The host was excellent and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend for your next getaway. Great value and walking distance to town. - Joanne (2/5): Extremely disappointed - Good location, comfortable bed, good shower. We stayed at The Odd Gecko (April 10–11) and were very disappointed. There was no communication before arrival—no check-in details and no response to emails. Breakfast is listed as a highlight, but we were told it’s no longer offered, and there’s no access to shared guest areas as shown in the listing. On arrival, no one was there to greet us. We were told by phone to choose a room ourselves. The weather was extremely hot, and although there is ducted air conditioning, it wasn’t turned on and is controlled from the main house. We had a wedding to attend and were assured someone would be there to assist and turn on the air con. No one showed up, messages went unanswered, and we had to get ready in extreme heat, which was very stressful. After raising these concerns via booking.com, the hosts refused to resolve the dispute. Overall, poor communication, misleading listing details, and lack of hosting made this a very frustrating stay. I would not recommend.

Welcome chocolates in fridge and little extras were lovey. enjoyed a cuppa before heading off the next morning Only thing to note is it isn't airconditioned but ceiling fans. It was a hot day, and evening was fine to sleep

No drinking water, had to get water out of bathroom sink. Nobody around to ask any questions. Better facilities at a motel and disappointing for the price point.

Privacy was fabulous. The Outdoor area was plenty and also had a good design to it I overheard that there wasn't any breakfast in bed as they don't do it anymore, or that time, which was sad. The fan was dusty The Hand towel LOOKS dirty The Toilet was dirty when we went in to use it No kitchen to cook in, but it advertises that there was a kitchen. When we booked, they changed it. - Shanne (8/5): Thank you Suzanne and Anita. We loved staying at the Odd Gecko. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Just a - The perfect getaway to visit family in the area. Lovely, leafy and private at the end of a cul de sac but easy walking distance into Canungra. Nice pool to enjoy on a hot day - with recliners. We had a lovely room at the end of the verandah where you could enjoy breakfast, meals or drinks. A super comfy queen bed. Very friendly hosts and relaxed environment with an inclusive light breakfast which we enjoyed daily in a shared dining area. We enjoyed everything.

- Jennifer (9/5): Had a wonderful restful couple of days in this beautiful property on the edge of the rainforest. - The cold Breakfast provided was more than adequate with lots of variety including fresh fruit. Nothing was too much trouble for Suzanne and Anita. They were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The signage into the property at night at the top of the steep street is inadequate and under-lit after sunset, making it confusing which road to take. Reflective arrows and better lighting would be an improvement.

I was unwell one day and stayed in. The room became really cold at midday and I found it hard to rug up enough to stay warm (but I may have been cold because of my cold).

- Craig (9/5): Our stay was great overall, hidden gem, we will be back. - Unfortunately, we didn't stay for continental breakfast, we opted for a hot breakfast at a local cafe. I'm sure the breakfast was fine but hot breakfast would be better. Everything was great, very comfortable and a lot of thought has obviously gone into the experience. Not a negative but the filter in the bathroom needed cleaning, minor and not an issue as the room was very clean and tidy.
