The host was very nice and the breakfast excellent. Our bathroom was actually outside our room and there was a toilet between our room and our bathroom for other guests to use. Quite noisy, particularly at night.
Also our pillows had an unusual smell which my wife and I found most off putting

- Mohammad Bilal (10/5): Best stay i had in a long time - Robert is an amazing host, and the place is really beautiful.
We came in very delayed, way after the check in time ended, but it was not a problem. Bathroom is very modern and there is also a TV that one can use. We got a free upgrade because there was no one else than us.
Breakfast was included, as people already said he makes very nice bread by himself!
Super hospitable person, gave us good recommendations and we felt very good in this old timberwooden church :)
- Rebecca (9/5): - Loved the location, serene, quiet and surrounded by flowers and fields. A cosy, thoughtful home with delicious breakfast included. A good spot to be if visiting Cradle Mountain.
- Erez (10/5): - It was a wonderful experience for our family. A beautiful old church, Robert was very welcoming and shared his knowledge of the history of the
place and the area. The sunset was one to remember, and the breakfast with home made bread was just as good. BnB is a quintessential Tasmanian experience, and this one is highly recommended.
- Rachael (10/5): A wonderful experience here! - We stayed for 4 nights as a base for Cradle Mountain, the north coast and Launceston. Excellent location and value for money. There were beautiful views from the property too, but what made Barrington Church B & B the most special and memorable place we stayed in Tasmania, was the host Robert. He was so welcoming, knowledgeable and kind. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. His breakfasts were superb and the entire experience was pure magic. Nothing, everything was just amazing.
- Nozomi (5/5): - The staff were wonderful and very friendly, and the location was excellent. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was dis
appointing.
- Susan (9/5): Charming country church! - This is a beautiful little church, I enjoyed staying here very much. The owner has a commitment to old school hospitality. You're staying in a home rather than a hotel and will be greeted with a cup of tea and a chat, with a home cooked breakfast offered as part of the package. The owner has done an amazing job restoring the old church, which features gorgeous cottage gardens and has beautiful views of the surrounding farmlands. For a solo traveller like me, I found this a very comfortable place to stay and I highly recommend visiting.

- Oskar (7/5): Nice bnb with pretty location with excellent host. Rooms are shared bathrooms. Beautiful area! - We had to leave earlier than breakfast time allowed so canât rate the breakfast. Cleaning could be better. Very dusty especially the toilet seats and covers. Realized this is one person doing the entire place but when bathrooms and toilets are shared they need to be clean.

Our destination: the Barrington Church âȘïž B&B, a unique accommodation nestled in a former church dating back to 1885.
Adjacent to the church is the Jubilee Hall, constructed in 1906, now housing three cozy guest rooms. The âȘïž itself has been thoughtfully repurposed into a communal lounge and dining area, retaining its historical charm while offering modern comforts. ïżŒ
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Robert, the affable owner who traded the hustle of mainland life for the tranquility of Tasmania seven years ago.
He shared tales of his frequent visits to nearby Cradle Mountain, which eventually led him to settle in Barrington, captivated by its eccentric charm. One particularly delightful anecdote involved a local resident who regularly strolls through town with an alpaca đŠ on a leash, treating it much like a canine companion.
After settling in, curiosity drew us to the adjacent graveyard đȘŠ đ±. Wandering among the weathered headstones, we noticed a prevalence of the surnames Mason and Russell, hinting at the areaâs rich familial histories.
The quietude of the resting place added a contemplative ambiance to our evening, making us jest about the possibility of nocturnal visitations from the past.đł
The Barrington Church B&B offers a distinctive blend of historical allure and local character, providing a memorable conclusion to our dayâs journey. N/A
