Guest Reviews
- Clare (10/5): Fabulous place - It was very comfortable, quiet and well looked after. We had a wonderful stay. Nothing
- Sian (9/5): -
- Tanya (8/5): -
- John (9/5): - Richard & Jan have created a lovely country getaway spot which sits perfectly between Yankalilla & Normanville.
The accommodation is very nice & tidy with a lovely breakfast provided for our two night stay (not to mention a bonus complimentary wine).
The highlight for us was early the next morning, finding a kangaroo with her joey literally at our back door. This was something we hadn't previously experienced when travelling into the countryside so we felt very close to nature during our stay.
- Shari (10/5): Perfect, peaceful time away. - Such a lovely place to stay, very serene and has everything you need :)
- Sophie (10/5): - Quiet, private and a quick drive to the beach and shops. The owners are delightful and very accomodating
- Reimann (10/5): -
- Samuel (10/5): Lovely place, carefully though out and very good value for what you pay - So much attention to detail, cosy, comfortable, private and quiet
- Anna-Marie (9/5): Lovey get away - Lovely and quiet, gardens with flora and fauna.Host stock everything you could need and give you privacy.
- Chris (10/5): A good weekend - Plan to stay again
- Paul (10/5): The simplest pleasures are sometimes the most extraordinary - Being able to walk through the french doors from the lounge to the private garden and realx amongst the huge array of native trees and bushes. This created a sancuary for birds and kanagroos which added to the expereince. A wonderful view through the garden to the ocean. "Feeling the swerenity". The little personal touches throughout the accomadation to ensure we felt "special". The King size bed. The fact it was detached. The thoughtfulness and kindness of the hosts. Did I mention the garden? A labour of love. The continental breakfast. Leaving
- Debbie (9/5): Lovely scenic restful short break. - Rural location, peaceful and beautiful views with lots of wildlife. Wish there had been a sofa rather than two armchairs. Disliked the scrunchy rustle of the pillow protectors.
- Perlin (9/5): Lovely couples retreat - Clean comfortable cottage. Wonderful birdlife. A good spot to relax and unwind from everyday stresses.
- Richards (10/5): - Gorgeous property, quiet, lovely touches and finishes, hosts were very accommodating. In a quiet area with a tranquil view over the gardens to the ocean. Few minute drive to the local town and ocean, close to McLaren vale. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would stay again!
- Kez (10/5): Perfection - Perfect location, very comfortable bed, awesome shower, tasteful furniture and furnishings, rural setting with ocean views, lovely hosts, absolutely everything you could possibly want, highly recommend Nothing, it was perfection!
- Athul (9/5): Superb - The classy living room was a relaxing spot to sip tea and read a book.
- Gorata (8/5): Ridiculously peaceful - We went there to relax and had our own supplies however finding out that there is breakfast provided was an added bonus. A nice comfortable couch would be awesome to curl on.
- Judith (7/5): Beautiful outlook, wonderful farm atmosphere, friendly hosts, - Very generous. Would have liked juice also. A bit more cutlery and cooking dishes. Somewhere to heat a saucepan or an electric frypan. Not suitable for longer stay.
- Eileen (9/5): Cosy cottage with beautiful scenic sea views - Beautiful spot in the world. Peaceful location with stunning views of the sea and private little cottage. All the little comforts of home with lovely touches. Hosts were lovely people.
- Frederick (10/5): Wonderful property, idyllic setting, beautifully presented, highly recommended - We had a delightful stay in Yankalilla/Normanville, and a good part of that was thanks to Watson Park. It’s an unusual place, part of a 5 acre property, with a lovely rural feel and a view over the sea in the distance. Everything was well apportioned and comfortable. The kitchenette was perfectly stacked, the armchairs very comfortable, the bed lovely, the bathroom quirky but excellent. The host welcomed us and helped us settle in. The area is super for exploring the coast, walking in the bush, cuisine - we highly recommend Aquablue on Normanville foreshore. Check out the Information centre between the two towns for more recommendations. The only possible drawback is that the property is up a hill on gravel roads, enough kms from the two towns to make walking not a viable option.
- Dennis (9/5): Thanks for a lovely breakfast and quiet stay! - Very comfortable , quiet and close to an amazing beach and lovely town
- Gerhard (10/5): Watson Park BnB - loved the location and the lack of crowds. The unit was well presented and had little items like the matching crockery and furnishings. Appreciated the fruit and wine. There were no power points in the bedroom area.
- Nigel (10/5): Peaceful and comfortable - Very tasteful and comfortable place in the cool hills with gorgeous views and plenty of wildlife. Friendly and helpful hosts but not intrusive.
- Arshveer (8/5): Very good -
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful accomodation with phenomenal hospitality and stunning location/ scenery. .
- Hannah (9/5): Wonderful location, hosts and room - The location, host couple and overall place was truly wonderful. Sitting on the nearby bench with the sunset over the ocean and hill with the resident roos was so beautiful and absolutely worth the money. And the hosts themselves were truly lovely. They even had little Christmas bonbons for us on arrival!
- Brendan (9/5): Best place to stay in Normanville! - Beautiful location 2 Km outside Normanville on the hills with Ocean views. Quite and only one BB cottage on the property. The owners, Jan and Richard were very friendly and made sure any requests we had were met. We stayed 13 nights and used it as a base to play golf and tour the Fleurieu Penninsula, including Kangarooo Island Nothing to dislike!
- O'leary (9/5): Superb - Wonderful accommodation, beautiful setting and was very relaxing. Richard and Jan were wonderful hosts, and the BnB is very well setup. Will definately be staying there again. Nothing
- Le (10/5): Great stay, service & accomodation. - Jan & Richard is very sweet and welcoming.
- Skye (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mason (10/5): Great value stay down South - Lovely spot, warm welcome, good produce. Great for exploring Southern Fleurieu Nothing to dislike
- Aldcroft (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pauline (9/5): Superb -
- Georgina (10/5): Beautiful with views of the ocean - The pictures on Booking.com really don’t do the property justice. It’s a really cute little place furnished beautifully and just the right size for one to 2 people. The owners have decorated it beautifully. When you first walk in to the property, there’s a king bed and a TV in the bedroom with side tables adjacent to this room is a dressing area and place for your bags. Walk-through into a bigger room there’s a kitchen to your left and lounge area to your right and a table already for you to have dinner with plates cuddling and glasses set out for you. There’s plenty of reading on the bookshelf and a TV overhead.
If you arrive early enough, you can open the French doors near the kitchen and sit out side with the view of the ocean and a sunset.
In the morning, walk around the beautiful garden and see the kangaroos nesting underneath the trees .
The place is so close to little towns around the area and it’s such a beautiful spot . I’m a coffee lover so the addition of a coffee machine would be awesome
- Katrina (10/5): Relaxing weekend getaway for us & our dog. - We have stayed at Watson Park 5 times over the past 2.5 years. It’s the perfect coastal spot for a break from ‘city working and living’.
The gardens are immaculate, the facilities more than adequate and Jan & Richard are always welcoming & accomodating.
We love that we can travel & relax with our mini schnauzer too, and the town of Normanville (& beach) is very dog friendly. BB Bear 🐶 loves our trips down south. Nothing! We wouldn’t have returned to stay, as many times as we have, if we had any dislikes 😃
- Natalia (10/5): Relaxing place to connect with nature. - The property was clean. Bed was comfy. The view was amazing.
- Judith (9/5): Loved it. - Breakfast supplies generous. Views were amazing. Outdoor seating areas fantastic and gardens very welcoming. A wonderful rural setting, peaceful and invigorating. Door needed on toilet. Hairdryer would have been appreciated. Towels could have been softer & fluffier.
- Sharon (10/5): We had a very relaxing time, our hosts were very accomodating and it is a great couples place to stay - We brought our own breakfast however there were adequate continental breakfast supplies if required. The location was great with bush and country views and the seas in the distance. The accomodation inside was great and very clean. The location was very quiet and the setting was perfect. Everything was as described and the price was relevant to what we experienced. We did not feel there could be any improvements on what we experienced
- Micaela (10/5): A very pleasant stay in a warm and friendly place with pretty surroundings. - Lovely, warm and friendly place with pretty surroundings.
- Meryn (8/5): Very good - Nice large rooms and a big comfy bed. Kangaroos in the garden and an amazing view. You need a car to get around (which was fine for us). Small complaint would be the quality of the towels- the sheets were excellent.
- Stephen (10/5): Comfortable sylish home Stunning views - Its a very honest property but with lots of style both in the property and the grounds Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent quiet location, very well laid out rooms and amenities Nothing. Everything was just great
- Lynch (10/5): The Hosts are So Lovely and accommadating, exceeded our expectations, - the fridge was full of goodies for breakfast and the days we stayed.
The view was just gorgeous, so peaceful and quiet the hot water could have been a bit hotter, but the system was getting looked at after the long weekend.
- Anonymous19701964 (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (10/5): A relaxing, comfy and peaceful weekend away, we loved it and can't wait to return. - It was a lovely location, the accommodation was very comfortable and clean with modern facilities and our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty with very thoughtful extras like dip, savoury biscuits, wine, chocolates and biscuits. We also loved the thoughtful touches like the lavender, fruit in the bowl, books, extra towels etc. The small shampoo, conditioner and body wash samples had all been used by other guests, it was ok though as we had brought our own. We would have preferred individual jam/spread portions rather than opened pre-used jam jars, just our own idiosyncrasy, not a complaint. Again we brought our own, so all ok :)
- Allan (10/5): Relaxing in a beautiful environment. - Great location in natural bushland but still within easy distance of the local towns and beach. Friendly hosts who respect privacy. Great decor, facilities and garden. The view is wonderful.
- Robin (8/5): Very good - The special little touches were fantastic. Vert comfortable bed and apartment. As it is dog friendly, a small fenced area outside the patio doors on the lawned area would be good.
- Nicholas (10/5): relaxing - taken exceptional care of nothing
- Graeme (10/5): Exceptional - The veiw, the fact it was 5 mins from town so no noise, peace quiet watching nature do its thing
- Suzanne (10/5): Awesome 😎 - Great cottage with lots of treats. Thankyou so much 😊
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful house, amazing views close to the two main towns. I highly recommend Watson Park -
- Jt (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and clean, beautifully presented, well provisioned, quiet and surrounded peacefully by a lovely garden.
- Gael (9/5): I stayed for 4 nights and was very comfortable. The hosts are very good people. Thsnk you. - The accommodation is well built and in a beautiful location. The views from the garden are wonderful. The rooms were clean. I had everything I needed. There were no adverse features.
- John (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great - very quite and great surrounds. Really lovely layout and location, yet have to agree with other reviewers, bed was really too small length ways, and I really did not sleep well at all. A comfy bed is vitally important.
- Deb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): peaceful, comfortable and graceful - it was comfortable, peaceful and elegant loved it so much, but could have done with real coffee instead of instant. small point though, in the scheme of things
- Samhita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosemary (9/5): Superb -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (5/5): Passable -
- Gabriella (9/5): A gorgeous little spot for a short stay. Great value and a lovely view from the property. - Gorgeous spot. Just sitting outside in the garden. Richard and Jan had thought of lots of nice little touches and provided us with some delicious snacks. The kitchenette was also better than expected to be able to cook if you wanted to. The bed was ok but not the comfiest, if you’re tall, its definitely a bit short. No couch in the lounge area meant we didn’t watch TV in that space and the bedroom TV was a little small. Still really enjoyed ourselves and would return!
