used. Also, that charge is fair as the second room has to be cleaned, but as rooms are not cleaned daily there should be only one charge per time the room is cleaned.
- Supattra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Time went too quick
- Marissa (10/5): Exceptional - Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. The fireplace, kindling, starters and instructions were great to start the fire. It was nice they had some games and puzzles to help us relax as a family.
- Denis (9/5): The cottage at Granite Ridge Wines is beautiful and relaxing - an excellent getaway! - The setting was beautiful, quiet and private. The cottage is well designed, with everything I needed. The bathroom is modern, clean and functional. I was grateful that everything I needed for the fireplace was available, so it was easy to start fires on the cold nights.

- Corinne (10/5): fantastic place to stay. -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Kelli (9/5): We would definitely come back to Fergie’s Hill! - Private, peaceful and well located to the wineries. Wood was plentiful for the pot belly inside also We had two flint starters for the fire and stove, they were on the blink so it would be also useful to have matches.
- Gregory (8/5): Excellent stay particularly enjoyed fireplace. - Hot freshly baked bread supplied daily was fantastic. Outlook over vineyard with local wildlife great. Nothing that comes to mind.
- Larissa (9/5): Superb -
- Farahani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - The serenity and the birdlife was very nice. The fresh baked bread supplied each day was wonderful and it was a perfect place to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The location was great to visit the attractions of the area. Nothing.
- Bronwyn (9/5): Calm, peaceful relaxing spot. Perfect trip including a wine tasting one afternoon of wine tasting - Relaxed, private and beautiful. Loved all the wildlife.
- Indigo (10/5): Exceptional - Great location close to national parks, food and wine experiences. Complimentary breakfast foods were a kind touch. Everything was lovely.
- Janey (9/5): B&B in Ballendene. - The location was great, there was plenty to see and do, the views were fantastic.
The hospitality was second to none, fresh baked bread everyday. We enjoyed a great experience at the cellar door and was even encouraged to try a little of the viticulture experience.
A glass of wine in front of the log burning fire, what more could you ask for... Not that I didn't like but I was a little disappointed that they didn't use more locally produced products in the welcome package i.e the honey was from a supermarket
- C1nt14 (10/5): Best cottage in the region. - Everything. Perfectly clean, the music on the arrival, the fresh bread, the quality of the beds, the property.
They make you feel like home!
- David (7/5): nice stay - serenity of the vineyards too far out from town
- David (9/5): Beautiful and Peaceful - The cottage was comfortable clean and well appointed, the breakfast supplies were of a good quality and the delivery of freshly baked bread was delightful treat we all enjoyed. The wine tasting was well presented and the wines are lovely. We will be back Verandah chairs were a little uncomfortable
- Pamela (9/5): A very relaxing retreat - Easy to find, very quiet and so relaxing. No internet or TV (which was clearly stated) added to the relaxed feel. Spacious, clean, comfortable, well-equipped.
Loved the freshly baked bread each day plus all the goodies in fridge.
Very friendly managers, who gave an excellent wine tasting on arrival. No air-conditioning but the fans were good.
- Kuypers (10/5): Exceptional - The location and facilities were great. My sisters didn't like the frogs, but they are sooks 😀
- Claire (10/5): A relaxing, peaceful cottage stay in the vineyards. - We were two couples. We were very pleased the cottage had two bathrooms giving both couples privacy. We also enjoyed the peacefulness of the cottage. It was quiet and very relaxing. We like everything.

- Leah (9/5): Great house, position, hosts and loved seeing the possum, kangaroos and other wild life. - Daily fresh bread was lovely
- Norman (9/5): Excellent, clean, comfy and civilised retreat for that quiet getaway even in the depth of winter. - Excellent cereal, fruit and yoghurt breakfast suited us fine. Freshly-cooked bread each day and extras as requested was amply supplied. Kitchen well-stocked. Microwave handy. Good lighting and electrical points. Great wine tasting bonus and we got to meet the actual wine-maker (Rod)! Local wildlife (kangaroos and wallabies) greeted us on arrival but were not annoying. Staff (Dave and wife) very cooperative and helpful. Welcomely, Dave cut extra wood for us for the cold night's indoor fireplace and showed us the cute local possum's digs. Handy drive to Girraween N.P. for walks. TV reception not great. Locally controlled burning at night was a bit scary until we understood what was going on. Provision of outside hoses connected to working taps might have been reassuring.
- Theresa (10/5): From the time we arrived to the time we left we felt relaxed. - It was a perfect
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meredith (9/5): Superb -
- Hami (10/5): Will be back again next winter - Great breakfast, cozy cottage, great location
- Merike (9/5): Superb - The cottage was perfect for a surprise birthday getaway. Freshly baked bread both mornings was such a great surprise. And the convenience of a cellar door on the premises for some wine tasting 10/10.
Thank you Lara and Juliane & Dennis. Only the pillows were too firm for our liking.
- Ebrina (8/5): Very good - everything, clean, comfy, fireplace, has everyone need for a short stay.
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Cory (10/5): Relaxing, Welcoming and Picturesque - Our stay at the cottage was very relaxed. The setting was very picturesque overlooking the grape vines, a great vantage point for a thunderstorm that rolled through while we were there. Location was perfect, minutes away from more wineries and close to Girraween National Park.
We thoroughly enjoyed the warm welcome featuring a bottle of wine and fresh baked bread, plus a friendly chat the next day at the cellar door.
The cottage was spotless and everything was in good nick.
We've already recommended Fergies Hill Cottage to friends and would happily return. The only downside was that our stay ended too soon.
- Carolyn (10/5): A home away from home. - We loved the warm, welcoming and generous hospitality.
- Gail (10/5): It was everything we needed for a quiet getaway - Everything N/A
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shoeb (9/5): Great stay - Great views especially at night. Place is tastefully done up. Owners are at their shop less than 20meters away. Lovely freshly baked bread given for each day of stay with butter, jam, honey, yoghurt, etc in fridge. Kitchen has necessary for cooking. Hosts are friendly and help when requested. They even provided mosquito coil on second day when we made a request on the first day. A folder in room on activities that can be done in the area. They even set up fireplace for us. Some short dirt road to get to location, not any issue at all
- Pam (7/5): Good -
- Lynny (9/5): Secluded spot, well equipped, perfect for visiting the local vineyards and National Park - peaceful and quiet, everything we needed
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Annell (10/5): Perfect for a quiet getaway with friends. - A delightful cottage with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms one with a spa bath as well as shower. Central kitchen and seating area was great for a get together and the front veranda overlooking the grapevines was lovely for relaxing and watching the birds and local kangaroos. The winery was just a short walk away which was very convenient. The smell of the fresh baked bread was a highlight every day. Loved the music playing when we walked in and watching the stars at night. A very tranquil setting.

the kitchen appliances and gadgets were pretty complete, i'm impressed! i think it's the first time i stayed at a place that provided paper towels--much appreciated.

- Terri (9/5): Lovely for a family getaway. Several kangaroos & an old tractor to delight my 17 month old grandson! - Loved the freshly baked bread every morning, that was a really nice touch. Yoghurt, fruit & condiments in plenty supply. Nice bottle of wine in the fridge. In need of new towels.

The wines are sumptuous,
- Lydia (8/5): Lovely comfortable and fun country stay. - We loved practically everything, it was so cosy and comfortable. The furnishings were so lovely charming country. Location was excellent. The only thing was we were confused by the use of rooms. I emailed saying we wouldn't use the other beds as we had 2young children in cors so they said they wouldn't charge us for extra bed use but it also meant the 2nd bedroom was fully locked off to us. We just thought we would be able to use the room and the beds would be unmade. Just a miscommunication.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
