• Javier (9/5): Muy buena elección en Tarrafal - Una habitación grande y bien puesta. El baño exterior privado es muy grande y cómodo. El desayuno es muy bueno y abundante. Muy agradecidos por los productos de bienvenida. Aunque la habitación no tiene aire acondicionado, solo ventilador, al menos en las fechas que estuvimos, primeros de abril, no lo echamos en falta. Está cerca del centro de Tarrafal, pero queda una zona algo oscura alrededor por la noche, aunque ciertamente no parece nada peligroso.

• Anita (3/5): Teleurstellend, desolaat, onverzorgd - Flexibele annuleringsvoorwaarden, je krijgt 70% terug als je op het laatste moment besluit om weg te gaan. De kamers zijn op zich wel ruim. De locatie, op een desolaat terrein, zonder weg. Een oude 'villa' met een onafgemaakt appartementengebouw ernaast. Lijkt wel villa Kakelbont. Het lijkt een grap. Waarom krijgt deze b&b een 9 op booking.com? De badkranen of badstops zijn verroest en afgebroken. De bedden zijn te smal voor twee personen. Het is heel gehorig. Bij een van de kamers grenst je balkon aan een blinde muur. De WC in het receptiegedeelte is smerig. Dingen hangen scheef, oude meuk gecombineerd met IKEA spullen. Op zich niets mis mee maar het geheel is gewoon onverzorgd, niet smaakvol en zeker geen 9 waard! Het uitzicht en de omgeving zijn troosteloos. Eigenaresse vraagt bij uitchecken niet hoe ons verblijf is geweest. Bijzondere, en teleurstellende ervaring. Over de plaats Tarrafal wordt veel te hoogdravend gedaan in de blogs. De beachtent is leuk maar het stikt er van de vliegen. De restaurants zijn matig/redelijk. Het beste is de pizzeria van een authentieke Italiaan.

• Magiel Dirk (2/5): Woonwagenkamp-inrichting geïmporteerd uit Nederland. - Wat moet ik hier van vinden? De eerste indruk was: Woonwagenkamp-inrichting van Leen Bakker in een container vanuit Rotterdam naar Cabo Verde gebracht. Terwijl dit land zo’n prachtige cultuur heeft. Niets daarvan terug te vinden in deze beide B&B’s. Ook de inkomsten gaan rechtstreeks naar de Alegría Group in Rotterdam. Dit om de belasting in Cabo Verde te ontwijken, terwijl dit land het juist bitter nodig heeft. Jammer! Gelukkig hebben we op de eilanden betere authentieke B&B’s gehad. Zie boven. Irene? Rotterdam?

Les chambres sont propres, le petit déjeuner très copieux . La villa est bien situé vous pouvez aller à la plage ou au restaurants à pied. Merci à toutes l’équipe

• Isabel (10/5): Es war ein super Erlebnis, an einem wunderschönen Ort, mit tollem Ambiente und toller Unterkunft. Immer wieder sehr gern - Das Zimmer war sehr schön und sauber. Bei der Ankunft erhielten wir Gratis Getränke inkl. Wein und die Gastgeberin war super freundlich und äusserst hilfsbereit. Sie brachte uns auch kostenlos zum Strand der Kühe. Praia da Prata. (Sehr empfehlenswert) Die Lage vom Apartment ist super und das Frühstück war gut. Es gab nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat. Es war alles zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit.

• Nina (10/5): Beautiful old house in pedestrian road in colonial town centre - The location was perfect - directly in the pedestrian road in the colonial town centre, so you can walk to all the sights and also walk home at night. Superfriendly staff. They organized a tour to other towns and laundry service for us (you have to pay extra for that, of course.) The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is in a nice restaurant right on the other side of the street (contintental or local food) - sit in the shade, sip your coffee and do people-watching. There are also nice sitting areas inside. It was also nice and cool. Superclean. The hotel is built in Spanish-Portuguese style - the rooms open to the central room like a courtyard. This makes it very safe, but all sounds in the courtyard carry like street noise. Unfortunately, most flights arrive after midnight, so whenever guests are coming in, there are some sounds for about 15-20 minutes until everyone has settled, and there is nothing the hotel can do about this. There is an easy solution to this, however - simply close the window at night. We are super sensitive to noise and could sleep perfectly.
• Mehdi (9/5): Nice place to stay close to the beach. Friendly owners - Owners are running a tight ship. Well managed and responsive to requests. Apartment is clean, breakfast is decently good. Short walk to the beach through town. Bit too highly priced for what is offered
• Murray (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay in Tarrafal & Casa Algeria. The area was refreshingly untouristy & laid back. - Very comfortable, loads of extras included, great staff. Short walk to excellent restaurant. Lots of useful advice. Quite a few unfinished buildings nearby but you get used to it.
• Simone (9/5): Superb - friendly welcome, room decorated nicely, good breakfast, friendly welcome. Irene was very helpful and always easy to reach, we were offered a late checkout which made our last day way less stressful (flight at 2 AM and we had to rebook and reschedule a lot because of an airport strike back home... - thanks again, Irene!). There are many houses and lots under construction around, but short walking distance to beach and restaurants and we felt safe everywhere. sliding door to the bathroom doesn't close completely... just saying ;)

• Red (10/5): Exceptional - Alegria is quiet, 2 min from the diving center, perfect beds, nice smiling staff, super breakfast with fresh fruits, eggs, capeverdian and european dishes, clean (!), 5 min from the beaches and the restaurant, a cosy front garden where you can read or just see the sunset. It is a pitty the governement does not finish building the streets for this beautiful villa.
• Susanne (9/5): Superb - Wonderful villa with great and clean rooms + nice staff. Laundry service is great. Additionally, nice to have: free mini bar drinks. Great breakfast with changing options e.g. one morning they made mini banana pancakes, the next morning toasts with cheese (and unfortunately ham). Location could be closer to the center

• Tiina (9/5): Close to the beach, amazing staff! :) - Villa is wonderful! Such a beautiful and charming place, with kind staff. The owners are super nice and helpful and every amenity is provided. They have laundry service, great security, delicious breakfast with lots of options. The Suite is big and has a private balcony. Totally recommend! :) The Wi-Fi is not good, and this bothered me a bit because I work with my laptop.

Check-in was not ideal,place is located in a kinda of in empty dirt road area, there is construction works going on, no pavement or paved road access

• Jeronimosanti (10/5): Wonderfull stay and superb host! Don't think, just book it ;-) - We stayed both in Villa Alegria as in Casa Alegria which both have their own charms. We preferred the casa because of the roof terrace and we liked the rooms a bit more BUT no worries if you book for the Villa, this one is nice as well ;-) The host, Irene, well what can i say...she's like a walking travel agency and has a superb netwerk all over the island. If you need things to be done, she will make it happen. Some ex: - Hiking in the Serra Malagueta (you can choose your own hike): she arranged a very reliable French/English/Portuguse speaking guide who has an incredible knowledge of the island. It seemed like he knew everyone where we came. His name Silvio. If you want to do something here, ask for him. PS: you can hike in the Serra alone, but with a guide you will go to places that you will not see on your own. - Arranging private transport: always reliable, English speaking persons with a normal driving style :-) - Arranging transport to other islands. It's not easy to get things done here. CVInterilhas website is not stable and Irene knows how to get you things done. - Tips for restaurant, food,..all spot on. We enjoyed the food here every day. - Problems of other kind? Irene will try to help you via her network. Her husband grew up here so things can be arranged a lot easier. - Transport to the airport, Irene. Aluguer is of course an option but you don't want to arrive late for you plane or ferry... Breakfast in both locations is in buffet style and is all you need: coffee/tea, 3 styles of cold drinks, milk and cereals, cheese/ham/salami, breads, eggs (boiled and mirror), fruits like banana, papaya, apples,...all you need. Location: quiet area, few 100m away from beach and restaurants. The best of both worlds ;-) Rooms: we stayed in 3 different rooms. One advise, take a room with airco. All rooms were spacy, clean and a lot of options. Fridge filled with free alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. If i have to write down one thing it's the room without airconditioning. If you have the option, take a room with AC. Nights are hot here and a fan doesn't cool the room and also makes noise. Of course this applies to all accomoditions so it's not a negative thing for this place. It's just an ocerall tip if you book a place in CV.
