Guest Reviews
- Dominique (10/5): Absolutely Stunning! - This place was fabulous! Great facilities, easy to find, easy parking, easy access for checkin and checkout. Breakfast provided, with our own kitchenette, but also communal kitchen spaces and a BBQ/fire pit space. Stunning location, stunning view. Loved waking up to the kangaroos in the front yard every morning. Close to woodend for all the necessities. Would highly recommend this to anyone!
- Tyler (10/5): - Location and peacefulness, clean and modern
- Nicole (10/5): - Great facilities
- Jill and John (10/5): Hanging Rock Views was wonderful! - Everything was lovely! All the trimmings were appreciated very much. Signage at the property. Both entrances were close and both houses had flat roofs.
- Madushanka (10/5): Great place close to nature and more suitable for a relaxed stay. - Clean place with a stunning view.
- Allan (9/5): We loved our stay at Hanging Rock Views where Kangaroos roamed the paddock in front of our room in the early morning and - Property was located on a farm overlooking Hanging Rock in the distance with beautiful views across the well groomed property. Short 7min drive to Woodend where good options for eating. Breakfast was adequate and extra offerings were available in the common area. Long gravel road to access property and walking tracks around the property not well defined and a bit rough for walking.
- SUSAN (10/5): Perfect for peace, quiet and beautiful views with lots of wild life. - The views were beautiful and the accommodation was clean, well equipped and beautifully designed. Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): - It was the perfect base whilst we explored the whole area! Hanging Rock and the numerous small towns were so close. The views were wonderful and the gorgeous mob of kangaroos that were never far from sight were a bonus. I have to make special mention of the abundance of extras that were provided! Such a welcome surprise and much appreciated. Nothing.
- Mary-Louise (10/5): - The most comfortable bed and so peaceful and quiet.
- mary (9/5): The perfect spot for a lovely weekend. - The serenity Nothing, except the chilly weather!
- Olga (8/5): -

- Chris (9/5): A beautiful space, well thought out and has everything you need. - The breakfast pack was very welcome: the sourdough, eggs, tomatoes thank you. The bacon was ho hum. The extras like cereal, milk and nice coffee machine were also great. We used the BBQ area and loved watched the kangaroos from there. The bathroom was large and luxurious and I really enjoyed having a bath in the lovely separate bathroom. There were extras like candles and a few toiletries too. We were told on a rainy day that we could check in at 1pm when it was already nearly 2pm when we got the message. I thought check in was 2pm but the listing said 3pm so we were driving around waiting til then. It would have been nice if we had that message earlier.
The artificial smells from Ambi Pur and sticks in perfumed bottles everywhere was a bit too much. We had to place them outside for our stay.
- Trinidad (9/5): Beautiful place to stay and we will be back. - Hanging Rock views was a lovely place to stay with amazing views and maximum relaxation. The room was beautifully decorated and clean and had everything needed to make our stay fabulous. It was close to the towns we visited and the recommendations made were great too The only thing I would mention is that you can hear the people next door and I'm sure they can hear you so not as private as I would have liked but it did not stop us from having an amazing time.
- Claerwen (10/5): Stunningly beautiful and serene Hanging Rock stay - The setting is superb, views of Hanging Rock and the kangaroos just in front of you. Great bbq facilities in gazebo and rooms and kitcen area extremely well equipped. The night sky stars beautiful and there was so much to look at we didnt find time to use the relaxing spa bathroom. Hope to return soon as it really was a stunningly serene and beautiful stay Nothing

Peaceful location
Very clean, coffee tea and fresh Sour dough Bread. Accommodating our dietary requirements.
We could not have asked for more.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and unwind from the city life, with a short trip into town with great places for lunch and dinner and wineries to visit.
I highly recommend it to all

- Riaan (9/5): Very relaxing with the most beautiful views. - Everything Nothing
- Jodi (10/5): A little piece of Aussie heaven - Incredible views and location with a comfortable room with every amenity
- Mellor (10/5): Just beautiful - highly recommend - Was a pleasant surprise to have bacon, eggs, tomatoes, avocado and fresh sourdough bread available for us to cook not just cereal etc. The view of Hanging Rock were amazing. Everything was perfect.
- Ronald (10/5): Hoping to return soon as it was so relaxing and peaceful. - Lovely views of Hanging Rock and a very peaceful location. The breakfast hamper was excellent. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The floor mat was turned up at the corners therefore was a trip hazard. Needs attention.
- Paul (10/5): - The breakfast was a perfect little touch. lots of wildlife kangaroos everywhere. Was great to get out of Sydney to somewhere quiet and relaxing. Views were amazing we will be back for longer next time. I didn’t like leaving. Wanted to stay longer 😀
- Lynn (8/5): -
- Barry (8/5): Peaceful and great location walks stunning as are Roos and birdlife and Sunsets - Included breakfast needs to use local bread ( Woodend Sourdough) and rather than pack cereal use local granola Position on TV needs to be re thought we should not need to move lounge
The outside area is great in non windy times so a rethink so that one can use it and fire more easily ..
- Georgie (8/5): -
- Nathaniel (10/5): - Great little place for a weekend getaway, throughly enjoyed the set up, the bbq, fire pit and all the kangaroos!
- Chris (10/5): Comfy, peaceful and delightful - The breakfast was awesome with plenty for the two mornings - all placed in a basket in the fridge - eggs, bacon, butter, avocado and sourdough bread. There was fresh milk, selection of cereals - including porridge sachets There wasn't anything we didn't like. Everything was thoughtfully provided for us with plenty of equipment for us to use. If we had stayed longer there was certainly plenty of things for us to enjoy at the property ie a firepit, lovely community lounge and dining area that was beautifully presented.
- Keeley (10/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): Wished I could have had longer, such a nice relaxing environment. - Loved the location and views. Quiet and relaxing.
- Norman (10/5): -
- Georgie (10/5): A peaceful location to rest and unwind amongst the special views - Stunning and peaceful location. The views were special. The room was modern and well appointed. Nothing!
- Licorice (9/5): Fantastic views. - It was lovely having breakfast supplies left for us for our entire 3 days. Even a coffee machine in our room. Beds comfy and the room had the most amazing view of hanging rock. Also lovely seeing lots of kangaroos outside our room every day.
- Murch (9/5): Great location. Very comfortable -
- Liz (10/5): A winner for any weather, stunning location. - We had such a lovely stay, warm and cosy. Absolutely stunning views of the sunset, and Hanging Rock. The absolute winner was seeing the local Kangaroo mob come slowly grazing right up to the room. Our room was kitted out with everything you could possibly need , and a winter bonus of floor heating! The hosts have been very thoughtful in providing ideas of things to do in the area as well as on site, a great hike through the bush on the property or board games and books to read if too wet to be outside. Also loved the breakfast hamper, everything was yummy.
Also a special shoutout to the team that went above and beyond to help return the ipad we left behind. 10 out of 10 on all fronts.
- .queenie. (10/5): Exceptional - My gosh, so many good things to say about Hanging Rock Views! We loved the views from our room and the cascade walk at the back of the property (though the leeches were a bit scary!); the kitchens were very well stocked with coffee pods and tea; crackers and marshmellows for the fire pit; the breakfast provided was quite substantial for two people and the beds were firm with the best electric blankets!
Hanging Rock Views is very close to the Hanging Rock itself, as well as Woodend and Mt Macedon so there's plenty to do - we'll definitely be back!
- Moss (8/5): Amazing place and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this area. - Location was amazing, Bed was comfortable, Breakfast was a nice touch, was nice and spacious.
was far enough away from the town to feel remote, but still close to everything.
Chris was amazing in his support leading up to our stay as we have personal circumstances, that impacted us. Breakfast was only for 1 day, basket was not quite enough to 2 mornings, this included the milk, where there was not enough for 1 coffee each for 2 mornings.
Better soundproofing would be nice, to give that remote private feel, as every door could be heard, as well as talking and others bathrooms.
- Evans (10/5): Perfection! Everything was amazing. We can in as boyfriend and girlfriend and left as an engaged couple! - The property was amazing and the views were breathtaking
- Bella (9/5): The perfect destination for a cosy weekend away -
- Philip (10/5): Second visit to Hanging Rock Views. Already looking forward to the next stay. - Peace and tranquillity. Great views of Hanging Rock (and kangaroos). Very stylish modern rooms. Easy check in. So close to great dining at Woodend, Gisborne and Kyneton.
- Nicola (9/5): Would love to stay here again - Such a gorgeous location!
Seeing the views and the kangaroos just outside was amazing.
The room was lovely and clean and smelt really nice. The breakfast that was provided was good.
There is plenty of information in the lobby about local walks and restaurants.
Even though we stayed in winter, we didn’t really need the heating on because the sun warmed up the building.
We will definitely stay here again. We had the patio door open for some fresh air, and the lady in the next room decided to stand outside her room and smoke a cigarette- our door was closed very quickly…
- Lilly (10/5): Great to recharge the batteries. - Beautiful scenery, accomodation was cosy loved the kangaroos grazing on the property. Couldn’t fault it.
- Derek (8/5): Weekend escape - Very clean, spacious enough but most of all the commanding view. It was well appointed, comfortable, it lacked nothing Not to be critical, just felt a slight lack of privacy with immediate neighbours
- Jonathan (10/5): Views and kangaroos - Such a beautiful location, lovely rooms, incredible views and grounds and kangaroos galore. So peaceful and quiet and so many stars at night. Easy to access and less than an hour to Melbourne airport. Minor one...would have loved an oven, stove and microwave were great though.
- Ewan (10/5): Wonderful relaxing stay. - Very comfortable suite
Very quiet and relaxing. Amazing views to Hanging Rock. The breakfast ingredients were greatly appreciated and enjoyed very much. The entrance to Hanging Rock views is poorly lit and signposted. It is a dangerous intersection.
- Garry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mollie (4/5): A disappointing trip at what should have been a beautiful getaway - The location was beautiful. Felt secluded but close enough to town and local restaurants. Highly recommend checking mount Macedon winery out. The bed was very comfortable and loved all the detail put into the room. Unfortunately we were stuck with a rather horrible experience for 3/4 days we stayed. The other occupants were awful, and despite raising with the staff we had families with multiple kids screaming and playing music in the common area right outside our suite every day of our stay. For a supposed relaxing experience, I had to ask the other occupants to quiet down at midnight as we couldn’t get any sleep, and every morning we were rudely woken up. The only peaceful morning we got was morning of check out, which for the price I believe to be pretty unfair.
We also had no hot water on the second night or third day, so we could not shower before heading to our winery lunch. This wouldn’t have been much of an issue if we weren’t already dealing with the other occupant’s disturbance all day.
It is a lovely place to stay, however we pay for the experience and to pay nearly a thousand dollars and have 80% of our trip ruined meant that our trip was a disappointment. The staff were empathetic and we appreciated their understanding and the choccies left for us, however when told we would receive a voucher to give the place another crack we did not receive, so sadly I don’t think we’ll be putting another 1000 into another stay in the future. That being said, it is a lovely place and the team who run the venue are lovely, and if you are fortunate enough to not be stuck with the misfortune we had for our whole stay, you will love the time spent there.
- Ami (10/5): Exceptional - It’s truly hard to fault this place. We stayed in the stunning, brand new Newham apartment and were blown away by the experience. The apartment was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished, and offered spectacular views (from both the lounge and kitchen) of Hanging Rock and the surrounding countryside. It was the perfect peaceful retreat and an ideal setting to reconnect with nature.
The apartment was incredibly quiet, offering complete privacy throughout our stay. A thoughtful breakfast basket was provided along with fresh fruits, which was a lovely added touch.
The location is fantastic. 7 minute drive into town. Communication with Chris was seamless and prompt from start to finish.
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy a serene, nature fillled getaway.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay at Hanging Rock Views. The all-day kangaroo bonanza was fantastic for non-Australians, and the views were absolutely beautiful. It was comfortable and warm, and close to everything we needed.
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Bryp (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic accommodation and beautiful location
- Jacinta (10/5): An amazing experience! - Rooms finished to a high standard, views of Hanging Rock and the Macedon Ranges were great and it was fabulous to look out onto the kangaroo herds grazing!
- Jackie (10/5): Perfect - Loved all of it Nothing
- Imogen (9/5): Modern comfort in a beautiful country setting - Beautiful location, very comfortable and generous breakfast provisions. Host very approachable and fixed a little issue very quickly. EV charger is a great bonus feature.
- Wendy (10/5): Exceptional - Didn't like the open shower
- Jessica (10/5): A beautiful stay! - Very comfortable, had everything you needed! Bathroom got quite wet from the shower, but there were extra bath mats to soak up the water.
- Maria (10/5): Another super quiet , comfy and serene stay in this idyllic country location. with kangaroos outside - Perfect scenic and convenient location for my run the rock fun run event
beautiful room with expansive views across hanging Rock
- Maggie (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stuart (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay. It was one of the best B and B's we have stayed in. - Beautiful views, quiet, many comforting touches, and excellent breakfast provisions. The television was set extremely high on the wall, which caused pain in neck and shoulders, from having to look up.
- Nicola (10/5): Peaceful place to recharge - We travelled from interstate. The location could not have been closer to the wedding we were attending.
Peaceful location, with lovely view. Barely heard our neighbours and only met them (fellow wedding attendees!) by chance encounter outside.
Instructions prior to arrival were clear so a "contactless" check-in worked seamlessly.
Solid amenities, cooking equipment, utensils etc. To be self-sufficient if desired. Common "lobby" area is a cozy space. No negatives to report - there was nothing we felt was missing or needed fixing.
If you're looking for a hotel/resort stay full of excitement, this isn't it. But if you want a chance to rest, away from daily worries and life, this is perfect!
- Aldo (10/5): Pure pleasure -

To be honest I almost did not want to review this place because I want to keep it all to myself. I think this place has better provisions that what we have in our own home. Literally everything is thought of. The entire place is pristine …More

Spectacular view of Hanging Rock across green fields where a mob of 30+ kangaroos wander in every evening. Walking trails up the slope amid the trees: birdsong and running water over ancient stone. Quiet, comfortable rooms with excellent amenities. A lovely region too. Would happily stay again.

The place was just so relaxing.. everything provided for a very comfortable retreat in the country. Kangaroos was lovely to wake up to, looking out into the hills. Thanks again for a lovely weekend getaway. Nothing.
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (10/5): Perfect weekend escape in the country - We had a perfect stay! The pre-stay communication and check-in instructions were very clear. There was everything we could need in the room for a comfortable stay, including toiletries, a hairdryer, lots of linen pillows and blankets, and more kitchen items than I have at home! The furnishings were luxurious, including a large comfortable bed, and the whole place was spotless. There were even fresh flowers on the table. The breakfast package was delicious (all fresh and presumably local produce- eggs, bacon, milk and butter, tomatoes and avocado, and a fresh crusty loaf). An added extra was the separate bath in an additional room across the hall. There are even bath salts, candles etc that you can use too. The scenery at the location is stunning; views sweeping down to the valley and Hanging Rock, kangaroos and Rosellas all around, and walks on the property. The first night, I was not sure if there was anyone else staying, as it was very peaceful. The second night, it seemed like all rooms were occupied, but we still could barely hear anyone else, or noises from other rooms. Nothing, it ticked all our boxes!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mahendra (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect
- Navid (9/5): Superb -
- Selina (10/5): Very nice, well equipped room with a million dollar view - Wonderful, clean, well decorated room with a million dollar view. Super friendly and responsive staff. Nice outdoor bbq area. And nothing can beat a herd of about 50 kangaroos grazing in front of your window.
- Mary (10/5): Australia's hidden gem, faultless. - The place was spotless, everywhere was gleaming and fresh paint, everything. So well equipped, even left fresh fruit in the lounge. Outside was immaculate, well looked after and so many places to sit in the shade and take in the breathtaking scenery. Kangaroos came right up to our wee porch. I can't think of anything, cleanest and best equipped place I've stayed.
- Jacinta (10/5): Exceptional - The room was cozy with the most beautiful views! N/A
- Michael (9/5): It was a lovely place to stay for couples for a weekend or midweek. Reasonable priced and well worth a stay. The views w - Lovely property and well appointed with furniture & appliances. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast provisions were sufficient. Some juices for breakfast would be a good idea. The alarm going off next door at midnight till 4:00am was not good but the staff fixed the problem as soon as they could and made compensation for it.
- Greg (8/5): Beautiful place. Definitely recommend for a quiet getaway. - Location is superb. Views definitely did not disappoint and trips to all of the local towns are easy.
- Margaret (10/5): A totally blissful weekend away and wish we could have stayed and relaxed for longer. - The room and views were amazing. Even though the weather wasn't the best when we arrived, the view was spectacular once the clouds cleared. Views of Hanging Rock are fantastic. The breakfast supplies were wonderful although we really only had toast rather than the full bacon and eggs as we were going to a lunch which we knew was going to be substantial. Decor and ambiance were all faultless. We could hear conversation and tv noise from the room next to us but not sure if they had their tv up louder than usual or the walls may need a little bit more insulation. On our second night we didn't hear anything!
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (9/5): Relaxing getaway. - Great views and well equipped, modern and comfortable. nothing
- Charles (9/5): It is a fabulous rural location, surrounded by beautiful country and lots of kangaroos. The villas are simple, beautiful - Third visit. Great/beautiful location. Great facilities. Good value for many. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

A beautiful spacious and comfortable space, lots of lovely touches, fresh flowers, thoughtful and generous breakfast provisions, a wonderful view, kangaroos bouncing around and interesting walks on the property. We loved it and completely recommend it as a place to relax and unwind.
- Philip (10/5): Modern accom. Great location and views. Close to everything. Will be back. - Great location. So peaceful and quiet. Great views. And kangaroos everywhere.
Short drive to Woodend, Gisborne or Kyneton for eating.
Very modern, well-equipped accommodation.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - The breakfast hamper was excellent, as was the kitchenette. It was stocked beyond what we would have expected.
- Lisa (10/5): Great relaxing weekend getaway! - We loved the location with perfect views of Hanging Rock. Also close to Woodend for dinner options. We loved exploring Hanging Rock on one of our days. Very peaceful area but close to places of interest. It was sad to pack up and leave on our final day but we will be back! 😁
