- Kate (10/5): A great find - Neat tidy self contained and private. Great communication
- Naomi (10/5): Pet and family friendly accommodation in ideal location - Great location, beautiful scenery, lovely breakfast provisions, everything we needed in the house for a comfortable stay, kids loved the pool and it was totally pet friendly too which we loved Nothing. Everything was great
- Bronwyn (10/5): Delightful and relaxing. Thank you. - Quiet, comfortably furnished and beautifully decorated, nice peaceful outlook. ?
- Iona (10/5): - Attention to detail was exceptional. Quiet, peaceful, county setting with birds, frogs, and cows all doing their thing. So beautiful. Warm fire on a cold night was bliss.
Hope to go back soon That we had to leave was the worst thing about our stay
- Elisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabrielle (7/5): Beautiful cabins, owner a bit scary! - Beautiful rustic cottage, warm and cosy. Lovely setting. Great breakfast supplied. I didn’t realise that when I search pet friendly accommodation in Booking.com (unlike my main stay AirBnB) it doesn’t notify the owner. The owner was surprised we had pets and quite sarcastic towards us which was distressing. Once we both worked out the misunderstanding it was ok.
- Mikos12 (10/5): Amazing alpine stay in a friendly, cosy and homely cottage! Perfect spot to unwind and reconnect!! - The cottage was super cosy and had contained all the amenities and facilities that you could ever possibly need! The open fire was amazing, and to have a spa bath in the cottage was such an added bonus!! The hosts were super polite and friendly, and offered assistance and support whenever required.
- Celeste (9/5): Superb - Absolutely beautiful location, beds are very comfy and great hosts.

- Maudee (10/5): Cottage with old world charm near Yackandandah. - If you like old world charm and country surrounds then you will love Colby Cottages! We spent each day at the Yackandandah Folk Festival and returned to our peaceful little cottage each night. It was called the Captains' Cottage and had a nautical theme with some very interesting artifacts. The cottage was cosy, light and spacious with a very comfortable bed, quality bathroom products and breakfast provisions. Highly recommended.

- Isabel (9/5): great experience! lots of thought has gone into making these cottages a lovely place to stay. well d - Port and chocolates on arrival, roaring open fire with plenty of wood, delicious breakfast pack...and a spa!! Great experience, would happily return... we had only small suitcases, but if we had bigger cases it would be difficult to find somewhere for them to go...
- Jarrad (10/5): All in all, great value and beautiful place and good place to get away too - Great vibe, and everything was all new but styled exceptionally Well with old style furnitures Nothing to dislike
- Virginia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ewan (10/5): Just the best stopover we could have made. - It had a lovely character - mainly historic but with some modern twists. Linda has clearly got a great eye for this style of design.
Breakfast was perfect. The property is easy to find and close enough to the local sights. Would throughly recommend.
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Dianne (8/5): Very good - Location and cottage Bed
- Rob (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): nice and relaxing - The location! Very relaxing and tranquil! Nil
- Owen (9/5): Excellent - The cottages are set up very well for dogs. Each has a great old-world charm with lots of detail gone into the decor.
The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. Look forward to staying there again soon.
This no reflection on the accommodation provider they were more than helpful, but after Booking.com sent me 2 conflicting emails about the online booking failing and then my account was charged, I found their customer service phone line was to an overseas number that did not connect. They have failed to return emails made through their customer services contact on the website and I had to contact the accommodation directly to confirm I was not scammed. Nothing wouldn't change a thing.
- Jillian (9/5): Quaint and comfortable. The bird song and farm sounds all around us were a joy. - Breakfast was great - delicious bread, bacon and eggs.
We loved all the nature around us and were very comfortable. The location was superb for the rail trails.
- Guy (10/5): The Most Beautiful and Quiet place where you Need to Be, to Try it and Appreciate it. - The breakfast was lovely with nice piece of bacon, "real" eggs from the yard, with a lovely view from the balcony.
The most quiet less, peaceful relaxation we have in years. As an ex-French military family, the decor and personal touches have bought back beautiful memories and helped us make news ones to be treasured through the years. Waking to the lovely sound of birds, cattle and horses was a real pleasure. The bathroom is a delight and the spa was incredible bonus with lovely soothing music and lovely candle light. Absolutely beautiful and treasured experience.
Linda and Jamie will welcome you with joy. Do not follow your GPS, so easy to miss the place (we did it).
- Sharon (10/5): This is a perfect retreat. Relaxed, well maintained and perfect for those people who travel with dogs. - The cottage was beautifully done. Great attention to detail from owners with passion and flair. The grounds were maintained and perfect for people traveling with pets. Couldn’t fault it.
- Tim (10/5): The most wonderful, relaxing, gorgeous place to be cosy and happy, surrounded by nature - Just a perfect blend of a lovel, traditional, cottage with the mod cons you want...i.e. great air con, wi-fi, fireplace, etc. It's on a gorgeous property with privacy but you feel very 'at home' and welcome. The little touches are spot on...e,g, quality bacon (none of that awful stuff pumped full of water!!), farm fresh eggs...you can taste the difference, bread, milk, etc. Oh, and a spa bath that was superb...it really was a brilliant place to stay...get it booked!!!!! My stay was too short; I wish I could have stayed for a week or two as I haven't felt so refreshed and relaxed for ages.
- John (10/5): A beautiful place of serenity and a step back in time. - Delightful, old world, rustic cottage with all the creature comforts. So cozy, relaxing and comfortable. Enjoyed having a BBQ on the back deck watching the sunset surrounded by nature. Loved meeting the enormous Hugo, the gentle St Bernard. Great place to stay to in the country while still allowing easy access to explore Beechworth. Highly recommend!
- Cathy (9/5): Superb -
- Cathy (10/5): Great country stay that’s pet friendly - Stunning area was great we could take the dogs the cottage was quaint so warm with the fire and also had ducted heating they had everything you needed we cooked and ate there both days the Weber BBQ was great No heating in bathroom was the only thing
- Grace (9/5): Homely, cosy and comfortable. - The cottage was cosy and toasty and homely. In a beautiful location in the countryside. The cottage was set back in time. There was breakfast supplies to cook up bacon and eggs and firewood ready to light in the heater.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (10/5): Nothing like it. Great for a special hideaway. Will be back. - Picturesque hideaway with understated attention to authentic detail from a bygone era. Open fire was fab - it was freezing outside! Electric blanket a bonus. Breakfast options perfect. Complementary port. Would love to come back in Spring or Autumn. Hosts welcoming and understanding about a breakage. Nothing
- Louise (9/5): Absolutly loved the stay, and the cottage was gorgeous, we are already planning our next trip. - The staff were lovely and extremely accomodating, we didn't arrive to the property until 10pm, and the staff still helped and were friendly.
The cottage was beautiful and the grounds gorgeous, and it was lovely to be able to bring our fur babies. The bed was comfy but personally would like a firmer bed. Just as a heads up they ask that you leave the key in the front door when you leave the property to visit the surrounding areas. So would be nice to have been informed that before we arrived.
- Tracie (8/5): It was relaxing, private & an amazing weekend away - It was private, in the country away from everything Nothing
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the old world decor. There was a great supply of wood for the fire, wonderful shower and comfortable bed. All in all a wonderful stay.
- Terry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Great we would like to revisit! - Lovely friendly host, we didn't want to leave after our two nights but had a schedule Maybe a means of heating the bathroom, say with a bar heater mounted high on the wall? A cold front came though the weekend of the stay and the lounge/living room and bedroom had a comfortable climate with the ducted aircon AND the wonderful wood combustion heater in the L/L room!
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy, cosy and pet friendly.
Close to Beechworth and Yackandandah. A pub feed at the Star Hotel Yackandandah is a must!
- Heidi (9/5): Superb -
- Annette (10/5): It was very pleasant and relaxing - The cottage was beautifully decorated and furnished for the period. It was clean and all the necessary utensils, etc were provided. The beds were comfortable and there were enough extra blankets for the cold nights. The situation and outlook of the property was stunning Nothing
- Dunnett (9/5): Superb -
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Karin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lachlan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay with our dog 🐕
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Little touches, e.g. fresh farm eggs
- Scott (10/5): pleasant short stay - it was comfortable just enough for a couple well decorated cottage themed, well situated close to Beechworth in a nice setting, would like to spend more time there
- Lydia (10/5): Exceptional - Great area, and facilities. Linda and Jamie (and Eddie) were great hosts. Such a peaceful location.
- Ann (6/5): pleasant - The environment was delightful poor lighting for shaving, makeup
breakfast supplies were basic and not replenished for second day.
cereal was just that - no fruit to add, no jams for toast.
- Colin (9/5): thoroughly enjoyed it - a very quaint with lots of character
- Libby (8/5): Very good -
