• Rebecca (8/5): Perfect location, extremely comfy bed but property more worn than expected and extra charges for extra heating (if trave - The location is PERFECT so close to everything at walking distance, property is on a beautiful quiet canal. The bed was extremely comfortable, shower was also fab. Echoing other reviews the property only locks from inside the room. This wasn’t an issue for us just a bit inconvenient. Property is more worn now than the photos suggest, and we also had issues with some of the electrical wiring near the bed. No ‘kitchen’ as such (but lots of plates cups etc and a sink in the bathroom)- a microwave would have been perfect for the leftovers we inevitably brought back. My final gripe would be the heating, encouraged not to use it, you can pay extra to use the oil burner but it was a VERY cold weekend we chose and I felt cold in the property more often than not (at a hotel this wouldn’t be an issue). HOWEVER, given the cleanliness, ease of check in/ check out and the location, would likely be back again planning around the above. Many thanks to the team.

We understand the reason for this. Although it was a lovely clean apartment, it is in need of some fresh paint, the whole place looked very tired. We also had some concerns with the electrical wiring. Not sure if it would pass safety inspections.

The bed was super cozy and the place is very spacious. It is in a very quiet location! There is a small fridge and counter for meal prep but no sink in the main area, just in the bathroom.

• Anja (6/5): Gut für ein verlängertes Wochenende. Wie besseres Hotelzimmer, nur ohne Service. - Lage ist top. Es ist ruhig und sehr günstig zum Hauptbahnhof und Innenstadt, im Grachtenviertel gelegen. Die Dusche war klasse! Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Kühlschrank, etwas Besteck, Geschirr sind vorhanden. Viel Platz. Die Wohnungstür ist NICHT abschließbar. Die Heizung war sehr schlecht bedienbar. Beim Ankommen waren 17 °C, nach Heizungsversuchen wurden es 26 °C. Im Bad blieb es kalt. Eine vernünftige Temperatur war nicht einstellbar. Die Fenster sind sehr undicht und nur durch starke Personen zu öffnen. Die Tür zum Patio war abgeschlossen, der Flur zum Bad eiskalt. Als Bodenbelag würde ich keinen (inzwischen schmuddeligen) Teppich wählen.
• Caoimhe (8/5): We loved every minute of our stay, and thanks to the location of the property we were able to get around easily.the comm - Spacious apartment in a gorgeous location, 5 min walk to the centre. Quiet and peaceful area. The apartment itself was clean, tidy and had everything needed for our stay in Amsterdam. The place was immaculate and we couldn’t fault it apart from 1 thing. Although it wasn’t an issue for us this time, the door to the apartment couldn’t be locked from the outside. It was a small, weak snob on the inside (similar to one used in a toilet stall) meaning that when we left for the day, anyone in the building could enter. The main entrance door was locked, so only those staying in the building could access the apartment. This was not made clear before booking. Had we been staying for longer than 2 nights and had more valuables with us, this would have been off putting. The safe provided would not have been large enough to store all our stuff - as a woman I would say that my makeup, skincare, handbag and some clothing items count as ‘valuable’ and it didn’t feel right leaving them in the room all day whilst I was gone, with no lock on the door. Replacing the current inside lock with one fit for purpose would also help the situation as anyone could barge through the door with force if they wanted to.

We had to wash up kitchen items in the bathroom sink. No draining board or rack. Cleaning sponge was dirty (maybe used for bathroom prior to our visit). We lodged a complaint with Booking.com and never received a reply.

• David (3/5): We would not stay there again. - Location Nothing was done properly. Maintenance was very poor quality. No Airconditioning or fan. No way to lock the room when out and about.

The bed was in the same room as the living room across from the kitchen area which did not have a sink. There was no AC or lock on the door. The safe was broken. The windows in the front opened but not those by the kitchen/bed area. There was a small high window in the bathroom that opened. A door to a small courtyard was locked so overall it was warmer than desired. The carpeting throughout needed cleaning or replacement. The closet was minuscule and iffy.

• Bryan (8/5): Bright and well located apartment - We enjoyed the space and light. The bed was great and it was enjoyable to see the artworks in the apartment. The bathroom was fresh and very clean. The lounge area was comfortable. It would be good to provide some updated cups and plates. Some were chipped and cracked. Some plates cups and cutting boards were not very clean, possibly providing a tap and sink for the kitchen space might help with cleaning dishes (instead of minimal sized sink space in bathroom). A sharp knife to slice bread would be useful too.

• Kim (9/5): Beautiful location in the heart of old Amsterdam - very quiet with picturesque canal views. - Excellent location - next to canal and within easy walking distance to Central Station, Anne Frank Huis and other local attractions. Nice apartment - fairly well appointed. It would have been nice to have extra pillows, blankets and more tea/coffee making supplies.
• Mohammed (1/5): Bad - The only good thing about the accommodation is the location only, it was full of dust and we found a crawling insect in the spoons and in the end we couldn’t stand it anymore so we decided to book a hotel because my husband is allergic to dust. There is no hot water only in the shower. I prefer a clean and far place and not a nearby place full of dust, what a waste of money.

• Stéphanie (5/5): Nice location but needs some improvements - Great location (calm but really close from the center, shops, bars) , comfortable bed The apartment was not really clean: you can see that the rug hasnt been cleaned for a while, there is mold in the bathroom ceiling, dust a bit everywhere. The room doesnt lock from the outside. The owners could enter the room at any time when you are away. I personally had issues feeling safe. The "kitchenette" area is really disappointing: not enough cutlery (like 2 forks, 2 butter knives.. no teaspoons) and no sink so you cant even wash the dishes properly. We werent expecting a real kitchen, we knew that we wouldnt be able to cook a meal, but we hoped we could easilly eat a takeway home, or even eat a little apero before going to the restaurant. I couldnt use my hairdryer in the bathroom as there was no electric plugs that works in there. Also there is a window in the bathroom with no curtain.

• Mia (9/5): More than wecould’ve imagined, perfect we loved Amsterdam!! - The location was unreal. We loooved staying on the canal 😍 Super central to all markets, cafes, red light district & more! The neighbours had a private party DJ set that literally went til 2am in the morning, so no sleep for us haha. Notice would’ve been nice haha Other than that - nothing. If anything, hard not having access to kitchen, or washing machine just because we have been travelling, but we made do.

The main issue is related to the fact that it has no lock. Only the owner lives in the building, but I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t lock my room from the outside when leaving. There is a safe, but I still didn’t feel very safe myself. I am however an anxious person, so maybe for some people this wouldn’t be a problem. In addition, it was a bit cold, especially in the bathroom, and the heaters would turn off automatically. I didn’t notice that it had no kitchen (my bad). However, it would have been great to have a microwave.

Thank you for turning on the heater in the night. This ia just a feedback. It would be good to inform your guests you won’t provide shampoo and conditioner although we brought our own.

• Ben (4/5): Disappointing - The location was great. Upon arrival the person that manages the property was obviously not pleased to be interrupted to let us into the property. He was even more upset when he needed to return to turn on the electricity in the wall plugs and turn off the fire alarm which began to beep continuously. Cups for coffee were broken and glasses were dirty. However the owner replaced both once brought to her attention The bathroom is adequate and the ceiling is low so be aware if you are tall.

High ceiling and massive space with decent sized bathroom. Highly recommend staying here as it is difficult to find a decent sized accommodation close to city centre for this price. Overall loved staying here and would definitely stay here again when visiting Amsterdam. NA

Fritz was awesome and recommended a wonderful restaurant nearby. Large apartment with plenty of room for two. Loved that the unit was decorated with owner Malibu’s artwork. Know that it’s possible to bring in food to eat and there’s a fridge, utensils, etc. but there’s no stove or microwave. No sink near the kitchen area so must use the bathroom to wash dishes, fruits, etc. Minor inconvenience. Beautiful picture windows with canal view are a bit challenging to slide and use metal pins to keep open.
• Rick (5/5): So much potential! - The location was exceptional with views onto the canal and so quiet. It is also really spacious and made for relaxing. However, the total confusion about what it is/isn’t destroys all the benefits. When booking the pictures suggest a small kitchenette and the description a B&B. What you get is a large room, no security as there is no lock on the door, kettle and coffee machine and small fridge. No microwave. Sparse and chipped China and just enough cutlery to survive. Other than the front window and bathroom window all others are painted shut and the door leading to a little courtyard locked. They have obviously had issues with others smoking and limited access to the courtyard - we don’t smoke so were penalised. Finally - a B&B without any breakfast provisions. Isn’t that deception/false advertising. The owners need to decide what their product is, sell it correctly and secure access - that security issue was a bit unnerving! We stayed at a B&B before in Eindhoven which had a lock on the door, microwave and sumptuous breakfast - so no excuse - especially as it was a rather expensive Tarif for this location comparable to a fully equipped 1br apartment less than 1km away.

• Catherine (6/5): Pleasant - Wonderful location The room/apartment and building was lovely and the location was amazing with a spectacular view of the canal at the front door However, there was no shampoo or soap, only four pods of coffee for two days, thread bare towels and a broken door handle on toilet door. A sink and microwave would have been good. The cutlery was scrappy with no teaspoons. The kitchen facilities reminded me of a backpackers. However the bed was comfortable and we had good jet lagged sleep both nights. The apartment was close to great restaurants and bars and walking along the canals to dinner was just beautiful. This was a very expensive place to stay, more than we have ever paid before. Because of this we expected what we usually get at most BNBs. There is usually a small welcome basket with a couple of chocolates and muffins and occasionally even a bottle of wine or some other small welcome gift. Regardless we absolutely loved Amsterdam and the area we stayed in but wouldn’t stay here again.
• Al3xtec (1/5): Black Mold and Violently Management - Stay Away! - Like all international travelers we arrive exhausted from the lack of sleep and walking five miles uphill with our luggage. I send a message to this property through Booking.com, asking if we can check in at 14:00. 20min later I get a response "Call me when you are in front of the property". It was a very hot and sunny day, so we tried to get into a local Cafe to wait for check in, but our luggage is too cumbersome for the small cafe. I call the property manager to ask if he could come earlier, but the phone rings six times and disconnects with a busy signal. I call a second time and again no one picks up the phone. I send the manager a message telling him the line is busy and confirm the number. He replied "Yes but you didn't say anything", "What do you want?" I try calling the property manager a third, forth, fifth and sixth time but he never answered the phone. I send another message through the Booking.com asking if we can check in now. He replied "10 minutes", "I'll be there 10 minutes". When my wife and I arrived at the location we were violently verbally assaulted by an older man who claims he manages this and 42 other properties in the area. He screamed at us, saying that he is so overwhelmed by trying to manage so many properties, and that I was a terrible person for not answering his messages (that I never received). He continues yelling at us about my phone number being anonymous and how aweful we are asking him to show up and let us into the property on a short notice. I don't know what to do. I'm shocked and shaken to my core from exhaustion and anxiety. He continues to berate us for not saying anything on the phone and blaming me for my cellular SIM card not working in Amsterdam. He then opened the door and begrudgingly gives us an angry tour of the dilapidated room.

• Jung (9/5): Superb - Great location right on the canal. I somehow got lucky and had sunny days during my four day stay in Amsterdam. Windows are massive so you get great light. I really liked that the location felt residential and not so touristy. I also sat on the little bench next to the front door and enjoyed a glass of wine and the warm weather. Was a fan of the free nepresso pods - no there isn't a kitchen, but who cooks on vacation anyway? I read the reviews that there isn't a lock on the apartment door and kind of freaked out. It's a single family residence, so the only people who have access to the apartment are the owners, but I never saw them during my stay. They keep to themselves. I also felt like my stuff was safe even though the door to the apartment doesn't lock from the outside. There's a safe that you can put your passport and valuables in if you're worried.

• Janice (7/5): Overall, a great location and a quiet place to stay in the Jordaan. - Location is excellent. Walkable from Amsterdam Centraal. Beautiful neighborhood. Minimal cooking options. No microwave. There is a water boiler. No running water at cabinet with water boiler. Need to fill water boiler in bathroom. All this won’t matter if you’re there for a day or two.

• Rodney (8/5): Relaxed and well located canal house to experience the real Amsterdam - The Location overlooking the canal was great in an ideal part of town, close to the center action but just far enough removed to get a more local feel Spacious room with couches and table, comfortable bed. Owners let us in and were helpful with restaurant recommendations etc. 12 min walk to the central station Maybe a bit more cutlery needed such as a sharp knife and a bread knife. Automated Heating control seemed to be on a motion sensor which lit up the bed area if one of you got up at night
• Kate (8/5): We loved staying here, it’s so full of character and right on the canal. - Spacious, light, great location, everything we needed. Easy walk from the main station and then ten mins walk to most places. It was lovely and quiet and full of character. You cannot lock the door from the outside because of legalities regarding the rental of the property, this was ok as there was a safe inside for valuables and the main door of the building locks. There was a leak in the radiator during our stay so we ended up having very wet carpet at the front and a cold radiator.
