- Juan (4/5): Ok, would not do it again. - The location and concept are great. It was nice to get to meet people. The location is spot on. Not suited for more than a nights stay. No where did it say we cannot bring in outside liqour however apparently it's a thing. Also staff could have made an effort to make it feel warmer and more fun. That's left entirely up to the guests which is intersting.

Me encantó todooooo

- Henry (10/5): Elder gay man had instant community, was awesome! - At 60, single and gay, I had a wonderful stay at LG Y. Santos, one of the friendly owners, met me at the airport and whisked me straight to the hostel. The building has two steep flights of stairs – just a heads‑up, it’s a bit of a climb, so those with mobility concerns might want to plan accordingly. My private room was comfortable (not luxury, but just right), with a lovely view of an old church’s *steeple*, my own bathroom, daily cleaning, fresh towels, and a sunny balcony. The social vibe was the highlight: I mingled with fellow travelers on the sun deck, shared breakfast, and even enjoyed a few beers together. It felt like an instant community—nice folks to chat with, plenty of good conversation, and a fun gay atmosphere like you find at gay resorts. Leaving felt bittersweet; I felt like I’d found a new family. The Argentines’ warmth and resourcefulness, despite limited resources compared to the U.S., left a deep impression. I left LG Y inspired to travel more and grateful for the kindness I experienced. My stay ended too soon. Felt sad to leave.
- Cesar (10/5): Un recuero muy lindo. Gracias Santo y Javi! Me encanto 💗 -

- Mica (9/5): - It's always fun getting to stay with Santo and Javier and be part of the little community they've established at Lugar Gay. The perfect place to relax and read while getting a full-body tan on the clothing-optional terrace. While they have a slightly rickety weight machine, I would love it if they also had a couple of free weights so I could do a bit of exercise in the mornings.

- nikash (8/5): Love the location. Great place to meet fellow travellers - San Telmo is a great neighborhood. My room aircon didn't work and had one plug point which was not the type c that usually is in Argentina. Had to charge my phone using the plug point in another guests room.
- Martin Alesandro (10/5): -
- Vidar (10/5): - The best hosts I had in years. They will help you with anything. Great location in San Telmo, Buenos Aires. San Telmo is a great area, but do not have a metro. So it's far to walk if you like to go out in the city area.
- Alberto (7/5): -
- Teofilo Giancarlo (10/5): Great hosts and great location - Javier and Santos are great hosts, always willing to help with any questions you might have and also give recommendations of places where to go. The location is great, many options where to eat near by.

- Matias Emanuel (10/5): Excepcional!
- Calliari (1/5): -
- li (9/5): Good to try - Location is good It could be quiet during the weekdays and it’s bit pricy.
- Emilio (10/5): -
- Steven (10/5): Beautiful and everything I dreamed Buenos Aires would be. - Great location and Javier and Santos were amazing hosts. They took care of me and made sure my stay was great. The room was cleaned everyday. I will stay here again.
- Pablo (10/5): -
- Renato (10/5): Lo mejor en BsAs - Todo: ubicación, decoración, comodidad
- David Morales (10/5): - Muy atentos en todo Santos y Javier. Muchas gracias por todo
- Pietro (10/5): -
No volvería
- Fernando (10/5): Extraordinario. No te lo pierdas. - Desayuno correcto.
- Grusendorf (8/5): Wonderful - We will be back We had to leave for more travel
- Depaolini (9/5): - La ubicación.
- Castellanos (10/5): -
- Walter A. MI (5/5): B&B a San Telmo - La posizione a San Telmo è ottima
- Máté (10/5): The world needs more places like this. - The atmosphere here is simply outstanding, filled with friendly and like-minded individuals. There's an inviting sense of relaxation that makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect place to unwind and connect! There is no such thing.
- A (2/5): Think twice. - The Location. *1/5 Stars*
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this property. The condition of the premises was subpar, with dilapidated furniture in the communal areas giving a negative first impression.
The walkway to the first-floor rooms was an old expanded metal floor, which looked hazardous. The bed mattress was in a poor state, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
The lack of basic amenities in the room, such as a kettle, coffee, and tea, was surprising. The bedding was also not up to standard, and the absence of a safe in the room raised concerns about security.
Overall, my stay was uncomfortable and unsatisfactory. For the price, I expected a much higher level of quality and maintenance. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property to others.
*Areas for Improvement:*
- Maintenance and upkeep of communal areas and rooms
- Replacement of old and dilapidated furniture
- Provision of basic amenities in rooms, such as a kettle, coffee, and tea
- Upgrade of bedding and mattresses
- Installation of safes in rooms
*Value for Money:* Poor
- Eric (10/5): Simply a must for gay travelers to Buenos Aires - Great atmosphere in a superb location ran by some incredibly beautiful and generous men. I wish I could stay longer. I will be back. The standard of what a B&B experience should be.
- B (10/5): Great value, Great people - Great location, all gay, great people
- Kenneth (10/5): A relaxing refuge in a bustling city. I'll be back! - The hosts are the best and my fellow guests, who came from all corners of the world were great to hang with. I don't speak Spanish but I never felt left out. It's a blast from the past and in the best way. Nothing.
- Scott (8/5): Great location & friendly staff - Friendly people, good location and good value It’s a bit old but that’s part of the charm in a way
- Olof (10/5): This is an excellent place to stay in the heart of San Telmo - Santos and Javier are excellent hosts. Santos met me at the airport and drove me to the hostel. The hostel is in an excellent location in San Telmo, with Starbucks on the corner and a public Square with many restaurants ringing the Square where you could sit for a quick bite or drink or watch a Tango show. The San Telmo market was a block away. It was easy to get around on Public Transportation. I mostly used the buses and Google Transit Maps.
Breakfast was served at 9 am and included fresh coffee, fruits, pastries, and toast.
- René (9/5): Superb - Really lovely hostel with a nice vibe! People and staff are very friendly, room and terrace is great and it's a nice atmosphere to stay, highly recommend.
- Julio (8/5): Very good -
- Thiago (8/5): Very good - The are excellent. I think they could improve a bit the bathroom.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marvinalvarez (10/5): Exceptional - Location and friendly people taking care of the place , Santo and Javier are very good people
- Namal (3/5): As cold as Siberia! Terrible - The staff were very friendly. So cold.
LGY should learn the BASICS.
It’s winter and should provide the guests with proper duvets, not some ratty blankets!
I will complain and ask for my Komi back .
- Philip (10/5): It was the best two nights I could have asked for in the city - The uniqueness and the love and openness of being one’s true self.
- Thijs (9/5): Superb - The friendly gay vibe was amazing, perfect hosts, great Tango night, comfortable transfer. The common bathroom really needs renovation. Next time I'll take a room with my own bathroom. I will be back!
- Mich (10/5): Enjoy Buenos Aires from this hostel base - If you don't speak Spanish, it's hard to make the most of the opportunities.
But the location in San Telmo is great, especially enjoyable on Sundays, and Ave.Paseo Colon, two blocks east, is convenient as it is a main bus route.
Breakfast is a bit late, starting at 9am, but it is a valuable opportunity for communication for private room guests.
Above all, Hosts Javier and Santo are nice guys. The stairs up a couple of floors are hard to get to.
I couldn't easily learn how to unlock the entrance (a normal form in Argentina) and I every time annoyed Santo, to whom I'd like to say "Sorry"
- Justin (8/5): Very good -
- Sergio (9/5): Nice stay - I liked the location and friendliness of the hosts. My room was cleaned everyday and there was plenty of light. I wish there were some fruits in the breakfast. But you can buy some in the groceries nearby and leave in the fridge for the guests
- Mica (10/5): The perfect spot for a gay vacation that's both relaxing and arousing - I had such a great time that I actually stayed one more day than I had planned. Santo and Javier were great hosts who made me feel welcome, and I loved how they organized a New Year's celebration for all the guests. The rooftop views were beautiful, and so were the guests sunbathing on the rooftop patio. I didn't use the gym equipment as much as I expected, as it was a little old and squeaky; I was worried that I'd break the machine if I put on more weight. It would be great if they could add a few free weights!
- Janney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vasily (8/5): great - Staff
- Sean (5/5): Passable -

super clean

Javier and Santo are super friendly and always available for recommandations.
Rooms are nice and clean.
I attended a Tango course on premises, it was great.
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- José (7/5): Good - - The guys were kind and gave us plenty recommendations for restaurants and clubs.
- the Friday tango lesson and party are amazing and they should keep doing it, it was the highlight of my stay.
- it’s right next to the Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo, amazing is you are planning to be around in Sunday for the market.
- walking distance to all san Telmo, 15 minutes to casa rosa and plaza de mayo. 18 minutes walking distance to Puerto Madero.
- we thanks them for keeping our luggage for 2 days while we went to Iguazú. this was very appreciate. The place is in a great location, unfortunately, the building is in need of a good restoration. Moreover, there is a gas smell when walking up the stairs in the entrance.
If they remodel a little bit, this place is a gem.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Randall (9/5): Superb -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raymond (10/5): Awesome stay in Buenos Aires! - Wonderful bed and breakfast in the heart of San Telmo in beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina! Javier and Santo are great at taking care of you and helpful with providing tips in touring the city. I stayed in the double half of my trip and in the single with the bathroom for the later half of my trip and both were just fine. The terrace is nice for sunbathing and relaxing. Definitely join in on the queer tango class on Fridays; you’ll meet great people and have a lot of fun. Highly recommend for any gay traveler passing through Buenos Aires on vacation!
- Agustin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (8/5): lovely gay stay - very friendly and helpful hosts. Amazing rooftop and in a nice location! I found the open showers a little intimidating but that’s just me. otherwise no hassles!
- Bessa (10/5): Exceptional - Adorei a proposta do hostel
- Mark (1/5): Bad -
- Paul (9/5): brilliant - the owners are really friendly and we’re extremely helpful one negative the number of steps to get to the hotel there is no lift
- Orlando (10/5): Very pleasant - Everything was very good. Location is amazing. The place met all my expectations.
