Guest Reviews
- Cynthia (9/5): A clean and comfortable place to stay if you’re passing through Gravelbourg. -
- Leslie (9/5): -
- Kimberly (8/5): - Comfy beds and great shower It was chilly at night but really warm in the morning
- David (7/5): - The beds were comfortable. The room was quiet and located within walking distance of the town’s grocery store. Could have used some utensils
- Brayden (7/5): - Continental breakfast was fantastic 😊 very nice old building and super friendly staff.
Didn't get a chance to try the Chinese food but I've heard it's fantastic The bed was so hard and made it difficult to get a good night's sleep
- Jeremy (10/5): -
- Stella (6/5): Inside was great and comfy - History Outside is a mess
- Stella (7/5): All good - History inside Outside very rough looking
- Guest (10/5): -
- McLennan (7/5): Our host was very pleasant. She is clearly working hard to renovate an older facility. We wish her w - N/A We needed a place to drop off the key when we checked out early in the morning.
- SansCartier (7/5): Simple et accueillant - La literie très douce dans un lit confortable. Le déjeuner simple et diversifié. Le manque d’information sur l’histoire de ce couvent des religieuses du Précieux sang.
- Jean (6/5): A place to stay while visiting family. - Location. The stairs. No coffee in the room.
- La Rochelle (8/5): - The staff are very friendly and my room was very nice and clean Only thing I didn't like was the bed. I have a bad back and the bed was very, very, uncomfortable.
- Janice (7/5): Good value, clean funky stopover - Fridge, toaster, coffee pot in room. It was clean at a good price . Restaurant had very good Chinese food . Funky, dated decor took some getting used to but it was clean!
- John (6/5): -
- Stella (7/5): -
- Stella (7/5): Lovely heritage inside, updated painted signage would help to make it not look so dumpy looking on the outside. Inside - The history and charm The bugs
- Stella Kosciuk (8/5): -
- Colin (9/5): - I liked the quirky decor of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The AC was very loud
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - The room was large and spacious. Beds were clean and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was good. Breakfast was simple but good. Quiet, character building.
- Monique (8/5): Very good - Good price, that breakfast was provided , outddoor flowers, signage. Walking distance to town center for example If you want to take a tour of the town. Nice to see an old building repurposed.. The shower/ bathtub bars were useful, the bathroom was clean and inviting. I also liked that.the corridor sections lit up when one walked through. In summary, a great price for a comfortable, clean room. There was much junk hanging around the hotel.. The carpet covered outdoor steps on the right sided entrance.needs to repaired, there are many potential hazards in this building for seniors or people with impaired vision.
- Paula (4/5): Maybe other rooms have better, but based on ours, I couldn't recommend the property. - Location. Liked that it was a heritage location. It was quiet. The shower in the bathroom. We didn't use it. See picture. A/C cooled room quite well but had to turn it off in order to get any sleep. The outside steps going to and from dining area were dangerous.
- L. (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annamarie (1/5): Is someone playing a joke? This is bizarre! - Nothing. Normally I don't write review but this was so bad, people should know what to expect. Not updated or maintained since the sisters of the precious blood of Jesus lived there.
Windows won't open, no air conditioning or fan (although it tells you to shut them off when you leave) shower was too old, rusty or gross to use. It did have some old grimy bottles with some leftover shampoo, no soap at sink, no hairdryer, mattress was decent but with very cheap polyester (sweaty) bedding.
Room was very stuffy. No smoke alarm in bedrooms.
All kinds of different pieces of wall paper,
the inside of closets was lined with Christmas wrapping paper.
Doors had big holes where handles had been in a previous life and full of stickers and grime.
Second bedroom had no bed light just overhead.
It had a kind of really weird kitchenette with a sink at height of mid thigh.
Windows were all closed with tape. Probably to keep out drafts in winter?
It felt like the rooms are held up with tape.
We skipped breakfast.
- Darlene (9/5): Superb - Comfort Stairs
- Prescelia (5/5): Passable - After hours assistance, if I had been able to ask for aide regarding, extra pillows, opening a window for fresh air and help cleaning up when a light fixture fell (on my head, but that’s no one’s fault). I think that the owners would have helped if they had known but I simply did not know who or how to contact for assistance
- Maggie (8/5): The owners were friendly and accommodating, loved - Breakfast was adequate, loved the heritage of the hotel, good location. The room got a little warm for sleeping during the night and couldn’t seem to be adjusted.
- Ggg (7/5): Good -
- Dustin (4/5): Disappointing - Room was clean and comfortable. Shower didn’t work in our room and no hot water.
- Shae (9/5): Superb -
- Heather (8/5): We would stay there again. - Friendly staff, breakfast was continental but very good with lots of selection. The bed was very comfortable and the room extremely clean. The air conditioner was very noisy though. We could also have used a couple more pillows. Just the noisy air conditioner
- Robert (3/5): Would not stay there again. - Very old, smelled like an old house, so much dust under the bed it looked like a carpet.
- Quint (1/5): They should not be allowed to serve the public. - Food was ok. We wound up getting mites and lice from the beds. Obviously they did not change the bedding from the last people. We’ve been going through weeks of cleaning since our stay.
- Matthew (10/5): I needed a place to stay for one night in Gravelbourg and could not have picked a better place. - The staff was friendly and everything was great and I loved the facilities and the town of Gravelbourg! Nothing I can think of.
- Baedke (6/5): Pleasant, quiet, taken back in time to colors and decor from the Chinese 70's and 80's. - The breakfast met my expectations. Hot Tim's brand coffee, fresh, hot hard boiled eggs, fresh bread for toast, an assortment of bread spreads, yogurt and fresh fruit of bananas and oranges. Juice and teas were also available. Very dated. Initially this building was used as a monastery. At some point over the past 30ish years it had been renovated to be a hotel. As the owners are Chinese, they speak very little English and have renovated the inside decor with Chinese themes. This presents an odd combination of a former monastery and present day Chinese decorated hotel rooms.
Cardboard cutouts are used to surround the temporary AC units within the bedroom windows. The Hotel was clean and I would likely stay again in the future.
- Gregory (7/5): Good - Great location. Wifi was spotty
- Margo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Donna-marie (7/5): over all very friendly accommodating staff, decent accommodations for the price. Will stay again. - basic breakfast items cereal toast coffee tea hard boiled eggs it was decent. that it wasnt pet friendly but thats ok
- Aidumova (9/5): Superb - The owner was meeting me at the door for my late check-in. Provided me with free water, candies.
The room was clean and cozy.
- Adeoye (10/5): Exceptional - Easy to locate and quite neighborhood
- Daniel (10/5): Very nice staff, and the building's history was a bonus -
- Lori (7/5): Good -
- L. (8/5): Very good -
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (2/5): not good - the breakfast was ok, the location was ok The air conditioner was not working, the bed was awful with ridges with no padding, floor was sticky and dirty, the building in very poor condition. We checked out after the 1st night and found a different place to stay! Somehow the place did not matched the reviews on this location.
- Bernadette (8/5): Very good -
- Kyira (7/5): It was better than expected - I loved how unique it was The slogans painted above the doors were off-putting. I know those are from an earlier use for the building.
- Rea (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Nice - Quiet, comfortable, clean
- Wheeler (9/5): Superb -
- Leona (8/5): Very good -
- Louise (8/5): The room and restaurant were just what we needed for our weekend in Gravelbourg. - Having a restaurant on-site was wonderful. The breakfast lay-out was just what we needed. We thought it was great! Thank you. We thought it was great! Thank you.
- Claude (5/5): Passable -
- Maureen (6/5): It was good for the night. - The host was very kind and hospitable. Although the facility is very old and needs work, our room was clean. The toilets/sink were newer. The building needs work, the windows are very old.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Alysia (9/5): The right amount of everything! - Loved the history of the building and that the new owners didn’t completely make it over. so much charm to it. Bed was good. Room was clean. Temp was comfortable. Microwave and fridge with little freezer. Very quiet. Gravelbourg is a small town so the property is close to everything. owners are so nice. Breakfast included was hard boiled eggs, assortment of cereals, yogurt, toast/croissant and fruit. Had everything we needed for our stay. We could easily do the stairs, but that may be a consideration for others.
- Jeff (9/5): I was looking for a place with some history that was still comfortable and this was perfect. - This is a unique stay: a former convent that is now a B&B/inn. If you enjoy something different then I think you'll love the comfortable rooms, the quiet location and the restaurant downstairs - and the friendly owners. The door security system is a bit challenging to figure out and to make work properly, although this was during some winter weather.
- Genesis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (9/5): Superb -
- Joel (8/5): Very good -
- Kassandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hope (5/5): Passable -
- Donna (10/5): I would happily stay at Heritage Place B & B again and recommend it to our friends. - We were so impressed with the history and character of Heritage Place B & B. The hosts were more than welcoming and obliging and the breakfast buffet was very good. A quiet place to get a good night's rest. We tried to get different channels on the TV, especially some news, but it seemed that all that was available was Netflix. That's OK, it was only for one night and there were several choices on Netflix.
- David (8/5): Very good - The flexibility to add a night's stay The floor in room 208 could have been cleaner.
- Caitlin (1/5): Bad -
- Eugene (7/5): Good -
- Dave (9/5): It is an old convent and so the rooms are unique and charming. - Breakfast was simple and adequate.
- Sheila (4/5): Interesting & wacky - Host was friendly. She made an effort. That is appreciated. It’s a creepy old Catholic building that hasn’t been transformed into a hotel. It’s an catholic rooming in house - NOT a hotel. The owners are Chinese and purchased the building approx 15 yrs ago. Above every door way is stencilled “long live the blood Of Christ”. It was something out of the shining. I considered it an adventure. It was so wacky. But it would turn a lot of people off.
- Crosdale (9/5): Superb -
