- D'Antuono (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very special spot! Would definitely come back & stay longer! - Beautiful host family, clean, comfy accomodations, delicious breakfast, and tranquil atmosphere within the garden setting. Two nights were not enough! I would go back, stay longer, and explore more of this beautiful area! Nothing!
- Laura (10/5): - Super charming! Our hosts were so hospitable and we enjoyed frog hunting in the garden each evening.
- Goldberg (9/5): beautiful and quaint, would stay here again - The host family was so accomodating and sweet, and the breakfast each morning was amazing! Something new everyday. We loved the Yucca pancakes.
Super nette Inhaber Familie. Frühstück Mega lecker. Alles sauber. Kleine Nachtgartenführung war cool. Würden wieder dort buchen.
- Mark (6/5): Not sure I'd stay again - Breakfast was delicious. Because the property is really within the jungle, we had a free night tour of frogs and birds. no hot water in the shower, but this may be standard. We were surprised that it was cash only, no cards. The beds were quite marginal, as the mattresses should be replaced.

- Christopher (9/5): Very Nice Family Owned Guest House - Home made breakfast - fresh fruit from the garden - good coffee, home ground beans. It's a small place, family owned and operated, very friendly, very clean. It's just a little out of the way, off the main road, you need a car, preferably with high ground clearance, the road was a bit rough.
- marianne (8/5): -

- Petra (9/5): Very clean, nice place! - Cute Bungalow,(best is 2 person, not more) nested in a wonderful garden.
The cleanest place one could find in CR.
Alfredo and his whole family are friendly, caring and very nice people and hosts.
Close by are many places to eat…Yeye‘s Restaurant is a dream!! (1.2km away) Doña Eli Restaurant was very good as well! The patio to sit does not get any air because of the close plants and bushes..it get‘s very hot to sit there..
- Kevin (10/5): A Jungle in the middle of the mountains - By choosing this place you are for sure supporting a lovely family who wants to share their love for nature to everybody, the father of the family is super kind , full of lovely stories and just around the representation of what an costa rican really is all about.
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - We absolutely loved staying here! The family is wonderful. They were always ready to help and answer any questions. The night tour on the property was fun, the breakfast was delicious and it was overall very relaxing. This was the first property we stayed at on our Costa Rica trip, and we were so grateful that it was. I recommend this place to anyone who's wanting to explore Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio / Rio Celeste area!
- Marcie (10/5): Our stay contributed to our lovely experience in Bijagua. - The family was very friendly, and interesting. The food was great. Everything was good.
- Janine (10/5): Cosy and clean rooms - lovely family - Jardin entre montañas is run by a sweet and kind family (Alfredo, Luzbeth, Alejandro ans Joseline) who are very welcoming. In the evening, Alfredo gave us a tour through the garden to show us the hidden tree frogs. Luzbeth cooked every morning a very delicious breakfast with fresh fruits. They gave us advice and recommendations for the park volcan Tenorio and told us a little about them and the area. The room is as described and on the pictures. Small but cosy with good internet connection. We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Wilma (10/5): Comfortable rustic cabins hosted by lovely local family - We absolutely loved our 5 night stay with Lusbeth, Alfredo, and family in the rustic cabins surrounded by their beautiful gardens. A generous, delicious, homemade breakfast was included. There was even home made passionfruit jam and fresh juice from their own fruits. There were many colourful birds, including toucans. They gave us a free night tour of their garden to see the frogs and other critters. They helped us organize activities and were genuinely kind. Our cabin was clean and comfortable with enough beds for 5 people. The kitchenette was a welcome addition so we could cook our own meals. I recommend supporting this local family by staying with them when you visit the Bijagua area and Volcanoes Tenorio and Miravalles. Muchas gracias Lusbeth y Alfredo pour la hospitalidad y la amabilidad. We liked everything.
- Laurent (10/5): Pura vida en Tenorio! - The property is very green and cosy with adorable family to welcome you!
- Richard (9/5): Lovely three days. 3 different breakfasts prepared with care. Free frog tour was a lovely addition. Saw a red eyed tree - Authentic finca run by a nice local family.
- Arthur (10/5): Best place we stayed in Costa Rica, I strongly recommend! - Super warm welcome, we felt we were part of the family. The room was clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Incredible time with Alfredo who showed us frogs at night time in his garden!
- Gemma (9/5): Superb - The room was spacious and clean. The hosts were amazing and gave me a little night tour around the gardens. The kitchen had enough basics for me to be able to make breakfast.
The property is in a lovely little town with two volcanoes to look at and it's within walking distance of supermarkets etc. The bed was slightly harder than I'm used to, but still comfortable enough to sleep through.
The kitchen was a little small, but I could make small meals.
The road out to the property is in a pretty bad state, but if you drive carefully there's no issues.
- Norma (10/5): Outstanding! - Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented! We received a lovely guitar serenade for my birthday! Nothing!
- Bonnie (9/5): A beautiful paradise with very helpful and friendly hosts. Would definitely stay their again. - The hosting family were warm and welcoming. They taught us about chocolate and sugar cane. The gardens were stunningly beautiful. They added a lot of extras that taught us more about their culture. The breakfasts were filling and delicious. Everything was so clean, neat and tidy. Lovely birds and butterflies. We felt like friends by the end of our stay. Completely out of their control but their neighbours were loud in the evening with music and motorcycles.
- John (9/5): Super fun two-night stay in this little neighborhood oasis. - Super fun two-night stay in this little neighborhood oasis. Owners are terrific and kind people, delicious breakfast and super filling (was not expecting that, thank you!). As others have mentioned, we sampled their homemade hot chocolate and the owner took us around on a little night tour of the gardens - especially loved seeing the sleeping birds all tucked in among the plants. Room, clean and comfy.
- Jean (8/5): A real tico family stay. - The owners were kind and hospitable. They served a great breakfast and it was very clean. It was quite hot and there is no air conditioning. The location is a neighborhood with quite a lot of noise.
- Jill (9/5): A really sweet place with amazing hosts! - My sister and I loved staying at Jardin Entre Montanas. The owners are the nicest family you'd ever want to meet (hablan espanol solamente) and breakfast was absolutely delicious - Luzbeth even made cocoa from freshly ground cacao from their trees. The garden is gorgeous and Alfredo gave us a little night tour to see the frogs. The room was really cute and very clean, and there was a small kitchen adjacent to the room solely for our use which was an added bonus. The location was good - in a local neighborhood near beautiful pastureland, but close to supers and places to eat. The hot water in the shower wasn't working too well.
- Janine (10/5): A peaceful, quiet, comfortable stay with incredibly caring hosts. - From the moment we arrived, and were greeted by the whole family; our stay was a highlight of the trip. We were treated with such care and attention and felt it was very personal to us.
The little cottage we stayed in was in the garden…beautifully private and quiet. We loved hearing the birds in the bushes and trees next to the terrace.
The cottage was spotlessly clean and kitchen, although small, very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and although no air con…the fan worked very well. There was nothing not to like.
- Anna-lena (10/5): Exceptional - We had a very nice stay in the Jardin. The location was beautiful and we had the best breakfast in Costa Rica with own produced chocolate. Thanks a lot! 😊
- Rose (8/5): Cute cabin in Bijaugua! - The owners are magnificent people. The gardens are beautiful! Beds uncomfortable. Noisy neighbors.
- Jane (9/5): Superb -
- Aggcee (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location in a beautiful garden. The owners are such a nice people. They ofered us a free night walk in the garden to see night animals. Garden with all trees and flowers is magical. The apartment is cosy with a small kitchen. Breakfast is delicious. We hihgly recommend Jardin entre Montañas.
- Lynda (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was excellent. Gave a tour of garden at night to find frogs. Fresh ground cocoa in the morning for hot chocolate and a demo of how to grind sugar cane. The juice was fresh and delicious. Host provided a list of recommended local restaurants.
- Eric (10/5): Superb stopover near the Tenorio Volcano - We are welcomed as if we were family. The setting is charming. The hosts share their passion with us. They spontaneously offered us a sugar cane pressing demonstration and a night tour of the garden.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. An address to highly recommend. ! Nothing
- Pichorner (9/5): Superb - A lovely family owned place. Amazing breakfast with home grown cacao. The garden was very beautiful! Lots of frogs which Alfredo, the owner showed us at night. At first we did not feel so safe in the neighborhood, a little scary at night because it is quite ruaral and off the road.
- Broholm (10/5): Wonderful place and outstanding hosts! - This was one of the best stays we've had in all of our travels. Alfredo and family are wonderful hosts, and they have created a beautiful and welcoming space. And the breakfasts they serve are outstanding. Highly recommended!
- Alexandra (10/5): Very authentic stay at the beautiful property with lovey people - The place is so beautiful and Alfredo and his family are very welcoming, kind and open people.
We felt like staying with a family.
The garden, the bungalows and the breakfast were all great!
We only stayed for 1 night to go to Rio Celeste, but we didn’t want to leave.
We loved the recommendations and the night tour! Nothing
- Michael (10/5): Pura Vide in the garden - There is something very special about this place. There is so much love here. You see very quickly after arrival how much the family loves their cabins, their garden, each other, and their guests.
Immediately after arrival, they welcomed me into their family. They taught me about farming, plants in the garden, how cocoa and sugar water are made. We sang Spanish songs into the evening. They were incredibly patient with my very limited Spanish vocabulary, and we always managed to find a way to understand each other.
This is my ninth stop on my Costa Rica journey. Every location has used the term Pura Vide. It wasn't until this stay that I really started to understand what the feeling of "Pura Vide" was. It abounds here.
Thank you for a beautiful stay. You have been an incredible gift on my Costa Rica visit.
- Dagmar (10/5): Brilliant! - Bungalows with a lot of taste, super nice owners, fantastic garden. We felt like staying with family!
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jolene (10/5): Highly recommend!! Very unique experience!! - We had a great experience!! The hosts were so nice and welcoming. They take such great care of their guests and really made us feel at home and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had in Costa Rica. Frog tours, garden, and property were very genuine and unique. Everything was great! No improvements needed here .
- Robert (10/5): A.small piece of paradise! - Run by a lovely family who have built the cabins and grown the garden from the ground up. We were able to grind our own cacao, take a night tour of the garden for frogs, and explored the area around bijagua, of course including el Rio Celeste. Nothing to say!
- Anonymous (10/5): It was a wonderful 3 night Stay in gorgeous gardens between to amazing volcanoes national Park’s. The hospitality and br - we loved our visit to Jardin entre Montanas! We especially love the night tour and spending time with the family playing guitar and singing. Luzbeth’s breakfasts were amazing, varied and delicious. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and seeing lots of beautiful birds. we felt like we were staying with family and felt so welcome. Everything was very clean and smartly designed for example the cute little kitchen was very convenient to use. Luzbeth had a translation app that made it easy to communicate (even though we only speak English there was not a barrier to communication). Having to leave after our three days day was over
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Amiable and helpful family operate this hotel.
- Brian (10/5): Secluded, comfortable stay in a lovely spot. Don’t miss it! - Truly a hidden gem. these cabins are tucked away on the outskirts of a Costa Rican village. You are secluded, yet feel as though you’re part of the everyday fabric of life. The cabins are comfortable and cute.
The hosts are a family who are delighted to share their property.
We loved our stay. If you’re looking for a hotel near Rio Celeste, this is it!!! Nothing. Our stay was fantastic.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - The family that hosts the property were agreeable and offered to assist me in contacting other helpful persons in the Bijagua area. Very pleasant people.
- Nesrin (10/5): Exceptional - Such a nice family owned place. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners are amazing people, and they gave us a tour in their garden with nice plants including cacao and coffee, we also got to go for searching frogs there. Very recommended!
- Zeynep (9/5): Authentic and local family run b&b - Jardin de Montana is a charming bed and breakfast run by the lovely family of Alfredo, Luzbeth, Joseline, and Alejandro. The authenticity of the place shines through in its warm and inviting atmosphere, making guests feel right at home. The family is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and they go out of their way to make sure guests have an enjoyable stay. Overall, I highly recommend Jardin de Montana for anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic B&B experience It was difficult to find on Google maps so make sure you arrive early day when there is light and look out the signs on the road.
- Anita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cécile (10/5): Exceptional - Luzbeth and Alfredo, the hosts, were lovely, and made us feel so welcome. They offered to take us on a tour of their lush garden (both at night and in the morning) and helped us spot animals, share their knowledge on plants with us, and were very patient with our wobbly spanish!
The room was big, clean and has a small kitchen space if needed.
The breakfast was homemade with local ingredients (some from the garden including the chocolate!) and was delicious!
Would definitely make a stop there if we come back to Costa Rica.
- Lauren (8/5): Paradise in the garden - oasis tucked in the jungle, a taste for how the locals live, almost feels like a home-stay. very sweet couple built these cabins and made us feel right at home. they planted an amazing garden full of local foods and plants. you can see some frogs at night too! as I am not fluent in Spanish it was a bit challenging to communicate with the hosts, so be prepared for that if you’re the same. this didn’t bother us but cold showers only, no AC, location is not good if you don’t have your own car, very far from anything.
