• Haley (6/5): Cramped room, good location, friendly host. Would not stay again. - First we’d like to say that the host was incredibly friendly, polite and kind. She welcomed us to the property and showed us around. The location of the property was also great - near the train station (although I’d say 10 minutes walking distance, very hilly neighbourhood), and we lucked out and the cherry blossoms were still in bloom just around the corner. We were shocked to find out that these units were not ‘private suites,’ but rather just rooms within a large house (thank goodness they do have private bathrooms). We really didn’t love having to take our shoes off outside, with the indication that you leave them in an outdoor shoe cupboard and exchange them for ‘indoor shoes/slippers.’ We did not feel comfortable with this, but wanted to respect the homeowner - it just made for awkward entry/exit of the property. The room itself was not as it was pictured on the ‘book this room’ page. It was very small, with hardly any room to walk around. Thank goodness we were doing a quick last minute trip and had small bags, because I don’t think a proper suitcase would open in there. On our second day, we saw the room that had been advertised - the door was open and the room was being cleaned after someone had checked out. It was disappointing to not receive the room that was advertised to us at the time of booking. Unsure if this is an error from the host, or a booking.com issue??? The room also got incredibly hot on our second night, even with the window open. There didn’t seem to be a fan that we could turn on or use (maybe we missed something?). We were leaving the next morning so we just dealt with it for one night. There were some amenities offered (soaps/shampoos/basics for coffee and a mini fridge which is nice of the host to provide). The shower was awkward to use/turn on, and the glass didn’t move very well to try and turn the shower on without awkwardly reaching around the it. The towels were also incredibly small for an adult to use as a bath towel, and one had some rips/tears. The bed was only a double we think (not a queen as advertised). Bedding was comfortable enough, but the pillows seemed older/work down and we both ended up with sore necks. We booked this place based off of advertised pictures and the reviews, but were very underwhelmed with our stay.

• Precious (10/5): Genuinely luxurious stay - The property is absolutely beautiful. The room was spacious, spotless, and the bathroom was stunning. The view from the room was amazing, and the rooftop balcony view was truly to die for. It genuinely felt like a luxury stay. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience even better. The house is secure and easy to access, and with transport to downtown so close by, getting around was effortless.

Solo travellers and business stays - A nice room with all necessary amenities, including coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, limited utensils, laundry, and TV. The room I had was veey spacious with a great view of the town. The terrace is also great, if it's not raining or snowing. They have kept everything very clean. The bathroom is modern, with steam shower, a tub, and bidet! A value for money indeed. The hosts were very nice and welcoming. Tony is very helpful and goes beyond his way to help you during the stay. The access (to the property and the room) is through codes... so no hassle about the keys. Very near to Rupert station (walkable distance!) and accessible to 99 line that goes to DT/UBC. No options to cook yourself.

• Patricia (10/5): Clean, comfortable, modern room with views over cityscape. - Very close to transport and Superstore. Room was modern. Loved having the frig. Bathroom was fab! Wish it hadn't rained so we could have enjoyed the roof terrace.

• Cho (10/5): 10/10 Vancouver airbnb room - The room we got was amazing. They were the sweetest Chinese house hold I ever met. Each room has their own door lock which keeps ur privacy. Their rooftop had one of amazing view as well. Room had huge TV, coffee maker, small refrigerator and microwave. Only time you can do your own laundry is 9am-8pm and since they don't provide clean towels everyday, you have to do your own towel laundry. Which means if you have a tight travel schedule for Vancouver trip, you should've aware of it. Still, except that one all experience there was AMAZING!! 10/10

• Christina (1/5): This was a scam. Police was called. - Host scammed us and harassed us. Host made us move to a different property upon check-in, which we agreed to due to limited alternative options in the area. Host then started repeatedly texting and calling us throughout the day and into the night (past 11pm), asking us to transfer hundreds of dollars to their personal account on a separate platform. They claimed that once we had done so they would give us free cancellation on the original booking. When we did not respond because this was obviously a scam, host continued to text and call the morning after, and showed up outside the door without notice. At this point, we contacted local police in fear of safety, who advised us to evacuate the property immediately and block all contact with the host. We then attempted to obtain a full refund for the reservation, given that we were harassed, and we only stayed for one night at a different property than the original booking. Host denied all accusations and refused to issue a full refund. I lost 1000+ CAD and hours of my vacation to this booking.

• Andrew (9/5): As I was sight-seeing all day, I only needed the room for sleeping. - The room was very clean. The roof-top viewing area was very pleasant with some nice breezes. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Compared to properties in Australia, the provided facilities were quite limited. While there was powdered creamer, there was no milk in the fridge. There was also no proper coffee facilities - only instant coffee. In Australia, an AirBnB apartment would also be expected to have a separate entrance rather than coming in and out through the owner’s house.

The queen room was very clean, well prepared, and had all the basic items needed (shampoo, conditioner. water, etc.). The queen bed was really soft and very comfortable to sleep on. The location is just uphill from Rupert station, which is about a 5 minute walk, making it perfect for those looking to primarily use public transit as their main transportation. Honestly, no complaints.

• Norbert (10/5): Amazing view to the city, clean and cozy accommodation - So happy I booked this property out of the many similar ones in Vancouver. House is newly refurbished, very clean, shoes not allowed inside which we really liked. Communication was easy with the owners on whatsapp and in person. Room was on the upper floor with street view, and the whole place was very quiet. Room has got everything you need, fridge, microwave oven, tv with netflix, utensils, tea, coffee, cream. Everything is new and clean, we felt very comfortable. The roof has got an amazing view to the city, we had our breakfast there and I went up during nighttime to look at the night view. We were allowed to use the washing machine and the spin drier, which was very handy because we were on a 20 days trip in Canada. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, perfect if you like to discover the area by walking around, there are a few parks nearby. Bus stop, food take away shop is about 8-10 mins walk away, big supermarket and underground station is 12-15 minutes walk away. We liked everything here and would come back again

• Grafzeppelin22 (10/5): Exceptional - Tony and his wife were probably the nicest hosts I have ever experienced. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and very cosy. Even special requests, such as a stopper for a full bath, were taken seriously and dealt with immediately. As a smoker, I was even given a small covered area outside with an ashtray without having to go to the street. The location with a 6 minute walk to the train station is simply outstanding. The neighbourhood is also extremely safe. There are good shopping and dining options. There are also plenty of parking spaces, too. All in all, highly recommended! I can't think of a single negative point right now.
• Emmanuel (10/5): Nice owner, and clean bedroom ! - I went for two weeks at this place, it has a microwave and a fridge in the bedroom, a large tv with Netflix and an access to lundry and the kitchen. The owners were really kind and even offered me fruits and canned food for free just for helping me which I appreciate. The room was really clean and had a private bathroom and a big window too ! There is many grocery stores around so getting food and products you’ll need is easy by walk ! Thank you for being nice with me I wish you well :) Maybe it was a bit far away from the center (50min by bus to Granville) but you can go to downtown easily with the skytrain so that’s not a big deal !

• Carol (8/5): Good location near sky train - Good location, clean and tidy. The room description we booked was not the room we were given. We changed room 3 times in 6 nights. The last night of our stay we got the room we paid for. No compensation offered for the inferior rooms we stayed in for the first 5 nights. Had we stayed in the room that we eventually received for the last night our review would have been much higher. I don't enjoy being misled by misinformation. I like to get what I pay for.

The host is very friendly, speaks Chinese, and will enthusiastically introduce you to the best places to eat and have fun, making it perfect for first-time visitors. The host also specially bought memory foam mattresses to ensure you sleep very comfortably. There is also a washing machine available for free, making it an excellent choice for backpackers. If the weather permits, you can also go up to the rooftop to enjoy the perfect view, whether it's sunrise or sunset. Those who need Chinese absolutely should not miss this. Book now before it's all taken!

The staff were so kind and friendly, because it is very very important before you are entering to the City first time, you must have the best mood and they will support you. I've got a food gift - nice!. Amanda and Tony you are awesome people. If I come back, you'll be first on the list.
