Even if it's a guesthouse you are free to come back anytime and they always offer you pick you up for a extra charge of 20yuan. If you feel, you can even walk to the water town. Помогают во всем, решают все ваши вопросы и пожелания, несмотря на разные языки. Немного далековато от основных достопримечательностей( пешком не дойти). Но хозяин готов отвести и повести вас . Ну и комната маловата для троих была.

• Dominic (10/5): - A great stay! The couple that runs this is very nice and will help you with transportation throughout Gubei for a fair cost. They also will cook you home cooked meals for a fee. My original plan was to walk to Gubei Watertown from the hotel, but it didn’t seem that walkable so I just got the transportation they provided and was happy with my decision.

Honestly they made my trip so much easier. 1000000% recommend. The location was a little bit further out of gubei water town but the hosts dropped me off and picked me up for super cheap!

• Schmidt (10/5): Well organised family run guesthouse with delicious breakfast - This is a Family run guesthouse close to the Gubei resort. It’s close enough to be a real alternative if you can’t find something inside the resort or if you value the experience itself. The family who runs it, is super organised. The son speaks very good English and will communicate with you regarding pick ups / drop offs / tours. The parents do the operational side, they don’t speak English but go out of their way to accommodate you - organise local transport to and from the water town, the other part of the wall, breakfast / lunch / dinner whatever you need (delicious breakfast by the way). We asked for a pick up from Beijing and a drop off at PEK - Worked great. The village itself, where the guesthouse is located, looks interesting but as it was winter, early dark and super cold, there wasn’t much happening when we were there.

• Suzanne (10/5): Hidden gem! - A hidden gem! Perfect spot to stay for a trip to watertown and the Simatai great wall. The lovely couple were very welcoming and a joy to be around. They used translation apps to make conversation and help us with our questions. The man very kindly dropped and collected us to and from watertown whenever we wanted for a very small fee (40RBN I think). We had delicious home cooked meals for dinner and breakfast. Their son Rock was so helpful via WeChat and even helped us with a query after we left! We highly recommend a stay here! Thank you for a fabulous stay. The only thing of note is quite a hard bed but thay might suit some other people!
• Gee Wai (10/5): - Near to Gubei Water Town. Great for a overnight trip after night session at Gubei Water Town. The hosts were very friendly and were worried we couldn't get a ride. Better bring own Toothbrush, toothpaste and towel. They do provide shower gel and shampoo. Appreciate it.
• Kuehman (8/5): Get the whole experience of a homestay. - For a genuine homestay experience, this is the place you can truly rely on. The hosts were warm, generous, and took excellent care of their guests. We truly enjoyed both the stay and the delicious food.

Nothing was too much trouble and we were helped enormously with all our arrangements. We would massively recommend and return in a heart beat. The value for money is excellent. For the cost of the stay nothing could possibly be complained about.

They were extremely polite and we especially enjoyed the delicious home made Chinese food! You must feel comfortable by making use of basic facilities like the bathroom. The shower worked fine though and the bedroom was nicely decorated.

• margarita12 (9/5): - Очень необычный и приятный опыт проживания у местных жителей. Хозяин достаточно поздно забрал нас из Губэя - мы просто написали ему, когда были готовы ехать. От Губэя на машине до жилья минут 5-10. Номер чистый, просторный, с собственным санузлом. Единственное, что было непривычно, - отсутствие пододеяльников :) Но нам объяснили, что они спят так. Сами одеяла были чистые, пахли порошком Нам предоставили воду, с утра накормили завтраком - завтрак был готов к оговоренному времени, был вкусным и сытным. Хозяин за разумную плату довез нас до Пекина. Причем, так как был выходной день, и он не мог въехать на машине в город, он вызвал для нас такси до окончательной точки назначения. Это было очень приятное и трогательное знакомство, и я с удовольствием всем рекомендую остановиться здесь

• Monika (9/5): - Bardzo życzliwi, uczynni gospodarze. Zaoferowali za niewielką kwotę śniadanie w stylu chińskim. Bardzo pomocni przy transporcie do atrakcji. Udzielają cennych wskazówek pomimo bariery językowej. Pozwalają zostawić bagaże w aucie podczas wędrówki na wielki mur chiński. Pozwalają skorzystać z lodówki w apartamencie i można sobie kupić podstawowe napoje i wodę. Trzeba mieć na uwadze że osoby prowadzące ten pensjonat nie mówią po angielsku. Komunikacja odbywa się przez użycie translatora co nie stanowi problemu. Główny gospodarz komunikuje się za pomocą czatu Booking i mówi po angielsku.

La mamma cucina per gli ospiti su richiesta ed i piatti sono semplici ma buoni. Ci è stato fornito il servizio di trasferimento da Pechino alla struttura e da lì alla muraglia, non troppo economico ma utilissimo. Comunque tutti si sono mostrati sempre molto attenti alle nostre necessità. Grazie La struttura è un po' isolata e senza che loro accompagnino gli ospiti non si può fare nulla lì intorno

• ANNE-SOPHIE (10/5): Accueil parfait et super emplacement - Un grand merci au couple d'hôtes, qui nous ont accueillis comme en famille ! Extrêmement gentils et aux petits soins, c'était vraiment parfait. La cuisine de la dame est excellente et le monsieur nous emmène partout en voiture et nous conseille pour tout. Allez y sans hésiter ! Le logement est également idéalement situé pour visiter Gubei Water Town et donc voir la muraille de nuit.

Il proprietario ci ha aiutato ad organizzare spostamenti ed acquisto biglietti. Inoltre, il figlio del proprietario ci ha accompagnato a Pechino in auto e ci è stato di estremo aiuto perché a Pechino era blindata a causa di una parata militare che si sarebbe svolta qualche ora dopo , mettendosi completamente a nostra disposizione per aiutarci a raggiungere l'hotel dove avevamo depositato i nostri bagagli.

Les services de taxi proposés par le gérant sont pratiques certes (depuis aéroport et site de la muraille) mais très chers. Les prix des repas, café...etc ne sont pas clairement indiqués. Petite surprise en payant la note à la fin du séjour.

They provided a clean and comfortable room, delicious meals, and transportation whenever we needed. Every need was met, and every preference considered. We had clean towels, a private bathroom, a fully adjustable schedule, and luxuries like coffee, tea, and snacks.

Ze hebben de kennis over de omgeving en kunnen je helpen met je wensen. Geen opmerkingen. De kamers waren schoon. Host sprak geen Engels, maar met een vertaalapp konden we makkelijk communiceren met elkaar.

• Davide (9/5): A nice homestay with friendly owners and good food - A proper homestay! The owners are really friendly and helpful. We arrived at lunch time, and they cooked us a delicious homemade meal for a fair price. The place is conveniently located near Gubei Water Town and the Simatai and Jinshalin entries of the great wall. The owners can drive you there for an acceptable fee. The beds in the room were a bit on the hard side and the facilities, including the bathroom, are basic. But all in all, they match with the price range of the venue.

Without him it’d have been very difficult to have done what we did. We watched the sunrise from the wall and it was unforgettable. Thank you very much!!

For a little extra, they prepared meals including one of the best braised pork I've ever tasted. They also could arrange for convenient transfers in and out of the capital to our selected locations at a reasonable fee. My only regret was only booking one night

• Irene (1/5): It’s a scam - location is absolutely wrong - Don’t book your accommodation here, it is a scam. It is NOT located at Gubei water town, but more than 5 km far from there!!! The location that appears in the maps in Booking app is definitely wrong, and the address they provided was giving an error in Amap, so I only discovered all this once I arrived to Gubei Water Town, and a random taxi driver helped me, called the property and they gave directions to arrive there. The two people at the property, an old lady and an old man, were not speaking a single word of English, and to communicate they were calling someone else I had to speak with at the phone. They definitely didn’t help with any organization of my visit there, they only offer their taxi services to get more money from their guests. A total scam!

They help us with the driving and they took us to the airport on the last day for a very reasonable price. Thank you very much for everything, we loved our stay!

The son lives in Beijing and the place is run by his parents who will go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. They communicate efficiently through translator apps and if there are any issues their son is available to chat. We didn’t want to leave ❤️ Loved everything! Only thing to be aware of is there’s not much else around but don’t let this deter you! They provide delicious home cooked meals for a very reasonable price. We ate all our meals with them and being vegetarian want an issue :) and they will drive you anywhere if needed.

We were able to communicate through WeChat so would recommend it to anyone visiting. We actually didn't find the bed too uncomfortable while it is hard and slept very well. Would definitely recommend staying here for those wanting to visit the region! As you can tell it was more of an experience & while they were definitely fair prices be aware you will be paying a bit more for your trip when you add the transport costs and delicious food cooked for you into account but don't let that put you off it is an unforgettable stay!

Amazing overnight ha stay! Very authentic. We had trouble with organising transfer from Beijing but then found this accommodation. our host picked us up from our Beijing city hotel and too us back at a very reasonable and much much cheaper price than anything we looked at! Also took us to and picked us up from the water town when needed. Honestly never post normally but felt I needed to share what a wonderful experience we had! We also had breakfast made for us and there was plenty and at a very reasonable price and was very yum! I know there are comments on the bed being hard but this is quite standard and honestly the whole experience more than made up for a firm bed!

• Nyc (10/5): Exceptional - Such a lovely family running this guesthouse. This is my second time staying with them. I try to come back to Jingshaling every year in the fall (it is glorious ). The place is fantastic. They organize my transport from the airport for a very honest price. The food is SO MUCH and SO GOOD. XIE XIE to the lady that runs the place. If you want authentic countryside Chinese experience, this is the place.

• Jessica (9/5): Wonderful Host to take care of all your language challenges stay in Beijing - The host (Rock) and his parents are wonderful !! Anticipated , attentive and accommodating to all our request. Accommodation is basic but it's clean, value for money. Host's mom cooks the meals (typical Chinese meals) and also offers private car service to shuttle us to and from Beijing downtown and to Gubei Watertown and Jinshanling if needed. The 3 bed room we stayed in, the attached bathroom water does not drain fast enough, so gets a bit flooded. But not a huge issue.
• Livio (10/5): Exceptional - This place truly melted our hearts! We had the best time here, and our hosts were like grandparents to us in China. From the moment we arrived, they took excellent care of us. We stayed for two nights, which gave us the chance to visit Gubei Water Town and the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall. Both were incredible experiences! Our hosts drove us to and from both locations each day, and they also cooked delicious meals for us. It was a truly heartwarming experience, and you can feel how much love and dedication they put into hosting travelers. Highly recommended for Western visitors!
• Jacqueline (8/5): Wonderful location with transport to various sights. Homestay run with love. - Home stay run by beautiful parents for 3 nights. Arranged a drive to and from Jinshanling part of the Great Wall, with help on buying tickets and which part to start walk at (cater this to your fitness levels and time you wish to spend there). Amazing day. Also got picked up from bus station just outside Gubei Water Town. We thoroughly enjoyed spending a day and night here (entrance fee). The Simatai Great Wall can be accessed from within Gubei Water Town, or from the outside. Note, to see the wall at night as well as the day as we did, you must purchase 2 tickets and come back down in the day and go back at night when Wall is reopened. Both views worth the visit and cost. 5 minutes walk from the bus station towards the Gubei Water Town entrance are 2 Lawsons. Great for snacks, brekkie items for Jumanyuan House. We had both one breakfast, lunch and dinner at homestay. Filling and simple home cooking. Didn't enjoy sleeping on Dwayne Johnson. The only downer.
