• Catherine (9/5): Superb apartment loft. - A superb apartment, well decorated, very comfortable: a huge bathroom downstairs, laundry, terrace, well equipped kitchen, located in a lovely town. We were there as a couple but I think this place would be ideal for a family or group of friends. Nothing.
• Wayne (9/5): Enjoyable stay at Merlot Verdelho Townhouses - Roomy, well appointed. Comfortable. Great location. Private off main street.. Privacy not so good in the upstairs mezzanine bedroom section. Opens out to the main lounge area. Would suggest offering downstairs bedroom in preference to the upstairs, but second bathroom is upstairs.

• Sandra (8/5): Comfortable stay. - Good location Dishwasher didn’t work. No bath wash, but cake of soap. Outside area not inviting. Electronic gates did not function. Needs some attention.

• Tracey (10/5): Verdelho Townhouse - A perfect stay to suit all your needs - Verdelho Towhouse was simply beautiful. It was both spacious and stylish, with all the little extras added to make for a very enjoyable stay. The luxurious spa, in one of two modern bathrooms, was highly appreciated after a long drive and day of moving house. I have already recommended Verdelho to family and friends as now that I will be living in Penola, it will provide a great place for them to stay if they choose to come and visit from time to time. Thank you. Tracey I would very happily live in this property permanently and would have loved to be able to stay longer than one night, so as to relax a while. However, we had to catch the Spirit of Tas again, so it was not to be on this occasion. My only suggestions would be to have decafe coffee pods as an option of choice too and to provide the ingoing code at a set time for guests peace of mind. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

• Suze (6/5): - Very spacious We couldn't lock the front door when we went out. Contacted the rental company via the app and they came back implying we hadn't waited long enough. We had. We ended up having to put all out valuables in the car when we went out as we couldn't guarantee they were safe in the unlocked house. Really not good enough.

• Melissa (10/5): What a great way to experience the Coonawarra region. Ten stars. - This accommodation is amazing. Navigating the booking was easy. The property is central in Penola and within walking distance to all the shopping precinct and eateries. The accommodation itself is clean, spacious and caters well to the travellers needs. Well planned out design and privacy inside and out in backyard. Ideal for families with plenty of space for kids and security to keep them in front and back yard. A must to stay at when exploring the Coonawarra. Nothing. All fantastic.

We advised owner of whole house booking but were ignored. Netflix could not be used if unit next door was logged in. 2nd bedroom has no wardrobe.

Everything that was needed for a great stay was included. Loved the large spa and double shower too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and compared to other accomodation in Penola, we thought it was exceptional value. Thanks for the great stay! There's was nothing not to like.

• sampX4707SE (8/5): Excellent 1 night stay - We were grateful to get a one night booking for our party of 4 adults that required 3 bedrooms. Two double bedrooms downstairs and a huge bathroom were great for the adult singles, and we had the upstair mezzanine suite, which is not private or quiet if people are making noise or watching TV downstairs. Communication with the Owner was excellent, the place was spotless and the kitchen well equipped for cooking at home. Complimentary continental breakfast when you book direct was much appreciated. It's a minutes walk to the Pubs, cafe's and shops in Penola, but in a quiet street. We slept very well on comfortable beds. Would have been nice to spend more time here.

The design, the layout, the quality of the place and it’s finishings. The garden , the peacefulness, it’s so relaxing and easy and also how well equipped it was with all those little things you often miss when in a self catering place. Let’s not forget the lovely big bath towels and the comfortable bed. The spa bath - took far too long to fill and then one of the jets still shot water out of the bath! But let this not detract from a lovely quality property.

• 883eugenel (10/5): Luxury escape in a small historical town. - Wonderful luxurious town house perfect for families with young and old. We stayed in Verdhelo. Two bedrooms downstairs and a loft master bedroom with en suite upstairs. The bathroom downstairs is large and well appointed. Nice big bath tub. Plenty of room in the dining and lounge. Decent kitchen and backyard. Laundry facilities were very good. My only complaint is an electric BBQ which was challenging to cook tomahawks on but manageable. Penola Royal Oak is just 200m walk away for dinner otherwise. Ideal for pampering the family.

• Garry (9/5): Lovely spot in town to start your tour of the Coonawarra wine region - Great place to stop on our way to Adelaide from Port Fairy; amazing spa bath; great parking; short walk to cafes and pub for a delicious dinner; easy access to Coonawarra wine region; nice small garden where we were able to sit and enjoy a glass of wine before the rain came through! Bathroom acoustics - sound carries a little too well from upstairs loo to the living area !

• 537rachellem (10/5): Wow! Merlot is amazing!! - Stayed for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Everything has been thought of, our stay was so luxurious. The bed was a dream, slept so well! The bathrooms AMAZING!! A good size kitchen, if cooking is your thing! Lovely garden area. For a couples stay in the Coonawarra, this is a must!!!

Loved everything about this place - comfy beds, ample board games, a well equipped kitchen. Communication with Karly was great. We didn't have time to use the spa bath but would definitely come back again!
