Guest Reviews
- Rafael (8/5): - Old stone house, beatifuly desinged to give you impression of old village house. There is a fireplace, but the owner refused to supply wood for it. Which was some disapointing.

- Peter (10/5): Xmas Village vacation - Free parking within 3 minutes walk.
Easy access instructions from host.
The property is a traditional Cypriot home with an authentic charm.
Living room / kitchen area was functional with a bathroom and bedroom upstairs.
The bedroom balcony is a great feature overlooking the village and Troodos mountains.
The whole property was very clean.
The village centre is a short walk through the "old" part where there are many quirky buildings.... Nothing!

Solo fuimos a dormir y a ducharnos.
- Chris (9/5): - The character of the house is great. Due to it being a historic village, the house had to be rebuilt using the same materials. The structure looks very old, and has the smell of old wood. Lots of antiques. The house is down an alleyway. We parked on the road into the village and walked a short distance. The pots and pans could be upgraded.
- Prajwal (9/5): I I truly hope to return to this beautiful villa someday, if life and luck allow.” 🌿✨ - A traditional villa full of charm, with a cheerful and candid host who made everything feel effortless and welcoming. The atmosphere was both relaxing and authentic, leaving me with the best memories.” 🌿✨

- Andreev (9/5): Authentic village house - Authentic house in the old Kakopetria
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - A charming and cozy retreat tucked away in the heart of Kakopetria’s historic district. The house offers a perfect blend of character and comfort, with authentic touches that give a deep sense of place. Mornings on the balcony with mountain views are a treat, and everything from hiking paths to local eateries is just a short stroll away. The host made everything seamless and welcoming. A peaceful and memorable stay — ideal for those wanting to soak in village charm while having easy access to Troodos.
- Karen (3/5): Poor - Nice old part of the town. Comfortable sofa & bed. Bedclothes were clean. Nice sized balcony. Rest of furnishings very shabby. Very shabby furniture (apart from sofa & bed) the rest more like you would find in a hostel. There is a difference between rustic and dated. (I live in a 17th Century cottage so I do like old buildings with contemporary furniture). I don't understand how this gets a high rating. Kitchen needs replacing. Worktop grubby. Grotty cupboards. Hob did not work. Cooker switch behind gap in worktop also grubby. Plates although looked clean needed washing due to musty cupboards. Very disappointing. Worst stay in Cyprus.
- Ahmet (10/5): Peace - Village, house, antique furnitures inside, placement of house, even old smell inside like my grand mothers home everything was amazing. Nothing to say
- Patrikios (8/5): Very good -
- Catalin (10/5): An amazing experience "back in time" in Kakopetria! - Staying in this traditional house in Kakopetria was an amazing experience, we felt like we travelled back in time. The house is located right in the old city of Kakopetria, it is a traditional house, with a lot of traditional objects displayed. Although it is traditional the house provides all facilities needed for the stay. The owner of the house was very kind and responsive, check in was very smooth. The house was very clean and the area was very quiet. It has a wonderful balcony were can you have the breakfast together with local cats, with a wonderful view to the mountain. The house is near to restaurants and shops. The parking is just outside the old city. This is a very good location to explore Troodos mountain and the old painted churches as we did.
- Sergei (9/5): Superb - Great location in the old cosy village house with fireplace. Several restaurants and coffee shops in the walk distance.
Very friendly stuff
- Yonit (10/5): An authentic villa in old Kakopetria - We loved everything about the villa: the location in old Kakopetria, very close to the stream, the villa itself is very comfortable with all ameneties one could want. There is a supermarket 200m away. And the free parking is 100m away.
Highly recommended by us!
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice traditional house, helpful owners and very good location in old village. A little bit difficult to find the house. Also we not succeed to start heating in living room and was cold there.
But in general our stay in Zangoulos villa was very pleasant.

- Mira (10/5): The village is so nice and the host the people and the host are very sweet and accommodating - The neighborhood peaceful and quiet, nice place
A perfect place for a quiet retreat
- Marek (10/5): Very picturesque comfy and inexpensive stay for a family of 4. - Nice old town property, very short walking distance to the river walk, funpark, town centre, shop, parking is moreless 1-2 minutes from the property.
If you like walking and hiking in Troodos mountains, this location we prefer to Platres, where we stayed multiple times before, but that is way overrated, here is much more to do, the village is better organized and safe for walking with pram (we have mountain buggy, but nothing fancy). With no kids, this property is awesome as you can enjoy the quietness of the area and views from the balcony. Just go for it if in Kakopetria! :) Lastly, the owners are amazingly supporting, ask any questions, they reply fairly quickly, real good quality hospitality. Thanks guys!
- Maria-irina (10/5): Exceptional - Very cozy house
- Nehago (9/5): Superb -

- Takis (9/5): Superb - The location was perfectly in the middle of the old village. . Easy to go to the sender and the view was excellent

- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful home restored in the traditional style that provides everything you need for a self catering holiday. A lovely bedroom and balcony that overlooks the hills and a great bathroom. Love and time has obviously gone into the restoration and furnishing of this home. Located in the UNESCO village and in a gorgeous alley that leads to the river and a nature trail. The new village is 5 mins walk with all amenities and buses. Troodos is a bus ride away and hiking trails reachable by car or bus. The host was very welcoming and friendly and even picked us up from the bus stop. We loved this place.
- Lyndsey (9/5): We had a wonderful visit to Zangoulos Villa. All descriptions online are correct and the owner is super communication, w - Charming, traditional, perfect location, comfortable and cozy -
- Erika (10/5): Quaint stay in the middle of the mountains - Cute little cabin in middle of gorgeous village, out of a fairy tale. The place was basic, but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
- Paulina (10/5): Highly recommended - magic place❤️ - Incredible atmosphere - mountains, fireplace, old but fantastic interior, magic ❤️ Two small things only: not too much wood for the fire place (but we didnt ask for more - probably we would get some, the owners were super nice!), to have a hot water in the shower you have to heat the water 30min before. Both are a really small things, the rest was totaly amazing
- Cosmin (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and clean place, you a have a great view to the mountains only 25 min to go to troodos.
You have anything that you need in that house is a lovely place. And about the owner is great man very kind person.
- Mixalis (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Μαρία (4/5): Disappointing - Very good location. Friendly staff There was a bad smell in the house from the humidity. The house was clean but full of humidity.
- Tetiana (9/5): Very nice place! - We liked it a lot
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional - A very beautiful old house.located in the heart of the old village. Very quiet, beautiful, clean, cozy. All photos match, even better.
- Valentina (9/5): Superb -
- Zinaida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anzhelika (10/5): Exceptional - The location is great, in the historical centre of the village. Very quiet area, very nice to sit on the veranda during the evening.
The house is very clean with all the things you need during your stay.
The owner of the house is the great man, he met us upon arrival, showed everything in the house, recommend restaurants for the dinner and helped to make the reservation of the table. And the restaurant was really nice.
This house is absolutely worth to visit and stay in it, because it is like you live in the museum😁 You can immerse yourself in the life of a mountain village and feel like a part of history. We really liked this house, but one thing made us uncomfortable - it was the great smell like gasoline inside. The owner told us that there is the wood treatment products, but even with the windows open the smell could be felt. I am very sensitive to any smells, that is why it was not so comfortable.
- Janina (9/5): Superb - Fabulous place. Super quiet. Great hosts. We loved our breakfast on the balcony! The table on the balcony could be a little bigger.
- Susanne (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Very nice - Very nice house, very nice person.

So peaceful and relaxing and the owner is extremely kind. We will definitely be making a trip back here :)
- Emily (8/5): Very quite and comfortable place - Very traditional stone house - quite and comfortable place. Good internet connection. Perfect place if you like to travel around Trodos mountains. The water pressure is very low, so takes lots of time to take a shower:) I'd like to have more wine glasses (it was just one) tea cups (it was just one) and also no cutting board in the kitchen.
- Eran (9/5): Superb -
- Rubén (9/5): Superb -
- Ilona (10/5): The host was very kind and make us feel home. The house is well equipped, having all the facilities one might want durin - It’s an amazing atmospheric house where you emerge into the history.
- Evgeniya (8/5): Very good -
- Tal (9/5): Beautiful, well placed, friendly, great overall experience - Great location, nice house, very convenient, very nice, friendly and flexible owner. There was nothing we did not like. You should take into consideration that the unit is in the old village, and so sewage and water pressure are as expected in a very old village.
