Guest Reviews
- Vincent (10/5): Ontspannen in weelderige gastvrijheid.
- Margarita (10/5): Excelente - El dasayuno variado y rico.
- Leigh (10/5): Amazing - Staff The building

Prachtig gebouw Nvt
- Chris Howells (10/5): What a great find.... - Beautiful B&B, lovely location with the harbour opposite, ample parking, and a pleasant 5 minute walk to the centre of Zelzate.
A lovely, old converted building, the whole place is tastefully decorated.
The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, and spotlessly clean (cleaned daily), as is the rest of the communal areas and dining area.
Excellent breakfast buffet choices, with great coffee and fresh pastries.
The proprietor Katrin is a great host and very welcoming.
My go-to place to stay now while working in Ghent. Nothing!
- Yves (10/5): - Sehr schönes kleines Hotel

- Telmo Filipe (10/5): -
- Silvia (10/5): Muy agradable!!!!
- Paula (10/5): -
- Nina (9/5): Fascinating place - It was a fascinating place to stay and very cosy with a beautiful view on the small port. No fan nor a/c so very hot in summer
- Igor (10/5): - Nice rooms in renowated historical bulding
Very helpful owners No airco, so could be challenging in hot summer days
- Roy (10/5): -

- eric (8/5): Brillisnt - Exvellent breakfast. Quite rooms. Nice building Hot water takes ages to artive at the tape

- imca (8/5): Comfortable, Friendly and Good Value - Everything was very professionally done and things had been well-thought through - door entry codes, WiFi code and necessary information. Staff were very friendly and available when needed. Decor very pleasing and lots of areas to sit/relax inside and out. The breakfast was tasty, varied and just enough. Access to microwave and fridge very welcome. A calm and peaceful environment which is clean and well maintained. Nothing was bad. Some strange noises at night from the roof which was possibly due to the age of the building and the wind. Stairs are steep and more suited for able and perhaps younger people but we were made aware of this so it is not a criticism.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judith (10/5): We really enjoyed our time here, and will stay again when we are back in the area. - We stayed at this lovely B&B three times over a period of about a month. The location was perfect for us as it is next door to the marina and boatyard where we have our boat. Catherine is a wonderful host and helped us with multiple queries we had and also making some phone calls for us as we only speak English. Nothing could be better. The accommodation was everything we needed, and even had the added bonus of a communal lounge with a microwave, drinks, icecreams etc. to purchase which I thought was a nice touch.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful.
- Dimitri (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is perfect
Lovely location , amazing building refurbished with style and taste
Catherine was amazing and very helpful
Breakfast is absolutely perfect
- Rochi09 (10/5): A Perfect Home Away from Home - The room was spacious, very quiet, and spotlessly clean, with plenty of natural light and lovely views. It was fully equipped and the bed was incredibly comfortable.
The common areas were cozy, peaceful, and just as well-equipped.
Breakfast was delicious, made with high-quality ingredients.
Pets are welcome, which is a huge plus, and the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The building itself is charming, and the hotel offers all the comforts you could want.
Truly felt like being at home. Highly recommended! Nothing, everything was great.
- Roy (7/5): Need to update the rooms as it doesn’t match up with the building and expectations - Communal areas as lovely The room as hugely disappointing as clearly all the money went into the communal areas. The bathroom was outdated and an ugly shower cubicle with grubby plastic door. The bedroom was depressing with grey walls, a small window and completely mismatched furniture.
I actually considered checking to see if another hotel had any availability but was tired so decided to just stay.
- Bruna (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice decorated and well cared historical building, with nice garden, confortable bed and nice breakfast
- Marius (9/5): very friendly! -
- Edgar (9/5): Surprising nice boutique hotel! - All was fine, actually there are many nice details you do not wxpwct on the property, we loved the place Its a bit far close ro the border
- Tjhilbers (9/5): Neat and tidy B&B in Zelzate - Nicely renovated building with a couple of rooms. The rooms have everything you need and are kept very clean and tidy during the stay. A nice breakfast was ready every morning at 7. There was also a living room with a table and couch to make you feel a bit at home. Zelzate is maybe not the nicest city, but this location allows easy access to cities in all directions by car. The rooms itself only have small windows facing the harbour. Opening the window for fresh air forced me to kill some mosquitos every night, but a mosquito plug (socket) was luckily available.
- Ride (10/5): Exceptional -
- Schwarz (9/5): Old building nicely turned into a b&b - Really nice place. We were quite impressed with the old building but with all the necessary comfort. Breakfast was also really good and our host was really nice. The location is also really nice, close by water
- Paul (9/5): Superb - the atmosphere and the kind and friendly staff
- Valere (9/5): Had some problems to find the B&B. Overall I did like my stay. - Breakfast was very good.
Very friendly and helpful people The small stairs to the rooms. Difficult to go up with heavy luggage.
The lady was willing to help. Of course I declined-
- Tim (9/5): Fantastic renovated toll house building, comfortable room, good breakfast and a great base. - A great base for exploring with Bruges, Gent and Antwerp within an hour's drive, and Dordrecht a little further away. Fantastic historic toll house building, tastefully renovated with nice gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast good, room good. Nothing - everything was great.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (9/5): I felt at home. The breakfast was really good and fresh. The room was very clean and tidy. I loved it. - Super clean and cosy. The breakfast was homemade, with a good variety of food, fresh and delicious !
- Henriette (10/5): Zelzate different - The host is inspiring and a perfectionist.
- Chao (7/5): Decent experience. Nice people:) - They have a very cute dog. Owner was friendly and they also live in the same building - accessible No shampoo and not enough toilet paper provided. The room was just above stairs so can be noisy when there are customers coming back late.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Iain (10/5): A nice find, will use again. - Absolutely lovely location, good facilities for a b&b. N/A
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Klaus (9/5): ‚ I said I like it here can I stay? „ THE SMITH - Die Loungeecke und der Garten

There was nothing to not like. This hotel was perfect for us in every way.
- Pilar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clément (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Emre (9/5): Superb - Excellent atmosphere, comfortable beds
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Sofia (9/5): Superb -
- Yang (10/5): peaceful, comfortable, convenient, a wondfor place! love it! -
- Ralf (10/5): Exceptional - The Japanese Garden was ideal for relaxation and for our dog. The reception is run by the extraordinary supportive daughter of the owner. The former customs office has been converted into a very charming place. The nearby harbor can be noisy now and then. If temperatures go beyond 30 degrees, an air conditioner would be helpful.
