Guest Reviews
- Nazli (10/5): - Great location great service very clean and quite
- Franzisca (9/5): - Super freundlicher Empfang, schönes Haus, grosse Gemeinschaftsküche, Stuck an Decke, bequemes Bett, Kamin, hohe Fenster, Bademantel (!), Oropax auf Nachtisch :) Sehr laute Nachbarinnen, sehr ringhörig und laute Türen
Ma chambre no 20, était bien placée et tranquille.
- Claudia (9/5): - Freundlicher Empfang, sehr gute Lage nahe beim Bahnhof
- Milica (10/5): Pleasant stay for one night - The location is great, especially if you need to catch an early train to the airport, as it is very close to the station. I felt very safe in the pension, and the staff were delightful and welcoming. Please note that, due to its proximity to the train station, the area can become noisy from the trains passing by. I would recommend bringing the earplugs.

Terrible. Me fui. Mi habitación no tenía baño.
- Madeleine (9/5): -
- Elaine (1/5): Address not legit - This location didn't exist. Not being able to contact the property and not being contacted the next day.
(9/5): Superb - The room was comfortable and beautiful. I had a relaxing time. After sunset, the music outside was noisy, but it was quiet during the night. After check-out (at 7:30), they kept my luggage until 19:00, which was helpful.
(9/5): Superb - I was given a free transportation pass in Lausanne, and I had no problems with Wi-Fi or drinking water. The toilets and shower rooms were shared, but I never had to use them at the same time as other guests. The cleanliness was not a problem, and the room was clean. It's in front of the station, so the train sounds were a little loud, but it was very quiet at night.
- Pamela (7/5): Extremely convenient for women travelling through Lausanne; I'd be pleased to stay there again. - The Pension Bienvenue is very close to Lausanne Station, and so highly convenient.
Mme Moret was warm, welcoming and extremely kind.
There was clear information given about the Pension and surrounding facilities.
My room was spacious and clean, with a long balcony.
The shared facilities were good, including the showers and loo.
I was given a free travel pass for the Lausanne area - an excellent touch. It was rather a surprise to find that my room was on the third floor. I had quite a heavy case, and hadn't realised there would be no lift. However, I was very grateful for the help I received.
There was considerable noise from the railway, but with the windows closed I slept (to my surprise!) very well.
- Susan (10/5): Travelling alone ? Female ? This is most definitely the place to stay in Lausanne ! - If you are travelling alone, this is the place to stay. It is a short walking distance from the railway station with easy access for late arrivals. The spacious room was immaculately clean and although the facilities were shared, there was no waiting to use the shower. The staff I met were incredibly pleasant, kind and helpful but the main reason for staying here is that it is completely safe if you're a female travelling alone. Absolutely nothing to improve on.
- Marije (9/5): charming and friendly pension - A personal touch and homely feel. Convenient location and charming building. Friendly staff. Thoughtful that bathrobes were provided. No shampoo available in the shared bathroom (even though indicated)
- Emma (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- Tatjana (9/5): Superb -
- Min-hua敏華 (9/5): Superb - Near Train station rear exit , kitchen No elevator
- Peggy (10/5): Recommended women-only accomodation 👍 - Women-only accomodation. Very close to the train station and very central location. Room was very nice and clean. Everything was provided and had a really nice and comfortable stay. The staff were really nice too. Not complaining, but heads-up that there are no elevators.
- Lara (8/5): Decent place to stay as a solo travelling woman in Lausanne - Very clean, spacious room, warm and friendly welcome and free metro card Arrival times are a bit challenging when travelling for work, bathroom, kitchen and washing rooms are shared, but all was clean.
- Charlotte (6/5): Pleasant and cheap for the location, but not a good night’s sleep guaranteed - It was nice to have a fully equipped kitchen at my disposal, although without any cutlery it wasn’t much use… I knew the property was right by the station but could t have imagined it being quite so loud… the trains are constant including through the night. Earplugs are a must, but the sound still gets through.
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect place to stay near station and close to lake. - Location was perfect - next to station but also quiet.
- Tetiana (10/5): Would love to come here again. - Close to the railway station. Except of the trains, ita a quiet neighbourhood with a few supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and kebab places in just 1-3 minutes walk. The room was big and cozy and staff is friendly and understanding. You can even see a little bit of France from the window, from the upper floors. And they have a laundry room!!!
- Sally (8/5): Very clean well equipped property . Friendly helpful staff and excellent location - Very central. Lovely old building with excellent facilities Trains are noisy as adjacent to the train station even with ear plugs !
- Maria (9/5): Safe, clean, close to the train station. Perfect for a train trip. - We stayed for a while waiting for our train in the late afternoom. Perfect place :-) third floor without elevator. If you come with heavy luggage ask for a room in a lower floor.
- Alicia (8/5): Very good - I liked the location, it was well heated, it was easy to find and to get comfy there, it was clean and cosy, the staff was very responsive with emails. the train vibrations sometimes as it is near the train station but at least with the windows closed and the earplugs I didn't hear that much and I could still sleep
- Manon (8/5): Very good -
- Maya (9/5): Superb -
- Mihaela (8/5): Good value for money, clean and super close to the train station. - Very close to the train station. Good value of money. I think one doesnt stay here for luxury, but rater for the affordability. My room was spacious and the high ceiling made it look even bigger. Bathroom was cleaned each day. Did not use the kitchen besides making a cup of tea. I manage to break the water caraf by accident and the administrator was kind to not make me pay for it.
- Maxime (9/5): Superb -
- Theresa (9/5): Superb -
- Annika (8/5): Perfect stay for women, on work or leisure trip. - Charming old building with big rooms, high ceilings etc.
Extremely well located just south of the train station.
The check-in and service was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Be prepared to hear the trains at night.
- Teodora (7/5): Good -
- Kela (5/5): Passable -
- Barbara (8/5): Overall, it is good value for the money and Mdm. Moret is lovely. I would consider staying again. - The location of this pension is excellent. Right beneath the train station in Lausanne. It is right on the tracks, but I didn't find the noise to be an issue (the provide ear plugs).
The woman who runs the pension is lovely. She speaks only French, but manages to communicate with everyone. She is super helpful and will do anything for you. When I arrived, I couldn't unlock my bag and she helped me to find a solution.
The space is really comfortable and very clean. The bed was also comfortable (not too soft). There are plenty of showers and hot water was not a problem. The only drawback of this pension is that is has no elevator and the ceilings in this old building are very high, so there are a lot of stairs. My room was on the third floor and getting my luggage up there was not easy (although Mdm. Moret carried it up the first time).
The only other negative aspect is that the wifi didn't work on the third floor, so I had to come down a floor to be able to communicate.
- Elize (10/5): A wonderful option for short or long stay in an expensive city in Switzerland - Women’s only pension with friendly owner / manager nothing
- Maggie (8/5): Good choice for single female travelers - quiet, clean and central location, fee safe shower place could be more comfortable
- Clara (10/5): Would stay there again. Best option for women, especially when travelling alone. - Very close to the train station, comfortable room and clean facilities.
- Hilanne (1/5): Bad -
- Barbara (9/5): Superb - location, cosy room I don't have anything
- Silvia (10/5): Nice, cozy and clean - The room was very cozy, the common areas were very clean and nice. The location right next to the train station is very convenient The place could get little bit noisy because of the trains passing. It didn't affect me but I can see how it can affect people who are more sensitive to noise. They offered earplugs, so it shouldn't be a problem!
- Maria (10/5): very nice - Very nice, cozy, clean and warm room. just some steps away from the train station.
- Blandine (9/5): Superb -
- Gomez (7/5): Good -
- Rosario (10/5): Exceptional - It was peaceful and homely. And close to the train station.
- Wonyoung (3/5): Poor - There was no key all day in the keybox even though I opened it right and host was not anwsering almost whole day. Thanks to my friend -which took several hours- and booking.com’s help i finally could get in the room late night,
but there is no apology at all until now.
I could not make with my schedules and the purpose of the trip to Lausanne since I stopped by the place several times to check the keybox, and should wait with big worries that I might loose the place to sleep until late night. Though the lady who gave me a key at the end was kind and bed itself was neat, the information was also not enough for english speakers for using the facilities.
- Inessa (3/5): Poor -
- Lena (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elena (8/5): Very good - The nicest place, feels like home. Nice staff, comfortable bed, great position Toilet and bathroom services could be improved
- Maria (6/5): Pleasant -
- Claire (6/5): Pleasant - I liked the location, close to the train and the city center. Also the room was nice, quite big, clean and nicely decorated. I did not like at all the communication with the hotel...I received the code for the lock box with keys so that was fine but I asked them to leave the transport card in the room, as we pay the city tax we have a right for this card. I was told that the card will be in the room, which was not the case. I also did not have any information about the hotel, where the bathrooms are located, where is the common room, where is the kitchen, no information at all about the checkout procedure, if I should leave the keys in the room or back to the lock box, no information about the wifi code...nothing. When I sent messages I had no answer, they even did not contact me later to kind of explain why they did not provide the card and any other information. I was there during the weekend so I suppose when you come during the week and the reception is open they give you this information but I was not informed about anything. My room was on the third floor completely on the other side as the showers, there are no signs where the showers are, I had no idea that there is a kitchen as it was on a different floor, I found out only next day...these are information that they need to provide when they know that the reception is closed...
Also it was very loud, it is close to the train station so I was aware that it will be loud from outside and this was not really an issue, but the isolation from other rooms and hallway is very bad so I could hear everything and that was quite annoying...every time someone was walking on the hallway or used the toilet I could hear that, same as if it was in my room.
So if you want to stay in Lausanne for one night and you don't have other choice go on, otherwise for couple of days I would recommend to stay elsewhere. Me personally I wont stay here again, if it would be only loud I would accept it, but I did not like at all the communication and ignorance from the hotel management.
- Raghda (1/5): Terrible. Worst owners. Bad place - NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. I booked my night to stay at the property in weekend. I received an email from the property stating that they will not be present at the property to give me the keys and that they will send an email stating the keys location 3 days prior my arrival. I sent them two emails but no reply and this resulted in arriving at the property’s door but having no access to my room because the door is locked. I had no italian SIM card and a stranger helped me call the owners but they did not reply. The stranger called booking.com and they gave us the passcode for the key’s lock. Haven’t I met that stranger, i should’ve spent the night at the police station reporting them. The following day I found the housekeeping lady and asked her to call the owner, she did but the owner decided to shout and speak only in French despite telling her to contact me either in English and Italian. I checked in at 9:00 pm and they forced me to abide by the checkout rule of leaving by 10:30 am which is non sense. Such a terrible place to stay at. I don’t recommend at all. Shame, big SHAME!
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Deanne (9/5): Warm, welcoming, simple place to call home. - Fabulous warm welcome for which I was grateful as due to accidents on the road my 17h00 arrival was actually delayed to 19h15 (and she was supposed to close up at 1900). Muito obrigada!
Grateful for the kitchen where I could make coffee and the living room area that I could use until my early afternoon departure the next day.
Nice little neighborhood to take a relaxing walk in with some cafes to eat at and boutiques to browse round in. I forgot there wasn't a lift...but I survived walking up 3 flights with my suitcase - smile.
Also, it is near the train station so you will hear the noise of trains - which I didn't mind.
- Maria (7/5): Good for one affordable night in the centrum - The host of the pension was very kind and flexible and it was great to have a quite large own room so close to the main station and city centre. The hotel is right beside the train tracks so I heard and felt trains coming by until late. Also, within the house, you could hear a lot.
- Irene (8/5): Very good -
- Noémie (9/5): Superb -
- Ada (6/5): Perfect and quiet location just few steps from the railway station and metro to Quchy). - Location. Availability and friendliness of the staff, Kitchen. Excellent tea bags in the room. Carpet in the room and dusty curtains.
