• R (9/5): - It was an insanely amazing stay. it looks like it is in Indonesia, with this stunning Balinese-style villa. The rooms are fully equipped and beautiful. nothing is left to fate, but there are so many details and so many useful things, from the kitchenware to the beach towels! Outdoor area can be better preserved, but still very stunning.

The cold tub is a treat too in the hot weather! Loved the room so much so beautifully decorated as well at the rest of the property. The kookaburras and parrots that come to feed are just stunning. Staying here is such a tranquil and peaceful experience and exactly what I wanted, somewhere to wind down and ground myself in the nature! The plants and forest surrounding are breathtaking, I will definitely be back here! Leonie is so helpful and kind she was so lovely to me whilst I stayed and dropped me to my first job trial and helped me out a lot! I will be back!! Nothing!! It was perfect

• Devin (10/5): Ein perfekter Aufenthalt - Das Zimmer war so so schön und hatte alles was man brauchte um sich wohlfühlen! Die Küche war so sauber und perfekt ausgestattet. Es wurde sogar Wasser in den Kühlschrank gestellt damit man was frisches hat. Alles wirklich wirklich perfekt!

Leonie, our host, was warm and welcoming, and Salt, the adorable pup, stole our hearts (and brought us a coconut gift! 😂 The property was immaculate, comfy, and surrounded by lush gardens. The hot tub was the perfect spot to unwind, and the free washing machine was a bonus! The breakfast provisions were a thoughtful touch, especially with early morning tours. We'll miss this little haven but can't wait to return and experience it all again. Thanks, Leonie and Salt, for making our stay truly special! 🙏❤️ Leaving!

• María (7/5): Lugar increíble, como dentro de la selva, con algún pero - El lugar está totalmente inmerso en la naturaleza. Es precioso el jardín y como está decorada la casa también. La cocina totalmente abierta a la naturaleza tb es muy bonita. Leonie se preocupa de que todo esté bien y es muy agradable. Además deja a mano repelente de mosquitos, tapones para los oídos y cualquier cosa q necesites. El ruido de las ranas croando a la noche es muy molesto. Es una barbaridad lo que se oye. Nos tocó la habitación q está más alejada del baño y para acceder a él se pasa por una zona algo oscura cuando ya es de noche (da cosa si pisas alguna rana o sapo) y con una parte sin cubrir por lo q no resulta cómodo ir al baño y más teniendo en cuenta q nos tocó un día de mucha lluvia.

• Jeremy (10/5): - Very comfortable and quiet accommodation while still being only a short drive from Airlie Beach. Whitsundays Retreat is enclosed within a Balinese-inspired garden setting and the property is on the edge of Conway National Park - we even saw an echidna in the garden! Lots of cute frogs too. Leonie was a lovely host who was very kind and great at communication. I would definitely return here :)

• Jane (9/5): Quirky but friendly, comfortable and well equipped - Up high in the trees, we had a very friendly welcome and even gluten free bread was provided for me. The place is quirky and a bit dark but was very well equipped including washing machine and clothes airer. Nice private balcony with bbq. It was up a very steep hill and quite a long walk from town, although as the Music Festival was on maybe it was a peaceful alternative. We had a car so no big problem. The owners dog was slightly off putting but pretty harmless. The second bed was good to have but dominates the main living room.

She went the extra mile providing us lovely breakfast items, and upgraded us to a bigger room that happened to be available. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Salt, her lovely dog was also very friendly!

La maison est accueillante avec une cuisine ouverte sur la verdure. La salle de bains magnifique et la chambre économique très confortable. Hôte très à l'écoute et de bons conseils. • Yuko (1/5): We did not stay here - As another reviewer mentioned, it's impossible to sleep here. There was a very, very strong smell in the room, and it was extremely dark outside. The shared toilet isn’t very close, which is especially inconvenient if you're bringing your parents. The big rock on the ground in front of the room is not friendly for anyone needing to use the bathroom in the night. So, we ended up taking a taxi and found another place to stay. When we arrived, there were kinds of animal noises. Yes, you're surrounded by nature, but it was a bit too much — plus, there were flying insects inside the room and a spider on your door. When we turned off the ceiling fan, they landed on our skin. If you’re someone who has allergies or is afraid of insects, you won’t enjoy this place.

• McDowall (9/5): We enjoyed our 1 night stay. Peaceful place, good value for the room - We just stayed one night, we looked for reasonably priced bnb and this place met our expectations. Good breakfast (good variety) included. Host very friendly. Great kitchen balcony area. Bathroom was shared (overlooked when booked) and a bit far away from bedroom, but a very minor issue.

Overpriced all things considered - The host is very nice and kind and the house and the shared areas are quite good It’s quite far from Airlie beach and with poor public transport connection. You have to either walk 35min uphill (very steep as the house is on top of a hill) or take a cab - we took 4 cabs for a 2 night stay which we didn’t budget in when we booked

We normally don't stay at places with a shared bathroom and toilet. I overlooked this when I booked. We only had one occurrence where the bathroom was being used by the other guest when we went to use it, so it really wasn't an issue for us.

• Kim (6/5): Restful with ambience. - Out of the way, quiet location, nice outlook and atmosphere. Owner and her dog were friendly and welcoming but not in any way intrusive. Clean, kitchen facilities good but no microwave. One bedroom door did not lock properly and although there was air-conditioning there was no fresh air ventilation at night with the doors closed. Shower pressure was not great and the bed was very soft. No microwave in kitchen.

Shared bathroom for the room we were in, but probably the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in my life. Free washer, and Leonie even offered to dry out clothes for us in he dryer since we were leaving the next day. Free snacks provided by the host. Would 1000% recommend everyone I know to stay here. Nothing!

• Marcmurphy (10/5): Great place - Honestly cant praise this placd enough, we booked fairly late in the evening due to circumstances and we arrived with roughly 30-40 mins notice. On arrival we were given the tour of the place and as an added bonus we have breakfast materials giving to us along with other supplies. Washing facilites on site along with a sunbathe area withna jacuzzi beside it

You can tell from the moment you walk through the gates, that this property is a labour of love. Beautifully landscaped with an Eastern Balinese vibe. Rooms are wonderfully decorated with a lot of attention to detail. Leonie is an absolutely wonderful host that goes above and beyond to make your experience the best possible. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil location. 5 Gold stars 🌟 Couldn't fault a thing with our stay.

• Layla (5/5): Not as clean as we’d hoped for - Plenty of space for parking, beautiful garden, and had all amenities as listed. We stayed in the Buddha room, there was a lot of dust in the corners of the room with cobwebs and spiders. Unfortunately, we saw cockroaches in the roof of the kitchen and we found a dead cockroach under the stove :(
