Guest Reviews
- Kathryn (10/5): Top of the line Bed and Breakfast! - Rick and Colleen treated us like family. We were running late, and they welcomed us and met our every need! We had a great visit and enjoyed their home and beautiful views!
- Emma (10/5): - Beautiful home on a lovely property. Lovely couple with good conversation and comfortable facilities.
- Marjolaine (9/5): Un peu trop loin de la route principale - Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre petit déjeuner. La seule chose , nous ne pensions pas loger avec les propriétaires
Mais nous avons passé un agréable séjour
- Willliam (10/5): host & hostess joined us for dinner. Interesting conversation & great food. Why you stay at b&b’s. - The breakfast was phenomenal! Home-made bread was used for French toast with maple syrup harvested and cured by our host from over 60 acres of maple trees in the “backyard”, accompanied by the best tasting bacon I have ever had. For an additional fee, the host will also prepare a dinner, of which you have several options shown on their listing. Highly recommend you take advantage of this mans’ talents in the kitchen.
- Mark (10/5): Home was lovely, good hosts, good food, knowledgable of area, suggested a different route home.. - Close to Algonquin Park. Convenient location for activities we planned. Nothing.
- Lisa78909 (10/5): - Incredibly warm hosts. If you like a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect place for you. Colleen and Rick are very attentive and do everything
to make you feel at home. Whether it's the incredibly delicious home-cooked dinner, the great breakfast with homemade bread, the hot tub heated up especially for us in the evening, help with any questions, or great conversations.
They are both wonderful hosts. And of course, let's not forget the three cute dogs :)
We felt very comfortable! Thank you, Rick and Colleen.
- Sasank (10/5): Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality and for making our stay so peaceful and memorable. The place is truly b -
- Katja (10/5): - Sehr nette Gastgeber. Die Lage ist außergewöhnlich und für alle, die keinen Trubel brauchen
- Birgit (10/5): - Unsere bisher beste Unterkunft in Kanada.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cindy (10/5): The host and hostess were very pleasant and accommodating and breakfast was amazing - Would prefer an outside entrance but understand why they may not wish to use one
- Sandra (10/5): Hidden Gem - This place is a hidden gem, we travel with our dog everywhere and they were so supportive and welcoming of him staying with us. They offered us dinner as well and joined them at their dinner table which was such a treat. It was delicious, the homemade bread was one of the best I have ever had, and the vegetables were home grown. The room and bed were incredibly comfortable. There were places to be cozy inside and outside with beautiful views everywhere, we will make a point of going back one day. We loved it! Nothing it was perfect.
- Khyati (10/5): Exceptional - Rick and Colleen are the warmest and kindest people. The food, the views, the dogs, and the hospitality were all wonderful!
- James (10/5): A superb booking! - We were treated royally by our hosts, Rick and Colleen. They welcomed us into their beautiful home, of which we had full run of the entire floor. Breakfast was over the top wonderful! The home itself was even more beautiful than we could have wished for, and with the colours of Fall right outside our window we were thoroughly captivated. We hope our hosts will come to visit us at our own home on some later date. Nothing could have been made better on this stay.
- Christopher (10/5): Traditional B&B in a lovely setting run by lovely people. - This is a bed and breakfast in the traditional sense, in that the host cooks a breakfast for their guests. In this case, Rick, made for us a delicious meal according to our dietary preferences—and of course with his top-notch, now famous, sourdough bread toasted to perfection with local butter and homemade jams. Rick greeted us upon our arrival, and served his DELICIOUS rhubarb cake (I had a second piece). We had some time to play with the dogs, there’s a new dog, more of a puppy that is slightly vocally hesitant at first, but soon insists on playing fetch.
The accommodations are great, bed was nice and firm with fresh comforters. Bathroom was spotless with an expansive walk-in shower. Towels were large and fluffy.
It was also nice to chat with Colleen, Rick’s lovely wife, who works to support Rick’s B&B habit. 😁
In short, this is a place for people who love to travel and meet and interact with the locals. That it’s not closer to where I live in Vermont.
- Katherine (10/5): We were very happy with our stay and hope to return. - Rick and Colleen were very friendly and accommodating. They serve an amazing breakfast!
- Appachu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Expect to be back and will recommend to our friends - Wonderful hosts, beautiful room, great views. And breakfast very well done. A bit far off the main road but OK. Certainly no traffic noise!
- Barry (10/5): We loved our short stay in this clean comfortable home with terrific hosts….Don’t miss the breakfast! - First of all, the home is situated in a beautiful setting, …on the edge of a forest, overlooking what looks like a picturesque scene from a painting - a meadow with trees and flowers. The recently built house is beautifully designed with a spacious and private guest room/area Zero complaints
- Don (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pooya (10/5): Exceptional - Rick and Colleen are lovely people. They tried their best to make us feel at home and we really did. Rick has lots of stories to tell and has great suggestions on what to do around there.
- Maya (10/5): A great place to stay before and/or after time in the backcountry. Food was WAY above expectations. - Breakfast, including the best homemade sourdough bread I've ever had, was amazing. I was full all day! Location was easy to find, property is beautiful, cleanest place I've ever stayed, and hosts are warm and welcoming. Highly recommend staying here! N/A
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional and lovely place to stay for a trip to Algonquin! Get to know the locals! - Quiet and peaceful location with splendid breakfast prepared by the hosts!! Extensive breakfast choices with the cozy accomodation. Lots of bathroom necessities provided and the hosts were responsive to any inquiries.

- Stéphanie (10/5): A quiet, clean, beautiful, tastefully decorated house inhabited by generous people awaits you. - This beautiful house surrounded by fields and woods offers traditional hospitality; the room is cool and pleasant, with a lovely view, soft sheets and a comfortable bed, right beside a private bathroom that is exceptionally clean. The hosts are kind and warm. Their cooking is really exceptional; breakfast is abundant and delicious, and if you take them up on their offer to cook dinner for you, which I suggest you do, you will not be disappointed, as they are excellent cooks. Homemade bread, vegetables from the garden, delicious desserts...You are in their home, and that is part of the joy of this place; you will meet the dogs, go for a walk in the woods with Rick and trade recipes and stories. it is about meeting and sharing, and it is real privilege to be in their little corner of paradise for a day or two. I loved everything about our stay; be warned however that you are staying in someone's house. This is not a traditional motel or hotel but a human experience, albeit a very luxurious one.
- Way (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were very welcoming.
Breakfast was amazing, including homemade bread and jam.
The beds were very comfortable and the whole house was kept very clean.
Very quiet and peaceful setting
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, host and hostess, we're friendly.
- Marie-louise (9/5): Friendly hosts, comfy room and generous meals - Very quiet room and perfectly located near Algonquin Park. Not a big deal, but would be nice to be able to enter and exit on the lower floor, without walking through the rest of the house.
- Brittany (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was lovely. Gorgeous home in an incredible location. Breakfast was delicious.
- Keith (6/5): Fine for a one night stop over - Remote location and the excellent food, both breakfast and evening meal. We did not feel that the basement space was our own as there were occasions in the morning where windows and blinds were opened or closed that had nothing to do with us. It was a sort of invasion of the space we had paid for!
- Fabio (8/5): Enjoyable and convenient. - The host were very nice, helpful and accommodating. The room and the bed were first class, just as the bathroom was spacious and clean. Its rural location was also enchanting and very relaxing. There is a relative lack of privacy, as we could hear the home owners while we watched TV. There were two large dogs, very friendly though, but the smell of their wet skin was present in the house.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - The owner , helped me find a some proper pants to buy. On my fishing trip. The stairs to the room were long , but safe
- Jayne (10/5): Beautifully located in the countryside, wonderful hosts, comfy bed with a stunning view. - Breakfast was excellent including homemade jams! We were completely happy, absolutely no complaints!
- Tracy (10/5): Top of Algonquin is "top notch" in all aspects! - The food was amazing, Rick and Colleen were great cooks! I am vegan and they had no issues with finding some tasty meals to prepare and serve. We had dinner on the 2nd night, they cooked Thai, it was delicious! The wood fireplace was a definate plus as we were skidooing all day and into the evening, nice a toasty warm! Very welcoming, lovely people.
- Ganna (10/5): Exceptional - It is an amazing place, comfortable, clean, with a welcoming atmosphere. Good internet. Nice view from the room. There are trails on the property, and the host is very kind to show them. Food was very yummy (some vegetables were from their own garden).
Hope to come back in the summer.
- Victor (10/5): Perfect hosts in a very nice environment - Very warm welcome from Rick and Colleen. The food they prepared was delicious (breakfast and dinner). Rick recommended some trails (some of them directly from the house) which were very nice. Huge personal space in the house for the guests. We enjoyed the comfortable the comfortable bed, the gym, the TV and the sunrise!
