Guest Reviews
- Arthur (8/5): - Toller Gemeinschaftsraum mit Kaffee, Tee, TV usw.
- Edibe (4/5): Price-quality wise overrated for sure. - The livingroom with tea and coffee is comfortable and makes the place feel cosy. Really nice that this is provided.
The location is great.
The staff of the restaurant is really friendly. I I think my experience with the manager was an exception—at least, I hope so. I still want to share it because I felt very uncomfortable and somewhat intimidated. I had booked a double room (it said double room with two single beds), but upon arrival I was given a small room with a single bed. I explained that I had booked a double room, but the manager gave argument that didn’t make sense (that bookings were based on occupancy, that there had originally been a second bed in the room but that they had removed it because the room was too small). She said she couldn’t give me another room because they were fully booked. She also didn’t want to give me a discount. She was quite direct and clearly annoyed with me. She raised her voice and said, “You don’t understand,” after I kept insisting that I hadn’t booked a single room.
I ended up paying because it was late at night and I didn’t know where else to go. Eventually, she apologized (seemingly with some reluctance and effort) and said she would discuss it with the owners.
Even with Booking.com's intervention, we were unable to reach a resolution
A few days after I left the hotel, she sent me a WhatsApp message with a photo of a single room from the add of Booking.com, implying that she was right. After I sent her a screenshot of my booking confirmation showing that I had booked a double room with two beds, she claimed that that was Booking.com responsibility.
Further the place is quite outdated. The beds are old or bad quality: they creak with every movement.

- Piotr (10/5): Perfect, friendly, home like - just to recommend. - We stayed at Laura’s B&B for just one night, but it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable stays we had during our trip across Albania.
Communication with Ms. Katie, the host, was excellent from the start. She was responsive, helpful, and flexible, and she personally welcomed us on arrival. It is worth agreeing your arrival time in advance, as there is no 24-hour reception, but everything was handled smoothly.
What stands out most is Ms. Katie herself. She creates an atmosphere that feels genuinely warm and personal. It does not come across as a purely commercial setup, but rather as a place she takes pride in sharing. There is a natural ease and friendliness to her approach that will likely resonate with American travelers in particular, as it feels both attentive and sincere without being overbearing.
On arrival, we were shown both our room and the common area. The shared space is thoughtfully arranged, with a microwave, coffee machine, kettle, and a good selection of tea and coffee. There are comfortable sofas, a TV, and a relaxed, welcoming feel. Everything was impeccably clean. We ended up spending a good part of the evening there, unwinding with tea and watching TV.
The room was equally comfortable. Spotless, well-maintained, and with a slightly nostalgic charm, like staying in a well-kept family home. The beds were very comfortable, there was an efficient air conditioning unit, and a clean, functional bathroom with a shower. Despite facing the street, the room was quiet, and the overall atmosphere was calm and restful.
The location is another strong point. It is roughly a five-minute walk to the New Bazaar and about ten minutes to Skanderbeg Square. There is also a nearby Spar and an ATM, which is practical given that card payments are not always accepted everywhere.
We opted for breakfast, which is served in the restaurant below, and it was well worth it. The portions were generous to the point of being difficult to finish. There were not such a thing.
Ontbijt in het restaurant beneden was erg lekker. Locatie is perfect.
- John (9/5): Nice Stay in Tirana - Great location. Very clean. Friendly staff. Quiet.
- Dorota (10/5): - Everything! Super polite and supportive stuff (thank you, Katie 🙏), flexibility, very tasty breakfast, lounge with tea&coffee 24/7 and location :) -
- John (10/5): My entire stay was wonderful. - My entire stay was wonderful. The hotel, the restaurant, and every team member at the hotel and restaurant were simply amazing! The Stephen Center is now the only place I will stay at during my trips to Tirana. I am actually staying there for a few days in April! 5 STARS for everyone!! N/A
- Maxim (10/5): -
- Paula (10/5): This place is wonderful. - Excellent breakfast, central location that was perfect for us.
Warm, friendly staff, made great connections with taxi and tour guide, who were both excellent. Nothing
- Tim (9/5): I'll.be back whenever in tirana - Close to center, Good breakfast- pleasant staff- very nice meeting place for business
- Steve (10/5): - It was a great stay. Nothing
- Odetta (9/5): -
- Davide (8/5): -
- Sabine (10/5): -
- Conor (9/5): It was like going home! - The service was great, very friendly staff and lovley food. Location is very convenient. The common room or living room was very comfy, it felt almost like going home. There was nothing I didn't like.
- YANCHENG (6/5): Didn’t sleep well. - The location is perfect, as it’s close to the city center and restaurants and airport shuttle bus.
The room is also clean!
Reception process also quite clear. Buttttt, my room is nearby the main road, window’s effect of soundproofing not so good. Too noisy to fall asleep.
And there are no proper quilts, only 1 thin blanket. As the date is quite cold, I have asked for thicker quilts, but the answer is no….only more thin blankets.
Btw, no breakfast in Sunday as their kitchen closed. Only a croissant and a banana.
- Ezgi (10/5): Tiran Merkezde Gönül Rahatlığıyla Konaklama - Her gün oda temizlenmesi çok hoşumuza gitti. Temizlik titizlikle yapılıyor. Dana işini düzgün yapan bir çalışan. Kendisi çok kibar ve yardımsever. Kahvaltıyı çok beğendik. Eggs Benedict with avocado favorimiz oldu kaldığımız süre boyunca onu ve pancake with blueberry sipariş verdik. Yolunuz Tiran’a düşerse mutlaka tercih edebilirsiniz.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Katie, the manager, and Donna, her assistant, are both lovely, kind people. The location is excellent, and having the restaurant also available was a nice perk.
- Xhafer (8/5): -
- Bartłomiej (10/5): - Great place, great people.
- Shari (10/5): -
Polecam.
- Karlyn (10/5): We were so glad we stumbled the BEST a place to stay in Tirana! You will not regret it. - What a great place to land when visiting Tirana, Albania! We arrived at 1:30 am from the airport by a taxi that was arranged by the Stephens Center staff. What a relief that was and boy did that bed feel great. Breakfast was made to order by the hotel restaurant and was served until 11:30 am. The staff (Katie) was helpful and friendly. The Stephens Center is centrally located to EVERYTHING in Tirana you want to see. Lastly, the bonus was access a delightful lounge/living room area with coffee/tea, cookies, kettle, microwave and reading material. We spent a LOT of time enjoying the world go by right below the cute balcony. HIGHLY recommend a stay here! It was ALL amazing!
- luigi (10/5): - Posizione centrale Tutto ok
- Giovanni (10/5): - Molto centrale
- Sylvia (9/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): We had a very nice visit with helpful staff for organizing transportation. Excellent food in the restaurant. - Nice location for walking to restaurants and shops.
- Francesca (8/5): -
- Lorri (10/5): Clean, comfortable, convenient - The guest lounge with wifi, snacks, coffee and a homey environment for working or relaxing. Breakfast was also very good
- Levent (10/5): It’s nice to stay there - The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, though a bit small—but it had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was great. We didn’t stay long, but we were very pleased overall. The location was very central, but there was construction work right across the street, so it was a bit noisy. Traffic was heavy, and we had trouble finding the right place to park the car. I think this is common in Tirana—drivers seem to prefer parking on the right lane.
The most important thing is don’t trust Google maps because it’s route us wrong way with a dead end.
- Constance (10/5): Great stay in super location. - Location, comfort, cleanliness, friendliness and helpfulness of staff. The breakfast included was ample and tasty.
There was also a very comfortable lounge for guests to use.
The Center is right on the bus line for Bunk Art 1 and for the aerial cable car that goes up the mountain. It is also very close to the main square and other sites. N/A
- Michael (9/5): Great first landing in Tirana. - Super conveniently located in the city center. Welcoming and responsive staff. Helped to arrange airport taxi for our late night arrival. A bit noisy but inevitable given the location.
- Ann (7/5): Good - The location is very central and the sitting room was lovely as you could make cups of tea. It felt safe and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was included, but this was restricted to €6 in the restaurant below the B&B. The menu was very limited.
Having arranged to meet us, we waited for a long time before we were told by a waiter in a nearby cafe that the entrance was round the corner. A sign making this clear on the restaurant door would be very helpful.
- Deni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bonfrere (10/5): Exceptional - The staff of the Stephen Center really went above and beyond our expectations. When we let them know that we would skip breakfast due to our early flight, they prepared a goody bag for all seven of us so we wouldn't have to fly on an empty stomach.
The location is amazing in the centre of Tirana, it's a short walk from the square.
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional - Location to centrality of city and bizarre. Additionally, the property was responsive to qs in timely manner and the breakfast was very good!
- Esther (10/5): The Stephen Center is always a comfortable place to stay - Katie is very friendly and responsive to questions, the breakfast was good, and the location is right next to the bizarre and a short walk to anything you could need.
- William (10/5): Great host, and great breakfast! - Great host, and great breakfast!
- Carl (10/5): Very relaxed and welcoming - The value was great and the included breakfast was amazing. The lounge was also comfortable and inviting. The shower was a bit small but was adiquite.
- Friderike (10/5): Exceptional - The Stephen B&B has the cosiness that I was missing during all my travel through Albania. I did not find it in any other hostal nor in expensive hotels. I really at home and the manager was very welcoming and helpful.
In the middle of the buzzing city centre, it was a quiet oasis.
- David (9/5): Great location to explore the city, 5 mins walk to the bus station, lots of bars, restaurants on the doorstep👍 - Comfortable clean rooms, residents lounge with free tea, coffee & cookies. Delicious breakfast, staff so friendly & helpful, arranged transport from the airport & to our next destination. Highly recommend
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alena (10/5): Pleasant stay in a city centre - Everything was perfect, the location is a few steps from the city center, the restaurant and café just next door. The staff was very friendly and willing, the manazer Katie kindly offered me any help in case of need. The room was cozy and clean, a comfortable lounge room with balconies and coffee/tea set is available what´s very nice for spending some time there. It was a pleasant stay, I enjoyed it.
- Stella (8/5): Good, central location and good value for money. - The manager Katie was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms, although quite simple, were very clean and comfortable.
It was a good, central location. It was nice to have a lounge with access to tea, coffee etc and a fridge. We were also able to check in early. The road was very noisy from around 6am. Although breakfast was included in the price it was limited in choice. You could pay extra for more choice however. We decided to opt for coffee and cake out instead. There wasn't a hairdryer provided but neither of us needed one but it could be an issue for other guests.
- Inger-johanne (10/5): Stephan Center is close to everything, a home away from home! 😍 - Everything; the place, the silent and cozy room, the lounge-room with balconies, the friendly and helpfull staff! It wasn’t the first time for us, and that says the most! Nothing!
- Ulvi (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great. Very clean room and comfortable bed. There is a very cozy lounge with balconies and a coffee corner for visitors. My flight was delayed and I arrived at the accommodation after midnight. The waiter of the accommodation restaurant waited for my arrival, I am very grateful. The breakfast was very tasty.
- Jennifer (10/5): Lovely, clean, small, intimate place to rest and recharge ! - Katie the host was most generous and kind. She prepared a carry away breakfast for our very early morning departure. There are only a few rooms here, so it has an intimate feel. The restaurant downstairs is excellent - I enjoyed the familiar banana pancakes after eating traditional, delicious but... 3 weeks of Albanian food. Great location near the New Market, and many sidewalk food stalls, so touristy but NOT downtown touristy.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The owners were so helpful and accommodating! Breakfast was amazing!
- Pasi (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location near airport buses. Very clean rooms and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff!
- Nick (10/5): Recommend! -
- Joanna (9/5): I would stay here again! - Friendly staff, convenient location, amazing breakfast, clean and comfortable room. Nothing
- Tsitsi (10/5): I was met with amazing help when I needed it the most - The kindest people I ever met on a holiday . Thank you for making me realize that there is still kindness in humanity despite how the world is today Nothing
- Filip (4/5): Disappointing - Friendly staff, good location Rooms very small, old furniture, a really basic bathroom, and aircon was not working, just blowing, iit was 33 outside. More an accommodation you were expecting 20 years ago. Very expensive, for similar price you find 4* locations. I have paid the room, but did not stay.
- Richard (5/5): Beautiful and typically eccentric Tirana location, the room was fine. Dispapointing breakfast. - Quiet considering the location, and very close to some of the best and atmospheric places in the city. Although it's hardly luxurious, it's fine if you're using the place to sleep, use the free wireless internet and have a shower every morning. The free tea, coffee and biscuits in the shared lounge were an unexpected pleasant surprise. I've been visiting Albania for almost 20 years, and I've sometimes had a perfectly adequate sandwich and an espresso on the outdoor terrace he, which is a consistantly brilliant location for getting some rest and watching the chaos of Tirana life in the surrounding area. As a breakfast location for the attached B&B however, it was a disappointment. The menu of set items didn't make a lot of sense, and the food, when it was eventually delivered by one of the unenthusiastic waiters, was breathtakingly average, so average in fact that I stopped eating it on the second day of my week-long trip.
- Tor (10/5): Exceptional - Very convenient location near a lot of restaurants. Very pleasant personnel and a good breakfast.
- Guzheng (10/5): Wonderful atmosphere and outstanding breakfast. - All the services provided from Stephen center was excellent. I arrived this B&B after midnight. It was not their check-in time. But they gave me all the necessary information in advance. It was very accurate and I had no issue to reach the comfortable room. Next morning, they provided the tasty breakfast after usual breakfast time. Everything I got from Stephen center was fantastic. Thank you very much, Laura, Katie and all other staffs of Stephen center.
- Esther (10/5): Exceptional - The Stephen Center B&B is a great, comfortable, quiet place to stay, with kind staff members. It is within walking distance from the square and other sightseeing places.
- Leslie (9/5): Superb - The staff, community room the 2 balconies they had only small seating area for 2 persons each one of them but you could watch the world go by the community room had good furniture and was
Peaceful The room i was in was a bit of a squeeze in the bathroom but otgerwise i managed having a shower using toilet etc
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice bed and breakfast run by hospitable Americans. They arranged a taxi for me twice which was very helpful. Location and breakfast of the b&b is very good. Thanks a lot!
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Lynne (10/5): We were given a warm welcome with excellent accommodation and food. - Good choice for breakfast. Well cooked and presented. Staff very helpful. Nothing all good.
- Ogburn (10/5): Comfortable stay with friendly atmosphere - The people running and working at the Stephen Center are the most kind and helpful ever. Very comfortable beds and living area.
- Travers (9/5): Central oasis - In the centre of Tirana but a quiet oasis. The staff are caring and the room comfortable. This is our third visit which speaks for itself.
- Stanley (9/5): The Stephen Center was clean, comfortable, with nice amenities, great restaurant and superb location -
- Krista (8/5): Very good -
- Bill (10/5): Very pleasant and enjoyable with very friendly and helpful staff. The food is excellent. - Breakfast was outstanding. The location is very good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pricing was very fair which crated a great value for the money. It is a fun place to stay. Katie is very helpful and we enjoyed meeting and visiting with her. A little noisy outside, but not too bad since the windows are fairly tight.
- Richard (10/5): Stephen Centre B&B is the perfect location to explore Tirana. Could not have asked for anything more - Perfect location for sightseeing Tirana. Very friendly and hospitable staff. Wonderful food and atmosphere. Accommodation was perfect with everything you needed. Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, apart from my own!
- Irma (10/5): Wonderful place, delicious breakfast! - The property was very cozy, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very nice, with the owner, Laura, welcoming us with a wonderful smile. Everyone was friendly and smiling, and the customer service was excellent. We really enjoyed our one-night stay and plan to come back.
- James (10/5): It was an oasis in a busy city. We will certainly recommend it and be bank next year - The breakfast was delicious. Good selection Everything was excellent. There was nothing we didn’t like
- Eilidh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Delawgnr (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location. Extremely friendly and helpful. A small frigo or Minibar in the room would be nice.
- Rf (10/5): Wonderful one night stay at Christian Hotel. - Host and Hostess are wonderful. Food is very good. Homemade ice cream is their specialty. Parking, but this is beyond their control
- Sami (9/5): Strategic position and real American kindness - Great position and rooms are clean and comfortable.
Also the common room is lovely
Second time I come here I felt very comfortable and welcomed by all the staff. Breakfast as always great Only thing despite the first time breakfast portions were smaller and choices were restricted. But nevertheless good
- Hazzan (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent staff and service! I recommend anyone to go there!
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Milcent (10/5): Exceptional - Super welcoming staff, and the room was spotless and very comfortable. It's also located right in the city centre, I would definitely recommend it :)
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sofia (10/5): Laura, Chris, Katie, Dana & all the people running this place were so kind & accomodating. The best! - Amazing breakfast. Welcoming, kind, and accomodating staff. Clean, properly air conditioned room with all necessities.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kara (10/5): Familiarity was comforting and stay was cozy - Everything walking distance from b & b.. the welcome when we got in was lovely.. familiarity of an English speaking (first language) host in an otherwise different city different everything was great after traveling all down the Balkan coast, and arriving via a hot bumpy bus into Tirana. the stay was cozy and centrally located. nothing
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are wonderful and go to extremes to make our stay perfect. The restaurant food was great, American style food in an European country. The prices were very reasonable. Their rooms were great and low cost compared to the States We loved all of it!
- Hamid (8/5): Very good - I really like the Mr & Mrs who are the owner of this property, really helpful in every thing the place is good to stay and it's good comfortable There is some noise outside specially I felt at night also the ac was not in good working condition
- Ksenia (10/5): Amazing hosts and great room - I liked everything! The room was a bit small but very nice and spotless clean! The breakfast was amazing, served in the restaurant downstairs, the location is perfect too. Special thanks to the hosts, Laura and Katie. Ladies, you're the best! If I ever come to Tirana again, I'll definitely come back to your place :)
- Yvonne (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (10/5): Exceptional - Lack of parking
- Scott (8/5): Great location with helpful staff. enjoyed the communal lounge - great location noisy pipes or extractor fan
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome location right at Pazari i Ri but also very close walking distance to the City Centre and to Blloku neighborhood.. best located place in Tirana i would say.
Katie the manager is a very kind host, she put a lot of effort in answering all my inquiries about the arrival..you can see they love their work and put all their heart in the B&B.
Delicious (american) food at their own restaurant which is also liked by many locals Breakfast is only included up to 5Euros the rest you pay extra- which is totally fair in my opinion.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, pleasant, exceptionally friendly, excellently located, tasteful accommodation with perfect service and friendly staff who want to help you. If I go to Tirana, I will only stay here. Maybe even differently: Wherever I go, I want the Stephen Center B&B to be there.
