• Pascal Götzmann (9/5): - Die Unterkunft hat die perfekte Lage, um am Strand zu entspannen. Jeden Morgen werden Liegen aufgestellt. Meine Freundin und ich waren meist die Einzigen weit und breit. Wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Innerhalb von 30 Minuten mit dem Auto ist man beim Manuel Antonio Nationalpark und bei den Nauyaca-Wasserfällen. Unser Zimmer war sauber und es gab alles, was man zum kochen brauchte. Da es keine richtigen Fenster gibt, wird es im Zimmer mit der Klimaanlage nicht so kalt, wie in anderen Zimmern mit Klimaanlage. Für meine Freundin und mich war das aber nie ein Problem. Wir konnten immer gut schlafen. Für das Frühstück konnte man zwischen Omelette, Rührei und Pancakes wählen. Dazu gab es immer Früchte, Kaffee und Saft.

• Raeann (10/5): Just what we were looking for!!! - We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The staff is so nice and the breakfast each morning was beautiful served in the garden area. We loved the beach and could walk for miles. Most of the time it was only us and our dogs. It was really great to be out of the high tourist area of Manual Antonio. The little town had a couple of good restaurants to choose from, which was perfect. Just a great stay all around. Can't think of a thing.

• Raphael (9/5): Wir waren sehr zufrieden. - Der Strand ist unglaublich schön und nur wenige Meter von den Zimmern entfernt. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war sauber und wurde jeden Tag frisch gemacht. Wir hatten leider bei der Buchung übersehen, das bei unserem Zimmer das Bad separat ist. Mussten deshalb immer aus dem Zimmer und in das Bad gegenüber. Das sollte bei der Buchung beachtet werden.
• Fred (6/5): Schöner Ort zum Entspannen am Meer in der Nähe zu San José. - Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Strand, welcher wiederum recht schön ist. Ideal zum entspannen, besonders wenn man es etwas ruhiger mag. Von der Unterkunft aus kommt man mit dem Auto sehr gut zu verschiedenen Attraktionen, von denen es in der Gegend einige gibt. Ich fand die Unterkunft, gemessen an der Ausstattung, nicht sonderlich preiswert. Allerdings muss man in Costa Rica immer das Gesamtpaket von Unterkunft und Lage berücksichtigen. Von daher war es dann schon einigermaßen in Ordnung.
• Marcel (4/5): Viel zu teuer mit dem was geboten wird. - Direkter Zugang zum Beach Die Zimmer sind extrem klein und sehr schlecht ausgestattet. Toiletten befinden sich außerhalb des Zimmers in einem anderen Gebäude. Die Mitarbeiter sind äußerst hilfsbereit doch die Besitzerin ist nur geil auf Bewertungen. Die Fotos von booking sind von den größeren Unterkünften und nach Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt dass wir in die Abstellkammer ziehen müssten

• Jesus (6/5): - Con mucho, lo mejor era la localización. Al pie de la playa. Estuvimos en el apartamento más próximo a la playa, en una planta baja, que esta lleno, lleno de trastos y cosas que no hacían falta para nada: figuras, cuadros. Parecía más bien casi un almacén de cosas para el resto de los apartamentos. Lo peor fue que no había ventanas, sino lamas, que estaban rotas y no se podían abrir. En Costa Rica,. y tener que estar de dia con todas las luces encendidas porque no había manera de mantenerlas levantadas: rotas. El sitio excepcional, el servicio muy amable. Muy caro? el sitio lo vale, pero la casa no.
• Kara (10/5): Perfect location at a not very busy beach. - Location is fantastic. RIGHT on the beach that is not very crowded. The breakfast in the morning was great with choice of eggs, omelet and pancakes. You cannot beat the view. Staff were helpful in finding sloths in the trees. My only "complaint" is that it would be helpful to have a microwave in the kitchen and the wifi actually in our room was not great, but was fine just outside our room. Those inconveniences were very small and I would definitely stay here again.

Location is wonderful, just on the beach, beautiful Palm trees, flowering bushes, plenty of birds. Friendly staff, eager to help. Easy communication with the owner, fast and prompt ly. We enjoyed our stay.

• Gerd (10/5): WOW WOW WOW Was für ein Juwel! Beste Unterkunft unserer Reise durch Costa Rica! - Das war die beste Unterkunft auf unserer Rundreise, ein echtes Juwel, in einer unglaublich schöne Lage, sehr ruhig und abgelegen und einem direkten Strandzugang zu einem traumhaften und sauberen Sandstrand, fast ganz ohne Menschen, dafür mit kostenlosen Strandliegen. Unser wunderschöner Strand-Bungalow Nr. 3 war vielleicht 50 Meter vom wunderschönen Sandstrand Matapalo entfernt, soviel besser als bei vielen Luxusstrandhotels. Die Außenanlagen sind sehr ordentlich und gepflegt und es gibt zusätzlich eine wunderbare Außendusche mit warmen Wasser, wenn man vom Strand kommt. Top war auch, dass man viel Privatsphäre hatte. Der Bungalow selbst war komplett neuwertig renoviert und wunderschön bis ins kleinste Detail wertig ausgestattet, viel schöner als die Fotos es zeigen. Außerdem absolut sauber und gepflegt. Toll sind auch die hübschen Strandtücher, welche wir gut gebrauchen konnten. Vorm Bungalow ist eine überdachte Terrasse mit zwei sehr bequemen Stühlen, wo man im schönen tropischen Palmengarten schon einige Tiere wie Geckos, Leguane und unterschiedliche Vögel beobachten kann. Ach ja... sogar 4 Faultiere im Baum neben den Häusern. Die leben da wohl schon länger :-) Das im Garten servierte leckere Frühstück bei Meeresrauschen unter Palmen war echt lecker und das Personal superfreundlich und immer bemüht uns zu verstehen, da wir kaum Spanischkenntnisse haben. Supermarkt und ein Restaurant sind zu Fuß in ca. 15 Minuten zu erreichen. Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist hier genau richtig! Eine wirklich sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft, fast zu schön um wahr zu sein und wir hätten tatsächlich unserer Reiseroute nochmal geändert und wären zurückgekommen, wenn der Strand-Bungalow frei gewesen wäre. ;-) Diese Unterkunft hat unsere Erwartungen mehr als übertroffen, weshalb wir sie aus ganzem Herzen zu 100 % empfehlen können. Hier stimmt einfach alles. DANKE Uns hat alles perfekt gefallen!
• Annie (4/5): Amazing location, but do not book the budget double room. - The location is incredible and having the ability to walk out to the beach at any time is amazing. The two men who worked around the property were so kind and took time to point out sloths for us! We felt the booking was very falsely advertised. The booklet describing the property in NO way describes the room we stayed in. There was no kitchen, there were ants everywhere, there was nowhere to sit down when it rained and you were all sandy and wet. It honestly felt like we were camping- which is not how the room/property was advertised and we couldn't wait to get out of that room. We expected the "budget" room to be small, but we couldn't even open our suitcase all the way.
• Lisa-Marie (10/5): einmaliger Aufenthalt im Paradies - Unglaublich schöne Lage, sehr ruhig und abgelegen, traumhafter Strand, sehr freundliches Personal, welches sich bemüht einen zu verstehen, wunderbarer Service, super leckeres Frühstück, direkter Strandzugang mit fast keinen anderen Menschen in Sicht, tolle Ausstattung, die mehr als unsere Erwartungen übertroffen hat, direkte Antwort vom Gastgeber, sehr fairer Preis, es war fast zu schön um wahr zu sein eigentlich nichts zu bemängeln, wenn man ganz alleine in der Unterkunft ist (da Regenzeit) ist es evtl als Frau etwas unheimlich aber das ist persönliches Empfinden

• Michael (8/5): Ein wunderschöner, ruhiger Ort zum entspannen. - Der Platz ist einfach traumhaft. Von unserer Hütte (Nummer drei) waren es 50 m bis zum Meer. Wir hatten eine kleine, gut überdachte Terrasse mit zwei sehr bequemen Stühlen drauf. Das Frühstück wurde im Garten serviert, wobei man unter Palmen sitzt und von Papageien, Affen(die nicht aufdringlich waren) und vielen anderen schönen Tieren wie Geckos, Leguane und viele unterschiedliche Vögel beim Frühstück unterhalten wurden. Auch ein Mutter Faultier mit Baby hat es sich in einer Palme direkt neben unserer Hütte bequem gemacht, Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt und wir können diese Unterkunft inmitten des Dschungels einfach zu 100 % weiterempfehlen. Rein gar nichts!

• Grethel (4/5): - Nada soy sincera Todo; la ubicación no me gustó y principalmente el trato de una muchacha que estaba ahí cuando llegué le pregunté unas cosas y medio me contestaba fue poco empatica; y luego la casita que pagué incluía desayuno pero la sorpresa que me llevé el desayuno fué extraño en mi vida me había pasado eso solo.era huevos dos tajadas de un pan que olía a super viejo y unos pankekes que pidió mi hijo y la harina olía a vencida fue algo desepcionante nos fuímos sin desayunar y pagamos un desayuno que era una tragedia de peligroso a intoxicarse un lugar donde nadie llega es solo dormimos sin vigilancia no hay recepción hay que comunicarse con la dueña desde USA y no sabe hablar español es algo abrumador la verdad tuvimos que dormir solos nos sentimos inseguros.

• Chantal (10/5): Petit coin de paradis au bord de l’océan - Emplacement des bungalows à deux pas de l’océan disposés dans un superbe jardin, dans lequel se côtoient paresseux, iguanes, lézards, capucins, et oiseaux.. Nous avions un bungalow au sol et un en hauteur, tous les deux joliment aménagés. Petite préférence pour le bungalow en hauteur. Ceux-ci disposaient de douches extérieures très pratiques pour le retour de l’océan et d’une terrasse ou d’un balcon. Les employés étaient très sympathiques et au petit soin. La plage est superbe, très vaste et très intimiste car peu fréquentée à cette période de l’année.

David, our host, was incredibly kind and welcoming - he went out of his way to show us sloths, monkeys, and other incredible local wildlife, making our experience feel magical from the very start. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to each day. One of the biggest highlights was the direct access to the beach. Whether you’re looking to relax or catch some waves, it’s an ideal spot for surfing and enjoying the ocean. The whole vibe of the place is peaceful and beautiful, and Carmen’s hospitality made it feel like home. We left feeling so relaxed and happy. We can’t wait to come back !

• Suzi (9/5): Gorgeous setting, beautiful room, good breakfast! - Absolutely beautiful property right on the beach. 2 resident sloths, and monkeys came by each afternoon. The room itself was lovely, very clean, nicely decorated, and the view was perfect! Breakfast was simple, but delicious: choice of eggs or pancakes either fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. I went horseback riding (highly recommend!) Nothing. If the hammocks or lounge chairs aren’t out, just ask, and they will happily set them up.

• Larissa (10/5): Exceptional - What a gem in an idyllic setting, right on the beautiful beach, with iguanas and monkeys running among the palm trees. A great spot to relax or catch a surf. An exceptional staff, kind people who take visible pride in their work. Carmen is great, responds quickly, and goes the extra mile to make sure you have a pleasant stay. And the pancakes for breakfast are perfect! We will surely be back ;-)

• H. (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location, directly adjacent to the beach, miles of sandy beach without stones. All you can hear from the apartment is the surf. You are wonderfully alone here, there are no distractions on the beach, no sales, no activities. The road behind the house is not very busy. The grounds are beautiful, you can lie under trees in the shade, breakfast is served on the terrace, simple but delicious. The staff on site were very nice, the boy showed us the sloths several times. The Cappuchino Monkeys came very close every day across the grounds. They are a bit aggressive and like to steal. But with a bit of distance it was a great spectacle. There is a fairly expensive supermarket within walking distance. We really liked it there. In terms of location, it was the best accommodation of the trip so far. Light on the balcony was very bright, from the second day it was completely broken. The blinds were broken and did not stay open. No ATM in the village. Unfortunately we only stayed there for three nights.

• V (4/5): Dreamy minus any contentment. - location right next to beach The accommodation was a big let down but not as big as the ensuing back and forth communication with the owner. We arrived to the bungalow early but then wasted the entire afternoon that we wanted to spend on the beach trying to communicate with the caretakers about a number of issues. On inspection, turned out the kitchen was not the ‘full’ kitchen but more of a mini-kitchenette. Really bad was the gas stove which did not work, even after a few hours of the caretaker trying to fix (including leaking gas and a blow-out that was scary since its gas!!) and which at the end was unfixable. The BBQ that had to be taken out of storage and setup, including a last minute spray-painting job??. We had sent an email before arriving to ask about the kitchen facilities and BBQ and was assured both were there and available. Most of the blinds in the room were broken. The toilet seat was not screwed on. The shower would not drain so after a 5min shower, it became a 6 inch-deep swimming pool. We sent a detailed email to the owner about all these things and got the response that the previous houseguests the previous week did not have any issues and it (the stove) was new. At least we got to see the sunset before promptly leaving the next morning and, after we were treated to a surprise free breakfast which we did not sign up to when booking the accommodation. Must have thought that that would smooth things over. We were clear during our initial communication with the owner that we did not think that we should have to pay the full price - that was ignored. It took almost a month after returning home and several more emails, to get a small refund. The bungalow issues can be fixed but poor handling and judgement in dealing with guests communicating legitimate concerns and more importantly, trying to pretend there were no issues, cannot.
• Donna (1/5): Falsely described to lure us in, then charged for a room we did not stay in! Horrible experience. - We had high hopes based on other reviews and the location, but unfortunately this hotel did not meet any minimum standard. The room we booked was not what we were provided upon check in: we were supposed to have a bungalow with a kitchenette - it sounded nice with access to a nice beach. Instead we were provided a small room, with no kitchen and no bathroom (the bathroom was outside, in another building, with a locked door that was difficult to open). There was an outdoor cooking area but it was dirty, unkept and honestly I'm not sure if the cooking appliances would have even worked they were sold old and derelict. The beach and lounge chairs weren't as nice as shown in the photos. We didn't stay as it was not at all what we had reserved through Booking.com. I sent a message to both the hotel contact and to Booking.com before we left the property (while we were in a wi-fi zone) to say we were not staying. The property host responded immediately and everything seemed ok. However, when we got home, we saw on our credit card that the hotel charged us full price for the room that we booked (not the lower-cost room that they tried to give us), even though we didn't even stay there. I have been trying for almost 30 days to get a refund and the hotel isn't responding to me, and Booking.com's customer service has been frustrating and useless.
• Megan (8/5): Comfortable, exotic, beachfront beauty - The Beach was one of the nicest we experienced in Costa Rica, soft black volcanic sand with so many sand dollars scattered around. The Lower bungalow we stayed in was large, comfortable and clean with a well equipped kitchenette. There are monkeys and iguanas that visit daily that were so fun to see. The local Soda Kachete was amazing with large portions and fresh ingredients at a reasonable price, we ate dinner and lunch there multiple times throughout our stay. La Parcela was a nice restaurant about 15 minutes away and came recommended by the owner. The food was delicious and location was right on the water. we originally booked the Backpackers room but found it too small for our liking and luckily the owner had another room available she was able to move us too. The units don't have glass panels in any of the windows which made for a louder and less private experience. Windows still had screens and wooden shutters Location is 45 minutes from Manuel Antonio and abut 15 from Dominical, we were thankful to have a car rented. As mentioned there are good restaurants not far from the hotel. wifi in the backpackers unit was spotty at best lower bungalow wifi was good. Staff were locked out of the main breakfast area so we weren't able to eat there one morning. The next morning we were offered options for the included breakfast but the breakfast following food was just brought out with no option. Breakfast was standard scrambled eggs or pancakes, no Gallo Pinto.
• Julia (10/5): Like a Dream - paradise on Earth! - Wonderfull location on the beach, amazing garden with palm trees and delicous breakfast. The Bungalow was very clean and beautiful furnished, we felt very comfortable and warm welcomed during our whole stay. We stayed for two nights and wish that we could have stayed longer. Definitely recommend it!!!
• Michael (1/5): Incredibily overpriced. Stressful - Location ideal Property did not correspond to photos on booking. The proprietor offered me the photographed property for double what I’d paid. Given the late hour it was impossible to find another property, so the offer amounted to extortion. Then I spent the afternoon dealing with rusty keyholes, and hadn’t got the air conditioner working till 9:30pm. The property is well positioned, but old and no effort has been put into making it beautiful or even comfortable . Eventually I found a satisfying stay for half the price
• Simon (9/5): Superb - all 3 rooms are in front of the ocean and amazing beaches. its very calm and peaceful. perfect spot to relax or do nearby activities. we stayed 2 nights and would have stayed more days if we knew how beautiful the place is. coffee machine and coffee was in the room as well as ac and fridge. hammock and beach loungers are set up at the beachfront for guests but the beach itself is wild. monkeys came by every day.

• Shannon (4/5): Lots of potential but lackluster for the price. Not at all close to Manuel Antonio. 100.00 USD for round trip transporta - The location to private beach. Sloth viewing from patio. Pretty landscaping. Kind staff The check in was difficult after a long day of travel. The property was advertised as having AC but there was only an undersized unit in the bedroom only. The inside was dated and bed was uncomfortable.
• Esther (10/5): Beachfront hotel on a secluded, peaceful beach - Location was right on the beachfront. Staff was friendly and let me leave my bags there early and check in early, with very little notice. The bathroom was separate to the room, however it was still a private bathroom and it may well be that it’s only separate for the budget rooms.
• Kasi (6/5): Great location but uncomfortable welcome - The location was great and right on the beach. The room was simple but nice. When I arrived it was clear that no one was expecting me. I had to look around a lot to find someone, and then he didn’t know what I wanted. I was sent a Paypal invoice via booking.com, but none of the links worked so I was unable to pay. I had to pay in cash and the property didn’t have change.
• Sharon (9/5): Superb - The room was lovely and very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed including a coffee machine. The location on the beachfront was excellent and the grounds were very well maintained. The team were very helpful and even arranged a night tour in the jungle for us. Nothing!

• Alena (10/5): paradise on earth - this was the best stay we had during our three week trip around Costa Rica. The secluded location, the amazing wild life right in front of the bungalow, the sunsets in front of our porch, the waves crushing rocking us to sleep. it was perfect and the most amazing end to our beautiful trip. when we come back, this will be the place we will return to straight away 🙏🏼 that we booked only 3 nights
• Carol (10/5): Very Dreamy - Beautiful beach. The villa we rented had vintage character and was clean and comfortable. Staff was super nice and kept us informed if there was something cool to see, such as monkeys, sloths,etc. Also very nice breakfast served outside each morning. Not a dislike, but it's in a very small community but there is one close-by store and one restaurant that is within walking distance. We liked the super quiet location.
• Gabriela (4/5): Disappointing - I can't say much about it as we arrived in the evening when it was dark, so we couldn't see much more then the cottage we booked. It is a seaside complex with different houses/cottages. Our cottage was tiny and the bathroom was outside the room, crossing a path approx. 3 meters to get there. There was nothing about it in the German description which seems to be kind of different from the original one in English. I have to say that all looked clean, but at night in a dark area directly at the street, it felt really uncomfortable to me. I suppose that male backpackers would have less issues with it. In the room description, all kind of rooms are shown. This gives the impression that the furnishings are the same in all the houses, which is not the case.
• Patricia (1/5): VERY disappointing! never again stay here - nothing No hot water as advertised , no place to sit and relax in the room, no tv, no lounge chairs as seen in photos , no English speaking staff or communication with anyone to resolve any issues. We left after 1 night even though we paid for 3 nights. Lost our money of course. Nobody has even called to apologize or try to resolve these issues. We tell anyone to stay clear of this misleading property !!

• Taragh (9/5): our visit to dreamy contentment was just wonderful! - the location, beach, daily breakfast, staff, local sloth, and occasional monkeys were fantastic. There are things that could use updating but the bedroom AC was cold and the internet worked well. my recommendation is that this place is amazing and fantastic just how it is- but be upfront and truthful about what that is. For example- futon- it’s outside…so it’s not really a sleeping option BUT- it makes for an amazing morning coffee spot or star gazing spot at night. seriously- this place is natural and pure and so so great.
