- Jitka (10/5): Your family home in Mendoza city centre - Plaza Italia bed and breakfast is a lovely town house right in the centre of Mendoza. Plaza italia is one of the four main squares in the city that surround the main square Plaza Independencia. The central location is not the only advantage of this property. The main asset are the owners and the house itself, a very tastefully furnished apartment with comfortable large rooms for guests. Javier, the owner, also organises wine trips, we had an unforgettable day in Uco Valley. Thank you so much for your exquisite hospitality! Plaza Italia also has 3 excellent restaurants for added comfort: Ceibo, Carolino, Fuente y Fonda.
- Asel (10/5): - Great location, wonderful hosts, beautiful home.
- Padraic (9/5): -
- Jeffrey (10/5): Wonderful B&B in the heart of Mendoza. - Wonderful homely B&B right in the centre of Mendoza. The B&B is right on Plaza Italia an upscale neighbourhood with restaurants and conveniences around the square. Our hosts were superb and know how to extend a genuine welcome. The B&B is an architect designed accommodation which I would highly recommend it recommend. Breakfast was lovely and very accommodating for our early start. Next door the Fuente y Fonda restaurant was superb! All good.
- The (10/5): - L'accueil par le propriétaire, l'emplacement,le caractère de la maison,le petit déjeuner
- Thomas (10/5): The perfect say in Mendoza - A beautifully renovated home into a wonderful B&B. It is in a great center location with walking distance to everything. It was comfortable, quiet, and very intimate stay. Javier was an outstanding host who has grown up in Mendoza and is full of valuable knowledge and great suggestions. Make sure you book the amazing wine tour he offers. Can’t imagine a better stay. We simply over it! Thank you Javier for an amazing Mendoza experience.
- Kathy (10/5): This is a wonderful place to stay in Mendoza. - Lovely house in terrific location with helpful owners who clearly want their guests to enjoy Mendoza and their stay at the B and B. Javier took us to three interesting wineries in the Valle de Uco and helped us book a day trip to Aconcagua. We enjoyed meeting and chatting with other guests at the breakfast table. This was a great find. No suggestions.
- RICARDO (8/5): - Estacionamiento en la calle
- John (7/5): - Good quiet location. Good communication. Cash payment only. Average breakfast.
- Virginia (10/5): - It was super close to everything. Everything was walkable, the recommendations that we received from our host, Mercedes was perfect. We ate great the entire time! The breakfast was delicious every morning!
- Peter (10/5): Super friendly central location for exploring Mendoza city and vineyards - Great central location on Plaza Italia next to an excellent restaurant also short walk from 2 main streets for restaurants. Mercedes, Javier and their team provide a home from home stay. We had lovely chats with Mercedes, Javier has excellent tips for restaurants.
We also took an all day vineyard tour with Javier which is highly recommended with trips to a small family winery, Familia Cassone with very enthusiastic sommelier and a larger winery , Piatelli located by a small lake then a excellent late lunch @ La Madrid (with wine of course!). Javier had other wineries on his tours I am sure they will also be great!
- Nicholas (9/5): Personal Stay - Lovely and friendly owner. Large and well equipped bedroom. Large breakfast. Very central location.
- Rodrigo (8/5): Cumple 100% lo que promete -
- Mathieu (9/5): Mon seul regret est de ne pas avoir pu y séjourner plus longtemps. - L’accueil chaleureux.
- Clara (8/5): Very good -
- Harley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): When in Mendoza, you should stay at Bed and Breakfast Plaza Italia! - It’s located within blocks of so many restaurants and parks, we went to some of Javier’s recommendations and need to come back to try more! Our room was large and had the most comfortable bed, breakfast was lovely. Of course, our wine tour with Javier was THE BEST part! We loved going to three very different bodegas, the wines were all fantastic (as was lunch). We absolutely recommend!

- Neil (10/5): First class hospitality in the heart of Mendoza - B&B Plaza Italia is a wonderful guest house in the heart of Mendoza. It is cosy and comfortable, with a lovely secluded outdoor seating area at the back. One can walk freely and easily to most places because it is so well located. But the very best part of my stay was the hospitality. Mercedes is a warm and welcoming host. And Javier is unstinting in his efforts to make your stay and related travel plans run as smoothly as possible. He was incredibly helpful to me during my stay and is a very knowledgable and well connected Mendocino. Highly recommended.
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (9/5): Friendly home-away-from-home atmosphere in a central location. - A very well-maintained family home, which has been turned into a family-atmosphere B&B. The hosts are extremely helpful, and Sra Mercedes is delightful. Everything is clean, breakfast plentiful and the location central. In addition, they try to cater to travellers' needs, enabling the storage of luggage and recommending restaurants and anything else that may be useful.
- Francesca (9/5): Memorable stay in unique, elegant, and well located home. - Mercedes and her son Javier were superb hosts - felt like staying with local friends who had a wealth of good recommendations for all tastes. Javier’s wine tour was excellent. The B&B is perfectly located and the common parts are extremely tasteful and elegant. The bed was very comfortable. We didn’t want to leave and we very much hope to return to this delightful abode in lovely Mendoza. Nothing
- Stack (5/5): Passable - This BnB located on Plaza d'Italia in central Mendoza. Location pretty good located a couple of blocks from the main street and a leafy park across the road. Location reasonably quiet. The owner Mercedes is a lovely lady who tried to make my stay special The BnB is the former home of the owner. It is getting a bit dated and parts of the building require maintenance. Some light switches don't work, the hot water did not work in the shower in my first room and the air-conditioning did not work properly in my second room. Some rooms are small.
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Frank (9/5): Overnight in Mendoza - Unique, home like, intimate and comfortable. Bedrooms a little odd but functional.
- Ciara (10/5): Exceptional - Great introduction to the city on arrival by the owner Mercedes. Fabulous location and very comfortable bed!
- Prapti (9/5): Superb -
- Mount (10/5): Would definitely go back. - Great location and really well maintained, particularly outside and downstairs. The bedroom was a little tired.
The owner recommended a restaurant in Plaza Italia (Carolino Cocina) which was terrible. The worst meal we had in our three weeks in Argentina.
- Dhairya (9/5): Highly recommend for visiting Mendoza old town - Staff was super helpful and friendly. Decor was very nice. Location was very convenient
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simone (10/5): Mendoza is wonderful great food wine and people will miss this place ❤️❤️❤️ - Felt like home
Great location could walk everywhere

Mercedes was just a fabulous host
We didn’t want to leave ❤️
- Chase (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ping (8/5): Very good -
- Laurence (10/5): Exceptional - Central location. Excellent host. Superb winetours
- Lindsey (8/5): Great location, clean, friendly owner - Great location, very helpful and friendly owner who took time to explain the city, quiet room. The bathroom was very small, but otherwise the room and set up met our needs.
- Andreea (10/5): B&B experience at its finest - Fantistic little gem! The owners are giving a master class in hospitality. This is B&B at its finest, with Mercedes greeting you as if you were royal. Her elegant way to welcome you and her knowledge and tips around the area are outstanding!
The wine tour we booked with Javier led to a fantastic experience and it’s a must for everyone! He knows where to go and provided a rounded, comprehensive experience. Definitely, one of the best worldwide stays we had so far. Nothing - but for some guests, paying only in cash could be a nuisance. Otherwise perfect.
- Kerryn (9/5): This is a unique bed and breakfast in the heart of Mendoza. It is like being in a home away from home. We were really co - The beautiful welcome and support throughout our stay from Mercedes and Javier. The location is excellent and we really enjoyed breakfast and interaction with the other guests. There was nothing we didn’t like.
- Rose (7/5): We enjoyed our time at B&B Plaza Italia. Great location opposite the Plaza Italia. - Location was good and walking distance to lots of restaurants, cafes etc.
Breakfast was fine. Good to meet with fellow travellers too. All was good.
- Jennifer (10/5): A great personal experience, a beautiful property and great location. - A unique hotel in a great location, with a personal touch from the owners and the staff to help make sure your stay is exceptional. It was walkable to all of the central Mendoza attractions. Nil
- Meredith (9/5): Superb -
- Nicola (9/5): Warm atmosphere, good room, friendly host. - The breakfast was very good and the location was excellent. It was all good. Very welcoming and extremely helpful.
- Mike (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Rita (4/5): Buyer beware - The staff were very friendly and location was good. When paying, we were charged full blue dollar rate compared to local Argentinian price. There is a 5 star hotel down the road which was cheaper.
- Josh (10/5): An authentic hospitality experience - We loved our stay at Bed and Breakfast Plaza Italia. Our host Javier was exquisite - knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, funny, and with a great taste in music. He planned incredible wine-tasting outings for us, was patient, but kept us on schedule. We asked him a lot of questions along the way and received some very cool history lessons / explanations along the way. Honestly, we could not have anticipated a better experience. The home was Javier's mother's home, and she's been hosting guests for over 20 years - this is a genuine hospitality experience at its finest. Paying in cash put a little pressure on us to have USD on us for the whole beginning of our trip, which added just another thing to think about on our trip. It wasn't a big deal, just made us a little extra cautious. We felt safe everywhere in Argentina.
- Brigitte (7/5): It was adequate for our stay. - Location & liked the chair in bathroom for sitting after our toiletry. Needs a physical update. Didn’t like the ac blowing on our heads to stay cool. Without it, was very stuffy & hot in the room. Bed was a little soft for me. Sheets slightly worn. Needed more surface space beside bed for personal items. Staff pleasant.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Christoff (9/5): Superb -
- Tanya (9/5): Superb - Front desk staff were helpful and the hotel was in an excellent location in order to walk everywhere.
Had a lovely wine reception one night which was a great way to meet others staying at the hotel.⁸
- James (10/5): Great location , owners fabulous and so helpful. Highly recommend. - The owners of the property were lovely. Very helpful and went out of there way to help us. No complaints.
- Michaela (10/5): Great stay in Mendoza - What a great choice to stay at the B&B Plaza Italia.
Awesome and very friendly and helpful host.
All very clean and cosy - great breakfast.
Would for sure stay there again when visiting Mendoza again !
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Colleen (10/5): A proper B&B with attentive and warm hosts who care about their property and about Mendoza - The breakfast offered something for all tastes and was generous and unrushed. The location is quiet and benefits from being opposite Plaza Italia, yet is an easy walk to everything you need including some very good restaurants.
- Daniel (10/5): Great place in the heart of Mendoza. - A great little B&B in the heart of Mendoza. Wonderful and friendly staff. Felt like staying in your grandma's house. Highly recommend!! The room we stayed in was smaller than we expected, but it was still nice and cozy.
- Savvoula (6/5): B&B in the city centre - The location was fantastic (in the city centre close to restaurants). Mercedes (the owner lives in the house) and she is very polite even gave us very good instructions re restaurants. Javier (her son) tried to help us with exchange. We heard from another guest that Javier was very good for wine tours but we had already booked elsewhere. The girls were polite and sorted out our taxi to the airport. Be aware that you need to pay in cash!!! Not the owners fault (it’s clearly stated when you book it but as we had been traveling hadn’t realised but the day before). Also because we paid cash it cost us double the money it would have cost us by credit card ( currency fluctuation. The breakfast was ok. Our room in the ground floor was not soundproof and it was dated. Needed renovation ,
- Andrea (10/5): Lovely home and owners ❤️ - The owners, sitting down with the mamma whose heritage is Piemonte where I am originally from and hearing her family stories, the experience of being in a home, the peacefullness of the place, and the proximity the center. The excursion I took with mamma’s son to the wine country was a memorable experience. It felt like being with a long-time friend opening his heart and offering his knowledge of the area. Nada - if you book this place, you book the experience and not a reason to compare it to a hotel experience.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Susana (3/5): Poor -
- Zolt (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Juanjose (10/5): Loved it! Would stay again! - Loved the location and the owner was SO sweet, helpful, and accommodating! Nothing we didn’t like but we didn’t realize it was cash only.
- Julienne (8/5): The Plaza Italia was in a perfect location and the owners were kind, accommodating and knowledgeable - Breakfast was served with many choices. Payment in U S dollars
- Merel (9/5): Fantastic experience - Great welcome into this family home.
Wonderful location, fantastic breakfast and many great stories and advice from the owners.
- Anne (9/5): Perfect location. - A very small B&B in a central location overlooking a small park.
Has a small sunny courtyard to sit outside.
The very lovely Mercedes tells you everything you need to know.
Javier offers a nice wine tour. Unfortunately our very large room had a separate bathroom with a key.
This was made completely clear to us before we booked.
Next time I will book earlier to get an en-suite.
- Thomas (6/5): Great location - Breakfast was average. Same biscuits and cake the whole 4 days. Fruit old.
Location very good. Felt the owner was more into making sure we had US dollars in large denominations than being welcoming. No reduction for paying cash either, considering the exchange rate. Breakfast. No feeling of warmth and welcome.
- Madeline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (9/5): Superb -
- Oiyee (9/5): We were very well looked after from Javier and Mercedes. They organised our day tours and taxis. Javier made great selec - The attention we got from the host to make sure we had a good stay and where to eat and shop in Mendoza. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about this place
- Hermann (10/5): An excellent experience - A wonderful old building in the center of the town at Plaza Italia with a beautiful interior design. The hospitality of the owner is excellent.
- Peter (10/5): The only place to stay in Mendoza! - We had an amazing stay. Very comfortable rooms, great breakfast and perfect hosts. The property is located in a perfect area for bars and restaurants. Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Excellent value stay in elegant home with great location and family friendliness. - The breakfast was outstanding with a varied table of food, and dishes made on request. Setting in a beautiful classic home, converted for rental use. Our home is your home philosophy, Family members went overboard to help use when I entered the facility ill, then left feeling better! The location is excellent, near stores and restaurants, and a short walk to the city central and walking street.
- Lin (10/5): It was a fabulous stay at an outstanding B+B that thoroughly heightened our time in Mendoza! - The Bed and Breakfast was their family home and it received us with with a loving family energy. The hosts, Javier and Mercedes, are wonderful people in every aspect; great personal communication with excellent and informative perspectives on Mendoza and Argentina.. and with a great sense of humor!
Our room was beautiful, had “everything we needed and wanted” and was unbelievably comfortable. The bed was better than excellent and we slept like babies and the air condioner (critical in Mendoza) did not make a sound … what a blessing!!! The bathroom had a great shower, plenty of hot water and huge, absorbent bath sheets. The common spaces, living room and dining room, were comfortable where we met some wonderful other guests. And the Breakfasts were just delicious .. served with smiles by Vanessa and Vanina.
We travel a lot and have stayed in many high quality B+Bs and we can say, unequivocally, that Javier and Mercedes have created and offer one of the BEST we have experienced in the Americas and Europe.
- Jon (10/5): comfortable, well located and excellent host - comfortable, well located and excellent host
- Wyness (10/5): Recommeded - Very helpful and friendly staff. Good location, everything you need. Nothing, all good.
- Yves (10/5): Exceptional - We were welcomed by Javier and Mercedes owning the B&B. Their home has been nicely arranged.. the room is nice and comfortable with a spacious bathroom. The room is isolated from external noise with 2 windows. The breakfast is excellent with a nice choice.
- Mark (10/5): There are more luxurious/expensive hotels in Mendoza. For us, the value and service here makes this B&B an EXCEP - Everything-but particularly the staff. Javier is so good, so very helpful for everything, excellent English and communication skills! For first time visitors to Argentina, he helped make our entire stay perfect!
- Torstein (9/5): excellent stay. The host Javier speaks exellent english. His wine tour is highly recommended. - Perfect location. Very good breakfast Not applicable
- Saranyah (9/5): Superb -
- Alisha (9/5): Superb - The location was great. Mercedes and Javier were both so kind and helpful getting us situated in Mendoza.
- Fdh2014 (10/5): Fantastic vacation - We loved the stay at this place!
The host Mercedes was very warm and super friendly and helpful. This is truly the experience we were looking for : stay at a local family home and feel like home away home. What’s more she and her family (we met her daughter and son) we’re very intelligent and open to share with us the history of Argentina.
If we come back to Mendoza again we will for sure stay here.
Thanks a lot or Mucha Gracious!
- Louise (8/5): Worth a stop, but a little expensive in my view. - Clean rooms set in a beautiful home. Very comfortable. Great location. If you pay in peso you will be charged at the blue dollar exchange rate which makes it quite expensive.
Breakfast could also be more varied.
- Claude (9/5): Delightful except for disagreement over settling the bill. - Mercedes, the co-owner and hostess, was charming and very helpful. The property is her former residence and continues to look like a private home. It’s location on the Plaza Italia is perfect. There was some disagreement with the other co-owner over the exchange rate to be used in determining the peso price. In the end, it was satisfactory to us. Since Argentina has multiple legal exchange rates, but at present only one “official” rate,(and the system is subject to constant change), suggest future guests have a prior understanding directly with the B&B as to what exchange rate will be used if you pay the hotel in local currency. If you are willing to hand the hotel U.S. dollars in cash (they do not take credit cards), there will be no problem, but that is by far the most expensive way to pay for goods and services in Argentina.
- Mary (10/5): We would definitely stay here again but perhaps request a room on the upper level. - loved the location, helpfulness of staff and the breakfast. Plumbing issue with our toilet was quickly resolved. Our room, which was probably the last one available for the 4 nights we needed, was on the street level in the front and sometimes we heard a lot of street noise.
- Ahmed (8/5): excellent place for a great rate - centrally located, easy to come and go, spacious, nice people while we were informed ahead of time, I didn’t like that the bathroom was outside of the room.
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional - Great little b&b in an excellent location very central in Mendoza. Mercedes, the owner of the house was very attentive and super helpful.
- Stephen (9/5): Excellent stay at Plaza Italia, and a great way to end a vacation. - Great location in Plaza Italia, one of our favourite places in Mendoza. Excellent small bed and breakfast. Well decorated room, quiet and peaqceful Bathroom could use some updating.
- Juliana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (8/5): Very good - Location was great, near parks and restaurants.
Javier and his mother were wonderful hosts. Bathroom was very small, especially the shower.
