Guest Reviews

- Sonja (6/5): - De ligging Comfort.

- Aleida (8/5): -
- Shakira (9/5): Super! - Location and accesibility None
- Robert (8/5): Very good - parking details for 2m vehicles
- Walter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vincent (9/5): Superb - The unique styling. The central location. The quietness. The tick curtains.
- Paul (10/5): Great owner, perfect location, if you want to spend a few days exploring with no hassle, go here. - I didn’t do breakfast, the location was perfect, short walk to the station, everything is right at your door I imagine people would complain about the amount of steps to the suite, this is just a feature of the architecture of a building with this much history- enjoy it
- Gildas (9/5): Endroit original - La deco Town
- Martha (7/5): Good -
- Marc (7/5): Good - Fantastic location right in city centre just around the corner of all the main streets. Spacious room, value for money Shower needs fixture
- Oindrila (2/5): It's the most horrible place to stay with a spooky atmosphere!! DONT STAY HERE!! - Nothing...Booking.com should not have such horrible places in their list. There is no mention of 3 floors climbing so high in a very bad kind of staircase. The host is extremely non friendly and non responsive!!! It was a horrible place to stay!! You need to climb 3 floors with a very slim staircase. Rooms on other floors were not offered even if they looked empty. The building looked spooky with no light on the 3rd floor. No one comes to clean the room or change towels. My husband got injured in the dark landing of staircase. The host never offered to change the faulty light even after we complained .
- Ralf (6/5): Pleasant -
- Marcel (8/5): Very good -
- Zeldi (8/5): Very good -
- Salomé (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely cute room, nice bathroom, the location was really convenient 🙂
- Carl (5/5): Passable - Destination, close to all amenities. No staff around to support. No breakfast opportunities.
- Deborah (9/5): Great little quirky room in the perfect location - We loved this quirky little room and the location was absolutely amazing, in the old town. Really close to lots of restaurants and bars and the cathedral. Very clean and spacious. While we didn’t meet any staff due to it being a contactless check in, they did respond to messages via the app very quickly. We had a great stay but one improvement would be some milk or creamer in the room for the coffee and some hand soap (there was body wash and shampoo though).
- Raymond (9/5): Superb - Basically a one floor private apartment amazing decor, quirky, clean, warm, safe and within walking distance of the old town but also within easy reach of the main shopping area. Goid kitchen, shower and toilet facilities. No hassle and a great, friendly owner.
- Cheryl (8/5): Very good - The street is a little noisy with restaurants but not terrible. The room was very eclectic and funky. Great location to all the main sights
- De (5/5): Great location but very basic room with bad WiFi - The location was wonderful. Right in the centre, pretty old cute building. The room was very basic.
For example, there was only one soap dispenser in the bathroom (at least i think it was soap, there was no label). There was a coffee machine but no milk or creamer, just sugar.
The WiFi was horrible and we didn’t have any other way to be on the internet so that was very inconvenient.
The TV could only be on one channel which had sports (biking)
The beds was old and not very comfortable and the pillows were very flat.
It was fine as far as location goes since things were walkable but it was really not very great value since it was not cheap so I guess we paid mainly for the central location.
- Jason (7/5): Our stay - Interesting room, good location No air conditioning
- Saskia (10/5): Loved staying in this extensively decorated property close to the center. - perfect location close to the cathedral. But if you're staying here, it's for the decor. It is the coolest space, like having a room in a museum for a few nights. If you are a historian and/or a maximalist, this is your place. I love staying in places like this: the kind of place where nowhere else in the world would you find something like this. This isn't a thing I disliked, but a thing that travellers should be aware of: some level of agility is needed to climb into and out of the shower/bath (it's very deep!) and up the surprisingly steep 3 steps to the toilet. It's a historic building so of course it's going to be a bit non-standard.
- Frans (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Superb - everything ! loved it bathroom door handle - everything else was wonderful
- Nieuwenhuijse (7/5): Nice welcome, friendly host, good location, room needs some extra werk, small entrance. - The owner is very hospitable and helpful. The beds were fine and the bathroom is neat and modern.
The location is perfect.
The room is originally decorated. The room was not completely finished. There is a whole in the ceiling which still needs to be covered. The stairs to get to the room are somewhat small.
- Zoe (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful and clean
- Radoslaw (7/5): Good -
- Ali (7/5): value for money - very good location. large family room. good value for money. This is a self check-in hotel which was not stated clearly in the description. So we were a little bit shocked to see the door was locked when we arrive. As the building is vintage and the entrance was not looking like a hotel but more like an empty building, furthermore the phone number given was not responding, we came to the conclusion that we have been scammed. and started to look for another hotel. after a couple of hours struggle we have recognised the text message in the booking.com account inbox explaining how to get into the room with the keys hidden in a small box. Finally we made it through!
- Henderson (9/5): Character roomy apartment with querky decore close to the lively old town - Character roomy apartment in quiet street very close to the lively old town. Large bathroom ( great shower). Beds comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff (although this is a non-hosted BnB). we didn’t seem to get a message with the access instructions and code but fortunately Frederic was there when we got to the front door and kindly gave us access to our room early
- Madill (9/5): My daughter and I had a blast staying in this special pensione. The first place with lots of room. - Tons of space in the "turtle room." Decor was joyful. Bed--so comfortable. Excellent location. There were LOTS of stairs. I couldn't carry my suitcase up or down. Luckily my co-traveler could but it was a difficult experience. The only negative one with the property.
- Andreas (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (5/5): Cute place ruined by bed bugs - The location is great and the apartment is really cute My friend and I shared a bed here in November. We both got covered in bed bug bites. Mine showed up the next day and hers four days later (ruling out the chance they were mosquito bites). I hope they can fix this problem as the place is otherwise great
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gijs (7/5): an original and bit peculiar place, but comfortable, clean and in the centre of the city -
- Braden (8/5): Quirky, efficient. - Quirky, clean, eccentric. Everything about this place is good. Great amount of hot water (I took a bath), fun vibe, and a lot of space. My check in time kept changing due to conference organizers moving around and packing in my programming, but the hosts were gracious enough to accomodate. Tile floors make it seem cold, and I did not pack warm pyjamas. There is not much the hosts can do about it--Antwerp is cool many months of the year. They did provide a space heater. Just pack something warm :)
- Jill (10/5): Exceptional - unique and beautiful
the location was fantastic
- Giacomo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (8/5): This is a great location from which to explore all the sights of the old city. - This hotel was in a great location for walking around the main part of the old city. The room was clean and the bathroom was roomy with a good, hot shower. Just be forewarned, the stairs are narrow and steep and there are a lot of them up to the top floor where we were! But that’s the case in most of these charming old hotels. We had to open windows due to the summer heat and the city street noises were quite loud at night.
- Yiran (10/5): Exceptional - The host is super nice! The decoration is so good! Highly recommended!
