Guest Reviews
- Carolyn (10/5): A very welcoming host and very clean accommodations. - Daffodils, raised beds(bathtubs), hiking trail, paths, - overall a beautiful property A larger common area would be nice.
- Timothy (10/5): Beautiful location and amazing service - The hostess was amazing and super friendly
- Mimi (10/5): Very lovely stay, would come back - Gorgeous garden, with rooms spread out in cottage like houses. Donna is very welcoming and warm. Breakfast was awesome and bed was comfy. We had restful nights at Abbie’s B&B.
- BEAULIEU (10/5): -
- Courtney (10/5): The right combination of space/privacy and hospitality. - Very friendly vibe. Very hospitable. Nice touch on the evening cheesecake. Breakfast was wonderful. Rooms were comfortable; we had everything we needed. My friend was especially impressed, as I was the one who did the booking, so she had a nice surprise (I knew what to expect, to an extent) :) There was nothing that was disappointing for us.
- Diane (10/5): -

- Wayne (10/5): Donna was a gracious host and made us feel at home, serving a very delicious breakfast. - The breakfast was delicious as was the evening chocolate cake and ice-cream. Donna was a great host and very hospitable. Enjoyed walking in the garden. The location was great for our needs as we were travelling to catch the early morning g ferry to St. Pierre. Everything was great.
- Christelle (10/5): Très bien - Tout Rien
- Cathy (8/5): Enjoyed the stay, host was wonderful, stars were beautiful and food was fabulous. - The property was beautiful. Lovely gardens, a place to have a fire, lots of greenery. Decor was beautiful, second small bathroom and delicious breakfast. We were in Suite 3 two bedroom single level. Only thing I had a problem with was no room to sit together unless you were in the large bedroom. Also important to know that this is very remote. Closest town with grocery stores and restaurants is about 35 minutes away.
- laurel (10/5): A welcoming home away from home - Super comfy and welcoming. A little evening snack was provided which was a lovely surprise. And the owners were very friendly and chatty. The location is a few km out of town...but a gorgeous property full od personal touches inside and out.
- AGNES (9/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Well appointed accommodation with nice beds, great hot breakfast and a pampered feel. - The rooms were quite spacious and the decor was all coordinated to make the space feel luxurious. The bed and duvet added to that. There was a before bed treat and a full hot breakfast with excellent scones.
- Nancy (10/5): -

- Melinda (10/5): -
- Cynthia and Paul (10/5): Lovely place and the hosts are extraordinary - This is a beautiful little hideaway the owners were very friendly and accommodating.
The room was comfortable, I enjoyed the balcony and we met some nice neighbors.
Breakfast was lovely.
Hosts were over-the-top helpful and informative.
They provided a list of local attractions. No view of the sunset as it says in the add.
Not accessible
There were several hornets around our balcony.
- Harry Charles David (10/5): One of my Top experiences ever ! - What an incredible find! This is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. Really lovely ambiance and super comfy room. And Donna is just fantastic, she went above and beyond to help me with transportation. Absolutely recommended.
- PHILIPPE (9/5): -
- Rosaleen (10/5): There’s a reason Abbie’s garden bed and breakfast is well known - such an amazing place beautifully maintained with very - Beautiful property ; well maintained ; super nice owners ! Beautiful trail, garden with a fire pit and cute chicken coop ! There is nothing to not like. Truly.
- Rohit (5/5): Not bad - It was normal. Little bit homely . We were looking for some professional arrangement. Not bad Owners were awesome. There are three location fortune, grand bank and where Abbie’s garden is located. Not sure why booking.com not showing other properties on other areas. This property is little bit expensive too
- David (10/5): Perfect in every way! Thank you! - Wonderful hospitality! Our room and amenities was perfect. Amazing breakfast and evening dessert delivered to our room before bed was delicous. Our stay was perfect! N/A
- Isabelle (10/5): - Super accueil des propriétaires. Le déjeuner inclu est formidable
- David (10/5): Wonderful hospitality and accommodation! Highly recommended Abbie’s B & B! - Full breakfast was lovely! Fresh fruit, juice, bacon, eggs, pancakes, & coffee! It was the perfect stay! Relaxing, lovely balcony/deck to enjoy, beautiful room, comfy bed, T.V. desk, refrigerator, washer/dryer, sink, coffee maker/coffee, robes & slippers. There is nothing about our stay that we did not like!

- Janice (10/5): Perfection! Thank you. - Lovely hosts! Great environment.
- Nancy McCullough-McCoy (10/5): Super fun place to stay with outstanding staff and hosts. - The breakfast each day was exceptional. Eggs were prepared “as requested,” the bacon was crisp, and the pancakes were perfect.
The social aspect of shared breakfast tables and evening campfires (until the provincial burn ban) was an unexpected highlight.
Mika (sp?) the dog was a fine host. Very little. The toilet seat in our unit had a habit of slipping out of line, producing an alarming noise. Perhaps needs an adjustment.
- Patricia (10/5): Paisible -
- Arthur (10/5): Great place to stay, wonderful host. - Breakfast was delicious, and they even provide an evening dessert on top! We loved playing horseshoes in the back yard and meeting the chickens. Nothing!
- Reza (10/5): - The garden was absolutely beautiful, and the room was spotless and comfortable. The hosts were incredibly friendly, greeting us with a lovely welcome card and an evening treat. Breakfast was delicious and well-prepared. There’s also a charming little trail behind the house, perfect for a peaceful walk. Overall, a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
- Allen (10/5): We stayed there one night and then went over Saint Pierre Island for 3 days and came back and stayed another night. Woul - Property was great. All amenities you would need. Easy parking right in front of the units. Donna and Bruce are fabulous people. You will love the evening Newfoundlander treats. Nothing it was great
- Michael (10/5): -
- Allen (10/5): Very friendly and they make you feel like family - Donna greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our space, very comfortable. Not a thing
- DOREEN (10/5): Exceptional, would highly recommend to anyone travelling this way. - We stayed in The Loft with a balcony, it felt just like home. There was a personalized welcome card on the desk along with chocolates. The room was amazing, with a large bathroom and very comfortable bed. They have a beautiful private and secluded property with gardens and woods you can stroll through. The breakfast was over the top, did not expect this, when it said full breakfast, they meant a full breakfast!!! Fresh eggs from their chickens, bacon, pancakes, tea biscuits, yogurt, fruit bowl and juice and pretty much anything you asked for, lol. On top of everything else, they bring a homemade snack to your room in the evening and they light a fire pit which you are welcome to join. There was also a washer and dryer outside of our unit with a coffee station, fridge and microwave.
It would be hard to find better hosts than Donna and Bruce! You do an exceptional job of running your B & B. There wasn't anything not to like.
- Paolo (10/5): Not to be missed if you need accomodation before taking the ferry to Saint Pierre et Miquelon - Location, friendly staff, breakfast Nothing
- Elizabeth (10/5): Wonderful stay. I would highly recommend. - The breakfast was wonderful. They brought us a baked treat in the evening which was very good.
- Isaacs (10/5): Highly recommend this property - Breakfast was excellent. Lots of fresh fruit pancakes eggs bacon home made biscuits and fresh coffee Accessible walkways andcstairs
- Susan (10/5): Beautiful, comfortable and convenient - Location. Easy to find.
- Philippe Rochon (10/5): - Very comfortable, felt like being home even better. The wall behind the bed let through some sounds because there was a door there that needs to be soundproofed but it was minor.
- Godenzie (10/5): - Friendly welcome, very helpful, and attention to detail.
- Alberto (10/5): -
- Elly (10/5): -

We were greeted by the host, and after we were settled .. we were treated to some delicious cheesecake and berries .. a welcoming treat after a busy day of travel!
.

Donna and Bruce are wonderful. The check-in, all the special touches, and breakfast at the kitchen table...it was all so fantastic.

- Linda (10/5): -
- Veronica (10/5): -
- Johanna (10/5): Surpassed expectations! - What an outstanding place; a blend of Newfoundland warmth with boutique hotel class. We loved staying here (and were VERY grateful for the washer & dryer to use free). The evening cheesecake snack was delicious and breakfast was way beyond our expectations of any B&B we have stayed at (and we have been to many). Donna and dad, Bruce, were impeccable hosts.
- Richard (9/5): -
- Betty (10/5): Loved the place, the hosts have done an amazing job with their property and their dog is really cute - Breakfast was fantastic. Donna and Bruce were great hosts. Very welcoming! The rooms were lovely and the bed was really comfortable. My only complaint is the walls are a little thin. Whoever was renting the adjoining area was a very loud snorer!
- Caroline (10/5): - Très cosy et tres calme. Très bon petit déjeuner . Les propriétaires du B&B sont aux petits soins pour leurs clients.
- Jessica (10/5): -

- Cathy (10/5): - A later breakfast request was granted. Lots of little extras, even robes to wear while there. Personal touches were awesome. The room was a bit cold when we arrived but that's only a complaint because I'm trying to find one. It really was excellent.
- Jackie (10/5): - Excellent endroit Rien à dire
- Michele (10/5): It was like coming home❤️ - Cozy, comfortable and so pretty! We stayed here before and after visiting St. Pierre. We were so happy to return. All the little extras make you feel So welcome! From a welcome card and chocolates, to beverages in the fridge and finally to a sweet treat in the evenings! And the breakfast….wonderful! ❤️
- Dimitri (9/5): -
- Sarah Frances (10/5): absolutely felt pampered in a beautiful and classy place - The full breakfast was exceptional nothing
- Sarah (9/5): Beautiful B&B location and worth the drive! - Donna, the owner, put so much thought and effort into every little detail. I was celebrating my birthday and she put balloons on my bed and at the breakfast table. She also delivered a sweet treat in the evening. It came on a quaint wooden tray and with a birthday candle/lighter so my company could sing happy birthday! It was such a memorable night. The property was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious! Just the perfect meal before we left on our next adventure. I would definitely recommend this location. It was a bit hard to find but there was beautiful scenery to look at while we were looking for it.
- Sylvie (10/5): Endroit charmant - La propreté des lieux le calme et les petites attentions de la propriétaire Tout apprécié
- Mark (10/5): -
- Surgenor (9/5): - The hosts were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They personally served a Newfoundland lunch in the evening, and the breakfast was a feast of deliciousness. The room was lovely, and the beds were comfy. The location is a beautiful garden oasis. N/A
- Patrick (10/5): Wunderbar - Charming stay at “The Loft” portion of Abbie’s and it is very close to the SaintPierre ferry
- Carmen (10/5): Fantastic - Everything! Over the top hospitality, comfy room, pretty garden, a game of horseshoes, a bonfire where our hosts
joined us with a beautiful homemade dessert, fantastic breakfast. Highlight was a young lynx that was trying to unsuccessfully get into the chicken coop. Absolutely nothing.
- O'Grady (7/5): -
- Priscilla (10/5): Un accueil incroyable. - L’accueil de Donna était exceptionnel, elle a été pleine de petites attentions à notre égard.
Le cottage est très propre et la literie confortable.
Le petit déjeuner était délicieux.
L’emplacement est idéal, un petit havre de paix.
- Cindy (10/5): -
- Megan (10/5): -
- Gavin (7/5): - lovely place outside. A lot of nice extras. Rooms small and cluttered with too much furniture. Bookinh.com, the website and the person I talked to beforehand informed me that the whole site was handicapped friendly.. ♿️ signs etc and I was informed stairs were minimal. This wass NOT the case. I am profoundly disabled. 15 stairs from the parking area to the room and a further 15 stairs to the main house for breakfast. Admittedly, the staff was helpful in this regard but I aas deceived about the realities beforehand.
- Francis Nixon (10/5): Great find for a stopover to/from St. Pierre et Miquelon - The hosts were very sociable and engaging. The night we were there they started a bonfire and several of us sat around the passed the evening, along with some home-made desserts. The room was impeccably clean and very comfortable too. The home-made breakfast was excellent and filling. It's a great place. especially if you are passing to/from St. Pierre et Miquelon. Nothing. We liked it all.
- Caroline (10/5): Adored our stay - Beautiful, cozy, welcoming
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Wonderful hosts, and guests, very nice to talk with. - Very comfortable, well appointed, all I could need and ask for. ++++Laundry included!
- Wu (10/5): - The breakfast is awesome. also we met some neighbors whose are supper friendly as well
- SALLY (10/5): - The breakfast was excellent, the beds very comfortable and overall hospitatliy was amazing.
- James (9/5): A perfect end to our holiday - Good quality furniture
Bathroom ventilation and heating options
Air conditioner if we needed it. Several opening windows on to the deck overlooking the garden.
Delicious breakfast feast
Friendliest people who are service oriented We found the bedroom space cosy but we also had big suitcases
- Mathieu (10/5): Accueil chaleureux et quiétude. -
- Benoit (9/5): -
- Nancy (10/5): sympathique - les hôtes étaient vraiment sympathiques attentionnés

- Lorraine (9/5): - The breakfast and owners were outstanding Very expensive
- Daniella (10/5): - Every little detail that has gone into this bed and breakfast has made it special. Donna and Bruce make you feel like you ate at home the minute you arrive. I felt like I was staying with friends. Such great hospitality. Worth it. !
- Denise (10/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): Lovely 2 day visit - Beautiful property. Room was lovely comfortable quiet clean and well supplied Absolutely no complaints or concerns
- Debra (9/5): Wonderful warm hosts and an superb stay. - Bruce and his daughter Donna have created an oasis like setting with walking trails, gardens, and lovely rooms. The rhubarb pie baked and delivered in the evening by Bruce was marvellous and the subsequent bonfire was a wonderful way to visit with other guests and the owners. Breakfast was especially delicious with eggs from the resident chickens. We are so glad we found this gem during our travels. The owners made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Highly recommended. The room although very tastefully decorated and comfortable could have been a little bigger. Considering the amazing experience, this was a minor issue.
- Henry (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Like staying with friends who have a beautiful house and are lots of fun to be with! - How many B&Bs can you go to where the hosts provide everything you could possibly need, in a lovely garden setting, and then turn it into a really fun social evening with them and fellow guests? Exceptional. Only downside is that the location is 5k from the nearest town, so nothing is walkable.
Merci
- Christine (10/5): - This was our 2nd time staying at Abbie's, and everything was exceptional. Accommodations are top-notch! Clean, comfortable, everything you need. Donna and Bruce are wonderful hosts. Breakfasts are plentiful and delicious! Abbie's B&B is the best!
- Rick (10/5): an excellent place to stay for anyone visiting the area and/or passing through to St. Pierre. - The host was awesome. She provided many suggestions for the area. Also she was immediately open to allowing us to charge our car. Also the breakfast room had so much beautiful art. The gardens and the chickens that made our breakfast were fun to see.
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Harald (9/5): -
- josephine (10/5): Beautiful relaxing and peaceful stay! - Loved all the little extras. Pretty garden, fire pit and quaint sitting areas. No complaints
- paul (10/5): Very good accommodations. - Bruce did a great job with cooking us breakfast. The accommodations were great. Quiet location far enough off the road. Bruce was very gracious in his approach and filling in the details of the rental. We would definitely stay here again. Oh, almost forgot . He provided us with a delicious piece of homemade pie. The weather.
- xr7gt (10/5): - Absolutely stunning property and staff. Fresh eggs for breakfast from on property chickens.
