Es necesario bajar unas escaleras para entrar a la casa, entonces es importante que lo tengan en cuenta ya que yo iba con una persona con discapacidad y era más difícil para él bajar y subir.

• Mariel (7/5): Mixed review - Don’t expect to use the kitchen and you’ll be fine! - Nice house, clean & tidy, good bucolic location, good WiFi. The room was nice, cozy & comfortable. However, I found the hostess very over-bearing. On Booking, it states there is a communal kitchen and I made my booking in part because of that. When I tried to use it the first time to boil water for coffees, I got the distinct impression I was stepping on toes. So I confirmed that the kitchen was communal, as per the listing. She said yes, but I needed to pay 5,000 for the gas (not stated anywhere when booking). Fine. Then she said we weren’t allowed to drink our coffees in our rooms. Fine. When I tried to use the kitchen later, I again felt uncomfortable as she came swooping in to help me (which I didn’t need). Kitchen was locked in the AM the next morning. Any time the hostess heard someone in there, she would come rushing in. I’d like to say it was out of kindness to help me find things, but it really didn’t feel like that. When preparing dinner the 2 nights, she literally sat in the corner of the kitchen and watched us. In general, it was an unpleasant experience. I would recommend the place only if you plan to eat out or if you plan to have the hostess prepare your meals. I would absolutely not recommend the place if you want to cook for yourself. Hot water is a trickle - you turn the water on the lowest pressure possible for it to be warm. You have to ring the doorbell & wait anytime you want to be let in (no key to the front door). Unexpected charge for kitchen use. Unpleasant lack of autonomy in the kitchen.
• Davide (9/5): Idyllic place made even greater by the owner, but with some limits (and biting dogs). - The owner, Eugenia, is fantastic, so gentle and available to give information. A really sweet person. She even helped me with a medical problem that I had. Since there were no other hosts, I was upgraded to a better room for free. The view is wonderful, the place (full of flowers and cows) is idyllic. The center is just 10 minutes by walk. Excellent value for the price. The place is isolated, with no road to reach it, so you have to walk across a field to reach it. One evening while coming back I was bitten by the neighbor's dog, and this fact ruined my experience because I had to go to the hospital to check for possible rabies exposure (again, doña Eugenia was sweet and available to help). The house door is always locked, therefore to enter or exit the place you need to call the owner. Sometimes this is annoying. The shower was quite cold (and the temperatures there are really low, especially at night).

• Janneke (6/5): Pleasant - The lady that owns the place is really super friendly. The toom was spacious. Breakfast was okay. It is difficult to reach. You have to cross a field. With luggage this can be a challenge. It has no kitchen or coffee making facilities.

They also offer delicious breakfast for a great price with their own homemade cheese!! It is a 10minute walk from the main plaza, which allows you to be just outside the town center and feel a little more in the mountains, a 20minute walk to a really nice river. 100% reccomend!
• Gessner (10/5): Exceptional - Very familial atmosphere, I enjoyed the conversations and the warm welcome. It feels more like a homestay than a hotel. The place is very quiet with a nice view. You can get very tasty homemade meals there for a very good price. Also the hosts have contacts to guides to the páramo. Highly recommended. It's a bit hidden, you have to cross the football field. Eugenia is very responsive though, hence I found the place very quickly.

• Shannon (9/5): Perfect stay in Mongui - Eugenia was so kind and accommodating. You really feel welcome and taken care of. The room was small but perfect. The hotel is just far enough outside of town so that it is super quiet (with amazing views) but still close enough that you can walk to town in 5-10 minutes. The area is really safe and there are some nice restaurants in town. I highly recommend staying here when in Mongui. The water wasn’t always super warm when showering.
