- Angela (8/5): Welcoming, spacious and comfortable stop on Highway 1 but no breakfast at this B&B - This was the perfect location for a stop while travelling on the trans-Canada highway, about 6 hours from Calgary and such a pretty and quiet location. The room was really well equipped and comfortable and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.
The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the shower hot, there was parking outside and we were able to stream on the TV. There was also a separate seating area and plenty of space to open up two large cases, so it was perfect for what we needed. You really need a car to get to most of the restaurants in the area, and it's quite a way uphill from the lake, but if you're just using this as a stop while travelling through, or wanted a really peaceful retreat, then this is perfect.
The decor is a little dated by now, but everything was very comfortable and highly recommended, especially for an overnight stay.
My biggest criticism was that I'd booked this because it had B&B in its name but after booking it the hosts contacted me to confirm there was no food available at the property. I didn't cancel the booking as I had enough time to plan an alternative (Hello Toast in Kamloops, 1 hour away) but was a little annoying.
- Andrew (10/5): Comfortable stay in one of BC’s nicest areas - The lovely gardens, Adela’s cookies Nothing
- Lillian (9/5): The hosts were so friendly providing little extras like fresh flowers and cookies.Their yard was so beautiful and quiet - It was so clean and beautiful. The view from our deck was fantastic. The bed was excellent and everything was so quiet. Just what we needed.

- Bryce (10/5): -
- Jim (7/5): It’s good for an overnight - Location, quiet, comfortable bed, good cookies Smaller than expected, no TV, no breakfast (only notified after booking and was not refundable after booking)
- Suzette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. All was a stated in description. Traveling solo has the same expense as traveling as couple.
- Randy (10/5): Our host had just been dealing with a family emergency and was making trips back and forth to the hospital yet we would - Beautiful spot. Easy access. Nice accommodation.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amer (10/5): We sincerely thank Adele and Rick for their support and dedication. - Adele and Rick were awesome. Mosquitos
- Maryanne (9/5): Fantastic - Great location, and facilities! Like a home away from home, garden was beautiful. The television stations did not deserve any of our time. Might as well not have a TV.
- Johnston (9/5): Great location with good facilities. - Beautiful view from the large deck. Perfect location for our needs. Room was a bit small, with no writing desk and a double bed.
- Terry (6/5): A little overpriced - Good location Advertised as a B&B but had no breakfast. No TV in the room
- Dmkdw (10/5): We highly recommend Selah Retreat Guesthouse! - We were provided with coffee and large delicious homemade cookies for breakfast. There were flowers on the table, a small fridge, large TV and the supplies in the bathroom included shampoo etc and hairdryer. The room was very large and the bed linens were exceptionally soft and comfortable. The garden was beautiful with sitting areas available to the guests. The owners were delightful. We will definitely be back! Not a thing!
- Douglas (8/5): it was home - better lighting on pay to room
- Dominique (10/5): Exceptional - The location is perfect and the house is beautiful. The hosts were very generous to upgrade my room to a suite and I appreciated every moment I spent there.
- Valerie (9/5): Would not book that room again but would consider other larger ones there. - The hosts were excellent and the property was very clean and had high end finishings. There was only one chair and no table in the room and the fridge was a 1/4 fridge not a typical under the counter half fridge. The traffic noise from Canada Hwy 1 was noticeable on the patio and somewhat in the room when trying to get to sleep.
- Jm (9/5): We were very pleased with the accommodation and hope we can stay again soon. - I liked the privacy & cleanliness. The hosts were kind and attentive. The left hand turn onto the highway when leaving.
- Trudean (6/5): Thoughtless selfish hosts running their dishwasher in the middle of the night. Lacking respect for their guests. - The studio suite was fine, comfy bed and good bathroom. At about 2 A.M. I was awakened abruptly when someone above me on the main floor turned on what sounded like an older model dishwasher that was very loud with many bumps and grinds. It ran for over 2 hours and was so loud I couldn't sleep. Such a thoughtless, selfish and rude thing to do. It is a Bed and Breakfast with no breakfast so the clean dishes in the morning definitely benefitted only the owners.
- Bony (9/5): Superb - The location is amazing and it truly is a hidden gem. Not only is the place clean and well kept the magnificent backyard is a world of its own/ with little relaxing nooks and paths surrounded by trees and flowers! Above all, the hosts are truly gracious and were expressly accommodating when we couldn’t make it on the set dates due to illness. We d recommend Selah retreat to anyone in a heartbeat!
- Sema (10/5): Stay longer than one night here, it’s worth it! - Everything. Very, very friendly owners. Beautiful place with all we needed. It’s a shame we only booked for one night. Tip: book at least for two nights, it’s worth it and there is enough to do in the area.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hotel (8/5): Very good -
- Kimble (8/5): It is a nice place and a very nice host but should be updated - A nice place but dated. I suggest the stay should be about $50 less. The decor is very dated
- Kerri (10/5): Exceptional place to stay - This is an exceptional accommodation, matched by the beautiful owners. We were greeted by Rick and Adela and advised that they had given us a complimentary upgrade to a self contained unit. The unit was very spacious, very clean and had a large comfortable bed. The extra touches were appreciated - yummy cookies on arrival, and delicious muffins to take with us on departure. The unit had lots of information books on things to do in the area, and our hosts were really helpful with lots of tips as well. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
- Bonnie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Superb Apt Style Accommo in the Beautiful Shuswap BC - Everything Else....10/5 star rating! 😀 😃 🙂
Wrote lots in guest book! Will return if in area again & recommend to others! Already talked to owners about confusing map printed on booking confirmation. Google maps can be inaccurate in our experience in both urban & rural areas at times & so we always print human made directions if possible. A North arrow, location of lake printed on map or distance to turnoff from highway at Hilltop Rd from a landmark would have been helpful esp b/c postal address & actual location are different.
- Stephen (10/5): An oasis of rest and peace. - Selah is a tranquil oasis overlooking Shuswap Lake in the Okanagan Valley. The garden was so inviting with places to sit and chat or just reflect in peace. The apartment was lovely and so thoughtfully decorated. Rick and Adela were most gracious and helpful. We loved our stay and will make this our regular stop in future travels through BC.
- Paul (10/5): A quiet place with very friendly hosts - Friendly hosts and quiet place
- Yakhin (10/5): This is our second visit to Selah and, as last time, everything met and exceeded all expectations - A lovely and comfortable room in a picturesque surrounding, with a spectacular view of the lake. An atmosphere of peacefulness and beauty. A longer stay!
- Julie (9/5): Nice place with nice view - Very welcoming couple. The room is big with a TV corner, a small kitchen ...
Thanks a lot for having us
- Roxy (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - So peaceful and beautiful There was not a thing
- Michael (10/5): Excellent all round. - We were upgraded at no cost. Nothing
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb - The location is beautiful. We appreciated our spacious and private room. Our hosts were friendly and kind.
- Ahmad (10/5): The name of business is “Bed& Breakfast but doesn’t serve breakfast - Nice view quite Small room

- Leonard (6/5): Get the impression that the hosts want to retire and that is the real reason for not providing breakfast! - Nice clean rooms shame there is no breakfast in B&B!
- Richard (9/5): A clean, pleasant and quiet spot to break up our journey. - Very spacious and comfortable room, nice quiet location.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Wai (9/5): Superb - I like the homemade cookies, If breakfast provided would be more perfect. The coffee, tea pack and without breakfast and no electric stove/induction cooker.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maksim (9/5): Superb -
- Arthur (9/5): Superb -
- Laurie (8/5): Our hosts were lovely and welcoming. We had a lovely patio and gardens - We didn't have breakfast because of covid restrictions. Trans Canada highway noisy all night.
- Barbara (8/5): We enjoyed our brief stay - There was no breakfast our room was private with a nice deck and lake view. Only one chair in the room and the room was small although nicely appointed.
- Tina (7/5): It was clean and quiet and a place to stay. - The location was good. It was easy to find. Very clean! It wouldn’t take much to put a small tv in the room.
We didn’t find the bed very comfortable.
- Lorna (9/5): Superb -
- Keith (9/5): Wonderful experience - Beautiful views from great patio A little confusing with regards to initially finding the location

- Dic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Angelo (10/5): It was great - We did not get breakfast at this time. The location is a little far away for us to where we needed to travel to every day.
