Guest Reviews
- Bec Cawood (10/5): Cosy & very friendly & comfortable stay. - Such friendly & welcoming service. Sadly it wasn't winter & couldn't use the fireplace , understandbly. BUT I hope to revisit when its colder & also when the cellar door is open again!

- Trevor (10/5): - Lovely home away from home. Close to everything but still secluded. Wonderful hosts. We had to leave on Sunday.
- Guest (5/5): - Lovely view
Hosts were very friendly No aircon so windows had to be opened and we were woken and kept awake from 2am by roosters crowing at the property
- Quentin (7/5): -
- Guest (10/5): Quiet and serene -
- Tracey (8/5): Really liked out stay. - Lovely friendly staff. Beautiful scenery. The rooms had most facilities found elsewhere. Winter would be amazing to stay there with the fireplace. Absolutely stunning inside. No fans or aircon and no TV. The ‘no TV’ was good in a way as it made us as a family play board games.
- Joseph (9/5): -
- Jutta (10/5): An absolute gem. - Cellar door experience was exceptional, with delicious wines and wonderful stories to compliment the wine.
We were warmly greeted by the host and a roaring fire in the lounge room. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and cosy. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.. Couldn't fault the location, accommodation or people.
- Rory (9/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - Loved it! The only downside was no breakfast or coffee machine available on site, but easy enough to head in to town. Otherwise excellent! Lovely people!

- Anonymous (10/5): We had a fabulous weekend at Big Fellas and will definitely be staying again - Big Fellas is a beautiful property and Madeleine and her family there are very helpful and very friendly. The fire was lit every day and we felt very welcomed. The only slight negative is the location as it’s a bit far out of town and there are no cooking facilities. However Madeleine was happy for us to use her own barbecue if we wanted to.
- Angela (9/5): Superb - The owner was so welcoming and lovely, felt like home! We will be back!

It felt like home for a couple of nights as we stoked the fire and Madeleine our host was so friendly and delightful, we loved chatting to her and can't wait for the cellar door to open!
- Megan (10/5): Home away from homee - Madeline was a wonderful hostess. It felt like we were visiting friendly family. Breaky was spot on every day, the fireplace was always roaring, and there were heaters and electric blankets in our room which was brilliant when the temperature dropped below 3 degrees. It was homely and comfortable, and we would definitely stay again. Nothing not to like! There were no TVs however it was a lovely opportunity for us to disconnect and unwind. Plenty of books, board games and conversation to be had instead.
- Abbie (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay at Big Fella! Loved the host Madeleine, her dogs and the welcoming environment that she has created. It’s also a fab location to get to the wineries and other things to do in the area.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shelley (10/5): Delightful, magical view and special treatment from the host - The food was lovely, each morning there was something different, cooked to order and made to feel very special. Large range of breads, local preserves etc We were super happy that there was no TV as it made us relax and play board games in front of the open fire, some people might have withdrawal symptoms

- Danielle (10/5): Warm and welcoming - I had a lovely stay at Big Fellas. Elizabeth was lovely and welcoming, there's a warm fireplace and communal lounge when you walk in, and the bedroom was heated, clean and comfy. I really enjoyed being out of town as it was so quiet and you could see all the stars. There was a surplus of lemons on their tree and we were invited to take them home with us. Thanks very much - I'll be back!
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (10/5): Madderlin made it such a joy ,great host ,beautiful - Breakfast was very good, the country setting excellent, no traffic noise, just quite & tranquil. The water pump noise
- Robert (10/5): The perfect winter weekend Bed & Breakfast getaway central to everything on the Granite Belt! - Perfect location! within close proximity to a multiude of Wineries, Breweries, Cheese factories, Girraween national park, and everything else food-related on the granite belt! The hosts were warm and welcoming and made our stay relaxing and very enjoyable. Recommend booking with breakfast included - something different every morning with a selection of local goodies. The large and spacious dining room was a lovely setting for breakfast, overlooking Stanthorpe and the valley below. Amenities were great - everything was clean, the room smelled great and the bed was very comfortable. Purchased a nice bottle of shiraz from the cellar door too.
- Vagabonder (10/5): Exceptional - Madeleine was a wonderful host, very welcoming and attentive, and nothing was too much trouble whenever I made any (minor) requests.
This was the nicest, most comfortable bed and breakfast I have had the good fortune to experience and enjoy.
- Hiu (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed here for a night with friends during the school holiday and we all loved the experience! The rooms were clean and so beautifully decorated that the photos do not do its justice. Madeleine was an exceptional host - we got into a car accident on the way there and she offered to patch up our vehicle for us. She kept the fireplace going for us throughout the night and her home-cooked breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area :)
- Colleen (9/5): Fantastic country stay - We loved that when we arrived we were greeted by 3 lovely friendly dogs best feeling ever. Elizabeth was waiting for us geeted us and showed us around. Lovely friendly welcome. Accommodation was fantastic truly enjoyed our stay N/A
- Luciana (10/5): Exceptional - The bed and friendly people
- Maureen (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sheilds/ (9/5): Would definitely stay again - Beautifully maintained property inside and out, stunning outlook, superb hospitality, warm fireplace in the communal lounge/dining, heating in the bedroom ample, very comfortable bed, lovely bedding, towels and little touches, breakfast plentifully and delicious. Room-Shiraz very spacious. I would have preferred my own pillow, but I accidentally left home without it.
The 3 available b&b rooms all share a beautifully setup common area, which doesn't offer much privacy or quite if that is your intention of the getaway.
( nb. One of the bedrooms does has its own little lounge area to escape ).
In saying this, we met the 4 other guests + bub who were all very lovely, and each night we got together and enjoyed a few board games and the local wine.

- Divinia (10/5): Loved our stay here, the hosts were lovely and accommodating. Great area, wonderful place to stay. - Loved the location, the character of the house, the customer service and the dogs.
- Kenneth (9/5): An enjoyable Stanthorpe break with a nice B&B accommodation to boot. Would definitely be back. - We like it that breakfast was included and were cooked fresh and were different on the 2 nights we stayed. Host, Elizabeth, was very friendly and would go out of the way to make our stay enjoyable. The location was very quiet and all you could hear was the wind blowing. The room walls were a bit thin and you could hear the other guests talking in the common lounge. Easily resolved if everyone sticks to a 10pm lights out courtesy rule.
- Jodie (7/5): Good - The host was chatty and friendly.Served a nice breakfast each morning. Just a bit off the beaten track.....but not too bad..... thought there was cellar door experience but may have read it wrong.
- Anna (7/5): Good - Great people. Beautiful spot. Good breakfast. Perfectly comfortable, warm and had everything we wanted. Was so nice sitting by the fireplace of an evening enjoying a wine Although the rooms are in keeping with the theme, they are a little dated and could do with a freshen up. .
- Amy (9/5): Superb - Super welcoming host. Very clean and comfy stay. Beautiful house and environment. Fantastic breakfast 😋 Google map pointed the wrong route, so must follow host's suggestion.
- Saori (10/5): Exceptional - Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the lovely family. They were extremely friendly, the room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was so delicious. I would highly recommend, and certainly come back here again.
