Guest Reviews
- Stephane (5/5): Très moyen - La piscine pour nous tous seul
La voiture garée devant
Le petit déjeuner La chambre petite et la literie peu confortable
La plage inutilisable vu la quantité de Sargasses
- Jason (10/5): - Tasty breakfast was included
Easy walk to beach
- Elisa (8/5): Great little spot, 1 minute walk to the beach. Great value for the money ! - The location was good & close to the beach. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The staff was wonderful and breakfast was delicious and made with a smile. Nothing except a noisy ceiling fan! 😀
- Wenda (7/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. I LOVED the use of the peddle bikes. The location is in the hotel zone a long walk to the village. The bikes made it doable to visit all of Hopkins as we didn’t have a car. The breakfast was good every day with some variety. We stayed 4 nights. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was also a very short walk to the beach with some hotel beachfront restaurant / bars. The pool was so very cold when we were there. (It had been unusually cool and rainy) The fountain and waterfall in the pool were not operational. Be sure to bring (and use) bug spray when at the beach or out at night. The little no-see-ums were relentless. :)
- Felix (9/5): Gutes Hotel in Strandnähe - Strandnah. Schöner Strand. Sehr sauber. Zimmer groß. Frühstück am ersten Tag war fantastisch. Frühstück am zweiten Tag hat etwas nach Reste essen gewirkt, hat aber geschmeckt. Lage zum Dorf Hopkins etwas weit.
- Staine Henderson (9/5): -
- Jen (4/5): Decent enough but didn't make us feel cozy or warm. Didn't pass the vibe check! - We liked the fact that the breakfasts were home made - but they weren't that good! The short walk to the beach was fine, as expected. Check in and check out were easy. Parking was easy. It's clear that the hotel hasn't been updated or tended to in a long time. It looks neglected. Although things are kept clean, it needs major upgrades to make it appealing and bring it up to tourism expectations. The breakfast, though included and home made, wasn't the best. We were on the main floor in an apartment and it was musty smelling. Our door was a sliding glass door with one lock. We only saw a few other people staying there, so it looks underbooked. Nobody used the pool in the three days we were there. The hotel is currently for sale.
- Muschamp (10/5): -
- Radisha (10/5): Very cozy and relaxing. We felt like we had the place for ourselves. My Son enjoyed the slide - Breakfast was on time and delicious. The dining area made it feel very homey and intimate. We spent 2 night and had different menu for each morning. The pool was a bit deep for my comfort but they had a jacuzzi that compensated for that
- Velasquez (8/5): - Breakfast was good The kitchen sink kept making noise all night
- Marguerite (10/5): - Quite, you could walk to several restaurants.
- Teck (7/5): -
- Yvonne (9/5): It was a pleasure staying here. - Very good 3 star property. The room was spacious very clean and well presented. The bathroom was clean with good fixtures and fittings-much better than any other 3 star hotel that I have been to. I have no complaints!!
- Rose (3/5): Good to have in my rear view mirror - Not much other than the staff Initially we were on bottom floor very dark room that smelled like mildew. We complained and were moved to top floor much better but the smoke detector chirped all night. Very poor value.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Room clean and comfortable - great pool and breakfast
- Zerotron (5/5): Somewhat disappointing. - The breakfast was actually quite acceptable, cooked up fresh every morning and enough to go around. It was also nice to be in a quiet part of town, relatively speaking, which made it easy to sleep. I had the overall sense of a facility being allowed to decline. It seems like the original design intention was fairly good, but far too many features are "broken" with no apparent intention of repair.
- Alice (9/5): We enjoyed our week long stay at this property. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. - We enjoyed the daily home cooked breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We were able to request room cleaning and towels as needed and the young women at the office was very helpful by booking a tour for us and investigating other options for us to drive ourselves to locations and get a tour on site. The security person also called her one day to assist us when we failed to confirm a driver pick up to go to get our rental car. They were able to solve the issue with only a minor delay for us.
- Julie (9/5): Very cool place - This place was great! The employees were kind and helpful. The property was clean and beautiful. The Italian restaurant on site was delicious. The short walk to the beach was amazing. The pool was nice. I would definitely go back! Proximity to other eateries and Hopkins town was nice too !
- Ralph (8/5): Very good -
- Veronique (5/5): Passable - The location and included breakfast was great. The room was very noisy (ceiling fan & fridge), which made it very difficult to sleep.
There was a sign asking to throw toilet paper in the garbage bin, but that bin didn't have a cover and wasn't charged everyday 🤢.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - The entire staff was nice and very accommodating but Christina was an exceptional host. I'm extremely grateful to her for her hospitality and wonderful personality. I will always look to return to this property when visiting.
- Corwin (8/5): Very good -
- Saulius (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): Typical hotel room - The breakfast was minimal, prepared in advance. There was no sea view. The hotel is part of a large complex. I got supplied a bike which was nice.
- Roger (9/5): Superb - The breakfast was savory and prepared with loving hands. The staff was exceptional. The Wifi in our room was very poor. However, it was fine in our daughter's room.
- Duforest (8/5): Very good -
- Price (7/5): Good - They need better pillows and the internet connection was not good.
- Shawn (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed the fresh breakfast cooked for us every morning. Waffles, eggs, sausages, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Georgia accommodated my wife's gluten intolerance. Very appreciated!
We rode the complementary bikes all around Hopkins. We also took full advantage of the swimming pool. Access to the beach is very close. The staff were great! Nothing to add.
- Alita (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Superb - Traveled with work therefore didnt have as much time to explore but location is great and easy to access. Lots of beach area and restaurants close by. Breakfast was always ready early to suit our needs. The rooms were kept clean, and all our needs were met. Nice little pool and gathering areas.
- Eric (5/5): Passable -
- Chelsea (10/5): Feels like a cute and cozy hidden gem - The breakfast was delicious, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. The owner was kind enough to help arrange transportation as well. The drinks at the beach bar were better than the big fancy resort down the street and better than the nearby restaurant.
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nichole (10/5): It was pleasant and breakfast was great. - The location The furniture in the room seemed a little dated.
- Kristen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kami (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (5/5): I would not recommend this hotel. - The property was old and but did have some character. The staff we did see were very accommodating. The room we stayed in was old and needed renovations but it was clean. The bathroom was nice. Caribbean Shores is obviously very old and rundown looking. It could use some major renovations. The king size “suite” we stayed in had a musty smell and the air conditioner did not work properly. The bed mattress was very uncomfortable and the sheets were “pilled” and had seen better days.
- Athenee (4/5): I am looking for possible resorts to partner with for luxury retreats, while the room was fantastic, the security guard - The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The staff (security/night watchmen and manager specifically) were unprofessional, and rude. Also we did not receive room service during our stay
- Aslakson (10/5): An amazing time, amazing staff, amazing stay!!! - The location was awesome. Near the Caribbean, within walking distance (2 minutes or less). Room was good sized, bathroom was huge and updated, decor in room was amazing. Great pool and a pool deck! Fun to swim
- Titus (8/5): Great value; clean; friendly. - Homemade breakfast was ok. Coffee was terrible; absolutely terrible, even fresh out of the pot. But then again, the coffee was terrible in nearly all of the places we stayed in Belize. (Bring your Starbucks Via Packets to Belize) Great bed. Great staff. Room was super clean. Pool was nice. Coffee. Breakfast starts too late in the morning.......We had to swtich rooms because we wanted to spend an extra day. The second room was very small but super clean. air conditioner blew right on bed. Had to put the bathroom towels on the bed to stay warm. Could not figure out how to turn down the thermostat.
- Grace (10/5): Nicest place we stayed on our 8 day trip to Belize. Room was gorgeous and very affordable. - After our checkout we went to the beach at the resort that connects to the Caribbean shores. We bought some cocktails, amazing ceviche and enjoyed the calm non crowded beach.
- Ludovina (8/5): Very good - The breakfast
- Sandra (8/5): Overall good value for the price and a pleasant place to spend the weekend. - Rosa in the office was very helpful and we appreciated her direction re: access to the beach nearby and reserving a taxi. Breakfast was very good and we were happy that it was included in the price. It was our first time in Hopkins and we didn't realize how far we were from town, but came to appreciate the quiet at night and the good restaurants nearby. We did walk into town and got the flavor of downtown Hopkins and enjoyed what local businesses had to offer. Our first floor room had a faint odor of mustiness when we first arrived, but that seemed to dissipate quickly when we left the door open for a few minutes and used the fan rather than the aircon.
- Shawn (5/5): Over all it is a great little place, in dire need of some TLC to bring it back up to where it should be for the nightly - Location is great :) Georgina makes a great breakfast! The place is in dire need of a paint job and maintenance.
- Calioutdoors (10/5): Exceptional - This property is centrally located for easy adventures. And worked out great for me! Staff was great!! So so nice!! I like being outside so Would have liked more lounge areas/ or chairs on the grounds. I asked for a chair outside my room and they immediately placed one for me. As noted in other reviews, it is behind another property, pretty much beachfront. Path is provided and easily accessible! And the staff at that resort in front are also very very welcoming and let me use their beach stuff!
Night 2, l literally thought I was home for a moment, the room was so comfortable. I have to mention, I have hip arthritis so it is very hard to sleep if beds are not comfortable, I slept solid through the night! I was also on the ground floor on street side, didn't hear much street noise as people walk here.
It didn't have fridge or coffee maker as advertised, but the staff immediately set up a little coffee station for me in room and said i could use their fridge where breakfast was served. Really nice folks.
- Jeannie (7/5): We wouldn't stay again - place is rundown - This place is OK - the room was actually great - large and a huge bathroom. We were the only ones staying there, so we had the pool to ourselves. We had emailed them weeks earlier about an early departure and asking for breakfast to go. This seemed to be a problem, so we offered to cook our own breakfast, meaning we got up at 5am to do so. Also, the rest of the place is run down. Not that clean - broken microwave sitting around, very dirty rooftop terrace with old cigarette butts everywhere. Also, it is NOT on the waterfront. You have to walk through another resort to get to the beach and then use their loungers. Kind of awkward. The receptionist acted like everything was a burden. We wouldn't stay again. Maybe if it was half the price!
- Oksana (10/5): Great place, 2-3 mins walk to the beautiful beach, staff were very helpful. - Enjoyed my stay at Caribbean Shores. All staff were very nice and helpful. Christina (Property Manager) couldn't be more accommodating. Not only she moved my reservations due to a flight delay with no charge, she has been very helpful to book and provide best advice on tours, activities, transportation and places to eat. Breakfast was always ready and fresh for the time requested.
- Castro (5/5): Passable - Location was good The place was flooded you had wet feet they said they gave me an upgraded room which was like an apartment and when you're 70 and the bathroom is 20 feet away it makes it hard
- Jaison (9/5): Awesome stay, thanks Caribbean Shores team! - Christina and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
- Ty (10/5): fantastic. staff was great, pool facilities were great -
- Cliff (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was fantastic. Christine, Tyler and Georgia are by far the most polite, accommodating and helpful persons I have interfaced with in years. Fantastic team who makes the trip absolutely memorable. The facility is also very clean, central and the rooms are really nice. Excellent value for money. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip in a few months.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, good breakfast, nice pool. Nothing
- James (7/5): Good -
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Staff exceptional, very clean and great breakfast too! Nothing
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Betty (9/5): Superb - Nice pool, nice room, close to restaurants and beach.Staff was very friendly and helpful, I would definitely stay here again. Nothing, everything was good.
- Gordon (7/5): Good - The breakfast was very good.
- Aveline (7/5): Good -
