Guest Reviews
- Kent (8/5): Most convenience place in the city. 22 minutes' drive to AMS airport by taxi. Lot of coffee shops. - The location is excellent—a canal view from the front windows on our first floor. The flat needs an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The front concrete porch step needs repairs for safety—no manager on site.
- Giorgi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rochelle (8/5): Great stay in a lovely part of the city - Nice spacious room On the first day the shower water was lukewarm, however the water temperature was perfect for the rest of the day.
There isn’t a shower door so this causes water on the floor area around the toilet.
- Tarryn (8/5): Great but needs TLC - The location is unreal you are close to many unreal spots and bridges
The bed super comfortable and has a great view of the canals
You will need to keep windows closed as the street noise only calms down by 530am
The bathroom needs maintenance, the framework of the shower is rusted in quite a few spots the main shower head needs a good clean and the walls starting to chip
No tea bags other than greentea and no bottles of water in the fridge for arrivals for 277eu per night I did expect a tad bit more
The overall experience great the room is honestly worth the stay just needs some TLC and maybe some tea bags for tea drinkers and water for traveling people ;)
- Ronan (1/5): Bad - Location The condiction of the room was awful. Their was mould on the bathroom walls and ants in the corners, when we woke up the first night we both had bite marks on us. Their was also yellow water stains on the walls and ceiling.
The shower also did not work, you could not adjust the tempature, We txt the owner about it and they just said that their is noting he could do about it then ignored us after that. It was also freezing the first night as their is one thermostat for the whole building and it was set really low.....this got really annoying as other guests can change the tempature for your room.
It's also false pictures as in all the pictures the bathrooms has a frosted glass wall separating it from the bedroom area but this is not the case it is all clear glass so you have no privacy to use the toilet.
This is the worst place we have ever stayed, avoid it!
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saoirse (8/5): Very good -
- Fatjona (8/5): Very good -
- Atif (3/5): Poor -
- Adriana (10/5): Overall wonderful experience, felt safe and would definitely stay again - Amazing location, great communication with owner
Clean Shower head was a little difficult to navigate- had to use hand head main shower head did not give enough pressure.
- Mohammed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Roland (6/5): Nice stay overall! - Excellent location! Easy checkin, friendly hosts with lots of great recommendations. Coffee maker needs a thorough cleaning, shower walls pretty rusty and shower door is missing so water gets everywhere in the bathroom, no privacy between bathroom and bedroom
- Karina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reem (5/5): Passable -
- Vorachit (9/5): Superb - The quality and size of the room is the best. The control for heater is in the hall way and everyone in the building can change the temperature. For 3 nights out of 13 nights in the accommodation I slept very cold. The front door is very hard to open and close.
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Remco (6/5): Good location, failing maintenance and cold - Location is great
Easy access Sink was clogged due to no one cleaning the drains (long female hair’s insides)
Shower needed limestone removal and lead to mild flooding of bathroom floor in front of toilet, so needed towels to dry floor
Apartment was stone cold upon entry, single glazed windows, apartment felt cold for 2 of 4 nights
No central heating only A/C heater
Rust in bathroom and molded wall
Small refrigerator was not very cold
Bed wasn’t that comfortable to my liking neither were pillows. No option between harder and softer pillows.
- Amanda (6/5): Great location for couples. No privacy in the shower or toilet due to the glass wall/door. - Location was great. The bed was soft and the room was very spacious. The bathroom area had a sewage odor and the shower leaked at the bottom. The radiator did not stay warm during our stay (property manager notified about all problems). Bathroom was completely see through and was all glass. No privacy for shower or toilet.
- Tom (4/5): Should be better for the cost - ++Good location. Near the "9 Streets" area. Easy walk around the canals. Nice view of the canal.
++Comfortable size room.
++"Nespresso" machine in room.
++Good mattress. (Firmer than typical Scandinavian.)
++Manager was quick to reply to WhatsApp messages.
++Only 17 steps on the ultra-steep/narrow stairs. It's almost a ladder with a quarter-twist. We are mobile 70-year olds. It was only an issue with luggage.... but doable. If you have mobility issues, this is NOT the place for you. The unit has had a recent remodel of some things but other things are shabby/unmaintained.
--Refrigerator did not work inside the cabinet in which it was installed. (overheated due to poor ventilation)
--Shower did not drain properly. Water backed up and pooled throughout the bathroom. Sinks gurgled and burped when shower ran. We could not use the rainshower head. We had to take a quickie shower with the hand wand. The handle of which leaked badly, spraying water backwards.
--There is an empty mount where the smoke detector should be.
--No deadbolt release on inside of door. To exit, the door must be unlocked with the key. (Emergency exit issue.)
--Shabby IKEA large cabinet detracted from the otherwise stylish remodel.
- Colin (10/5): This is the perfect stay for couples. It has a king-size bed and ultimately is situated right in Da 9 Straatjes. Which m - The property is very well situated. You get a canal view and quiet surroundings. It's conveniently located within walking distance of attractions, public transport stations, museums, restaurants, shopping areas, and laundry. Additionally, it features air conditioning and close to
Laundromats. The only thing we suggested to Tom is to change the little fridge in the unit since it doesn’t keep food cold. Other than that. The place was spacious and comfortable.
- Geitlin (9/5): Superb - The host was super nice and gave us extra tips and recommendations.
The room was cousy, spacious, clean and with the canal view.
The location of apartment was perfect for us - everything was in walking distance.
- Elísabet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jerry (10/5): Excellent property - central
easy check in and out
- Peters (8/5): Faboulus overnight stay for being very central. - - Location
- Communication w/ host - shower drain was smelling a bit
- toilet/restroom is totally visible (one hs to like it to see his partner… ;) )
- Catherine (10/5): Perfect apartment for a long weekend - Location was great No complaints
- Ned (9/5): Location and comfort! - Located in the best part of the inner city circle in Amsterdam. Cafes, restaurants, bars, etc all within walking distance. Beautiful big windows that lets in all the natural light. Nice bathroom facilities and huge bed. Plenty of room for hanging out and general storage which is very rare for Amsterdam. No accommodation in Amsterdam is perfect. Construction next door early in the morning and canal view is blocked by construction fencing. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.
- Dayna (10/5): Great place, great location. Would definitely stay here over and over! - Great location! Large room and bath room. Bedroom overlooks the canal. Close to town and walking distance to everything in Amsterdam. Tom, our host was great! Would definitely stay here every time I come back.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Edin (10/5): Best trip ever!!! - Host is extremely helpful. Simple contactless check in, and amazing location. Absolutely amazing, 11/10. -
- Arunas (9/5): Superb -
- Monica (10/5): Great! Instant communication with the host, super helpful. - Location, design, spacious
- Vishnu (9/5): Superb - The property was located very close to the city and it was really easy for Us to travel around.
- Breda (10/5): Excellent property - Excellent property, very spacious, clean, loved having a kettle, great view of the canal, 5 mins walk to metro, staff were very helpful, with directions.
- George (8/5): Excellent location - Location, comfortable bed, plenty space The noise from other people getting in and out of the property, was too much! I suppose we were unlucky!
- Bonnie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thieres (8/5): Very good -
- Abigail (3/5): Superficially looked nice but was terrible in several ways - The bed linens had not been dried properly so smelt disgusting, like damp and mildew, especially the pillowcases. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable and the room was cold, but the aircon didn’t turn on to be able to heat the room.
The bathroom had a smashed pane of glass, and the walls and shower frame had been damaged by damp.
The bath mat was ragged.
The windows are only single glazed, so you hear every noise on the street as if it’s in the room with you, and due to the location this means lots of loud screaming drunk people all night and then very early (7am) builders blasting their radio from their van and chatting and making noise. So it was impossible to sleep and that’s the whole point of a hotel room.
In addition the curtains left a gap where they meet the wall, which meant a bright strip on light directly in your eyes as it’s exactly where the pillows are.
Also the host did not reply to me when I let them know about the smelly unclean bed via the messaging.
- Marija (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cherry (7/5): Good - Location was easy to find, the owners messages through the booking.com app to make sure we found our way. The room is spacious and tall. My friend and I wasn’t aware that the bathroom had a clear wall so when it came to using the bathroom it did become slightly awkward. The showers seemed to be on the cooler side but it didnt bother us. The location of the room was very nearby to a lot of food, markets and shops. The view from the window was absolutely gorgeous with the buildings and bridge.
- Ahmed (8/5): Very good -
- Bradley (9/5): Excellent - Room was great, great location, happily would stay again Water temperature in shower (needed to be warmer)
No spoons for coffee/tea to stir in sugar
Cupboard needs a bit of TLC ( shelves, hinges, handles)
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Location was fantastic Nothing it was fabulous
- Thuy (9/5): Superb -
- Abdulsamad (1/5): The hotel was the most bad I ever seen - The location The room wasn’t clean enough especially the toilet is a disaster.
What is astonishing was the stairs that leads to my room at the 1st floor it is something like the metal rounded stairs that we find at workshops, it is very hard for someone carrying his travel bag to go upstairs using such stairs it is totally unsafe .
- Pedro (10/5): Confort and tranquility with a incredible view - My wife and I had incredible moments in Amsterdam, and staying at Canal Bridge further enhanced our experience on this trip. Besides the comfort and the poetic view from our window, the location was perfect. We were literally close to all the tourist spots. Without a doubt, we will stay there again.
- Hugo (2/5): Very poor -
- Joseph (8/5): Nevertheless was all round a great stay - The bed was huge & very comfortable The stairs are very narrow & maybe could of had a toaster for abit of breakfast on a morning that’s what’s missing
- Matina (8/5): Pleasant stay - Excellent location
Spacious room
Good communication
Tom was very helpful The bathroom was very cold
The towels were worn out
Quite expensive
- Allan (1/5): Waste of money - The location was very good, the room was spacious. The bathroom had mould on the ceiling and had a mouldy smell throughout, window and air con need to be on to get rid of the smell. The shower didn't have consistent or even much hot water.
One of the worst beds I've ever slept on, was sagging so much. The bed frame was held up by a brick and a book for one leg, the other was broken and bent. The sheets/linen/towels were all old and ragged. There is no cleaning of the rooms as it's not a hotel.
We were on the ground floor, and there was a construction site next door which was very loud in the early morning and the scaffolding from this covered any sort of view of the canal.
For the price charged, you would expect a significantly better room. A huge waste of money.
- Lucinda (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (5/5): Passable -
- Abdulmohsen (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is perfect, except the property is over priced for the duration of the stay.
- Tracy (7/5): Great Location - The location was great, right on a canal, close walk to attractions and an easy Uber ride to the airport. The room was large and the view was nice. The host was kind and pleasant. Again location was fantastic. Coffee maker in the room was great I purposely booked a place in a higher price range because I was at the end of a long trip and wanted a nicer place. I thought that this was a small hotel, instead it was privately owned. Unfortunately, the room had some issues. The toilet started running quite loudly right before I arrived. The owner said he hoped that the plumber would be able to come out, but that did not happen. The panel fell off the wall when I flushed the toilet and remained off for the stay. The towels were plentiful, but old and worn. The room listed toiletries, a welcome bottle of wine, glasses, etc, but these were not there. There was only body wash, no handsoap for the bathroom. The owner did bring me a glass for my wine when I asked though.
- Sarunas (4/5): We are very disappointed with our stay. - Only the place. Upon arrival at the apartment, water was constantly running in the toilet. The host, Tom, promised to fix it. Unfortunately, he did not solve the stated problem, and the first night we hardly slept due to the constant noise of running water (only a glass partition separates the bathroom from the bedroom). On the morning of the second day, I texted Tom about it and asked him to fix the toilet. Unfortunately for Tom, not only did he not fix the toilet, but he didn't even respond to my email. The second night we also had almost no sleep for the same reason.
The apartments themselves are in need of repair, the bathroom has a bad smell.
We are very disappointed with our stay in these apartments and especially with their host.
- Emilie (6/5): Overall, we loved the location of the canal bridge suites but the rooms need better care. - The location was perfect! Tom was a great host, recommended a lot of places and never disappointed. This is not a hotel, the rooms are like an airbnb. The room we stayed in needs to be renovated and better cleaning of bedsheets. The towels are old and needs to be changed. The shower kept changing from hot to cold.
- Eytan (7/5): Amazing location with huge potential - Amazing location. Host is friendly. The bathroom need renovation. Shower pipe broken, glass metal frame very rust.
- G (9/5): Superb - Easiest booking ever, top host, top staff, top location. Bathroomwalls transparent.
- Brooke (9/5): Superb - The best location! Super central
- Saeed (7/5): Was good , but could be better. - The bed was nice and room was clean. There are some things need to be prepared for the customers as a hotel apartment like :
1- towels need to be change at least 1 time every 2 days.. ( i booked 5 nights and the towel never been changed )
2- the Air condition in the room kind of weak. Need to be checked.
3- fridge not cold even if i keep the drink for a whole day inside
4- Noisy neighbor " building under construction " and they start drilling at 8:00 AM! Need to put a note for the costumers so they be aware of that.
- Deborah (8/5): Lovely apartment, location and host - Fantastic location and host was very helpful Thankfully carried our luggage up the very narrow and winding staircase 😌 He also helped us out with laundry facilities which was a great help on our extended trip. Stairway could be an issue for some and as spacious as the apartment was it would be good to have some chairs in there as the window ledge is a fantastic spot for ‘people watching’ but not too comfortable for any extended period of time.
Some minimal crockery and cutlery would also make the stay a lot more accomodating.
- Carla (6/5): Wonderful location and great restaurant next door. Wished I could have had privacy in the loo. - Great location! Very cute.. Very accommodating manager. There's no bathroom privacy. Toilet separated from bedroom by glass window.
- Neil (7/5): Slightly disappointing - Decent location , next door restaurant very good No where near as good a room as the photos.
- Yun (6/5): An ok place. Not really sure who its for though, neither budget nor luxury - Central location Bathroom is a little weird and needs more privacy. Beds werent the most comfortable and there were a lot of ants
- Tareq (7/5): Good - very big room and the windows face the canal, which is great.
- Lisa (8/5): Great location - Right in the centre in a perfect spot. Light and airy. Ants in the bathroom!
- Judith (8/5): We found the room very pleasant and gave us a bit of space. View our the window was great - Tom gave us a very warm welcome and recommended a restaurant, turn right out the front door then right at the st. Venue was just a couple of buildings down and was the best meal we’d had during our holiday. Superb! Internet was a little weak
- Anonymous (10/5): Over all a great location to stay and will stay there again - Great location Fridge wasn’t working properly
- Venkata (6/5): Pleasant - - location - narrow spiral old staircase, if you have heavy luggage, is impossible to climb.
- no room cleaning offered
- Anonymous (10/5): was spacious and close to everything - host was amazing and welcoming nothing
- Christian (7/5): For convenience, I would stay here again as the facility owner is very attentive accommodating. - It was a GREAT location. The hotel room was large and accessible. It was in a very cool building, easy walking distance to shops, transportation, and restaurants. Nice neighbor hood and very safe place to stay. It could use some refreshing... The TP dispenser was broken by previous guest but we were made aware of that upon arrival. The iron was unusable due to a previous guest burning something onto it. The bathroom could have used some additional privacy (frosting on the rest of the glass) so that if you left the curtains to the room open that you were not completely on display - unless you like that sort of thing. Really, not a negative, just a preference.
- Gail (9/5): Amazing location right on the canal. - The view and location are extraordinary.
Big windows, quiet street, walking distance to everything.
- David (7/5): Great Host / Location.... Prices a tad too high - Tom was an exceptional host and gave us great tips on what to do in the city.
Location was perfect.
Nice interior layout Didn't realize that this was not a full service hotel, so the price was high compared to other accommodations. Noticed prices dropped after we left, so perhaps it was just supply/ demand for that week.
Needs to fix a couple of items in bathroom.
If you have trouble with stairs may have an issue if on higher floors, but this was fine for us.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional - This location is fantastic. In the heart of everything with a spectacular view. Very comfortable for two people. We would return if we're ever in Amsterdam. The stairs are difficult as are almost all stairways in old Amsterdam buildings so it was too be expected. But, the less luggage you have, the better.
- Ali (10/5): wonderful, comfy, hospitable, perfectly located. - canal bridge suites was perfect for our needs. lots of space for us to relax without feeling cramped. perfectly positioned right in the midde of everything, with easy access to the outer city by nearby tram.
- Roberta (4/5): Worst expensive room experience we've ever had, don't do it - Décor was trendy and modern, great location. Sheets and towels were worn and should be replaced. Stairs are historic and difficult to maneuver, thank goodness we are in our early sixties and fit. It was difficult to communicate with the owner, who we believed lived upstairs. He told us he would arrange transport to the airport and take our bags down the stairs at 6:15 am on Saturday May 20 (a holiday weekend). He was a no show, so frustrating and unprofessional.
- Michaella (9/5): We booked last minute and Tom was extremely accommodating. The location cannot be beat. Will definitely stay here again - location was perfect, sitting on the window overlooking the busy canal nothing
- Zoran (8/5): Very good - bed
- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- B (10/5): Exceptional - Excelllent place, used it for business but romantic sights; will come back with my wife probably!
- David (10/5): Great stay in the middle of the Canal/9 Streets district. Clean, updated, easy to access. Highly recommend. - Great location. Modern updated furnishings. Easy access. very clean.
- Maria (1/5): Disappointed - The heating was off when we arrived. We thought that we could use the air condition but it was not working. When we came back from our day at the center it was late but the heating was still not working when we tried to turned it up through the electrical panel. We contacted the owner who said it was late, he opened the radiators that were closed with protection and said that someone had previously closed the radiators manually. However, I’m wondering when someone is paying 330€ per night , isn’t there someone that needs to check the heating and the radiators especially when you have radiator protection over them and the guest cannot access them appropriately? First of all the rooms were not clean, the stairs to the rooms were extremely small (could be dangerous), the en-suite bathroom is not successful at all, especially when there is a broken part of the glass-wall that separates it from the bed. The bathroom didn’t even have hand soap. The coffee machine was not working and it spilled water when the owner came to check us. All in all, the room is totally overcharged for what it provides. It gives vibes of a hostel since the door doesn’t even have a smart lock.
- Anonymus (10/5): Exceptional - The room is beautiful
- Dan (8/5): Great location- low end property for a high price. - great location the property was not a suite/more like a low end studio. Fridge didn’t work. Garbage not emptied-bad towels-tv erratic. Rooms weren’t cleaned and no broom for us to do it ourselves. High price for low end experience. First time using booking.com. Feel it was misrepresented. Can we trust booking.com in the future?
- Great location though
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Excellent size room, modern & trendy.
Perfect communication with the host.
Superb location.
- Berkan (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): Great location and stay. - Exceptional location right on the canal. Close to number 17 and number 12 tram to make getting around the rest of the city easy. Easy walking distance to Central station and most attractions without bags. Large room that had real charm. it gave you the opportunity to live like an Amsterdammer for a few days. Lots of good eateries nearby. Supermarket basically opposite.
Tom was an extremely friendly and helpful host. I cannot recommend this property enough. Thank you for a great visit. Nothing
- Munirah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Klaivert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (10/5): amazing second home - the location is amazing everything with in walking distance. The room was completely ready for us before the check in time we ask for early luggage check in but the host was so amazing that our room was ready by 12:00 noon 20 Stars on my book for that. long story short I would stay here longer if I had more time.
- Brian (10/5): Lots of cheese, wine and high times, would definitely recommend - Quaint, tidy and relaxing. Excellent location too. Nothing, could not fault a thing.
- Carter (10/5): Will Book Here Again 100% - Beautiful Views, Beautiful Room Luxurious, Pleasant Owner and Super Clean
- Burak (10/5): Exceptional - The owner of the place is very helpfull.
- Ola (5/5): Passable - the room is big
the location is good the house keeping come only when you check out
the host is not coooperative with the checkout
i asked him to leave at 12 or 1
he insisted to go at 11
i
- Mina (5/5): it was okay for a few days but it did feel quite dirty and not looked after - the location is brill, very central and convenient, easy direction to get there, easy to get in and host was good it was not very clean, very old property, not many towels or facilities.
- David (8/5): Lovely room in an incredible location - Fantastic location in a beautiful and buzzing but relaxed and comfortable area. Really nice window seat and views, comfortable bed, very easy check in and out process, great room size and nice decor. Really good communication with host. Hair dryer and twin sinks were also useful. Worn and stiff towels, heavy shower door, damaged glass panel. Room was very hot when we arrived, we turned the radiator down and opened the window but would have been good to have some instructions left for this. None of this was a huge problem and we would stay here again.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fergus (9/5): Superb -
- Serguei (9/5): Superb - Excellent view and location
