• Jan Verschueren (6/5): Heel mooi gebouw, mooie locatie....maar er is veel meer uit te halen! - de ligging, de ruime kamer de structuur van de kamer met douce en toilet in de kamer met gordijn errond het matige ontbijt
• Claire (8/5): Originele kamer op prachtige locatie - Prachtige locatie met uitzicht op de ruïne, originele kamer met WC en douche in kokers, vriendelijke uitbater De kamer was proper, maar binnenin de douchekoker hingen spinnenwebben. Bij het ontbijt ontbrak iets hartig, alle beleg was zoet.

• laurence (7/5): Vue époustouflante - La chambre était spacieuse, la vue sur l'abbaye époustouflante. Le personnel sympathique et disponible. Accès à n'importe quelle heure via un code d'entrée. Bols d'eau pour les chiens en terrasse. En arrivant, 2 jeunes femmes sur la terrasse complètement soûles (l'une d'elles était d'ailleurs tombée). Il y a longtemps qu'on aurait dû refuser de les servir en alcool. L'escalier pour parvenir à la chambre du second étage très étroit et dont les finitions ne semblent pas terminées. Le matin, musique et bruit sur la terrasse. 20 euros pour le chien et 20 euros pour la taxe de séjour m'ont paru énormes.

Ce n'est pas très pratique. Je n'ai jamais connu cela. Mes amis qui avaient la chambre en dessous (au 1e étage) avaient des odeurs.

• Philippe (8/5): origineel hotel met mooi uitzicht - mooi gelegen met zicht op de ruïnes, origineel gedurfd design met toilet en douche in een soort koker in de kamer. het hotel was gesloten wanneer we arriveerden en het was er koud maar heel vriendelijk mensen.
• Rémi (6/5): - J'ai bien dormi, la literie est bonne et c'était très calme...je tiens à le souligner car c'est normal de dire les choses qui ne vont pas ainsi que les choses qui vont bien. Ça permet de s'améliorer! Communication très compliquée avec la personne sur place. Pas eu de possibilité de trouver un arrangement pour les petits déjeuners, avec la personne qui m'a "reçue". En effet, étant là pour mon travail, je ne pouvais évidemment pas prendre de petit déjeuner à l'heure proposée (8h30). J'ai dû re-payer deux petits déjeuner à l'extérieur en plus du prix de ma chambre (comprenant soit disant le petit déjeuner). Ensuite, il m'a fallu quasiment une semaine pour recevoir la facture que j'avais demandée très régulièrement tout au long de mon séjour et de la semaine qui a suivi. Manque cruellement d'éclairage au niveau du lavabo de la chambre

• Antonio (6/5): Chambre propre, petit déjeuné copieux, installation sanitaire spéciale - La chambre était propre et confortable. Vue sur l'Abbaye. Petit déjeuné très bon et copieux. Douche et toilette pas top, c'était pas super pratique. C'était conforme à la description mais du coup, odeur d'humidité dans la chambre.

Heureusement, vu les températures negatives, nous avons croisé un voisin qui a contacté le propriétaire. - Demande et paiement d une chambre quadruple car nous avons 2 enfants. Celle ci n était pas disponible une fois sur place. - Salle de bain et wc sans aucune intimité et il manquait le bain douche et le shampooing. Nous n avons donc pas vraiment pu nous laver. - Seule proposition au déjeuner : des tartines de pain blanc en sachet...

• Kees (5/5): Bijzondere ervaring in een prachtige omgeving, mooi oud hotel maar met wat verbeterpunten - Locatie is fantastisch. Behoorlijk geïsoleerd maar wel prachtig gelegen aan de rivier La Sambre en een uitstekende startplaats voor een flinke wandeling (GR129 bv). Genoeg natuur om in alle stilte van te genieten. Het hotel is prachtig, met een mooie oude stenen muur. In de buurt zijn er genoeg eetgelegenheden. En parkeren kan voor de deur. De ontvangst was matig. Hotel was gesloten en er was geen personeel. Ik stond voor een dichte deur en moest bij midgetgolf vragen of ze me in contact konden brengen met de eigenaar. Uiteindelijk kreeg ik een code om het hotel binnen te komen. Mijn kamer sleutel zou op een tafel liggen. Geen sleutel. Weer gebeld , toen gaven ze me de sleutel van een bezette kamer en uiteindelijk kreeg ik de juiste sleutel. Ik moest telkens bellen omdat bij elke actie, degene weer vertrok. Communicatie in het Engels is moeizaam. Kamer is koud en belichting kan beter. Douchen en toilet hebben ze creatief opgelost maar je moet erg opletten met de afscherming. Beloofde ontbijt is door miscommunicatie niet geleverd.

Het beddengoed of hand doeken worden ook niet opgemaakt en of ververst na de eerste nacht. Het is ook onmogelijk om contact te krijgen nadien met de eigenaar. Beantwoordt geen enkele email of via booking. Je kan hier dus geen factuur verkrijgen na de booking. LET OP AUB

I also liked the desk and the big surface perfect for unpacking & packing a backpack. The curtained shower and toilet would have made me feel uncomfortable if I had not been traveling by myself.

• Allison (4/5): Chambre confortable au calme, mais ayez une attention pour les mariés et revoyez le petit déjeuner ! - Chambre très confortable- tranquillité - calme - à proximité de notre lieu de mariage - parking juste en face - grande propreté - Le petit déjeuner : fonds de pot de confiture - un croissant par personne et insuffisant pour les 4 personnes présentes pas de café proposé, il faut le demander - un fromage a été rajouté par après au vu du peu de choses proposées. Nous avions réservé une chambre pour deux et le petit déjeuner pour 4 car des proches nous ont rejoints. Cela avait été communiqué bien à l'avance. - Aucune attention particulière alors que c'était notre nuit de noces... Grosse déception car le contact avec le patron est très bon par contre ! Il est d'une grande sympathie !

De douche en toiletcabines zijn niet echt praktisch, maar de toilet op de begane grond is ook altijd beschikbaar.

Nauwelijks ruimte in de douche. Nadat 1 persoon kort gedoucht had, was het warme water op. Geen plek om je kleren neer te leggen. Wastafel eind van de muur geplaatst waardoor de spiegel op ongeveer 1 meter afstand was, lastig met scheren. Zeer karig ontbijt.

We hadden betaald voor het ontbijt maar ‘‘s ochtends kwam er niemand en werd de telefoon van degene die ons de avond ervoor telefonisch had binnengelaten niet meer beantwoord! Ook daarna NIETS vernomen op de brief die we achtergelaten hebben
• PIETER (8/5): Overnachten met een kasteelsfeer. - Heel vriendelijk personeel, rustige ligging, de sfeer van een kasteel. De twee ronde tentjes in de kamer die respectievelijk een douche en toilet bevatten. Geen warm water meer 's morgens na 30 seconden douchen.

• Matteo (6/5): ok stay, just next to the cathedral - certainly the location, next to the abbey and resto and other amenities (mini golf) A bit noisy - rooms not really soundproofed, we could hear the steps from above pretty loud - and also mind the bar of the hotel downstairs with music until late (midnight). so if you’re planning a super calm and relaxing weekend this might not be the perfect place. Also be mindful of the trim: the single basic one is really basic (shower and toilet same room as the bedroom).

• Martin (10/5): Great place with excellent rooms - Building full of character, lovely room with a quirky shower in a curtain but the shower is brilliant falling from a high ceiling. The bar area was good, the abbey was good with a show on when we go there. The area is good for walking about with 4 other bars/ restaurants within about 800m.Tasty breakfast parking over the road but motorcycles felt safe due to the secluded area.

• Sam (9/5): Pleasant - The room in general is nice and clean. Thank you to staff because of kindness and very organized! The environment is also beautiful. The curtains are not very practical. In the toilet it gets in the way because the light is too low and I have my doubts about the hygiene of the shower curtain over time. When you take a shower in the room, the room needs to be very ventilated for humidity. So best take a shower in the morning before you leave and open windows.
• Anthony (6/5): The room was very good, but the lack of places to eat spoiled the stay - The room was larger than I expected with a super king size bed. The premises may have been recently refurbished as everything seemed new & in excellent condition. The view of the old abbey opposite was only spoiled by the heavy rain. Breakfast was good, fresh croissants & local cold meats. There are no staff on site in the evening, so had to scroll through e-mails for the access code to get in. Although there are a couple of restaurants listed nearby, they were all closed on the evening I stayed.

Funny and creative to have the toilet and the shower behind a curtain in the middle of the room. Nice view on the abbay. Good breakfast, friendly person taking good care of us. Checking is was with a key locker. The bistro of the hotel was closed (or doesn't exist anymore?) Our friend who slept alone in a room paid the same amount as us as a couple, so expensive for solo travellers

Breakfast was good unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the Monday we stayed which was a shame but there was a nice restaurant within 5mins walk. loved the room as it was spacious but not keen on the “bathroom “- especially the curtain around the toilet.The lighting in the toilet area was too dim could do with a brighter bulb.

• Harry (10/5): Beautiful scenery with friendly staff and locals - Great bedroom, unique style of interior with an interesting open shower and toilet facilities. Very well taken care of by the staff. Excellent breakfast every morning with attention to customers being a priority. As well as being kind and helpful, the staff even gave me a lift to the closest town as trains were cancelled for the day. Location is beautiful, however travelling can be expensive to get to the nearest city.

Beds where very comfortable, lovely view over the ruined abbey. Shower was good, but I would have preferred shower screen instead of curtains, which cling to you when wet, and difficult to see if the are clean.

• Van (3/5): Beautiful place with a horrible design flaw - Stunning location, beautiful old house. The abbey is well worth the visit to this village. Outrageous interior design idea. Who on earth decides to put shower and toilet in the middle of the room with a curtain around? Unhygienic, disrespectful towards privacy and decency. All the more shocking since the spacious rooms would actually have place enough to install a simple shower/bathroom module that can be closed off. My wife and I had a good laugh about it, climbed the narrow stairs 3 floors down to the downstairs toilets. And decided to never ever pay for this again.
