Guest Reviews
- Stewart (8/5): Work trip - Private & peaceful
Plenty of space
Great location
Friendly host
Would happily stay again
- Tham (9/5): -
- Viktoria (10/5): - Just a dream house. Beautiful, cozy, super clean, wonderful garden with tennis court and football playground behind the house …. Responsive owner ..
- Dean C84 (10/5): -
- John (10/5): We will return! - Quaint. Outside of the city and close to the rail system N/A
- Lucy (7/5): We had a lovely stay but had to clean before using some facilities which you don’t want to have to do on holiday. Fabulo - The location is excellent. Really close to all amenities and locations such as Johnnie foxes, bray and the Wicklow mountains.
The cottage is situated in a very peaceful area.
Use of the tennis court was a great addition.
Communication from the hosts was very good and they were helpful when we had a question. It needs a good deep clean! The bathrooms and bedding were clean but some areas were very grubby, such as the inside of the fridge and we have to scrub the oven pan and grill as it was so sticky.
There were also coffee stains splashed up the stairs that we cleaned up ourselves. Lots of cobwebs on the windows too.
The downstairs area is very small, there were 4 of us and we felt squashed in.
Some of the furniture needs updates as cupboard doors were hanging off and no blinds on some windows.
- Barbara (10/5): A wonderful place to end our Ireland vacation. - Beautiful setting. High end furnishings.
Lovely views. Very peaceful.
- Bridget (10/5): Gorgeous property in a lovely location - Absolutely gorgeous property in a great location. The hosts were so helpful and kind. Perfect for families and for exploring the Wicklow/Dublin area.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - The space, particularly upstairs was exceptional and the location was perfect. The kitchen and living room felt a little small compared to the rest of the property.
- Geok (8/5): Very pleasant other than the few minor issues - surprise water disruption upon check in which fortunately was resolved quickly.
Also the kitchen light switch that keep dropping out which is a safety risk that we have highlighted to the owner.
- Laura (10/5): Cozy with a great location - Beautiful grounds, east access to a lot of wonderful sites. Good restaurants nearby and cozy, private feel. Easy tram ride into the center city of Dublin Nothing I didn’t like
- Aina (10/5): Exceptional - - Beautiful interior/ exterior
- Helpful host
- Completeness of kitchen/ bathroon necessities etc
- Serene surrounding - Unlockable bathroom door (particularly the connecting bathroom)
- Aubrey (5/5): Passable -
- Denise (9/5): Pleasant - Needed a note about how to get out of the gate when leaving for the last time and putting the fan in lock box.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - The Location & setting were excellent for our stay, peaceful & rural. Beds very comfortable and the info provided was well detailed. Nothing bad to say at all
- Helen (8/5): A lovely place to stay just outside Dublin, would certainly visit again. - A delightful property with plenty of room.
Exceptionally comfortable beds! We had to use the car to get into the city - took ages!
- Simon (9/5): Peaceful yet convenient base for the local area, comfortable beds. - Lovely quiet and tranquil setting behind secure gates in a semi-rural location yet with easy access to the local roads and nearby tram system that made it a great base for exploring Dublin and out into the Wicklow countryside. Three spacious and comfortable bedrooms. Although The Nook sleeps six, it doesn’t easily accommodate that number together in the sitting room or around the dining table. Worked fine for 5 playing card games around the table (once we’d brought a garden chair in for the fifth person), but watching tv together wouldn’t have worked as comfy chairs only seat 3 in the sitting room, though other sitting areas for one of two exist elsewhere in the house. Kitchen fine for breakfast prep, but equipment more limited had we wanted to cook in the evenings, and for our stay hampered by there only being four forks (though I’m sure this will have been rectified by now). Tennis court was great, but when we where there quite algae covered and slippy with a dull bounce, so fine for family fun but would have been tricky if we’d been serious players. All in all, it worked for us, but could be trickier for groups of six wanting to eat and relax together.
- Steven (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location as a touring base for Dublin and the surrounding areas.
The property is in a very safe location, lovely garden with seating to soak up the sun.
We did have one problem when we arrived but the speed with which this was addressed and corrected was astonishing and great credit to the hosts for their actions, they couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful,
Overall a great holiday and I would have no hesitation in returning to this property. Everything was just fine
- Michael (8/5): Very Good - Ideal location for us
Lovely area and delightful house Only a minor comment but the kitchen lets the house down as poorly equipped and very mixed and chipped delph.
- Alexandra (9/5): Stayed with a group of friends to attend a wedding nearby. The Nook had everything we needed, was extremely comfortable - Very cosy, well equipped and clean house Nothing
- Nina (6/5): Disappointing - Beautiful surrounding area. Beds very comfortable. Unfortunately this property did not spark joy for us. We were travelling with a young family (4yr old and a 10 month old). There was a smell of damp in the ground floor living area which made that space quite unpleasant to spend time in. The main bathroom upstairs emanated a sewage smell at night time which we found quite unpleasant.
- Jason (8/5): Very good - It was cozy The spiders in the ground floor toilet room. It was cold inside.
- Daniel (10/5): Absolutely lovely! - Beautiful property!
- Kenneth (9/5): Home from home with picturesque surrounds. Recommended. - had everything a house would need. Clean and very quaint. countryside surroundings very picturesque. close to main routes. Would benefit from a small fridge welcome pack to include small amounts of butter, bread, milk and bottled water (recommend 2) - tea and coffee was present in cupboards. Just to cater for late arrivals and following morning breakfast.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Marina (9/5): lovely place for a family vacation - Beautiful country house, very quiet, spotless, child-friendly and beautiful. Excellent beds. As an accommodation for up to 6 people, kitchen could have had a bit more "gear" such as plates, cooking pans and such. Only that. Because kitchen technical appliances such as kettle, bread-rooster and dish-washer were plentiful. Further kitchen was spotless and functionable.
- Maria (10/5): Perfect! - Everything was great! Quite, nice, clean, comfortable, absolutely beautiful!
- Elaine (7/5): Good stay - The bedrooms were big The house was cold as the heating went off during the day and we couldn’t control it.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Konstantin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Top class facilities - Loved the closeness to city centre whilst feeling miles away. Privacy was great and the facilities were top class. We had bad weather but will return again as facilities are amazing. Management replied to any query within minutes and were more than accommodating with cots and stair gates.
Tennis courts are brilliant and space outside is brilliant Weather 🙈
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Anna-maree (7/5): Large comfortable bedrooms (the one room had no mirror) Close to Bray for food shopping. - We were not given instructions to open the driveway gate, only for the front door.
Three bedrooms which could sleep 6, yet only seating for 3 on a couch and one chair in the lounge.
Not enough crockery to use the dishwasher. Lovely base to explore the small villages around. That we had to ring the intercom to the main house to enter the property. Luckily somebody was home to open for us. We would have been stranded if nobody was home.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amy (7/5): A tale of two halves. - Location and setting both fantastic. Huge bedrooms and lovely showers. Kitchen OK but lacking in some utensils, although hosts quick to rectify this. Two lounge areas but not enough room for whole family to sit together. Worked out for us though. Main thing and hope easiest to get right, The table only sat four. The house has enough bedroom space for 6 -8.
