Guest Reviews
A limpeza geral é impecável. Para completar, o quarto tem uma mesa excelente para refeições ou trabalho, com tomadas acessíveis e uma conexão de internet muito boa. Não tenho absolutamente nada do que reclamar. Tudo foi ótimo!
- Jessica (10/5): A wonderful experience in an immaculate hotel. - The hotel is in a quieter part of town. The owners are welcoming and attentive. They assisted in arranging a night tour and hanging bridges tour. The breakfasts were delicious.
- Graham (8/5): Friendly owners - The place has a family feel and the owners are lovely (and very artistic). The breakfast was nice. The shower was cold, there was no window in our room, and the location was a little difficult as it was at the top of a very steep hill.
- Martin (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Very pleasant. - Breakfast was very good. Jovany and his mom were awesome hosts and very kind.
The place was very clean and homey.
- Gloria (9/5): Couple's first trip to Costa Rica - The bed was comfortable and the location was very close to downtown. It was very quiet in the room. The breakfast was delicious. The owner's mother was able to translate for us as we don't speak Spanish. They are lovely people. It is a very difficult to park and the road going up to their place, like many roads in the area are rough with lots of.potholes. Fortunately we rented a 4x4. If your vehicle doesn't have a lot of clearance you might have issues.
- Selva (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (8/5): Comfortable place and friendly owners - The property was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. They had laundry service which was super convenient. The owners were very friendly. The street to get there is quite bumpy and inclined, although not a problem if you have a 4x4.
- Quentin (9/5): A gorgeous room with lovely breakfast and charming owners - Such a beautifully run little place to stay with charming owners Theres nothing not to like!
- Andreapapp (10/5): Great stay - The hosts were very nice and helpful. The location was excellent, 5 mins away from the center. Also the breakfast was nice and plenty.
- Bobsk (10/5): Exceptional - The room was big and well stocked with toiletries. Breakfast was delicious. Joaquín and María were unbelievably helpful, calling taxis, and helping me find people in the area.
There's also an excellent restaurant around the corner. The hotel is up a very steep hill.
- Scott (9/5): Superb - The hosts were lovely people.
Breakfasts were amazing Would have liked somewhere to sit outside
It can be quite windy. We used white noise by our bedside on windy nights
- Mona (9/5): Wonderful stay in Monteverde. - The hosts took care of us like we were their family, making sure all our transportation was arranged and even calling one of our guides. The breakfasts were delicious. The beds were comfortable and the room was cozy. It was a short walk into town. The uphill on the way back is steep but manageable. Nothing
- Joni (10/5): Exceptional - Very hospitable hosts. Great breakfast cooked by the hosts. They had excellent coffee from their own coffee farm! We felt like at home for the 3-night stay.
- Yunxu (10/5): A nice bed and breakfast place - The host family is so lovely! Even though we had some communication difficulties due to my lack of ability to speak Spanish, they were very helpful!
- Barbara (10/5): The real Costa Rica family experience - A very homy and cozy environment. The family that runs this place is extremely welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. They helped me book some tours, arrange travel accommodations etc. The best part was waking up to a big healthy and tasty breakfast every morning. Would definitely bring my family here
- Tania (9/5): Superb - Very friendly owners in a fantastic location. Breakfast is cooked on demand and filling; I was there three nights and had three different breakfasts that were all delicious. Easy location close to the centre of town. Bathroom has that ‘bathroom smell’ but is clean.
- Edda (10/5): Great accommodation with very kind and helpful hosts, highly recommended -
- Sergio (7/5): Good - Breakfast
Staff
- Daniel (10/5): Fantastic. - Maria and Jacquin could not be more helpful. They booked all our tours and transport for us. Breakfast was amazing. The coffee served at breakfast is harvested a local farm is the best I've ever had.
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Uk_london (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic hoste, Maria is fabulous at making you feel welcome. Nothing.
- Zoe (10/5): Welcoming hosts, comfy, clean, great location - Superb staff - really helpful, friendly and welcoming.
Delicious breakfast.
Clean and comfortable room.
Location. Nothing
- Dickinson (10/5): Staying with a loving family! - The owners of Monte Los Lirios Lodge, was great. They are my new family in Costa Rica. Breakfast every morning, fresh fruit, fresh coffee served with a big smile. They also help you arrange transport to and from places. Early evening we will be sitting in the kitchen enjoying tea or coffee with some home made bread or a dessert with the owner and their children. One big happy family.I now have a new mom and dad in Costa Rica. Everything was great
- Ashlee (10/5): Great staff, location, and breakfast. - My friend and I had a great stay here. The owners are fantastic and are incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and very filling. They asked what types of activities we wanted to do and would set up shuttles that would pick us up from the lodge. They also organized a night tour for us, which was really fun. I loved the location, just a 10 minute walk outside the center, so it was peaceful. Heading the other way, it's a five minute walk to a great restaurant, produce market, large convenience store, and bakery. We didn't have a car and it was never a problem. I enjoyed Monteverde and my stay so much that I booked extra nights there and will be back in a few weeks as well. I highly recommend this place if you're visiting Monteverde.
- Martina (8/5): Very good -
- Close (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable, clean and quite. Hosts were very nice and friendly. ACCOMMODATIONS for the rate was suberb. And the breakfasts served two thumbs 👍. Just beautifully!! How to get around to the different locations without a rental car, for a senior it would suck to have to walk up and down plus distances to travel. But we aren't hikers. Nothing to do with the lodge we stayed at.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - A true gem of a place! Located up the hill without any noise from the city center. Beautiful, well maintained house and property. My room was very comfortable and clean. The hosts are the sweetest couple, very accommodating and hospitable. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and respond to my needs. They prepare breakfast every morning and helped me with my transportation to the Santa Elena Reserve and Fortuna. It’s like living with your grandparents in the best possible way. I highly recommend this place; especially if you are looking for a home away from home and like to learn about true Costa Rican hospitality.
- Barbara (10/5): Awesome little hotel and hosts - Joaquin and Mari were just so sweet and friendly and did everything they could to make our stay exceptional. They were helpful, caring and true hosts in every way. The breakfast was wonderful. The hotel was quiet and away from the busy roads, but easily walkable to town. I would definitely stay with them again.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Alain (10/5): Exceptional adress. Highly recommended - It's a bed and breakfast owned by Joaquin and Maria, a couple of senior Ticos very friendly. They always try to help their best. 13 rooms but some are used from long term clients.
It's a 5 mn walk from Monteverde center up a small hill. The room I occupied alone has a double bed and one single, was bright with a window looking to the garden, large and the double bed very comfortable. The large bathroom was also naturally well lit from the roof. Hot water. This room is well decorated with paintings from Maria herself. Strong Wi-Fi.
There is no noise at all. No dogs, no cars. The breakfast is personally cooked by Joaquin and Maria. It's delicious. This house is completely clean from floor to ceiling.
These lovely people can give some tips and help for transportation.
Quality and price incredible.
They told me they are renovating the family rooms, puting new windows.
- Drew (5/5): Make sure you get a room with a window - The room was very clean and breakfast was tasty. Breakfast order was given to the hosts the day before and came with a nice plate of fruit. Location was about a 5-7 minute walk to the downtown of Santa Elena, but that walk is a tough uphill on the way back. Our biggest complaint is that we were put in a room with no window to the outside. We had one window, but that opened up to the living room. This gave us no control at all of the temperature of our room, as there is no air conditioning or even a fan. We often felt trapped and the room was hot and stuffy for us. We went over Christmas, and maybe it was just a hot few days. If the description of the room said we had no window to the outside, I would not have booked the room. I did see two other rooms that were nicer than ours and did have a window, so if we had one of those rooms, maybe my review would be higher. The tv didn’t turn on in our room and it was extremely difficult to get hot water in the shower, it was like cracking a safe with how you needed to move the handle. This was difficult to figure out, as the hosts speak no English.
- Stefano (10/5): Very good choice - Amazing hosts who made everything possible to make my stay pleasant. Rooms are comfy and come with no frills, food is very nice too and freshly prepared. Nothing
- Doug (8/5): Very good - Lovely retired Spanish couple hostesses. Very accommodating. Only Spanish speaking and other staff help with translations. Clean room and lots of towels. Good homemade breakfast of your choosing. Location is in Santa Elena, a 10 min uphill walk from town. Furnishings a little dated. Room could use a lamp instead of bright ceiling light always on. Very limited parking on steep'ish short driveway - no problem for SUV 4x4, and I'm nitpicking. Otherwise, excellent service and good value.
- Pino (8/5): Very good - The staff was really nice and kind, the place is 5 min walk from the little town center. Room was clean. Some confusion with respect to the room booked vs room available.
- Zouzar (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect.
- Jelte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philipp (10/5): Very welcoming host, delicious breakfast and great room :) - Maria, the owner of the Lodge, is a wonderful host and always smiling :) She and her husband do everything to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible! The included breakfast was so delicious! I will come back any time :) Nada
- Kathi (8/5): Lovely personalized experience with a Costa Rican family. - Very friendly and helpful; family run, simple and clean. our first room had no windows; changed rooms for the second night.
- Romerio's (10/5): Exceptional - I loved staying at this family-run hotel! The owners are such beautiful and kind people always ready to help. My room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable (amazing mattress and pillows). Breakfast was tasty and of really good quality. It was a pleasure to stay at Monte Los Lirios Lodge for 4 nights. Thank you so much for everything Mari and Joaquin, you made me feel at home! I will definitely come back soon :)
- Elodie (8/5): Very good - Kindness of the owners, great breakfast, close to the town but really calm
- Youngsoon (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean & kind
Especially nice breakfast The room would be much better to have more specicious
- Leandro (10/5): great place in Monteverde with very kind and helpful owners - -the kind owners: they are very helpful, organize your tours, shuttles or whatever you need
- my room was impeccable clean and tidy
- the breakfast: one of the best I got in Costa Rica
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good - Friendly family run hotel. walking distance to the centre of town. catered for gluten free at breakfast. Would recommend.
- Vivian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sameeta (10/5): Awesome place with awesome people - Its very clean and very amazing and helpful host, they always helped me booked the right tours and was accommodating my last min changes of plans. breakfast is extra ordinary. And it’s only 5 min walk to all the restaurants. Very affordable and totally worth the price. There is no area to sit outside to enjoy weather and there was no window in my room.
- Todd (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was a great typical Costa Rican breakfast with fruit, eggs, etc. The coffee was nice and strong and the owners made sure we got what we wanted. The location was great--just a few minutes walk from the center of town. The beds were comfy with enough blankets to stay warm during the cool night. Great mom and pop personalized quiet spot. The room was a bit tight and no views other than tranquil garden plants, and it was often windy but that's just the location.
Bathroom leaves a bit to be desired especially for high needs folks like my wife.
- Peter (6/5): ok for the price - very nice and helpful people our room had no window, there was an opening in the bathroom which led to the hallway which was not very comfortable.
- Valerie (10/5): Amazing value - quite and peaceful - The staff is amazing - so sweet and resourceful. They made me a personalized breakfast that was delicious. The place is well maintained and super clean. Nothing.
- Qifan (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): A lovely family run place - definitely recommend and would return - beautifully clean, great value, well situated (a five minute steep walk away from the town), delicious breakfast, lovely owners, comfortable beds with generous amounts of blankets so we spelt really well, hot water shower. we found our room and bathroom to be very comfortable but there was just a couple of minor things to note:
- the room booking did state two double beds but we actually had one double and one single. It wasn’t a problem for us and I think it is probable a matter of language/translation more than anything intentional.
- it would have been nice to have a lamp in the room rather than just the central ceiling light.
- there’s a bit of a technique to getting warm water in the shower: you have to turn the water flow down and then it warms up
- J (10/5): Can't wait to return. - Clean, spacious, shiny floors, really nice shower, beautiful paintings, wonderful breakfast, pretty garden flowers, friendly outdoor kitty, and the kindest most gracious family owners. Maria is the best. The wind sometimes shook the bedroom door and it sounded like knocking. Easy fix by closing a thick cloth that I had between the door and door jamb.
- Markus (9/5): Perfect place for 1-2 nights, before moving into the actual could forest, get a lodge afterwards - Located in walking distance to night tour, Don huan tour and Monteverde Brewing co. Also a Supermarkt near by. Decent furnitured, warm blancets, big shower. Authentic place
- Florian (9/5): Superb - The hosts were very helpfully.
Quiet area. No place to sit outside for relaxing.
- Kim (7/5): Good -
- Peter (9/5): Superb - The hosts are the best.
Excellent breakfast.
Excellent service.
Very clean everywhere. No communication between Booking.com and Monte Los Lirios. Booking.com confirmed to me that Monte Los Lirios Lodge were expecting my arrival but they were not. I was very lucky that the hosts were there and that there was a room available. It was the first time for me and hopefully the last.
- Clemens (8/5): Very good - The owners have been verx nice, it was clean and the breakfast was really good. My dorm had no window.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - The hotels owners were very very helpful and welcoming and made me feel like part of the family. A very nice stay.
