Guest Reviews
- Ines (8/5): Wir kommen sehr gerne nochmals - Insektenschutz an den Fenstern wäre super
- Hayley (4/5): Responsive host, good location, place in need of some TLC - Host very responsive, we appreciated being able to leave our luggage there before the check in time as we arrived earlier than expected. The location is great for the metro, close to the city centre and our conference venue. Amsterdam is very expensive for accommodation and this was cheaper than many other places. There is a swimming area close by which was busy with locals. Nice casual restaurants nearby. This place had really good reviews on Booking.com so we were disappointed to find that they weren't accurate reflections. The place feels a bit unloved - peeling paint in the bathroom, loose skirting boards, broken blind in the bedroom, loose taps, random stuff left by other guests etc. It could do with a deep clean and vacuum of soft furnishings. When we stayed the weather was really hot - which can't be helped - but we couldn't open the windows in the evening as there were so many mosquitoes! Olle had pulled the blinds down but the temperature inside was 32.5 degrees by 6pm! Either a small air con unit or mosquito nets on the windows would be essential for a comfortable summer stay here. The drain smell in the bathrooms was strong and unpleasant, possibly because of the heat.
- George (10/5): Exceptional - Staying at the Tiny Houseboat B&B on the Amstel River was an unforgettable. The recently renovated space features two cozy bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a welcoming living area. The attention to detail is evident, with thoughtful touches like fresh towels and linens provided. The house boat is well equipped with everything you might need and is spotlessly clean.
The location is perfect for exploring Amsterdam, with major attractions like Artis Zoo, the Dutch National Opera & Ballet, and Rembrandt House just a short distance away. The beautiful surroundings of the Amstel River create a peaceful retreat away from the bustling city, making it an ideal spot for relaxation. We loved sitting on the bench in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching everyone walk by!. You can get the metro just a short walk away into Centraal Station and other surrounding areas. Olle has a great information folder documenting everything in the surroundings areas such as bars, shops and eateries.
One of the highlights of our stay was the warm hospitality of our host Olle, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The free WiFi was a bonus, allowing us to stay connected.
Overall, the Tiny Houseboat B&B on the Amstel River is a hidden gem that offers a unique and memorable stay in Amsterdam. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the city from a different perspective.
We look forward to visiting again in the future!
- Daniela (9/5): Cozy boat house - Great location, easy check in, warm inside, comfortable bed Toilet too small

- Giuseppe (7/5): Characteristic experience - It's truly a wonderful experience. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, and the house is very unique and functional for a short stay. I chose this house in particular because, taking an early morning flight, you could check in as early as 3 am as indicated in the listing. I also booked a taxi through this platform from the airport to the accommodation. However, once I communicated that I was arriving, the host informed us that the luggage storage was only available from 11 am and check-in was from 3 pm. (Possible communication error?). In the end, I paid for a taxi that dropped me off at the door, and I had to take public transport to go elsewhere and wait for a few hours. I could have organized myself better.
In the water areas near the walkway, there was trash and stagnant water; they need to be cleaned.
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoltan (10/5): Fantastic - Fantastic stay. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, roughly 10 minutes to get to the town centre by metro. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The host is very attentive and helpful. Many thanks!
- Nicola (8/5): Very good - The bedrooms were very nice and perfect. Bathroom was very small but ok
- Watson (10/5): Exceptional - Good location and is a different and unusual place to stay.
- Mark (10/5): Group Stay 3 people March 24 - Excellent property
Location is fantastic, walkable from the centre in around 40 mins and only 10 mins on the metro. The facilities are perfect. As expected not the biggest, but excellent value for money. Host was communicative & getting in and out was very straightforward.
- Florian (10/5): Exceptional - Olle and the tiny houseboat is just great. Would recommend!
- Daryl (9/5): Fun to stay on the canal. - I love the location. I love the boat part. I love the key code entry. It was cold but the little deck would have been fun in better weather.
- Janet (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (7/5): I would recommend this property for a short stay - clean and comfortable beds,
small but comfortable kitchen with a good size fridge, cosy sitting room
easy walk to the metro station and supermarket the name says it all TINY HOUSEBOAT - tiny bedrooms, tiny bathrooms
- Květa (10/5): Lovely little houseboat, nice Amsterdam experience. - The houseboat was very clean & fresh for our arrival. There were all the things we needed for our stay, plenty of toilet paper, soap, tea towels. It felt like home from home, cosy & peacefull at night. Fans in the rooms for the hot days, which we had. Location: Nice walk along either side of the river Amstel about 40 minutes walk to the centre with plenty to see along the way or the Underground which is just 2 min from the houseboat & takes 5 min to the centre. Grocery store & restaurants within 5- 10 min walk. Small houseboat, but bigger than a hotel room, we were 3 adults and we were just fine. Olle was friendly when he greeted us on our arrival, and informed us of everything. He was always available to contact and prompt to reply when/if needed. I would definitelly stay there again if I go back to Amsterdam. Thoroughly recommend. Nothing, all was good.
- Janis (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful houseboat in an authentic and quiet area of Amsterdam. Everything can be reached by bike in a short time. Olle was very friendly and reachable when we had a problem. Overall, we can highly recommend to stay here!
