Guest Reviews
- Gabriela (9/5): -
- Dmitry (10/5): A nice place for a short stay for a couple or single person. Close to everything. - A nice and quiet place, close to Middleton beach, complimentary breakfast. House is very well taken care of.
- Miller (5/5): it was ok - breakfast good. BUT could not get tea or coffee before 7.30am or after 6pm The owner was very cold when we approached upon checking in.
- Ruthie (7/5): -
- Marilyn (9/5): Met all our needs & very close to what was advertised - Breakfast was self serve with excellent selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt. Variety of breads with spreads. Pancakes in fridge if desired. Canned spaghetti & beans if you wanted. Every tea you could think of. Good coffee. A few hassles on arrival but nothing major. We sat outside & read our books for 1/2 an hour.
- James (10/5): Very nice accomodation -
- Andrew (8/5): Good location in a great part of WA - We were unavoidably delayed and did advise the owner. It could help future travellers and the owner if a key safe were used when necessary. We ended up quite stressed being late and the owner was too.
- kerry (10/5): - How convient it was for us.
Deb accommodated us so incredibly.
We had a night mare camping experience and her place was a safe haven
We even got a free upgrade.
Breakfast which was a lovely surprise
Thanks Deb Nothing really we didn't enjoy.
- Miranda (8/5): - Heerlijke kamer in een rustige buurt van Albany.
Loopafstand van zee en een paar leuke restaurants.
- Adelina (9/5): - Location, clean facilities
- Tarun (1/5): -
- Tina (6/5): -
- Adelina (9/5): - The cleanliness of the place and the location.
- teng (7/5): - Hardware is very good ! Nice and clean . Hardware is No.1,but sofeware is bad. When I arrived, I had to find the key to the room by ourselves.
- Sharon (8/5): Deb was very friendly and chatty. She had a lovely garden and showed an interest in what we had done - Eating breakfast out on the balcony was really nice and a great start to the day. Room was lovely and clean and vacuumed every day. it was a nice and quiet place to stay.
- Greg (8/5): Very good value for money overall and enjoyed the 2 day stay - Bed particularly comfortable, bathroom and toilet facilities very good, breakfast was basic continental but adequate. Place was nice and quiet. Door was locked when I arrived, contrary to what was stated on check in info and other guest allowed me to enter though his room.
- Jim (9/5): If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay, with a clean environment and a respectful - The house is kept spotless, and the bedrooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast items such as cereals, yogurts, juices, and similar things are provided, which was a nice touch. The house is kept spotless, and the bedrooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast items such as cereals, yoghurts, juices, and similar things are provided, which was a nice touch. It’s important to understand that you are staying in her home, where she shares her space with guests, so respecting her house rules is appropriate for all involved. She does not allow parties or extra guests, and quiet hours after 9pm are expected so that everyone can rest peacefully.
- Chris (10/5): - Location was great and Debbie was most welcoming.
- Carmela and John (6/5): Facilities were ok, the owner was a bit paranoid about access to kitchen. - Rooms ok No access to the kitchen after 6:30 pm
- Ursula (10/5): - Lovely host, great location
- Chloe (10/5): -
- Rebecca (6/5): - Clean and tidy Waking guests up banging around with bin etc outside and then knocking on the door at 8am after a big night is poor form. If you’re not sure if someone is still there just leave it until the 10am checkout time
- Riezar Joy (8/5): Amazing place to be. - Near Middleton Beach Nothing
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Juan (9/5): - Location
- Morgan (9/5): - View.
Debby was very friendly.
Quality of fixtures and fittings, bedding, towels, tissues etc no one arround on arrival so didn't know where to go.
- John (9/5): - Cleanliness
- Mark (6/5): We would neither return nor recommend as it presently stands. - Good Facilities and very clean.
Lots of extra touches. Chocolates and nice towels.
Good variety for continental breakfast Initially we were made to feel unwelcome and very uncomfortable to the point where we considered leaving.
A person in pyjamas arrived and barked at us. She did not introduce herself and explain the rules of the kitchen.
Numerous rules, which should have been explained before booking, were confining and limiting.
No access to kettle between 6pm and 7.30am was restrictive and very inconvenient (especially for my fibromyalgia which requires a hot water bottle at night). Suggest a kettle in the laundry would help.
- MARK (9/5): it was clean and comfortable - every thing was provided for our breakfast, and plenty of dietary choices.
- Bev (9/5): Very enjoyable - Fantastic location. Lots of extra comforts provided.
- Godage (8/5): Overall, a wonderful and welcoming stay that I would happily recommend. - I stayed at C'est La Vie for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Although I was only in during the evenings, I always had a very comfortable sleep thanks to the quiet neighbourhood and the cozy room. The sheets and towels were spotless and refreshed daily, and breakfast along with drinking water was provided.
The bathroom was very clean and tidy, and there were thoughtful touches throughout - like having the heater on when it was chilly - which made the place feel very homely. There was also plenty of helpful information available about the city and local attractions if needed.
Although not a big issue, a clock in the room would have been a useful addition. I also wasn’t sure about parking, as I thought leaving my car in front of the garage might block the owners’ vehicle, so I parked further away. A simple sign to confirm that parking there is fine would be helpful, as it seems I wouldn’t have been obstructing anyone.
- Helen (8/5): - Great location to beach and town and fabulous views! Host was very friendly and informative. Nice touch leaving sweeties in our room and bottles of water. It was a bit unclear what we could eat versus host's private use and a bot awkward where we crossed over rooms.Breakfast was very basic and there wasn't fresh fruit to go on cereal.
- Yiannakis (5/5): -
- Danny (8/5): - Facilities and comfort
- Jason (10/5): luxurious! - The stay was amazing, clean, luxurious, great facilities and all. Even the towels and linen were super plush. Great host, kind and considerate, it was a good stay, and would recommend it for sure. It rained, could have been more sunny weather. The stay was great!
- Denise (7/5): Good - nice and quiet 6pm curfew and distance from town centre
- Gary (3/5): Disappointed - Breakfast get your own, couldn't get in kitchen till after 730 ,then had to do own dishes Bed against wall person on one side had to get over other to get out, didn't relize we had to share bathroom
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb - It’s in a good location and super duper clean!
The bed was really comfy and we loved having a couple drinks on our patio before heading out for the evening.
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant - Lights did not work one evening. The shared bathroom door with my room and as a result you could clearly hear other guests using the bathroom.
- Lesca (10/5): Debbie , the host is very friendly and nice to talk to . Thank you for your amazing hospitality - excellent, immaculate None
- Dan (7/5): Good value for money, would suit older travelers - Clean and good location Felt we had to be quiet and switch lights off like staying with strict parents.
Bed was very soft almost uncomfortably soft
- Lorrainemcc (9/5): Superb - The room was very comfortable , clean, and had dressing gowns and fresh towels every day . Breakfast had a large variety of food and drinks for guests to help themselves to. The fridge in the guest lounge was great for cold drinks.
We could access the hosts kitchen until 6pm however after that, we had no access to hot drinks / water, which could be frustrating if you liked a warm drink in the evening , but understandable as it was the hosts private space. Perhaps a small travel kettle in the room or something?
Shared bathroom which was always clean and well stocked however as the king room has a door ( permanently locked ) connecting to it, you hear every noise, unfortunate if another guest is up and showering at 6.30am .
The breakfast area has wonderful views over Middleton and a good fish and chip shop nearby
- Ana (8/5): Very good -
- Hållén (8/5): Should have called you guys in the first place. - Great suites. Steve very helpful. -
- Kay (5/5): Passable - How close to amenities Restricted access to kitchen , couldn't get a cup of coffee til after 7.30am
- Ethan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krister (8/5): Very good - Most comfortable but watch out, the food you brought and stored in the guest fridge is not accessable at the evening tea as the kitchen area closed from 6 pm. Apart from that, highly recomendable.
- Sandra (7/5): Good - Very clean, the bath tub was a nice bonus.
- Don (9/5): Superb - Many breakfast options supplied, clean rooms, comfortable beds
- Raghu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gail (9/5): Superb - Deb was a great host who went out of her way to ensure a comfortable stay.
Close to Middleton beach and walking tract.
- Jennifer (9/5): Convenient and restful. - Very clean and quiet, with a pretty garden and a lovely view from the balcony. Wide choice of cereal, bread, yoghurt and breads for breakfast, along with many choices of different teas. Lovely fluffy towels, soft sheets and a variety of pillows. Plenty of information about local places and activities.
- Hewson (4/5): Disappointing -
- Vicky (10/5): We enjoyed the whole experience. We were well looked after. - Breakfast was more than enough-with lots of varieties and choices We are easy to please type of people. The bed was very soft. We have a firmer bed but… it was actually fine to sleep on surprisingly. Loved the feel of crisp clean sheets. Fresh towels each day was amazing. The host was very generous with everything.
- Duphrin (5/5): Passable - Very clean Not friendly owner
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cool (1/5): Best to book hotel than air b n b - The place was kept nice. The bathroom and toilet were shared, difficult to negotiate for a late arrival e.g. 7:30 pm, would prefer booking hotel room next time rather than air b n b.
- Amandeep (1/5): No recommendations, better pay extra so you can have satisfaction in different place. - Real bad experience, worst experience ever Real bad customer service, no professionalism, Real rude behaviour. Owner being racist for harsh.
- Kieran (8/5): Comfortable, homely. host Deb was very friendly and enjoyed a chat - Very nice to have such a wide range of breakfast options and the location was ideal for my trek around town
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rick (5/5): Passable -
- Marie (7/5): Served it’s purpose - Location Severe lack of communication. Contacted business several times but didn’t receive any replies.
- Kelly (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (9/5): Very clean and comfortable, good value for money - Very clean and neat, very kind and attentive owner, felt like being a guest in a family home Bed against wall so one member of couple had to climb over the other when going to bathroom in the night. Also shared bathroom and toilet not ideal.
- Christine (10/5): Pleasant and Quiet - Position L
- Carlin (8/5): Very good -
- Jackie (5/5): Passable - Location Not enough lighting in lounge area. Not enough seats for our group to comfortably watch tv or play games (no table/coffee table).
Queen bedroom a little small.
- Gorski (8/5): Very good - Spot, such a gorgeous place of Albany Rooms are a bit too small
- Kerr (6/5): Pleasant - Clean, comfortable accommodation with nice outlook. Not having access to kitchen area after 6.00pm. Unable to eat an evening meal or have access to tea/coffee making facilities.
- Mark (9/5): Mark - Excellent facilities Kitchen hours a bit restrictive
Slight odour in room which meant opening windows to allow circulation
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Brenda (8/5): on the whole we had a great stay - Lots of choice for breakfast
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Holmes (7/5): For the price it was very good and worked well, but very pleased that the other room was empty. - Good- though I didn't have it but my wife did. I would have preferred a completely separate dining area rather than sharing it with the host- but understand that this requires major renovations and some people like that style. My wife was cool with it, especially as there were not other people in the other guest room.
Also we thought that there was too much furniture and personal items in our room for the size. A standard double bed and less furniture would have been better. It worked as we were able to spend time by ourselves in the lounge room by ourselves as the other room was unoccupied. But I would have found it very awkward if there were other guests there.
- Nguyet (9/5): Relaxing, enjoyable. - Quiet location, relaxing. Bed is good, comfortable . Good view from balcony where you sitting outside for breakfast. Good chat to Host , very informative. Nothing
- Graham (10/5): The home was close to all amenities. Deb made us feel very much at home. Would definitely recommed - Breakfast was all set up to help ourselves.
Very good. Kitchen was lovely and clean. There was nothing we didn't like about our accommodation.
- Antonella (9/5): Amazing - The accommodation is very nice and comfortable. The sea view for breakfast is incredible. The breakfast is good and self-service. The king room is PERFECT. The bed is incredibly comfortable, with multiple blankets for winter, warm robes, and socks to keep you warm. She is super friendly, respectful, and attentive. The whole house was in perfect condition, clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. You cannot use the kitchen and dining room after 6:30 PM, so if you are a young couple like us who dines after 10:00 PM, it will be a bit inconvenient.
- Euneze (6/5): Read your negative reviews before booking. There is a reason why people leave reviews. - The house was very clean. You have to take your shoes off at the front door before walking through the whole house to your queen room at the end of the house. Lack of privacy. You can't use the kitchen without the host watching your every move. You can't use the kitchen for cooking or after 6h30. There are 4 pages of rules and instructions.
- Pelham (8/5): Very good -
- Victoria (10/5): Very convenient for a quick dash to Albany. - Very close to my family, great parking spot at the house. Bed was great with lovely crisp, white sheets. Bathroom facilities were immaculate.
- Norman (5/5): Great location, room, facilities, but owners attitudes and negativity spoiled our time at her B&B. - Simple continental breakfast as expected, although somewhat confusing with some cereals on far side of dining room, and other cereals and toaster in owners pantry. Would be better if all guests breakfast components in one place and kept apart from private pantry, this would provide better clarity on what was available for guests use. Great selection of exotic teas and coffees, but a jug and basic tea would be good in the side lounge so guests are not needing to be in owners space out of breakfast times. While we accept that we are in the owners house and using her space we sometimes felt a bit uncomfortable and intrusive. We found the breakfast times awkward in the owners company . I’m sure she was doing her best to be friendly and welcoming but we didn’t appreciate or enjoy her one sided conversation and attitudes to almost everything which was very negative and critical while we were trying to enjoy our breakfast and she was hard to get away from. For this reason we would not return.
- J (8/5): Good value and location. - Nice home very clean Did not like the queen bed being placed against the wall, too hard to get in and out. Also mattress way too soft, caused discomfort.
- Mark (8/5): Very happy with our stay, with good value for money,& friendly atmosphere. - Fine. Spotlessly clean. Fresh towels each day. The mattress was a bit too soft for our aging backs! And the person next to the wall had difficulty getting out of bed during the night. However the size of the room makes it hard to overcome this.
- Mohammadali (10/5): A pleasant idea that is evident in how you feel life passing in solace, C'est La Vie. - C'est La Vie radiates the true sense of Albany's scenic ecology. It's a comfy place, well-organised, reasonably priced, and well-maintained. I enjoyed my time there, and I found it a tourist spot in itself!
- David (8/5): A very pleasant stay - thanks Debbie. - Continental breakfast provided as per description. Very clean home, excellent shower/bath facilities.
Good on site parking and close to beach.
- Eleanor (9/5): A lovely, relaxed stay - Debbie’s place is lovely! Gorgeous views, quiet spot and lots of information about where is good to go nearby! Debbie is a wonderful host and the place has everything you need.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable. Good wi-fi. On-site parking. Smoke alarm faulted and beeped every 45 seconds during first night.
- Ruud (8/5): Very good -
- Chantelle (1/5): Welcome to the hotel california. - Nothing to like. Didn't stay one night and the host freaked me out talking about her childhood trauma. No refund, avoid this place! Was not as described in the ad listing that's for sure! as above, people like her shouldn't be allowed to run a bed and breakfast. She would be better suited running a brothel.
- Brian (8/5): Very good - Lots of thoughtful additions L
- Don&thanh (8/5): Very good -
- Sam (8/5): Thank you for sharing your space with me, will be back - For a little extra, the deluxe room was the way to go, your own entry and TV in the room
There was lot of information to take in, but it was easy enough to scope the place with it so you know where is what and what to do.
Loved the peaceful view at the back, the garden and birds around the house.
Everything was organised for you on the time. Pity I was on my own this time, next time will take my wife with me.
Not sure if the owner was living at the house at the time because it was really quite!
Close to everything, Easy peasy lemon squeezy Nothing
- Dominica (10/5): Exceptional -
