Guest Reviews
- Karin (1/5): Worst Stay I've experienced in over 50 Countries. - The location is beautiful, right off the water. Well curated minus the Christmas Decor in May. Their stairs were broken so I couldn't use the deck, hot tub, SUP, or Kayaks. This was not disclosed even during check-in. The TV also did not work so they had to move me to another room & tried to charge me more. The owner would not come down as I was told he was too busy to deal with me. The stairs were not fixed the next day as promised so I asked for a discount. Their solution was give me half off the 2nd night to leave immediately. Wow! I said that was not acceptable so the man said he would reimburse me in full for the night, then screamed at me and hung up. I rang the doorbell to drop off the key and they wouldn't answer so I had to go back downstairs again. I was also lied to by the daughter Ann several times. It was a disaster. Also if anyone has any mobility problems this would be an impossible B&B to stay at. The disrespect and unprofessional behaviour was unacceptable. I would highly suggest you look at removing this property from your inventory or keeping an extremely closes eye on the owners. FYI I did a video as I was leaving to show I left the key & the room was impeccable. This was a first for me but I do not trust this family. I'm extremely well travelledI and have made so many friends from B&B's and travel so this was a first and absolutely the worst!!!!

- Elisa (10/5): -
- Bent Skaaning (6/5): - Pænt sted, dårlige til engelsk, dårlige p.forhold, meget isoleret ingen vandre muligheder. Se ovenfor
- Matthias (10/5): -
- Loraine (4/5): A very unpleasant experience. This is not a normal/typical B&B. Customer service is lacking! - Outside of property and Lakeview is very nice. However .... read further! 1. New B&B owners falsely use the names of the old owners from several years ago (Rebecca and Terry). The new owners are Vietnamese and the actual on-site “manager” does not speak English and relies on his 10 year old daughter to communicate with guests. On-site manager was never available and not accommodating!
2. Odd breakfast. It was Pho (a broth soup with noodles and some kind of sliced meat ... possibly beef or pork). We asked for some toast & peanut butter or an egg but the 10 year old daughter said her father "manager" was not available and had nothing else to offer us for breakfast. Also on first day arrival the our room was hot and we asked for a fan but the father did not make himself available and we never got the fan.
3. The website makes no mention of the difficulty getting to your room. You have to go through a very tight/narrow passage way on the side of the house and walk (sideways) to get your luggage through, then have to go down about 15 steps to the lower level where the rooms are. Quite difficult if you have any ailments like bad knees like my husband.
4. Worse part for me was that all the lines had a horrible odor! Our face cloths, hand & bath towels, sheets, pillowcases stunk! They smelled of dank musky odor with a very strong floral smelling fabric deodorizer or softener! Quite nauseating and kicked in my asthma. It’s time to invest in new towels & lines and use a good cleaning detergent and ditch the equally offensive floral deodorizer which didn't camouflage the bad smell anyway.
5. FYI - if you should need a refund make sure you book & pay through Booking.com and not directly at the B&B (in person) otherwise you can’t get a refund via Booking.com and the B&B owners will not refund you! Booking.com said they tried to contact the B&B to get us a refund but they were unable to reach B&B, however, I was able to contact the B&B by email and they refused to give us a refund.
- Debra (8/5): - Beautiful location. A few to many plastic flowers
- Clive (9/5): -
- Hana (8/5): Obdobné dojmy jako v dalšilch komentářilch. Pěkné místo, ubytování změnilo majitele, ssi nečte komentáře:). - prostorný apartmán, výhled na jezero, možnost plavání a půjčení
kanoe. neoznačený dům, hledání majitele, obtížná
komunikace/ nerozumi anglicky/.
- Matthew (8/5): -
- Floriane (10/5): - Parfait du début a la fin, bed and breakfast de haute qualité, et pour un tarif plus que correct en BC. Gros plus la vue et la dispo des kayaks pour une balade sur le lac. RAS
- jason (3/5): - the lake, access to canoes and dock views poor access to the room with our bags
- STEPHEN (9/5): -
- Petr (10/5): Sem bych klidně přijel znovu, doporučuji svým pratelům - Exlentni misto, super jezero, fantastické koupání, výborná výřivka, super hostitele (ti byli na A++ !!!) Nic
- Сирота (10/5): Exceptional - "This was the best all-inclusive vacation — and even more! If I could, I’d give it 10 stars. The hosts are warm, sincere, and everything is top-notch. To be honest, the price is too low for such luxury, with everything included and breathtaking views. Thank you sincerely!"
- Lisa (9/5): Perfect getaway on the lake - Loved the location and amenities. The family was so accommodating. Just had to be cautious parking in and out on the dead end street.
- Macdonald (5/5): Beautiful spot but very disappointed - Amazing view being right on the lake. The room was roomy and clean. Lots of options for outdoor seating. Nice to have a kayak or canoe to use and outdoor hot tub. The property has 3 parking stalls. Fortunately we were the only ones staying there because 3 vehicles would not fit especially if someone had a truck. Absolutely no room to back out if you are a truck. The only contact we had with the owners was the very young daughter who answered the door and took us to our room. There was no options for breakfast and not even asked if we had any allergies. The breakfast was very sub par. First morning we had a scrambled egg surrounded by a store bought eggo and a few slices of orange. The second morning was a stale Kaiser bun with a slice of raw salmon on it with a bowl of orange and apple slices slices. The website never mentioned that to get to your room it is a lot of stairs. I currently have mobility issues so that would been good to know about the many stairs. The hot tub although nice to have wasn’t fully functional.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (7/5): Good - Beautiful location, room was nice Bed was old and unsupportive, open concept bathroom not ideal.
- Peter (5/5): Not quite like our expectation - The host was very friendly. We chose the B&B at the end of a tour through the wilderness of Vancouver Island to enjoy nature at a beautiful lake-side. Actually, the lakeside terras has a view on the highway and houses at the overside of the lake. Also, we were surprised by the Chinese decoration of the location, which is not corresponding the photo’s at booking.com. The host was very friendly, however merely understood the English language. His young daughter had to translate. We were not sure whether he was the owner or administrator. The whole neighbourhood seems to transform into a more Asian neighbourhood, something we did not expect. The breakfast took some getting used to.
- Yiyang (8/5): Good for a place to consider as a home, not a perfect place to enjoy the nature! - I enjoy the delicate breakfast The entry confused me a little bit
- Don (10/5): Excellent stay, well equipped and can’t beat the views. - Loved the location, room was large and had everting one might need and more. Great hot tub, lakefront, very nice, thoughtful breakfasts. Maybe too much stuff outside, too many plastic toad stools, animals and arches. Less plastic hiding nature.
- William (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ewa (8/5): Great location at the lake was worth the drive - The ability to be at the lake during this heat wave was a blessing. The breakfast was great and in time. The stairs to the lake was a bit of a challenge and the entrance to the lake was very unpleasant
- Patricia (7/5): Good - Free kayaks, view of lake A bit cluttered
- Jose (9/5): Need to improve breakfast offering - Lake front Poor breakfast choices
- Olga (9/5): Superb - Very welcoming and clean. Location was brilliant. Dietary needs could have been considered for breakfast
- Josef (6/5): Pleasant - We stayed in the King's Suite, which was very spacious and very well equipped, with a large, comfortable bed and a view of the lake. There is also a communal room with a dining table for 6 persons. Somewhat surprisingly, the common room also contained a large illuminated plastic snowman (in July), Christmas lights, plus a gold reindeer and an ornamental bird cage on the balcony...
The lakeside was well equipped, with a jacuzzi, two kayaks and a canoe, plus life jackets - all free to use. Our room contained a large bath/jacuzzi. Unfortunately, the jacuzzi hasn't been used for a while and when it was turned on, it spewed out bathroom mold into the water. The room appeared clean, but the sheets were unironed and the pillows were very hard.
It appears that the owner has changed recently; the facility seems to be in the hands of a management company and the (very pleasant) resident owner/caretaker (?) speaks essentially no English, so we communicated through his little daughter.
We were served an omelette for our first breakfast with no bread. We don't eat cooked breakfasts and asked if we could have only bread and jam the next day, but received a terse response from the management that the breakfasts are complementary and cannot be changed. The next day's breakfast was what looked like a ham and cheese bun covered with some yellow sauce...
One potential problem is access. The house is built into a steep hillside and access is through a narrow "fairy cave" passage between the rock and the house, followed by a steep staircase to the rooms, which is tough to negotiate with heavy luggage.
- Jacob (10/5): I really enjoyed my time this weekend. Can’t say rnough about the beauty and service of the owners. Amazing!!! -
- Fernando (9/5): Superb - It almost felt like we had the entire place for ourselves for most of our stay. Using the hot tub with the gorgeous lake view in the background will be something to remember. Room was big and comfortable. The AC worked perfectly and was very welcome for hot days. Hosts live in the place upstairs and promptly responded to any requests. They gave us a lot of space and were always smiling. Free kayak/stand-up paddle were a great addition. Was a bit confused when I arrived as there is no actual "reception", but host quickly showed up and took us to our room. Breakfast could have a bit more options (jam, bread, etc.).
- Caitlin (10/5): Exceptional - Our family of four enjoyed a weekend at the lake. swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, hot tub were all wonderful. Staff were responsive to our questions and even helped to send s book we left there! with the extra cot for our second son it was a bit crowded but we made it work.
- Kristin (9/5): Lovely lakefront B&B - The lake is beautiful, and the bathtub and hot tub were great. It's a bit of a drive to downtown (about 10-15 minutes).
- Sara (9/5): spacious suite and fantastic view and amenities. - The room and property was beautiful! breakfast was very good and the presentation was nice. we had everything we needed and if we needed anything more the family was responsive and helpful. We will be back! the only thing that was disappointing is that the hot tub when we tried using it the jets shot out loads of dirt and even after a 2-3 times draining and trying to get it clean it was still unusable. however, I was compensated for this and the property management was very respectful and apologetic for this hiccup. they also have a hot tub on the deck area so we could use that.
- Mrs. (4/5): New ownership is very disappointing - The location. The house is right on the water, you have access to a dock, kayaks, a canoe, lawn chairs and a hot tub right overlooking the water. We had absolutely no reception upon arriving, if it hadn't been for the fact that we had been there before, we would not have known where to go or how to check in. They basically don't speak English. New owners are nothing like the previous owners. The breakfasts were beyond bad. Won't go back unfortunately, because it is a great location
- Meghan (8/5): Very good - Dock set up was very nice, nice atmosphere and lights around the property. Use of hot tub and watercrafts was excellent. Very quiet and relaxing. Tv stopped working halfway through our first night, told staff and nothing was done/said about same. Breakfast hotdog sausage was also not out favorite choice, rest of the breakfast was great though.
- Deeonna (10/5): If you stay here once you want to come back again. - There isn’t much to not like about the property, while I have my morning coffee with my husband we get a wonderful view of the lake, and the tranquility of nature that surrounds it. The only thing to say is a bit of a bother is the small ringing you hear when you first arrive, I assume it’s for pests or bats but the noise digs deep into the skull. Once you get around the property it’s gone.
- Cameron (6/5): Loved the location and to be able to sit on the dock and enjoy the lake - The fruit was very nice. We didn’t care for the rest of the food and didn’t eat it. Mold in shower and tub jets. Lots of hair in shower drain that we had to remove.
Lumpy squeaky bed.
Excessive fluffy decor - dusty and dirty
Not enough insulation between floor levels
- Bell (10/5): Great private relaxing location. - Beautiful property, unique and private, amazing area, clean large rooms and delicious food, great all around. .
- Joann (8/5): Beautiful Lake very nice host - location towels didn’t seem fresh but they were clean
- Anonymous (5/5): bad breakfast old bed that you fall off of in the night and squeaky headboard not to mention the Christmas decorations e - location on lake the breakfast was horrible better off leave the breakfast out hot dogs for breakfast what is that
- Sarah (9/5): wonderful stay! literally everything you need is here- stunning view - hot tub, canoes, lake view, location, sweet staff, breakfast parking hard to get out especially when multiple cars are there, check in was confusing
- Geraldine (8/5): Very good -
- Hayley (6/5): Was ok but not worth $261 a night unfortunately. would have preferred to pay less and not have a breakfast. - location was exceptional and gorgeous being lakeside. lovely relaxing place to stay.
Great having AC in the unit and access to water activities. Bed was hard and uncomfortable, needs at least a 3” memory foam topper on it which would make it a lot better.
No creamer options in unit to make coffee and barely any milk given for coffee at breakfast, creamer would have worked with the amount given but not milk. Breakfast wasn’t great, apart from the fruit.
Whole unit was on a slant so a bit strange to walk around in.
