• DR.EA (8/5): - Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und reichlich. Es gab jeden Morgen ausreichend Kaffee und zusätzlich zu den üblichen Zutaten immer eine einheimische Spezialität. Die Lage ist ruhig und etwas außerhalb. Parkplatz ist direkt am Haus vorhanden. Es gibt sehr viele Regeln zu beachten und für einige Leistungen, wie z.b. Klimaanlage oder Kofferaufbewahrung wird eine Zusatzgebühr erhoben.

• Arnaud (7/5): Une bonne adresse pour une première étape sur l’île de Sao Antão - Marie m’a accueilli comme si c’était chez moi, elle m’a mit tout de suite à l’aise en m’expliquant tout et me donnant de très bon conseil pour l’ensemble de mon séjour. Bonne adresse de restaurant, un chemin facile à suivre et surtout j’ai trouvé très facilement l’adresse de son établissement. Le petit déjeuner du matin était plus que correct, j’en avais même trop, avec des produits et des préparations local !!! J’admire. Établissement bien tenu. Quelques moustiques la nuit, le bruit du voisinage avec les chiens qui aboient la nuit mais c’est un peu partout pareil ! Avec des bouchons anti bruit ça devrait être parfait.

Très dommage que l’eau chaude ne soit disponible que jusqu’à 19 h et que l’eau de la douche soit froide le matin !

• christine (8/5): bien - l'accueil par Marie ,francophone, tout à fait adorable , qui nous organisé un tour magnifique en voiture avec Djon, le ponche d'accueil et les produits de toilette les petits déjeunes hyper copieux servis à l'étage supérieur , où se trouve aussi une terrasse avec des tables la qualité des lits ( grincent) l'ameublement un peu vieillot l 'absence d'eau chaude ( l'eau est chauffée par les panneaux solaires et malheureusement il a plu ...) la télé en panne ... pour s'occuper la journée de pluie l'éloignement du centre de Porto novo : il faut compter une bonne demi heure de marche , en pente

Douche froide pendant notre séjour de 2 jours malgré les horaires respectés. Accueil très formel avec prèsentation des passeports et paiement à l'arrivée, ce que nous n'avons jamais du faire pendant tout notre séjour a Cap vert.

Tatsächlich ist das Frühstück einer der Hauptgründe, dass ich hier immer wieder übernachte. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb, daher aber auch ruhiger. Auch bei meinem vierten Besuch verfahre ich mich immer noch manchmal bei der Anfahrt. Trotz der vielen Hinweisschilder. Aber man darf hier nicht auf Google-Maps achten, sondern muss den Schildern folgen.

• Gabriele (8/5): gentilezza e ottima colazione - bella camera, colazione super e Marie gentilissima dal primo momento; la colazione super, in terrazza con vista e soprattutto preparata al momento, niente cibo confezionato e tutto fresco, sicuramente se un giorno ritornero' a Santo Antao, pernottero' qui! sicuramente l'assenza di acqua calda dopo le 7pm non è un gran confort, ma lo sapevamo prima di venir qui, quindi non è assolutamente una critica, spero possano in futuro risolvere questo piccolo problema, per rendere il soggiorno qui davvero impeccabile!

• Weiss (9/5): Nette Atmosphäre - Die Unterkunft lag ruhig, etwas oberhalb des Zentrums, das aber gut zu Fuß zu erreichen war. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber mit einem großen Fenster mit absolut dichtem Fliegengitter sowie Verdunkelungsrollo zusätzlich zu den farblich ansprechenden Vorhängen. Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Im Zimmer hatte sie als Gastgeschenk selbst gemachten Ponche (leckerer Likör aus Zuckerrohrsirup und grogue) bereitgestellt. Gestärkt durch das ausgesprochen leckere Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse konnte der Tag beginnen! Klimaanlage war vorhanden, hätte aber extra bezahlt werden müssen. Die Klospülung hat nur für zweimaliges Abziehen gereicht.

Elle met tout en œuvre pour faciliter notre séjour (petit déjeuner extraordinaire, appel d'aluguer, proposition de randonnées...). L'avantage d'être restés 4 nuits sur Porto Novo nous a permis de poser nos bagages et d'explorer plusieurs parties de l'île au départ de chez Marie. Encore MERCII à elle.

Marie parle français et peut s occuper et organiser tous les projets. L arret de l eau chaude un peu trop tôt à 19h, il faut se presser de rentrer pour se doucher. Peut être aller jusqu'à 20h.

Pour moi qui voyage solo c’était vraiment un plus. Son petit déjeuner est juste parfait, délicieux et copieux. Marie parle parfaitement le français.

Pero sobre todo Marie, sus desayunos variados, abundantes y con vistas, y su sonrisa permanente. Ella nos ha puesto todas las facilidades del mundo: nos ha gestionado un alquiler de coche cuando no había disponibilidad en toda la isla, nos ha aconsejado, nos ha cuidado en todo momento, ha estado más que pendiente y nos ha hecho sentir como en casa! Elle parle Français et vous guidera dans votre découverte de San Antao, elle parle de son pays avec passion et grâce à elle nous avons pu bénéficier à un tarif très correct du meilleur guide (John) de tout notre voyage ! Grâce à Marie et John, ce fut une de nos meilleures expériences dans notre voyage de 15 jours à la découverte de plusieurs îles du Cap Vert. Je conseille sans hésitation.

She can arrange loads of activities around the island and she helped me arrange a vehicle to explore the island. I paid for AC which was a godsend in June as it was hot but the room is well appointed and I slept really well every nights I spent 5 nights there in total and I’ll be back next time for sure

A hearty, sweet breakfast served on the terrace with stunning views of the ocean and the neighbouring island. Daily, except on Sundays, room cleaning. Friendly, helpful staff. Quick check-in and check-out. A free welcoming drink, even I didn't find time to taste it. A "musical" bed making sounds after each my movement. The water temperature in the shower is good for hardening the body. A TV set was on holidays in my room.

• Danielle (5/5): unfortunately not according to pur expectations - - Breakfast - the room was clean The 'king-size bed' we booked via booking.com was only 140 cm wide, rock-hard, and creaked with every movement. A couple we met at breakfast also complained about their bed. The room was tiny, noisy, but clean. The TV didn’t work. We left early without receiving any credit or discount. Even the tourist tax was initially supposed to be charged for the entire stay by the lady. The breakfast was good. We had much better rooms with an '8+' rating on other Cape Verde islands, so for us, this is a '5'.

Room didn't have AC and mosquito nets weren't working properly but just small details in an otherwise one night great stay as I had to catch the ferry very early in the morning.

• Lovebunnies (8/5): Clean and nice place a walk outside the city center - The hostess, Marie, runs this beautiful little place and keeps it spotless like a rose in the desert. Very friendly and she makes a breakfast you would only dream of. We had a room with aircon, which we would recommend in general on CV, and it was clean and nice with an ok (but short) bed, a little fridge and a small bathroom with shower. Communication in English is a bit tricky, but nothing google translate couldn't solve and even with some good laughs :-D Lots of info available in the house if you want to go trekking ... which we weren't. We would definitely come back if in Porto Novo again! Located outside the city center at the end of a dirt road, this is not the place to where you walk with a lot of luggage ... so good there are taxies who will take you there from the ferry terminal for 200 CVE :-) Feels safe though, and a walk to the city is about 15 minutes. The surrounding in general is not very inspiring, as it is partly deserted and partly occupied with half built houses. This is mostly a place to sleep or use as a base for activities other places. Security cameras all over the facility, inside and outside, which you'll simply have to disregard or else get paranoid. No elevator, so rooms and bar/breakfast available by stairs only.
• Ute (9/5): Great place to stay in Porto Novo - Best breakfast during our whole trip to Cabo Verde! The owner is top professional, and you can clearly see that she invests time and money to make the pension a nice place. Highly recommend this pension. The location might be slightly too far for walking to/from from the ferry terminal. For us it was ok.
• Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic experience. Best hostess, well organized & kind, very helpful with helping to arrange a trip, taxis, etc. Just a lovely human! Really excellent breakfast, variety of things every day, great start to the day. Everything is super clean, well appointed, and nicely decorated - you can tell a lot of care goes into running the place. Good wifi throughout. Nice patio for relaxing. Location is in a peaceful neighbourhood but still just a short walk to everything (10m to centre of town). Hot water only in the morning but that was a non-issue, it goes til noon. And after noon in this weather you'd want a cold shower anyways ;) Definitely recommend taxi from the ferry port, it's only 2eu/200escudos and you save yourself the uphill walk with luggage. Would definitely stay here again. Nothing!

• Mathias (8/5): If you stay in Porto Nove this is one of the 2 best options - I am writing this review 21.2.2023, more than 1 month after the end of my trip to Cabo Verde, so I will not remember all details: Good comfort, good breakfeast, a very friendly owner. No noise disturbances. Convenient to stay if you take the ferry next morning before returning your rental car for example. It is a bit far from the center but what is "far" in such a small town... It is not the most idyllic view but the city is not idyllic as such. If you want that you need to stay at a different place on the island.
• Lycia (10/5): Exceptional - The Host Miss S. is wonderful! A quick witted as also a well prepared Professional. The accommodation is in a pristine condition, it is basic but has nevertheless everything for your short term stay. Everything is spotless clean, neath and well maintained. Please ask Miss S. for any help or advice. Don't book any transfer etc. on the island without speaking to her. She knows how things go down, will book collectivos to the hiking trails for a local price. Be aware that Google maps maybe showing the wrong way to the location. If you meet a neighbor who's try to sell you a very expensive deal for transfer don't do it. The accommodation is a bit afar as also in a unpaved roadside. Both is not the fault of the host so not considered a flaw of the accommodation itself. If you are unsure to make it by foot take a taxi for 300 CVE
• Stephen (10/5): An exceptional location experience on an island paradise. - My stay at Yria Residencial was almost like staying with a good friend of the family. I cannot find any reason not to return to enjoy the hospitality extended to me again. At very short notice the host arranged a fabulous whole day tour of the island of Santo Antao for me. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of choice including home baking. I look forward to my next visit. I would recommend that people with mobility issues should contact the property in advance to ensure access arrangements are suitable.

• Xavier (9/5): Great choice in Porto Novo - Breakfast was amazing! We could even eat vegan. Also Sandra was very helpful on helping us to arrange the next night on another part of the island. She also gave us hints on to get money exchange and buy stuff on a public holiday. You can ask anything, if she does not know she will do her best to figure out.
