• Bilitis (9/5): Parfait ! Je recommande ! - Nous avons été agréablement surpris ! Le logement était mieux que ce que l’on attendaient. Très bien placé, proche des transports et du Vondelpark. La terrasse est très agréable pour les jours de beau temps. Blaine nous a très bien accueilli, notre fils a adorait jouer avec son petit chien ! Nous avons été autorisé à déposer notre valise plus tôt. Les escaliers… étant enceinte il fallait que je prenne mon temps 😅

• Boni (9/5): Appartamento in posizione strategica - La posizione dell'appartamento è strategica ( vicinanza all'aeroporto e alla fermata del tram n.2 che in circa 15 minuti porta in centro). L'appartamento è accogliente e funzionale, dotato di servizi ( bollitore elettrico, asciugacapelli, stoviglie, ecc.). Terrazzo panoramico con arredamento per il relax ( divanetto sedie e tavolino). Cambio giornaliero di tutti gli asciugamani. Gentilezza,simpatia e disponibilità del proprietario, che su richiesta allestisce ottime colazioni e cene a prezzi ragionevoli. Il bagno (piccolo, senza finestra e datato). Tre piani di scale per accedere all'appartamento che possono costituire una difficoltà per chi ha problemi di deambulazione.

• Ralf (10/5): Das Glück liegt in Amsterdam. - Sehr gepflegt, Einrichtung wunderschön, Dachterrasse herrlich . Blaine ist ein prima Gastgeber, freundlich, zuverlässig und humorvoll. Die Toilette ist sehr klein. Man muss seine Beine gut managen.

• ANNE (8/5): Good option for a short stay - Nicely decorated room, in a quiet neighbourhood. Super clean. A good option for a short stay in Amsterdam. If you have a lot of luggage, beware of steep stairs to reach there. But that is the case of many Amsterdam houses.

• Bortolotti (10/5): - Blaine's house is located in a semi-suburban neighbourhood that is charming, very quiet and well connected to the centre of Amsterdam. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and Blaine is a super-professional host, kind, discreet and always available. The breakfast is exceptional and highly recommended. We stayed with my family for 5 nights: a perfect stay, thank you Blaine! I would just add some optional blackout curtains in the lower room.

• Daniel (8/5): - Very nice place to stay. Breakfast and the rooftop terrace and the coffee machine in the room were all pluses! Good value for the price but Amsterdam is so expensive as it is. Im not sure if Blaine has a very dry sense of humor or is just rude. It was a bit difficult to find at first bc Google maps is wrong. Also there are 3 flights of steep stairs, but I guess that’s normal for Amsterdam.

• Vise (10/5): A cozy, comfortable stay in the heart of beautiful Amsterdam - Blaine's Bed and Breakfast was a delightful place to stay! It was a beautiful property, very centrally located, a short tram ride away from both the train station and downtown. He has tons of recommendations for sights, restaurants, and experiences accumulated from years living in the city, and you can tell he is passionate about ensuring his guests have a great stay in Amsterdam. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, and Blaine was always available to provide tips for a prospective day of adventuring. It was a delightful time, and we are grateful to Blaine for sharing his love of the city with us! No complaints.

• Sonia (9/5): - The room was cozy and warm, with a beautiful view from the window. It’s located in a lovely area with plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants nearby. They also have a cute dog, which made the stay even nicer. Following the owner’s suggestion, I tried a really good place in the neighborhood. If I get the chance, I would definitely book this place again.

The suite was very nice, clean and connected to a beautiful rooftop terrace. We had to pay a bit more than we were planning on due to a late booking, but the place is great. We loved our two night layover between the Western USA and Tanzania.

• Giulio (3/5): Se potete … evitate !! - La struttura sarebbe anche carina se tenuta e pulita a dovere, ubicate in un quartiere carino a sud del centro di Amsterdam, divano letto comodo, terrazza a disposizione (non in esclusiva) La stanza non sarebbe male, il problema è che è vecchia e non tenuta e soprattutto molto sporca, il bagno NON È IN CAMERA, è subito fuori dalla stanza ed in uso esclusivo peccato che tra la stanza e bagno passi un corridoio che va ad una lavanderia privata del titolare, il quale in ogni momento del giorno passa senza problemi. Il titolare persona gentile, ma non è sicuramente un host come lo si intende, non ha neanche proposto di darci una mano coi bagagli. All’arrivo per spiegarci che Ete erano sotto al divano letto in un cassettone ha aperto il cassettone con i piedi e ha toccato le coperte per farci capire cosa intendeva. Il titolare gira scalzo sempre in tutta la casa. Situato al quarto piano con le scale olandesi, impossibile salire con i bagagli che non siano +1 valigia da cabina, impossibile da utilizzare per una persona con qualche problema di deambulazione. Avevamo deciso di scegliere questa struttura in quanto aveva recensioni molto alte, dove aveva un prezzo decisamente conveniente rispetto alle altre strutture simili, ma è stata assolutamente una delusione, Bagno indecente vecchio e sporco come tutto il resto della stanza. Non ci tornarei.

• Wideworldbb (4/5): Okay place for solo traveller - Blaine was very hospitable and the dog was very friendly and cute. Very nice area too, cosy neigborhood. Not that far from Lelylaan station, about 2km or 20 minutes, so walkable. There are quite a few very steep stairs to get to the room, not so strange in Amsterdam but still a bit of a hassle. The door to the room is also paper thin.

Be prepared for very steep narrow stairs which is typical for Amsterdam. The shower is shared and the separate toilet is very small. The host is knowledgeable but can be abrupt.

The welcome was warm and friendly and the roof terrace was available to me to enjoy the beautiful weather The stairs will be an issue for some visitors, not just to get the accommodation but in the accommodation itself (the bedroom is up some quite steep steps). Having said this it was well worth the climb!

• Schubert (8/5): Beautiful room with an amazing view from the room and the green, tranquil roof terrace - Easy to reach by public transport from the main railway station, the city and the airport. Wonderful for exploring the city as it is only 5 min to walk to the tram stop. A little oasis with the green and quiet roof terrace and its marvelous view. Checking in and out was also great as well as all the info we got from the owner about early transport and other tips around the city. The only small challenge was getting the luggage up the steep, narrow steps to the 4th floor, but we managed it.

There was only one problem but it hurt us a lot: information about the apartment was not 100% clear. 1. We have chosen “room with terrace”. Owner has various rooms for rent at that building but terrace is mentioned only when you choose “room with terrace”. However during our stay we found that terrace could be used by other guests too and owner confirmed that. So on Sunday mourning some other guests had a late breakfast just behind our window. We were in beds at that moment so had to put our clothes quickly as the room was fully viewed from the terrace. We felt ourselves as if we share apartment with strangers. 2. It was not mentioned that bathroom and kitchen could be used by owner at any time, so when you move from the room to bathroom and back you’d better put all your clothes. And once again keep in mind that you share your apartment with the owner. 3. Stairs is pretty hard to climb. That was not a problem for us but for sure my parents could not afford them. Hope the owner could mention it before booking. Apart of that everything was perfect but these issues made us think we would not recommend that place to any other guests.

• Ruth (10/5): Gorgeous place to stay with stunning roof terrace - The photos really don’t do this property justice. The family room was just perfect. We were expecting to all be in 1 room, but the second double bed is on a mezzanine, so gives that little bit of privacy for each room. The roof terrace was gorgeous. A little piece of calm and relaxation among the roof tops of Amsterdam. We didn’t have great whether during our stay but it would have been perfect for alfresco dining and drinks with nice weather. Blaine was a fantastic host, who has attention to detail…from the fresh crisp bedding, to the fluffy towels and the coffee machine for that morning coffee. I would highly recommend the breakfast…a better deal than any local cafe and great value for money. We left full and content having loved a few days in Amsterdam. Thank you!!

We spontaneously quit our plans to go to a bar and stayed instead on the beautiful terrace. The second highlight was the host! He was friendly and curteous all the time and made whishes come true even before mentioned. Really great!

After one day mice started to occur in my room. The room is located quite far away from the city center. Be prepare to climb three floors up to get to your room.

• Karolina (8/5): Very good - The owner was very nice and helpful. Plus, he had a cute dog. The accommodation was in a great location, with great access to the centre (about 20 minutes by direct tram). Even though there was a shared bathroom and toilet, it was clean everywhere and there was no problem. I noticed that there are a lot of complaints about the straight stairs, but after walking the city streets it is clear that this is just how houses in Amsterdam are built, you have to take it into account. The only thing I would rate negatively would be the owner's not-so-good communication about the planned party.I don't mind that he invited people to his birthday party, that's perfectly fine, I just would have appreciated it if he had given us more notice than an hour or so before. We would have planned the day differently. We had originally planned to go to the patio in the early evening, but that was no longer possible. Later on, the group moved downstairs, which again was awkward because of the shared bathroom and toilet. If we had known about the party earlier, we would have stayed out longer. So it's more just... better communication next time?
