- Casteleyn (10/5): - De rust, de natuur, de prachtige tuin en het prachtige pand
Heerlijk ontbijt👌 Eigenlijk niets
- Roberta (8/5): A pleasure. - Lovely property, fabulous host and wonderful breakfast. The stairs are challenging with luggage and the pillows are not very comfortable.
- DebbieLeeds (9/5): Wonderful accommodation with superb garden. - Friendly host.
Beautiful accommodation, with lots of stunning artwork and vintage furniture.
The grounds were beautiful and in summer it would be wonderful to sit and relax in the garden.
Breakfast consisted of homemade produce and was excellent quality.
Quiet village location. The only thing I can think of would be that none of the information was in English.

- Roy (10/5): Fab, fab, fab. - Merkem is a lovely village, very quiet. The property is adjacent to the church and has a lovely garden for guest use. We were blessed with fab weather so it was a godsend after a tiring day exploring Ypres and the surrounding area. The stairs were a bit steep but there’s not much you can do about that. The property is a former rectory and is many years old, albeit in excellent condition. Wim and Els have maintained its ambience.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb - Quite location just short distance from bike route
- Jan (10/5): Fantastic stay in B&B Pastorie van Merkem - Very nice host. Magnificent breakfast with fresh products
- Anonymous (10/5): I loved the old world charm of the place and the breakfast was delicious, especially the bread. - The host was extremely friendly and I was very appreciative that she told me about the 8pm Last Post service held every evening in respect for those who lost their lives.
- Simon (10/5): A top find. - The welcoming reception, the spacious room and decoration. The wonderful guest lounge with a comprehensively stocked honesty bar. The very generous and high quality breakfast. Also the invitation to make up sandwiches for the day's walk. The garden was quite beautiful and very tranquil. Nothing
- Claire (10/5): Fantastic, will be back - Everything, fantastic location, best breakfast ever, and most of it home grown and home made. Enough to make up a packed lunch with a bag provided.
The garden was beutiful and with honesty bar, I sat outside with a bottle of red wine and listened to the birds. Just what I needed. Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (10/5): A very thought through B&B - Easy to park outside the large property which has a beautiful garden. From here the owners produce the apple juice for breakfast. The latter was wide ranging and plentiful and of very good quality from homemade jams and yoghurt to locally sources cheese, meat and bread. We also enjoyed the chunks of chocolate! The room was large with lovely ensuite and we enjoyed the local beer (via an honesty bar) which we drank in the guests seating area in the evening. Nothing!
- Barrow (9/5): Very quiet location with friendly host and superb breakfast. - Easy parking and safe place to store our bikes. Interesting old building. The breakfast was superb with homemade and local produce. It is in a very small town and most restaurants nearby were closed apart from at week-ends. Also small warning, payment needs to be made at the property and cards are not accepted.
- Mcrae (7/5): Good - Breakfast superb. Poached egg requested was perfect. All authentic home made produce. Good choice of teas. Interrupted sleep owing to mosquitoes in bedroom. This is not the fault of the hosts and it would not deter me from returning to this excellent establishment.
- Filipe (10/5): Excellent experience!! - Very nice proprietary! They are very kind and very welcoming! Nothing. I liked everything!
- Allan (8/5): Comfortable, one night stay. - Ok for our purpose, a one night stay en route from Luxembourg to Le Shuttle. Friendly host, great breakfast. Plenty of parking on the road outside. Wifi could have been better and we understood from the Booking.com details that there would be a fridge in the room and not just a communal beer & wine fridge. Very dated, but expected in a way being the building it is.
- Marianne (10/5): A fantastic B&B - The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. She even offered us dinner as we were traveling by bike and all restaurants in the village were closed that day. The house and the garden was beautiful and the room was big and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding with homemade yoghurt, granola and applejuice, different kind of cheese from the neighbourhood, lots of fresh fruit and a lot more. It could not have been better. Everything was excellent.
- Rein (10/5): Excellent B&B with cosy rooms and an exceptonal breakfast -
- Linda (10/5): Best B&B we have ever stayed in! - Lovely house&garden, fantastic breakfast, very nice hosts!
- Paul (10/5): Fabulous! - Excellent location, magnificent house, cosy interior and furniture, royal breakfast serving regional and bio-products and food, beautiful garden, parking facilities in front of the B&B and most friendly hosts and last but not least there was Westvleteren Trappist Ale in the relaxation room 't Cafeetje'. Everything was more than excellent!
- Emma (10/5): Perfection - Third stay here and didn’t think it could improve but the breakfast is even better. A different treat each day and Wim does a fabulous poached egg too Nothing
- Ann (10/5): Very nice. - The air conditioning in our room was great as it was over 30° outside! Lovely breakfast with home grown foods. Nice big room.
- Mihail (10/5): Great place, highly recommended - - Great and calm location
- Breakfast was amazing
- The owners are very kind and supportive
- Comfortable room and pleasant garden
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was extraordinary! Lots of local and homemade products!
Loved the room decoration and overall very cozy vibes of this B&B. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming!
- Erik (9/5): Superb -
- Firouzeh (9/5): Superb - Charming BnB. Great hosts. The place is a reflection of the West Flemish region itself. Check in is between 17 and 19h.
- Jeremy (10/5): Charming B&B with a wonderful breakfast and excellent hospitality. - Breakfast was wonderful! More than we could eat but all amazing homegrown or locally sourced food.
