Guest Reviews

- Chrisje (8/5): Heel vriendelijke gastvrouw - Gezellige plek, goed gelegen, heel schoon. Niets.
- Danielle (8/5): Leuk stekkie - Sfeer, gezelligheid, personeel
- Sonia (7/5): -

- Buckley (8/5): Great little place h - Lovely place a short walk from town. It was great to have air con and the pool to cool down. I was in the standard double 🦥. Everything was great. There was a bit of a mixup where a lovely couple were given my room number and key and were surprised by me having an afternoon nap 😂
- van zijl (10/5): - Just love the place
- Leandra (10/5): - First of all, we were welcomed by the owner Teresa with so much love. She made sure that we feel good and got everything we needed. If she didn't know anything she asked around and helped a lot, so she was my favourite part of it. Second, it was very clean and well taken care of. Just know that the walls are thin as most places and I needed plugs for my ear to not hear anything and then I slept like a baby. Thanks again for everything Nothing
- Carlos (7/5): - Las Amacas
- Chelsea (6/5): - The pool was nice. Location was ok. Host was kind, give good recommendations. Nice kitchen. The parking lot gate needed a fix,it was hard to close. It was so heavy and not beside the hotel. The bed was not the best. It was not a soundproof room . You can hear everything from the pool and kitchen from the room.
- Ahmet (9/5): - Personel harika Oda duvarlarının ses yalitımı yok
- Fabián (6/5): - Limpieza
- William (9/5): - This is a wonderful place to stay! We loved our air conditioned room and the pool where we could cool off after exploring in the heat. The outdoor kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups, etc. There were tables to eat at in the common area. The gate where you park your car! At 76 and 80 years old, it was a struggle everytime that we wanted to get the car out.
- Chavafia (1/5): PESIMO!
- Noé (10/5): - Cool pool, nice kitchen, sweet owner.
- franck (8/5): -
- Merrilee (10/5): Exceptional - The staff and owners were all helpful, friendly people. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped. The cat was very special.
Birdwatching from the upper deck overlooking the back jungle clearing was very rewarding with comfy hammocks and chairs.
The pool is amazing with waterfall and colored lights. The perfect cool down. There was nothing that I didn't like. The hostel is a walk from town because it is in the jungle, but I think less than 2 kilometers to bank, shops and restaurants, and to the malecom. It was very pleasant to be lodging away from city bustle.
- Blaine (10/5): Unique clean, safe, and very reasonably priced. - We received great detailed information about the checkin prossess and assistance from the owners mother. What a lovely design for a hostel/apartment style accommodation. A beautiful clean refreshing pool. Nice sized rooms, good kitchen area. Staying here gave us opportunities to meet the travelers from Costa Rica and from around the world. We took a 15 minute walk to downtown Quepos and the park/walkway at sunset and explored the interesting places to eat. We loved everything about this place. However, wherever we stay, we are prepared for noisy environments. Bringing earplugs is a good idea. Wind animal and bird noises sometimes other people talking can keep you awake if you want to retire early. Some young people there were talking and laughing in the common area but were respectful and were quiet by 10 PM. We enjoyed this but some people might not.
- Oana (5/5): Passable -
- Margarita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marlo (8/5): Very good - Nice pool, very kind host Dogs barking as well as noisy other guests waking us up in the morning
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Olle (8/5): Very nice place with great host - Very nice place with knowledgeable host. Shared kitchen for those who like to cook. Closest restaurant is a hot 15 minutes walk.
- Dallas (7/5): Good -
- Aneta (10/5): Definitely recommended place to stay - The pool! Is amazing to have a pool after coming back from manuel antonio park (the park closes at 3 pm). The container rooms are quite small but enough for a couple, we had an aircon and didn't mind it at all. The kitchen is well equipped and bonus - you can see animals from the pool (we saw a few ara parrots right from the pool). Very secure parking included with the room. The staff / owner are nearby to help if needed. Wifi is fast and stable People are mentioning it - it is like 10 - 15min walk to restaurants or supermarket. We had a car, didn't mind it one bit.
- Tange (10/5): Great experience in a fun place. - It was a really cute and unique place. Tere was wonderful and helped us out with check in and explained everything thoroughly. The balcony was wonderful and lots of birds visited in the morning. Could have used some more signage- We stopped at the parking garage but should have been up by the property. Not a big deal but a little sign saying check in ahead would have been helpful.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Staff is great! The rooms with shared bathrooms are a bit small and doesn’t air very well, but ok for the price.
- Donald (7/5): This was a nice, reasonable, timely (for us) location near where we wanted to be with pool/laundry. - This was an eclectic stay as they used old containers, that likely fell off a ship somewhere (so good that they aren't still 'out there') to build a site such as this. Terri, was super friendly and accommodating. Their little pool was fun as well. It is really 'off the beaten path' so once you're there, you're there. It's tough getting your car in and out of this little lane-way and there's barking dogs everywhere, but there are everywhere in CR (Costa Rica) anyway. At least no roosters. I'd go back in a New York minute.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloé (9/5): Superb - Very cheap for a group
Clean
Pool was good A bit too noisy
Overall great overnight stop
- Niculici (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eline (9/5): Nice little getaway for a night or 2 - Beautiful outdoors,
Owners nice and helpful,
Right in the middle of the jungle, really feels like out of time and space
Bed comfy with fan 👌
Great pictures for Instagram xdddd A bit hard to find, indications a little tricky but still manageable!
Great for a night to disconnect, although it's not really walkable distance from downtown and points of interest
Lack of storage place in the room, not a single shelf (but I'm sure it can be fix pretty easily 😀)
- Francisco (7/5): Good - Price Too small
- Tui (8/5): Very good - The hostel was great, very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We liked that it was walking distance from town but on the outskirts in thr jungle. We saw mackaws and squirrels in the trees from the pool. The room was comfortable and had AC, the kitchen was well equipped and we loved the pool. We also loved the friendly cat. Not the fault of the hostel at all - but the people in the room next door arrived home from partying at 3am and were talking very loudly and then on the phone until 4:30/5am. The walls are thin so you can hear everything. Like I said, not the accomodations fault but just bring earplugs just in case.
- Suebee (9/5): Great location, very clean, wonderful owners! - A wonderful stay. Exceptionally clean. All my questions were responded to very quickly. I was allowed to check in early AND upgraded automatically for free to a lovely room with sliding glass doors & excellent A/C. I got a great recommendation for a seafood restaurant called Sabromar overlooking the ocean for sunset that was NOT priced for foreigners. The family that runs this is very sweet and stored my luggage after checkout so I could go snorkeling before my afternoon bus ride. They even let me shower after I came back to pick up my luggage. The best part of this place is the location, which is a leisurely walk to town, but removed enough from the hustle and bustle that it does in fact feel like a jungle retreat. Thank you! My bathroom was located next to the shared kitchen, and had windows that didn’t close (just screened). So, when other guests were up late chatting, I could hear them quite well. Maybe a noise curfew in common spaces could be helpful.
- Maria (7/5): Was really easy, the staff are so lovely and eager to help. Would stay again :) - The place is clean, kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need! Close walk to quepos and bus routes No hot showers, a cat that doesn’t belong to the hostel meows the whole night and tries to break into your room lol
- Barbora (7/5): Overall I would recommend, it is a nice place for good price, ideál for a short stay - Small pool available, jungle view, common area with good vibes
Clean Only one bathroom which was shared, the other one was not working, bathroom is the toilet with shower together. Rooms are really small, only bed fits in
- Simon_473 (10/5): Nice place to relax - Great garden with pool, hammocks, outdoor kitchen and great view into the rainforest. Aircondition available in most of the rooms. Location is quite remote, you need a car. Parking is available but dog escapes each time you open the gate to park your car.
- Andre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valérie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely accomodation close to Quepos and Manuel antonio. The price is very reasonable
The pool and gardens are beautiful. The kitchen is well equiped. The host's Mother came to greet us and she was the nicest person we met in costa rica ! Loved our stay here would highly recommend
- Mélody (10/5): Out of the Quepos noise - Great spot to relax and outside of the noise of Quepos center. Perfect to come by car. Nice container with a shared kitchen.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Oriol (8/5): Very good - Nice poo, kitchen, and chilling area. AC is great in the room since they are small and have no windows. The staff is friendly and helpful. Only 1 mid size bin in the common area for everything. Raccoons come at night and tear everything apart.
- Kathleen (7/5): Good - The staff is very nice and it's fairly close to town. The room is a bit noisy (not very sound proof) due to people in the kitchen and dogs barking at night.
- Cecilie (10/5): Great! - Such a great place, had a really good time! The place is a 10-15 minute walk from the city but its a great place to chill, there's good open areas to hang out and a nice small kitchen and a nice pool to cool down in.
The owners are so nice and welcoming, would definitely come back!
- Gabe (10/5): Great spot and I would highly recommend! - Super pretty and peaceful. Slightly far from downtown. But that also made it really quiet!
- Sebastian (10/5): The staff was amazing! Great place at a great price. - The pool, shared kitchen, lounging area, the monkeys and macaws in the trees behind the hotel.....
- Fabia (8/5): Very good -
- Tiffany (8/5): It had everything I needed as a solo traveler. - I liked the hosts. They were very friendly and made me feel like I was with family. I liked the pool- it was refreshing after a long, hot day. I really enjoyed the hammocks up on the roof that offered a beautiful, relaxing view in the evening. There is also a tree that a couple of red macaws like to visit every evening to feed on its fruit— it was really cool to witness. I didn’t like that the common area is right outside the rooms so if someone wakes up really early and does anything in kitchen, you can hear everything.
- Allison (5/5): Passable -
- María (8/5): Very good -
- Yuyú (10/5): Little paradise in the jungle - The location just besides the jungle, during the morning you can enjoy monkeys and birds playing on the trees. Tere, the owner of the place and her cousin were so nice to us and answered all our doubts about transportation. The kitchen is a plus because restaurants are quite expensive in the area. The small swimming pool was perfect to enjoy all day long. Nothing !
- Jordon (8/5): Lovely staff, comfortable and nice swimming pool! - The pool was lovely, the bed was comfortable, common space was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The design of the place overall is pretty cool! The location isn’t in the main town but we knew that already, it’s about a 10-15minute walk out of town this was something we didn’t mind as it felt more private and there was a lovely little pool to relax in and you are in part of the jungle! The accommodation hasn’t be running for too long and considering that as well, we had a good time overall. We had an issue with the noise on the first night as there were some people there who didn’t follow any of the rules to do with quiet times and were on a hen party. Sadly because of this we didn’t get any sleep which was a shame, we had booked the place because it wasn’t a party hostel and more relaxed. Important to note that the owners were very apologetic over this, they didn’t see on the cameras till the next day but I would say that there needs to be somebody on call as we couldn’t get hold of anybody because it was so late. Also as there are a lot of people sharing the two bathrooms I would say that cleaning needs to be about more frequent, just one of those things. The use of the storage containers are cool but defo not soundproof at all obviously and very hot if you didn’t have aircon which I think most of the rooms do?
- Benji (8/5): Very good -
- Mélanie (7/5): Exotic and good for making new connections with others. - There was no breakfast even if they said bed and breakfast. The rooms are small but we expected that, simce it's a container.
The kitchen and fridge were not really clean. The cleanness of kitchen
- Mayari (7/5): Good - The staff was nice and comprehensive, we asked them 2 extra requirements not included, and they were happy to help us. They had a pool. Also the bed matrix was confortable. And they had A/C It's a little noisy, the restrooms aren't the nicer ones. The location of the place is helpful mainly for ppl with a car, but that's fine with us.
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful place to rest and chill - It is very comfortable and cool place to chill and rest, beautiful view from inside nature
- Alexandr (8/5): Very good -
- Mccormack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (8/5): A very cute budget stay, great value for what it is. The room was nice and private, bathroom was clean. Rooftop terrace - Located right on the edge of the jungle away from city noise. Very pretty pool area. Only provided a thin sheet for sleeping which had stains on it, no blanket. Parking on the road, secure parking wasn’t available to us because the owners were out when we arrived (their mom checked us in, she was very friendly and sweet). Shower worked but only got luke warm, hot setting was broken.
- Magali (7/5): Great stopover for a night on the road to Manuel Antonio! - the container structure was cool, and it was quiet with no disturbances. The drive to Manuel Antonio was simple. The air conditioning in the room was a good addition, and the kitchen and bathrooms were useful and clean. There are hammocks to relax in and the general atmosphere of the place was relaxing. The host was really sweet, and the overall experience were great. Our room was pretty small, so if we had stayed for more than one night we would have wanted a little bigger. but it was perfect for a one night stop.
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Colette (8/5): Good Place for a Stopover - The manager Tere was fabulous. She was able to arrange an ATV tour for our family at the last minute. The tour was so fun. She also arranged for us to purchase breakfast from her neighbor. Typical tico breakfast wrapped in a banana leaf. Soft towels. Good AC. Very affordable. Not close to restaurants. We were only there on a stopover but Quepos is not a great town. People were trying to sell us drugs down by the waterside.
- Adams (8/5): Very good - There was a haven inside feeling safe secure and with all of our needs catered for. Kitchen area games ac and fan in very clean family room. Wonderful murals all around. Walk into town was easy and took 10 mins. Excellent value for money. Terri was incredibly helpful. The initial approach was slightly uncertain as outside door was locked and no one around and outside looked very basic.
- Vincent (10/5): nice! - we had a terrific stay in the 4 bunk jungle container. the AC was great, the community kitchen did the job, the jungle beyond the property brought us spider monkeys and all kinds of birds. the host was an allstar too. 20 minutes drive from manuel antonio. we enjoyed quepos as well. nice quite evenings. we had terrific neighbors sharing the space with us and the garden, community kitchen, extra showers, extra bathroom and extra space made for a roomy stay in small quarters i give this place all good reviews. i recommend they somehow title the many types of rooms they have in the photos so you know exactly what you are getting (the differences include a private kitchen, AC, balconies, space)...the parking is on a slim dirt street or a fenced in spot 5 shacks down. not too many guest during our stay so we snugged right out front thankfully....that being said, we had a great stay
- Finja (9/5): Superb - clean, good kitchen, AC, shower, cheap, clothing line, common area small room (4 bed room), clairaudient, location
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Tobiano (9/5): Great value. Would stay here again. - The owner was so nice and friendly. The Aircon was lovely and cold. I thought it was extremely good value for an accommodation in Quepos. It's about a 15min walk out of Quepos. And it's impossible to call an Uber there. So you have to walk to and from town which wasn't too bad or far but I started getting over it after a couple days as it was so hot. It's not a big concern and I would stay here again.
- Alexandra (9/5): We loved this affordable and welcoming place! - Great price for basics. Parking included. Friendly owner. Walls were thin.
- William (9/5): Superb - Staff were nice and helped us with travel and plans. outdoor kitchen was nice and spacious with lots of equipment and big fridge. areas to chill and do yoga if you wanted. rooms where a bit small but good for price but a bit hot with one fan at the time. the walk to jungle container is a bit far but we liked being further out from the town
- Sapir (9/5): Superb -
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - We really liked this hostel. The host is extremely friendly, and the layout/concept of the hostel is very unique and cool.
We spent 2 nights in Quepos and it was perfect. There is some old information online about this hostel not having parking, but that is outdated and there is in fact (plenty of) parking.
- Maikel (10/5): Exceptional - The owners of the jungle container are the kindest hostel owners we've encountered during our 4 months of travelling through central america. They helped us with our plans in the area around Quepos, drove us to town to get the bus, and were keen on getting to know us a little better during a chat in the evening. We felt very welcome, and appricated our stay here a lot.
- Hana (8/5): We were feeling in The Jungle Container very good. - The Jungle Container is nice place in the nature, near the forest, we could see and hear several kind of birds and hear the monkeys. The centre of Quepos is near and safe, good for the evening walks. The staff is pleasant and comunicative, Tereza is nice person, She helped us to realize our programme plans. No dislike.
