- Michael (8/5): Very enjoyable. It was a shame it was so rainy and cold. We will come again to explore the farm and the area. - Warm and comfortable. Well fitted out with everything we needed and more. All good.
- Mcgowan (9/5): Beautiful views, clean and comfortable - Beautiful western view of the sunset, perfect for stargazing. We came here for a clear view of the stars and planets and we had it in spades!
The accomodation was clean, comfortable, well stocked and had great info on where to go for local produce.
- Il (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean and spacious, and a having a full kitchen made it very attractive. Everything was well organised, and the furniture comfortable. For me, the critical issue is the bed, and I found it very comfortable and I slept quite well. Nothing that springs to mind.
- Gilbert (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (9/5): A great country retreat to connect with nature - Quiet, back to nature, friendly owners who shared their garden, including a veggie patch, and provided privacy.
- Susan (8/5): Great location for a couple seeking to get away from it all. - Great kitchen with lots of equipment. Nice aspect looking out to the forest. Requirement to take off shoes indoors - slip-ons were provided, but it made it very hard to carry all our belongings to and from the car, which could not be parked near to the house.
- Edward (9/5): Superb -
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and very clean.
- Ashleigh (10/5): Exceptional - What is there not to like. This farm stay was everything we wanted and more. We took our 18 month old who loved the chickens and wandering through the market garden. Plenty of land to run around and set up for a picnic. House had everything we needed. The pig and the whistle hotel a few kms down the road was also a fave! Great food and best beer garden. Sibestian and David were incredible hosts and can't thank them enough for a wonderful stay. We also loved purchasing the veggie boxes and eggs to take home. We will definitely be back and we can't wait!
- Rohan (7/5): Adequate and clean - Adequate
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Panagiota (10/5): A wonderful and peaceful holiday with beautiful surroundings. - The location and surroundings were wonderful. It was so peaceful and a lovely getaway. I would stay even on a rainy day as it would be nice to just sit in with the family and watch a movie on Netflix with no interruptions from anyone. Maybe put a slip mat in the shower and for the hot water to last longer instead of getting hot and cold shower at once. Maybe the mattresses on the beds can be more comfortable ones too. Otherwise, all good!
- Louise (10/5): Lovely Stay. - Lovely property with beautiful outlook. Nothing
- Dacey (8/5): Very comfortable throughout. - Friendly host. Very comfortable. Bright & light. Lovely view. Not the property. The weather was drizzly.
- Adele (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing stay in quiet, well equipped country setting. - Generous sized living areas, well equipped kitchen, relaxing garden setting, great book and DVD collections.
- Anonymous (9/5): So pleasant and comfortable - Well thought out for every need. Very clean and organised. Warm welcome when we arrived.
- Amy (8/5): Comfortable and clean - Clean and tidy accomodation A fire place would of been great as the heating was okay
- Phogat (9/5): 4 out of 5 - My stay was delightful, with the charming presence of chickens, a peaceful environment perfect for families, a clean and undisturbed house, and friendly and accommodating owners. What I didn't enjoy was the lack of warmth in the accommodation. It was quite cold, especially in the evening. It would have been more comfortable if they had better heating appliances. We ended up having to use an extra heater in the living area to prepare for a chilly night. Additionally, I was looking forward to having more open space for a leisurely walk, but there was no such area available for a pleasant stroll. Another drawback was the limited options for lunch/dining in the area, as we had difficulty finding a suitable place to eat.
- Sue (10/5): On short notice it was perfect to keep us warm and dry in lieu of camping in the bush - Perfect location for our needs, beautiful outlook, very cosy in cold weather. Frozen pipes which of course is no one's fault but mother nature
- Philip (9/5): A lovely stay in a beautiful quiet house abd setting - A really nice experience, lovely and peaceful place in really nice rural location and the hosts were generous in lots of ways! We needed two heaters to keep warm (at this time of year) but was good they did have a second heater as well as electric blankets!
- Susan (8/5): Very good -
- Kevin (8/5): Wombat Forest Country Retreat is very clean and comfortable accommodation. We would stay here again. - Nearly all features of this property were very good. The layout of the bathroom was restrictive.
- Daniel (9/5): great spot to relax and switch off - space - great kitchen mobile coverage is poor
- Patsy (9/5): Superb - The house was well equipped with all the amenities, it was spacious and comfortable.
- John (9/5): Perfect place to relax and explore. - Lovely location in the country but just 10 minutes drive to the nearest town. Spacious property with well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Access to fresh vegetables and amazing mushrooms! Nothing.
- Roy (8/5): Quiet rural stay in a very pretty part of Victoria 90 minutes drive from Melbourne. - Lodge was half of the owner's house, clean, nicely furnished and well equipped for a couple or small family stay. The property was rural and quiet. Nothing. Rural location 6 km from Trentham and 2 km from the Pig and Whistle made it a little inconvenient for a business traveller.
- Mike (8/5): A comfortable place to get away from the hustle and bustle - The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped The wifi/telephone reception was very poor. There were quite a few dusty places in the rooms. The amount of spider webs outside were off putting to sit on the verandah. The yard could do with some garden maintenance.
- Roger (9/5): Excellent location for a relaxing quiet time. - Very serene and quiet location. The accomodation was clean, tidy and very comfortable with everything necessary for a relaxing stay.
- Julie (9/5): Superb -
- Vyperr (8/5): Very good -
- Lee (8/5): A comfortable overnight stay where we enjoyed the sunset in the shade of the tree. - Loved the outlook, hot shower, comfortable bed and lounge area. the unit was very clean. A seat to enjoy the view out in the shade of a tree would be advantageous.
- Terry (10/5): We'll be back - A very clean, comfortable house with all possible amenities. The best bed we have ever slept in.
10/10 for everything.
- Carolynne (9/5): Pleasant, comfortable and relaxing. -
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (10/5): A great spot for a quiet break - has everything you need. - location, fully equipped kitchen, entertainment- dvds
- Dalice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andreas (9/5): It was a wonderful peaceful couple of days. - It was an amazing stay but a tv on the wall opposite the bed might have made my stay a extra bonus. We like watching tv in bed to help us sleep a little deeper 🙂
- Robbins (9/5): Peaceful location and comfortable accommodation for a couple. - The property was ideally located for us with access into the areas of Wombat Forest we were researching within easy reach. Its location was also perfect for several farmers markets on the weekend which we were able to explore. It provided a peaceful environment to escape to, so we could enjoy the attractions and amenities of the various local tourist towns without having to stay in them. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet our hosts, but would have appreciated a chat about the property - being nut growers and farmers we were curious why they were chopping down the chestnut trees. The weather! No fault of the owners of course, but it made the driveway and path to the house very muddy and having to open and shut the gate every time we entered or left the property meant we kept getting wet and our footwear very dirty.
We were curious why this was necessary, as the other gate was always open, so the closed gate didn't seem to be functional in terms of containing pets or livestock or excluding unwanted intruders or wildlife.
- Brendan (8/5): Very good - Light globe in fridge and one of the heater globes not working. Otherwise very comfortable.
