Guest Reviews
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Location was perfect for either a short or long trip. A kettle and tea was a nice addition.
- Davide (2/5): Very poor - I understand that is a cheap place, but wifi did not work on either of my devices, not acceptable in 2025
- Hanu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liana (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Authentical B&B in Gent, which makes you feel at home, with its cozy and warm nature. - It was warm, cozy, and had all the necessary amenities for us to sleep in comfortably. It is relatively close to the city center, only a short walk and a tram away. The host was also such a lovely, kind-hearted person. I would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Ghent! Going up three flights of stairs with heavy luggage wasn't the best experience, but it was fine considering that it was an old family house. Additionally, the walls in the room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. There were cob webs in the corners of the room. However, this was all very excusable, since the rest of the room (floor, bed, and furniture) was squeaky clean and had adorable decorations.
- Brian (9/5): Lovely B&B, welcoming host, lovely location. - The room is exactly as advertised, quite large and comfortable. While the bathroom is seperate, it is for private use. There is a little kitchenette that you could make use of, albeit I just used the fridge. Renee, the host, is very friendly and welcoming and was available were any issues to arise, which they didn’t.
The location, while about a 15-20 minute walk from the cathedral, is a short walk to Gent-Dampoort railway station if you’re coming by train. There is also a supermarket nearby, along with a really nice local pub and brewery within walking distance. The walk into the centre town is lovely with all the canals and is very pedestrian friendly, so I encourage anyone staying to take this option. Of course, you could jump on a bike as well and be there in 5 minutes.
Overall, this is a great place to stay. Nothing
- Ruth (10/5): Would stay here again - Renée was lovely and helpful. The accommodation is in a good location
- Sophia (6/5): Pleasant - Host is very nice and location is close to the center but the room and kitchen were not very clean
- Petros (7/5): Good -
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (9/5): Superb - The location was pretty good. Close to Daamport station. I was able to control the temperature in the room with the radiators. Nil.
- Mikołaj (9/5): Superb -
- Živa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nisa (8/5): Very good -
- Orlando (8/5): Very good - The host has been very nice and available. The B&B is close to the city center, in a quiet area well server by public transports. The room was clean and equipped with a kettle and tea and coffe were available. I did not use the little kitchen but it seemed very looked after.
Should I ever get back ti Ghent I would return to this B&B
- Tom (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a characterful house - A warm and friendly hostess, a spacious room with a comfortable bed - I slept like a log - and all the conveniences you could reasonably expect. Breakfast was generous too. I would happily stay here again.
- Oğuz (7/5): Good - Hotel accepts payment as cash or bank transfer. It would be better if i could pay my accommodation with my bank /credit card.
- Lucas (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Lovely room and a lovely landlady. - My room was more like an apartment than a hotel room with 2 armchairs, a tv and en suite shower. Renee spoke good English and was really helpful. She messaged me a few days in advance to warn me about the Ghent LEZ charge. I could park my motorcycle directly on the pavement outside the front door. A pleasant 15 minute walk to the city centre.
- Rafał (10/5): I recommend this place! - Very kind, welcoming and helpful host, comfortable room and great price. Not far from the center of the beautiful Gent!
- Florian (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (8/5): Very good -
- Hasan (9/5): Superb - there is a bus station a few meters to the right of the building or you can walk to the center in about 20 minutes. The personal is welcoming and helpful. ı would stay here again.
- Anna-carina (5/5): Passable - very kind and welcoming host. great location. nice room to a green, quiet backyard.
room equipped with all basics though some things are a bit old.
the old building has it's charm. it wasn't clear to us from the booking website that also with a private bathroom, this bathroom is not in the room, but one always has to cross the hallway to get there.
floors could have been a bit cleaner, I wasn't comfortable walking barefoot in the room or to the bathroom. but the owner told us she will watch out for this better in the future.
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Sasa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lodici (6/5): Pleasant - The place and the room are a bit old, but the woman managing everything is nice and helpful
- Daniel (10/5): Friendly host and spacious room with high ceilings - Very spacious old house with lots of character and high ceilings. Host Renée was very friendly and helpful.
- Doony (7/5): It's okay - Renèe is a wonderful hosteller, kind and welcoming. Tea and coffee in the room, kitchen in the hall. Quiet and warm room. Close to the railway and bus station. Everything is old, wooden furniture and floor creaks, not very clean. Narrow bed.
- Iuliia (9/5): Nice stay - Really cozy, like you visit your grandma ❤️ The host were very friendly The blankets were synthetic and it is not so comfortable, because I am used to use cotton blankets.
- Noemi (10/5): Perfect option in Gand! - The B&B Het Rommelwater was an excellent choice for staying in Gand! The room was cozy, very well taken care of, and clean. Renèe is delightful and I felt extremely welcome. The position is perfect for exploring Gand by feet or bike. I had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend!
- Goutham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barandereli (4/5): Disappointing - Kind host Didn't feel cosy and clean
- Johannes (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristina (7/5): Good - Comfortable bed, kettle in the room. Not very clean, clogged sink.
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liezel (7/5): Good - 1. Host is accommodating, she also helped me carry my one large luggage when i was about to check-out since the stairs are steep.
2. The ambiance of the room is very cozy.
3. I liked that they are energy conscious. Host made a reminder to turnoff/lower the heater of the room when not used. 1. When cars pass infront of the building, it feels not very comfortable inside the room. Because somehow the room shakes or the bed shakes every time a car passes in front.
2. There's an odd smell when you just got out from the room - smells like from dogs or cats, i cant figure out exactly.
3. Wooden stairs are very steep and it create crackling sounds when you walk, so you need to be careful for your own safety and be mindful not to disturb other tenants.
4. No available shampoo and/or conditioner.
- Neil (8/5): Very good - Renee very helpful and good communication both before and during stay.
A great base to explore all Ghent has to offer
- Somogyi (9/5): Superb -
- Dario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roger (9/5): Superb - Cute room and a nice hostess. The breakfast was provided in a good old style. WiFi is poor.
- Geraldine (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (10/5): Charming B&B - This is a charming little B&B. I had a room on 2nd floor, with private bathroom. It was cozy, clean, warm and I left here well rested. The building with history, even if it's tight in hallway space (need to be careful with your bags on the stairs) gives good vibes from the moment you enter and the rooms are spacious. Renée, the host, is really kind and welcoming, provided me with everything I needed. Really a good place to stay here in Gent for the price. It's close to Gent Dampoort train station, less than 10 min away and about 15 min from old town center.
- Innocent (8/5): Good stay, I enjoyed it and recommend - The cozy room was quite good, the location was excellent near public transport .The value of the room was worthit. Very helpful and informative host. I recommend However the furniture is too old and need replacement. Breakfast is served a little bit late. Only starting from 8:15a.m and the money requested for it was too high compared with its quality
- Irongustav (7/5): Good value B&B, friendly host, good location. -
- Priyanka (7/5): Good -
- Mehmet (9/5): a place for calm, quiet and nice stay - -very comfortable bed
-very calm and quiet room
-5min walk to ghent-dampoort train station which has direct trains to antwerp, and connecting trains to brussels airport
-12min walk to old town
-very nice breakfast
-tea, coffee and kettle in the room -poor wifi
- Jackline (9/5): It was a excellent stay. Thank you for welcoming me in the night and making me feel at home. - The rooms looked small but had everything, Renee was an exceptional kind, and the location was great especial the bus transport accessibility, I did not take breakfast because am not a breakfast person. Next time soap should be in the room, there should be clear communication that you come along with your shampoo and shower gel/soap.
- William (8/5): Very good -
- Katarzyna (8/5): Very good - The room was clean, tea and coffee in the room, very nice owners, location a few minutes walk from the center. The weather was above 30 degrees celsius so it was awfully warm in the room.
