Guest Reviews
- Tatiana (10/5): - Amazing historical apartment very close to the center. Peter and his wife invested a lot to make it really like home and entertain their guests. Very very good place to immerse yourself in Bruges' typical life. There were drunk companies outside which were pretty loud. As it is typical for such old historical house, you can hear practically every word. But after midnight the street was very quiet. And i think this is one of the best option as the street itself is quiet and has no restaurants nearby. So this is a minor thing.
- jane (10/5): Fantastic place to stay in Bruges - Fantastic location, really friendly and helpful hosts, great beer in the fridge (honesty bar). We did the walking tour as well which we really enjoyed. We would love to return. Highly recommended.
- Anna (10/5): Perfekte Unterkunft mitten im Zentrum. - Zauberhaftes Haus mitten in der Innenstadt, bestens eingerichtet und mit sehr viel Liebe erhalten.
- Kateřina (10/5): - Host was wonderful, place was clean and nice with perfect location. Only little thing, that was not superb was the bathroom, but still, it was super nice!! Nothing
- Garlone (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Annelies (10/5): Uniek verblijf in fraaie stad - Centrale locatie, authentiek gebouw
- Marion (10/5): -

- Kristen (10/5): Love this place - Stylish unique beautiful place to stay. 100% recommend and would stay again. Peter is a wonderful and very helpful host.
- Sean (10/5): Perfect hospitality, perfect location, modern comforts in a historic building - The hosts provided perfect hospitality, answering questions in advance, welcoming us, and stocking the house with an "honesty bar" of Belgian beer and wine and other treats. They even made up a little scavenger hunt that's fun for all ages. We took advantage of the optional walking tour of the city (for a donation to the local organization the host volunteers for) and highly recommend it.
The house was absolutely immaculately clean and beautifully decorated.
The location is perfect - on a quiet street but very close to the center of town.
There are modern conveniences in a beautiful historic building. Some of the limits of the ancient layout weren't convenient, but there's not much to be done about it. The only comfortable seating (couch) is way down on the ground floor, two floors down from the bedrooms, and the only toilet is up on the uppermost floor. So there is a fair amount of going up and down stairs.
We prefer to sleep under a top sheet, but there were just two twin-sized duvets.
A fan for white noise and ventilation would be appreciated in the queen bedroom.
- Louise (9/5): Highly recommend this place - Great location. Unique house with wonderful features. Great hosts
- Johan (8/5): Voor herhaling vatbaar - Gezellig, dicht bij centrum en rustig gelegen Niets
- MICHAEL (9/5): - Great location, just a few yards from an attractive canal and 5 minutes walk from the historic heart of Bruges; also handy for restaurants, park, supermarket and bus stops (for travel to/from the railway station).
The house is very old, but carefully modernised to provide all the necessary amenities and comfort.
The owner is exceptionally helpful and attentive, devoting considerable time to welcoming us and giving us lots of useful information about the neighbourhood as well as about the house itself. Mosquitos were a problem - perhaps not surprising in summer with so many canals in the area. And you do need to mind your head as there are a few low beams.
- Keith (10/5): - Peter and Catherine were great. Peter took the time to tell us all the best places to eat. Also had a beer selection, which was great.
- Oana (10/5): Sejur minunat - Casa autentica belgiana, situata chiar in centru. Peter o gazda minunata. Mi-au placut mult vitraliile din lving si jocurile care te fac sa nu te plictisesti.
- Doreen (8/5): It was such a wonderful stay - It is a lovely place, located in the old town of Brugge, it takes only 2 minutes to get to the market place. We loved that you could basically walk everywhere. There were several restaurant choices close by, the canal is literally right at the door step and if you want to take the boat, entrance station is just a step away. Peter and Catherine are very charming and kind hosts, they showed us everything including the way to the parking garage which is only 5 minutes away. Peter turned our way back to the accomodation into a small sightseeing tour. You could tell he enjoys it a lot and carries a lot of love for this gorgeous city. They have plenty of tips to turn your visit into a charming and long-lasting memory. Best tip ever: Harp concert at the old hospital (no fee). The most wonderful experience we've had in a long time. Thank you! Mosquitos, everywhere, due to the close proximity of the canals, the long heat wave and rainy days when we visited.
- Maike (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Really excellent, owners were great and shared so much information on the locality - Super location Nothing to note but a fan for the bedrooms would be an added bonus
- Julian (10/5): Magical stay in a magical city - Our stay was excellent! The house is absolutely beautiful, much more so than the pictures show. Our hosts met us there upon arrival and gave us a warm welcome, showing us around the house and giving us some tips on restaurants and activities -- and even booked us a taxi ahead of time for the trip back to the train station! We were very comfortable, loved all the details in the decor, had everything we needed to make our stay as wonderful as the city of Bruges. The location was excellent, too, as it was close enough to the madness that is the center of town, but in a quiet street where we could relax and sleep soundly. Cannot recommend enough! Nothing, we had a great time!
- Marita (10/5): A wonderful choice for a lovely stay in Bruges. - Excellent location in a quiet street in the center of Bruges and near the canal. Fully equipped traditional house with lovely details, the best service and very kind hosts! Everything was perfect.
- Mike (10/5): Wonderful. Would Love to Stay Here Again. - A beautiful little house down a quiet side street and only a few minutes walk from the centre, the location really couldn't be better, The accommodation was immaculate and our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, doing everything they could to accommodate us. Unfortunately, we had a little 'drama' very early on the Sunday morning (our fault entirely) but Peter couldn't have been more understanding and helpful, thank you! We would love to stay here again. Nothing really. Only one small toilet on the 3rd floor, but not a problem for our stay.
- Paula (10/5): We highly recommend this beautiful house! - We loved the beautiful house and its excellent location. The hosts were very thoughtful. Nothing.
- Christian (10/5): Great accommodation and hosts! - Our stay was amazing. The house has everything you need as a family and the location is unbeatable. The owners Peter and Catherine are lovely and super helpful. We even booked a private guided tour with Peter.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Audrea (10/5): Exceptional - Very cool historic house with a great location. We were close to everything. Our host was excellent and responded to any questions we had. The house was also stocked with local beers which was a great touch. The layout of the house is a little quirky but that’s to be expected with a house built in the 1500’s! The layout was a little challenging but absolutely worth it.
- Susan (10/5): Loved it and would stay again - Loved the location and decor of house
- Gleymmerei (10/5): Lovely house - Great location, near to centrum, foodstore and playground but quiet street. Really beautiful house, good beds and all we needed. Maybe instruction manual for micro-oven would be good (but I know we would have got it if we asked).
- Louise (10/5): A wonderful getaway that makes you feel cared for! - Attention to detail and a commitment to making the stay feel comfortable and relaxing! The owner was wonderful and gave us a tour of the property on arrival. There was hygiene products, teas and coffees available and everything was so clean and tidy! The art and interior design really added a wonderful touch, not to mention the perfect location - in the centre of town, but on a little side street away from all the noise!
- Katherine (9/5): Superb -
- Joan (10/5): The hosts were extremely helpful and kind the location was ideal - centrally located but on a quiet street We felt li - Very old typical Belgian home. Lots of space and amenities.
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful old house, in some way a pity that the city was so gorgeous that we couldn't spend more time in the house. The house is located in the very city center, few minutes from the Burgplatz, but pretty quiet.
The search for the 16 mini-men was a hilarious idea :D
- Tonybarlow (10/5): Perfect short break - Peter and Catherine were great hosts, told us everything we could need made recommendations and were just brilliant. The location was perfect on a quiet street but 5 minutes to the shops and bars and bustle. Nothing
- Martino (10/5): Exceptional - Catherine and Peter top. House super Simply NOTHING
- Alice (8/5): Very good - Amazing central location. Characterful property. Double bed had very uncomfortable mattress which needs replacing - can feel every spring!
- Judy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vladimira (10/5): Nice time in Huyze Peerdenbrugghe. - Location of the accommodation is ideal to visit the central historical part of the town. The house is cozy and the landlady very pleasant and helpful, the kitchen and other rooms are perfectly equipped. We enjoyed the possibility to try a local beer and ta funny game to find small figures). Excellent.
- Mary (10/5): Would absolutely stay again on our next trip to Brugge. - Everything was outstanding - apartment, location, and hosts.
- Lisa (10/5): This apartment will make anyone happy to be in Brugge because the hosts make the experience extra special! - Everything! The location is fabulous. The charm, age of the property and architecture make this a most memorable house to stay in. Everything is there from extra blankets, games, books, beer and wine to a quiet location, comfortable furniture and a dishwasher.
- Jedda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (10/5): Fantastic authentic Bruges experience close to everything. Highly recommend. - Fantastic informative host. Only person to meet us in five weeks travel of Europe. Very glad he did.
Authentic Bruges home very close to centre of town but far enough away to be quiet and just out of the tourist bustle.
Low ceilings, art work, kitchen, small added extras which were not used but appreciated. felt like we were getting a true Bruges experience.
Plenty of room. Didn't bother us but bathroom on different level to bedrooms might bother some.
- Emily (10/5): Just perfect for our 50th birthday school friends meet up weekend! - The house is gorgeous - dating from 16th century but really well kept and comfortable.
The hosts were wonderful. Peter is also an expert tour guide and gave us a fantastic walking tour, taking us to lesser known parts and telling fantastic stories.
Very much recommend for a slightly quirky and interesting stay.
- Stephen (8/5): Lovely old, quirky, characterful house in a quiet location close to the centre of Bruges. - Great to have a kitchen so we could self cater.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, lovely house, tour by owner Peter of the city was excellent.
- David (10/5): Our home in Brugge - Beautiful medieval house with all the convenience and comfort of a modern house. Located in the heart of Bruges within a short walk to all attractions. Thanks to Peter and Catherine for making this stay a memorable one. Nothing I can think of.
- Bridget (10/5): Perfect property for a beautiful city - Great historical property, superbly located in Brugges with excellent hosts.
- Louise (9/5): Cosy stay in the centre of Brugge - Amazing old house in the middle of Brugge. We had a great time with our group. We would definitely recommend to stay here. Greetings to the tiny men
- Peter (9/5): The stay in Bruges was enhanced by the location of this property, being close to the main square. - The host, Peter was very accommodating. He added an extra bed on our request and offered good advice for visiting the city.
The building is very ornate and historical, in a great location for all the tourist sites. Nothing really to mention in this section.
The property could do with a toilet on the ground floor, the bedrooms are situated on the top floor but it's not an issue as long as you're fit enough to navigate the stairs.
- Gunn (10/5): Wonderful charming and central town house in Brugge - This is a charming little town house and our family of four with two teens loved our stay and hope to come back! The house is a wonderful mix of old and new with all you need and then some! The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were very comfortable.. And the house is full of exciting little surprises which you may or may not see when you get there! The location can not be better, right next to the canal, and barely a 5 minute scenic walk from Rozenhoedkaai and then the town centre goes on from there. Parkinghouse, restaurants and grocery shops within 5 minute walk. I would recommend the house for families with younger and older children, and of course grups of friends, but there are two stairs uo to the bedrooms.
Peter and Catherine are wonderful hosts, and gave us valuable info on the sights and what not to miss while we were there. They take such good care of this beautiful old house and their guests.
We all fell in love with the house and Brugge and truly hope to come back soon! I don't think it's a negative, but one should be aware of the stairs.
- Valerie (10/5): Exceptional - The property is centrally located amidst the historic center. The house itself is beautifully preserved but also restored to accommodate our modern taste and lifestyle. The host is the real gem...providing a unique insight about Bruges. None.
- Lynn (10/5): Fabulous stay in a unique historic property right in the heart of Brugges. - It is a spacious, unique and beautiful property that has lots of charm. It was an easy walk to the historic area of Brugges. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The hosts have a fun treasure hunt set up that we enjoyed. There are multiple floors, so that is something to note if there are travelers with mobility issues.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (10/5): Wonderful place, we hope to return. - What an amazing house. So close to the centre of Bruge but so peaceful. Our hosts could not have done more for us - meeting us personally and then coming again when we left. Our host also provided a superb and informative afternoon tour of Bruge. All the basics and more were provided. Nothing we did not like
- Steyn (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome; all was good; grear hosts
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional - The house is located on a quieter street but is very close to the centre of Bruges. The host was friendly and very helpful with suggestions about what to see and do in Buges. Highly recommended!
- Aileen (10/5): Exceptional - The cutest little house in Bruges. Set over 3 floors a great accommodation for a family of 4. A beautiful old house right in the middle of Bruge, perfect location and stocked with everything you could think of. Peter and Catherine the hosts are so friendly, kind and helpful. Highly recommend for a short stay. Though the house is split over 3 floors with the steep stairs typical of many properties in Bruge so might not be for everyone. Nothing
- Christian (10/5): Great - We liked the hosts and the information they provided.
- Kevyn (10/5): Would totally recommend this accommodation, it’s a hidden gem - Lovely hosts, amazing location, great accommodation. Nothing
- Filip (9/5): An original, welcoming and true Brugge-style experience. - Brugge is a very attractive town and gets a lot of tourist activity. Huyze Peerdenbrugghe is located within a few minutes walk of the core center of tourist activity in a more quiet area of town. You have no real noise from the visitors and get the benefits of all the attractions. While there are ample restaurants, a grocery store is close by if you want to prepare one or more meals at the B&B. Also, parking is also within walking distance and availability is good, even on busy tourist days. Finally, and most importantly, the hosts are absolutely wonderful. They made the difference in making our stay a top memory. If we plan to stay in Brugge in the future, Huyze Peerdenbrugghe would be 1st choice. Nothing, actually. The home was built in the 15th century and doesn't have the greatest ventilation. It was exceptionally warm on the days we were there and we managed just fine. Our hosts made sure we had all tools at hand to make our time there as comfortable as possible.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Great location
Friendly staff
Great looking house
- Phillippa (10/5): Amazing accomodation in a fairytale village. - Everything! It was so close to the town centre that we could pop back at any time, but far enough away for it to be totally silent. My girls loved the PlayStation and we all really enjoyed the Walking Tour with the host Peter. Nothing!
- Jenni (10/5): Wonderful experience of Bruges at this delightful cottage with absolutely everything you need for a gorgeous stay. - Beautifully presented, excellent comms and help from owners, perfect location, excellent tour with licensed host, fun search game at the house for kids and adults alike, choice of lovely options available for purchase. A second bathroom/shower and toilet would have made this perfect but did not impact overall.
- Koren (9/5): Superb - Such a gorgeous house! A great space for our family. So easy to walk everywhere in Bruges from the house and the owners were so lovely.
- Jesslyn (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Best little vacation house - The location was close to the old town centre but without the crowds or noise right outside. The house was such a good place to retreat to any time of day but then just a short walk in every direction to the sights, shops and food.
. We spent much of our time on the first floor socialising by sitting at the dining table; some comfy chairs or sofas would have made it even better.
- Bram (9/5): The perfect, quaint and charming place with everything you need in the perfect location! - Peter was very friendly and hospitable. He is also a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide which we highly recommend to start your visit to get your lay of the city and some interesting historical facts. The beds could do with new, firmer mattresses and I prefer a full duvet for the double bed.
- Alexander (10/5): Heart and soul of old Brugge - Great location and very well maintained apartment! Just keep in mind that it's a very old house, so something might seem odd (a bit squeaky floors, toilet at the top floor) but we didn't see anything critical and spent great time there!
Hosts deserve a special thanks. Very welcoming and nice people!
I'll look no further when choosing a place to stay for my next visit to Bruges! Mattresses didn't seem very comfortable but it's kind of subjective.
- Francesca (10/5): Excellent accommodation and hosts - highly recommended. - Peter and Catherine were excellent hosts and Peter's walking tour was well worth it. The accommodation is much lighter and brighter than shown in the photos, and is a really beautiful and interesting place to stay. The location is excellent, very easy walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants. Highly recommended. It would have been nice to have a sofa on the kitchen/dining level.
- Andres (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, cozy apartment, lovely decoration, wonderful accueil
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully designed house, excellent location. Peter and Catherine are welcoming and informative hosts. Highly recommend it!
- Stephen (10/5): Great location, wonderful hosts. - The location is ideal for exploring Bruges. The hosts, Catherine and Peter, were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. We had pre-booked a walking tour with Peter, a registered tour guide, and it was a fantastic introduction to the city. All was good.
- Michael (10/5): Peaceful, interesting, relaxing and cosy. - We had a wonderful stay in a lovely part of Bruges, just next to all the sights but next to an attractive and peaceful canal, so the best of both worlds. We looked forward to returning to the house after a days sightseeing and the cosy comfort it provided. Bruges is a very nice place and we continued to discover more every turn, we’d have liked to have stayed longer and experienced the tour of the area that Peter offered, hopefully we can benefit from this next time. We were shown a map with all of the local points of interest when we checked in along with good restaurants to try which was appreciated. We look forward to returning! There was nothing we didn’t like.
- Bondibland (10/5): Fantastic and informative host, loved the drinks/supplied that could be bought, beautiful and clean - Fantastic and informative host, loved the drinks/supplied that could be bought, beautiful and clean, fun game created by the hosts (created for kids, but adults love it too!)
- Noopur (8/5): If you are looking for home comforts and a real experience to enjoy Bruges, look no further! - Size, proximity to the city centre was excellent! Great facilities especially the stocked fridge and toiletries. Wonderful hosts who included the children and made sure there were activities for them also.
The provision of local chocolates was amazing from Peter’s son and the local recommendations were perfect. I have never met a host who took the time to make sure we get the most we can out of the city!
Peter made our stay feel like a home away from home. It so you of be handy to have a sofa on the 2nd floor instead of the crib to make it a family room.
The mattresses were not so comfortable and you could feel the springs in the main bed and one of the other beds.
Would have been handy to have more English breakfast tea bags as there were only 2.
It would have been great to have full size fluffy towels instead of the thin smaller ones provided.
- Vivienne (10/5): Special - Charming place to stay, don’t miss the walking tour (if Peter offers it), it’s unforgettable! Also, bring some cash as the hosts don’t accept card for the tourist tax, etc.. -
- Matilda (10/5): Truly incredible! Hosts, house and location were superb - one of the most hospitable stays we've had - The hosts (and house) were gorgeous! So accomodating, friendly and willing to help. Hosts both met us upon arrival as well as farewelled us on our departure. They provided us with a heap of 'local knowledge' incl. restaurant recommendations, nearby supermarkets, waffle places and more - it was incredible! The house itself is in the most perfect position within the old town - not too loud or busy with neighbouring tourists, but perfectly close to everything you want to see in Bruges! Gorgeous home and hosts - will definitely be staying again!
- Sam (10/5): Idealistic authentic house in the heart of Bruges - The most AMAZING place I have been! Beautiful place, the owners were so welcoming and friendly and helpful. I LOVED the little personal touches that were included. Bruges is so beautiful and our accommodation was perfect 😍 Everything was perfect could not ask for anything more!
- Tracy (7/5): Good - Owner hosts are extremely nice and helpful. Lodgings date from 1500s or 1600s, when low ceilings were OK, and when windows were fixed panes (not openable). If you are even moderately tall, prepare to duck in places. We happened to be there in unusually warm weather, so we were too toasty at times inside. Location was very good ... near (1/4 mile) to the bustling center of town but on a quiet side street. Kitchen facilities worked.
- Jacki (10/5): Great place! - Wonderful home that we would highly recommend to everyone!! We will definitely be back!
- Irene (10/5): If it's available, grab it! - Location is sensational. So close to the canal, and our host gave us loads of handy local info. This house exudes fabulous history and charm. It's a huge privilege to stay there. -
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (7/5): A beautiful house in a great area of the city with kind hosts - The location of this beautiful old house is incredible and the history of the house is fascinating. The kitchen is really well equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. The sofas in the lounge downstairs are super comfy. We felt there were two things that could have been improved for our stay: 1) The major one is the mattress in the double room, which to be honest we found extremely uncomfortable. If one person moves in the bed, the other bounces for some time afterwards. I ended up moving out to the twin bedroom to share with my daughter! 2) Whilst the lounge downstairs is lovely, it didn't get much use and it would have been great to have had a little sofa in place of the cot/ day bed in the dining area, which was a bit of wasted space for us.
- Carol (10/5): Wish I could have stayed a week just to relax and enjoy the house and town longer. - Historic beautiful house in center of Bruges and able to walk everywhere. Very quiet street. Comfortable beds. Coffee supplied. Unique stay in that owner has water, soft drinks, beers, wine for guests at low cost. I loved that convenience. Liked it ALL!
- Peterson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (9/5): Very entertaining for small children - There were toys for my kids (ages 3 & 5) and the owners hid figures around the house which entertained my kids the whole weekend. Having two single beds in the second bedroom was also amazing. We were able to walk everywhere very easily. It's an older house so the toilet is on the top floor and the bathtub is on the floor below.
- Maria (10/5): The house was amazing. It really has what it takes to make a family feel comfortable and especially a small child!!! The - Everything. the location, the host, the facilities and the baby games We loved everything. The only thing I would add for extra safety would be a non-slip mat in the bathtub
- Thomas (10/5): Couldn't have found a better accomodation for our father/son-weekend - A wonderful historic house with beautiful windows, very close to the center. A lot of helpful informations by Peter. And a well equipped refrigerator. Nothing
- Pamela (8/5): Very good -
- Zsuzsanna (10/5): One of the best accomodation where I've ever been. - Charming historical building very close to the centre. Perfect equipment, super friendly and helpful host. We spent two nigths there, I was sad, when we left it. I really recommend it!! Everything was perfect!
- Marie (10/5): It was perfect and we’d love to stay there again. - The property was very cozy and comfortable. It was very close to the town square of Bruges which made getting around the city quite easy. The hosts Catherine and Peter were extremely helpful and friendly. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. There was a lovely dining area and kitchen. It was a quiet and relaxing location. There were no faults of any kind.
- Dorottya (10/5): Gorgeus house in superb location - As I have been to Brugge 8 times before I can compare the places, so I can say it was the best spot, according to its location and facilities. It is in the very centre but in a calm and tiny street without tourits. The house has 3 levels, there is enough space even if we need some time to be be alone. Nice furniture, comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen. The fridge full of soft drinks, wine, and beer is a very good idea (even if we did not use them). The owners are flexible (we could check in at 2 pm instead of 5 pm), the communication is excellent. -
- Oleksandr (10/5): Exceptional - It was awesome. House is very cute, and exceeded my expectations. Everything was perfect 🥰
