Guest Reviews
- Colleen (8/5): Very good - setting breakfast was a bit bland
- Chris (8/5): Period features in a lovely village. Comfy good value stay. - Great location right in town. Very cute period style large rooms- very small bathroom. All the linen was spotless and a small shared lounge with reading material. Coffee pod coffee in the kitchen with all utensils. Heating was great. Only some minor hiccups. You can feel electric blanket wires - needs a topper on top of that. Sink was not clean. Breakfast very simple continental high sugar. No sign of a human being but I guess that’s the way now.
- Anonymous (10/5): On a weekend - a week’s worth of fun, true relaxation a walk away from great shops, food and fun. - Exceeded our expectations- most perfect location - and even crepes and coffee right outside the front door and opposite one of the best bars I’ve been to - the Sweet Water Saloon. The complimentary snacks, breakfast range, drinks, coffee was excellent and unexpected. Lovely atmosphere and fabulous views. We’ll be back!! 0 😊

- Anja (9/5): Relaxing weekend - Lovely old building. The room was just the right size for two people. I really enjoyed the electric blanket, it was lovely and warm. We both slept well. Breakfast was well stocked and fresh. Whilst it was a nice old building, it wouldn’t hurt to upgrade the rooms a little bit.

- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional -

Stay at Tilba is a super cute heritage listed building which has been tastefully decorated and provides very comfortable accommodation. Thoroughly recommend.

- Stefano (9/5): Great little place in a very pretty town. - John was fantastic, very helpful with anything we needed, plus as a pseudo tourist guide with info on where to eat and places to visit. Very happy. The room didn't have air-conditioning, so it was a bit hot, but we managed with the room fan.

- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jirong (1/5): Awful, disgusting bugs on the bed. - There are big bugs on the bed. So disgusting. The cleaning service of this hotel is incredibly bad. Don't come.
- Dongli (8/5): Very good - Historical authentic looking, very clean and quiet, close to all stores. A bit annoyed by the mosquito in my room at night…
- Alan (8/5): Very good - The people and views were nice Room too small
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely spot. Comfortable and good location, nice extras provided, especially tilba cheese and bickies. Only thing that might have been nice is a bit more milk as there was coffee and a milk.frother, but not enough milk to froth, really, and leave milk left for other things. But this is minor. Was really nice.
- Peter (7/5): Good - Atmosphere, charm of the village, excellent breakfast, quite. Size of the bathroom. Way too small
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Wei (7/5): Good -
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fatma (10/5): Great accommodation in central location - Location was excellent
- Michael (8/5): Quirky historic property. Great location in this lovely heritage village. -
- Garry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (6/5): Probably wouldn’t stay here again. - Loved the old building although a bit tired looking these days, have stayed here a few years back and it seems a bit neglected. The bed and furniture is now more modern, not really in keeping with the age of the property. Parking is now on the street and as unable to park outside because of the post office we had to move our car three times. The en suite was terrible, couldn’t swing a cat in it, so tiny, luckily we are not big people so there was a couple of inches to spare before our knees hit the sliding door when sitting on the loo!
- Coreena (10/5): Exceptional - It was very cosy and comfortable
- David (7/5): Quaint accommodation that suits the location. - Good range of breakfast options and the location was excellent. The windows could have better seals.
- Maureen (8/5): A memorable place - An amazing historic house with beautiful views and within the village. It was cold on arrival.
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (10/5): Perfect for a quiet break. - Location, quietness and cleanliness.
- Clodagh (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and great room and facilities
- Meredith (8/5): Very good -
- Bronny (8/5): Very good - So close to shops and pub. Beautiful area. The breakfast was excellent Thankyou for a lovely stay. We got the b&b all to ourselves that was a bonus.
- Brian (9/5): Comfortable accommodation apart from above shortcomings, good location in town - Comfortable bed, good shared kitchen and living room Ensuite bathroom very small, minimal area around toilet & small hand basin, toilet opposite door
- Debbie (7/5): Unique special place to stay - Interesting location to stay in, in an historical building. We enjoyed the experience and glad we had a private ensuite although tiny in our room, the Postmasters room. No one to greet you and no instructions inside as to what compartments of the fridge/freezer do what, what responsibilities users had to clean breakfast dishes, as hot water tap did not work in sink and already dirty dishes in dishwasher left from a previous guest. No explanation as to where to park either. We also were not totally aware although our room was ours, that there was shared facilities as in lounge, dining and kitchen.
- Moggridge (7/5): A couples get away. ❤️ - It was on the main street, easy access, lovely room We like having the window open and the screens on the windows are old and not sitting on the window properly and it let mosquitoes in.
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional - Great room. Comfy and well appointed I didn't like having to leave
- Nigel (7/5): Good -
- Fran (9/5): Superb -
- Ros (10/5): Cosy and relaxing. - We loved out stay. Although a very cold evening it was extremely warm inside. Room was beautifully decorated and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast had something for everyone. Lots of variety.
- Silvana (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (9/5): A lovely place to stay. - The ambiance of the building and interior. Great position and very comfortable with a good continental breakfast (although there no peanut butter) Loved all the old style fittings - it gave you a bit of an idea what it was like "in the old days". Appreciated the modern appliances though. Wonderful little town to explore. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. No peanut butter.
Shower heads sprayed water everywhere.
Nothing else.
- Lorraine (8/5): Cute and cosy B&B - Convenience to everything in town , cosiest of the B&B, ease of checking in, cute sitting room, No dedicated parking but plenty of parking in street .
- Ann (8/5): Charming B&B in a great location. Good value and friendly hosts. - Location was perfect.

- Bryan (8/5): A great place to stay in a Heritage village. - Very comfortable, generous breakfast provisions. Lovely Heritage town. You need to visit The Drom hotel. No real complaints as it’s still a work in progress.
- Anja (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. The room was good value and included a continental breakfast. The host was friendly and easy to re - Lovely old building with a mix of old and new interior. Very quaint, we really liked it. Slight mix up with the booking. Booking.com confirmed a double room with en-suite bathroom but ended up in a different room with a private external bathroom.
- Karlee (7/5): Lovely and relaxing - It was beautiful and vintage. Received a lovely continental breakfast the first morning of juice, cereal, pastries and cheese, however on the second morning it was only half restocked and we didn’t get our juice and cheese
- Miriam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martinus (7/5): A pittoresk experience - The location is great, although the village is rather small and only has a few pop-up stores. The views all around are amazing. I think it is great that people are trying to keep these old towns and communities vivid! The bathroom was very small and definitely not suited to accommodate Western body standards. Also all windows were single glazing making the room very cold in the evening. However the owners provided for an electric blanket which was very cosy. One of our bed lights would not shut off in the evening which was quite uncomfortable.
- Sneha (8/5): Stay at Tilba will give you the experience of Tilba - the best town in south of NSW - The property is old-style, well maintained B&B in the small town of Tilba, and located right at the heart of the town. If you step out of it, the nearby local market and small shops give you a very homely, safe and warm feeling as the people of this town are the real treasure. We ate at the nearby pub where we also played in a small game and had some of the best times interacting with the town folk♥️
- Nicci (10/5): Exceptional - Loved it. It was quaint and comfortable. No a big thing as I could get it elsewhere but... instructions for the coffee machine would definitely help someone that has never used one.
- Janet (10/5): We had the most wonderful stay. - We loved the historical story of the property told by owner who was most accommodating.
Perfect position with the most wonderful views. Nothing at all
- Lynne (9/5): Clean, comfortable and historic! - Very clean and comfortable. Historic building. Beautiful setting and village. Bathroom very small but functional.
- Bates (6/5): Great Location clean but needs updating and sound proofing - Great Location Shared spaces, Only 4 seats for 6 guest , Balcony chairs under in front of other guests bedroom, sound proofing ( Can here the other guests in the bathroom )
- Anthea (10/5): A cozy and charming historical stay - It was such a quaint historical building. It has all the necessary modern amenities without taking away from the vintage feel of the place. The view from our room was lovely. Our host left a lovely personal touch of easter eggs amongst our continental breakfast. The location was excellent, as we were right at the centre of the Tilba shops being less than a minutes walk from iconic locations like the lolly shop and the tilba dairy shop. The room was smaller than expected, but that just contributed to the cozy charm of the place. The staircase was very narrow and close to the ceiling - this wasn't a big issue but just something to be aware of if you are a tall person.
- Sayed (10/5): A little Gem at Central Tilba - A self contained cosy gem at a stunning location. They have done a great job of preserving the authenticity whilst providing the modern day comfort. N/A
- Simon (9/5): Highly recommend a great place in a lovely area of NSW - Great place and good communication from owners Nothing
- Julie (9/5): Gorgeous little (3 room) historic hotel in the small and quaint village of Central Tilba. - Very friendly helpful host.
- Gerley (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely fresh breakfast provided in a historic building in and walk to everything
- Bronwyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (9/5): Superb - Love the old classic style, amazing view
- Michelle (8/5): Great for an overnight stay. Even better if you can stay for 2 nights! - Excellent location. A comfortable easy place to stay.
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Georgie (10/5): Cosy, clean. Would book again - Access to the property was easy, room was clean and tidy and the kitchenette was well stocked.
Loved the little tray in the fridge with food and beautiful cheese from the Tilba dairy Parking can be difficult on the street especially if the markets are on.
- Arnold (9/5): Good place to stay in central Tilba. - A good stay in Tilba; a very pretty location and fine small village with good cafes and quaint abience. Our room on the bottom floor was excellent with a bath and a good view out the window. Good kitchen with milk and good coffee available. The local shop and bakery next door is excellent We never met the owners or any manager. It felt a bit odd. Otherwise, we liked it.
- Timothy (8/5): Very good - Unique
- Burns (7/5): Good -
- Judy (9/5): Would definetly definely stay again - Lovely & peaceful. Terrific location. Nothing
- Jerome (10/5): Relaxing days that offered plenty of opportunity for reflection - This hotel was exceptional and exceeded my expectations in many ways. The room and common areas offered a gorgeous view that looks out onto the valley, so much so that we spent half a day reading a book by the window. The breakfast provided was the best of the local produce: Creamy milk and cheese from Tilba itself, bread from the nearby bakery and some cold-pressed juice. The bookshelf offered a good selection of history and fiction books that matched the place both in theme and look. The rooms were clean and the toiletries selected with care. The owners are lovely people and I would love to come back again. The town itself became busy during the day but became quiet from the late afternoon. Great hikes nearby.
- Chris (9/5): Lovely room in small traditional house at the bottom end of Tilba. - Tasty simple breakfast in shared kitchen.
