Guest Reviews
- Marilou (10/5): Quiet and nice -
- Annette (9/5): - Absolutely lovely hosts! Such a beautifully renovated space!
- Mike (10/5): Amazing experience! - This home is absolutely beautiful and filled with so many antiques and books. It has a wonderful feel as if you're visiting your grandparents when you were a kid. Very warm and welcoming. The owners are so kind and awesome. They had great recommendations for places to eat and history of the area. Dan serves up a mean breakfast and was so accommodating to our schedule. We start work early in the morning. This place is an experience more than it is an accommodation. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I liked everything about this stay but if you're not into beautiful antiques and great conversation this might not be for you. There is also a very lovely cat on the property but I couldn't find any cat hair anywhere.
- Rafaela (9/5): Uma excelente hospedagem - Uma decoração pitoresca e cheia de charme. Uma delícia de colchão e folhas super macias. A gentileza dos anfitriões é incrível
- Robert (9/5): The Old Church B&B was an unforgettable experience and we would definitely recommend a stay there while at Writng on - We quite enjoyed our stay at The Old Church B&B. Pam and Dan were tremendous hosts. They prepared an exceptional breakfast for us with lovely table settings and very tasty food. The bed was comfortable and the space felt chill. The eclectic furniture, art work and antiques that decorated the interior space were a delight and sharing stories with Pam about her finds was a lot of fun. Dan was quite knowledgeable about the local geography and access points.
- Todd (10/5): Definitely return, even without a reason to be in the area - Cute property with the most gracious hosts Nothing
- Karen (9/5): - Pam & Dan go above and beyond for their guests. Their home is filled with so many treasures, and my partner especially loved the baseball memorabilia. It is clear how much love they put into their B&B.
For future guests, we highly recommend the local Chinese restaurant. While the ambiance is simple, the food was excellent and the portion sizes were incredible. We also enjoyed our visit to the local bar in Warner, where the staff was very friendly. The town is small, but it has everything needed for an enjoyable overnight stay.
- Yvonne (10/5): - The Old Church had a very comfortable bed with nice linens, a good shower, a freshly prepared breakfast, great hosts and a unique ambiance! It was great.
- Petra (9/5): -
- Rhonda (10/5): We had an amazing stay. Such a hidden gem in this small town. - Amazing property! Attention to detail. Unique. Clean.
- Michael (10/5): Amazing hosts, amazing cat, amazing stay! - The hosts turned out to be personable and engaging and really made us feel like home. Can't think of anything
- heather (8/5): It was an awesome piece of history. - Unique and wonderful. Dan was very informative and made a killer breakfast. Both him and his wife were very welcoming. Was a great place to stay and would recommend to anyone traveling to Canada!
- Claude (8/5): Décor exceptionnel ! - Hôte très accueillant! Un peu de poussière sur les objets. Inconvénient mineur.
- Mariah (10/5): - Lovely little local stay in Southern Alberta. The BnB has the bones of the old church still which is very cool. Dan and Pam are very welcoming, friendly and gracious with their time.
- Conan (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): -
- John (10/5): - The owners are great, place very clean. Will stay there again.

Great place to spend the night if you’re going to writing on stone.

- Melissa (9/5): -
- Paladin (9/5): -
- Silviya (10/5): The hosts turned the church in a beautiful home. - Pam and Dan are gracious hosts who have created a unique and beautiful home. Pam's breakfast tables were very beautiful and the breakfast itself was great. We had some very informative conversations with Dan. We actually learnt a lot from him about the life in the area:) N/A
- Jason (10/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): Quirky, comfortable and an experience in its own - The stay was absolutely wonderful, I went for the Writing on Stone NP but will remember the hospitality and experience of my stay at the old
Church. It’s a really cool decor plus exceptional hospitality from the hosts.
- wentland (10/5): Great place to spend some time at. - Dan & Pam were great host. They work hard to make this a great place to stay at and it shows with their great hospitality.
It’s one of the best B&B’s we stayed at.
Fantastic breakfast. No complaints.
- Mike Daubney (10/5): Interesting stay at this old church. - House is very eclectic and owners very friendly. Had a great breakfast and chat with the owners. Nothing
- robert (10/5): Funky fun place - Very charming
- Abisaid (10/5): An interesting and entertaining stay, made even better by the company of a beautiful cat. - The attention was excellent, everything was impeccable, and the hospitality was very warm and friendly. There was nothing I didn’t like; everything exceeded my expectations
- Anssi (10/5): - The perfect B&B. Super friendly and helpful host, who went out of his way to make us breakfast earlier than usual as we had an early start. Also helped us plan our day visiting tourist attractions the next day. The building itself is very unique (an actual old church) and full of cool stuff. Will definitely be staying here again next time we're in the area.
- Judy (5/5): OK - The breakfast was very good. A good mix of fruit, pastery & whipped cream. Had a good vigorous discussion during the meal. The building was packed full of antiques and collectibles making it difficult for me to move about safely especially with luggage. With so much stuff around, dusting had not been very well done. There was a cat that was not identified before hand and was let up on the furniture.
It is in very small town and there are only two other small town places to eat.
- Jessie (10/5): - The hosts went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable! They were very friendly and full of good advice for us.
Location is perfect to get to Writing on Stone Provincial Park without having to camp. And the house is so special and unique! My kids thought the slide next to the stairs was the best thing ever. Would stay there again!
- Deb (9/5): A lovely place to spend a few days! - Very different! The host and hostess were super friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
- Glen (10/5): - Nice people, nice cat.
- Ruth (9/5): - Dan and Pam were excellent hosts and made you feel like one of the family. Lovely bedroom and a great sleep. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

- Suzanne (10/5): An amazing stay at The Old Chur h - A wonderful place to stay. We loved the amazing reconstruction of the Old Church and the amazing collection of fascinating antiques in every room. The hosts, Pam and Dan, offered great hospitality and we enjoyed time visiting with them. The breakfasts were wonderful and the table settings each day were awesome. The bed was so comfortable, we slept like logs.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -

- Aleksandr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect spot, close to the attractions we were in the area to see. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Their home was delightful and breakfast was awesome. Not a huge deal, but the only restaurant in town was closed on a day it should have been open. That said, we ate there the night before and it was fabulous.
- Monica (10/5): We had a blast and enjoyed everything there. - Amazing breakfast, excellent location, beautiful landscape and area, such a unique place, great activities and cultural centres nearby, PM and Dan are so wonderful. Nothing at all.
- Olena (8/5): Very good -
- Faith (8/5): Very good -
- Jp (10/5): Great stay in the Old Church - Very unique atmosphere - loved the decor and feel of the old church. Dan was a wonderful host
- Diane (10/5): Home Away From Home! - The Old Church B&B is a gem! Located in Warner, AB, it is just 5 minutes away from the Devil's Coulee Dinosaur & Heritage Museum and 45 minutes away from Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park. The first thing we noticed about Warner is how quiet and peaceful this village is. The Old Church B&B was an actual church that has been transformed into a B&B. Adorned with plants and collectibles, this B&B has a charm that makes it welcoming and comfortable. Owners Pam & Dan are friendly and hospitable. Chica, their rescue cat, is adorable & charming. They have wonderful stories to share about small town life. Be sure to ask about the potato auction story! My daughter & I stayed on the upper floor. There is a recreational space where you could watch TV, play board games, or play a game of pool. There is a slide along the stairway to entertain the kids! The stained glass window looks amazing in the morning! Breakfast was delicious and fresh!
- Mary (10/5): A fantastic stay. A gorgeous home where we were treated like family. What more could you ask for? - So very beautiful! Of all the places I have stayed all over the world, this may be my favorite. Pam and her husband were extraordinary hosts and so much fun!

- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Brenda (10/5): Home away from home - The building, decoration, comfort, food, hospitality, welcoming atmosphere and especially Dan and Pam. When we go to Warner this is our home away from home and we have become family. We always look forward to our stay.

- Brian (10/5): Exceptional - A super unique place, very beautiful and felt like home.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location for our visit to Writing on Stone Park. Dan and Pam are great hosts and made us feel like one of the family.
- Ken (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Where to Begin! The place was beautiful. It was so warm and cozy, very inviting. We felt right at home. We were there for over a week due to issues getting into our new home, but the hosts were amazing! Many great conversations and laughs! We were given interesting information about the town.. where things are, just basic information that anyone new to a town would appreciate. I felt like we made 2 new friends. Can't say enough about our stay there... Plus on these really chilly mornings, sitting by the woodstove felt great! No complaints.
- Saeid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): A short one night stay that is etched in our memory banks. - A wonderful, welcoming, unique old church converted into a special B&B owned by 2 of the nicest most genuine people you could ever hope to share an evening with. Absolutely nothing, it was all fabulous.
- Tracey (10/5): Wonderful - Everything. The inner was so nice. It was gorgeous and breakfast was amazing.
- Larisa (10/5): This place should be featured in magazines and television - The creative design and use of the space was extraordinary. It was as if one spent the night at a museum! Every nook and cranny of this old church was redesigned in the most unique way! It is perfect for travelling from Canada to the US due to its proximity to the border crossing. Loved everything
- Karen (10/5): Awesome layover - Location, the atmosphere of the old church, we enjoy the owners Pam

- Jerry (10/5): Tiny town, relaxing, comfortable place to stay. - The converted church to a B&B was very interesting. Very well done conversion. The furnishings were beautiful and comfortable. The couple were outgoing and I had great conversations with them. The breakfast was fresh cooked from the kitchen, eggs, ham, hash browns, toast, and fruit and yogurt. Coffee, tea, and water were available anytime day or night. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. I had probably the best nights sleep here over my week long trip. If you like a tiny community and not the big city, stay here, it was relaxing. My experience was great. Nothing I did not like.
